I recommend everything really, I have tried a few dishes and all have been great. The fish, the meat, burritos, chimichangas and so on but our favorite is the Molcajete. The only bad thing is that is a "single serving" so it only brings 1 side dish (rice, beans, salad, pico, and sour cream) with it but you can get an extra one for extra $. Their margaritas are really good and they have a big big mug beer too, 32oz I think. They also have a variety of other mixed drinks, and also nonalcoholic beverages. The decor is pretty cool, a bit bold but definitely matches the Mexican Rancho pride. The place can get busy but it on a shopping center so you you will have plenty of parking, not close to the door but free parking in Nashville and surrounding areas, beggars can't be choosers , but trust me, you'll be glad you'll have those extra steps to buffer that belly before you get in the car. When our server Erica took our drink order and left QR codes for the menu, I quietly looked at my daughter in law and said with a grin, "I hate these. I like to hold a real menu." Although I said it quietly, our server must have caught my look because without a beat, she returned a second later with menus and said winking, "I like a real menu, too." It was subtle and intentional and set the tone for a perfect meal. I told her, "we are reading Will Guidara's Unreasonable Hospitality, and you just modeled it." She told us it's one of hers and her husband's favorite books! Our street corn nachos were delicious as well as great salsa and chips, and each of us was super happy with our taco choices. Highly recommend the brisket, featuring a horseradish cream, and the shrimp as well as the fish tacos. One small note: the flavors in my Brussels sprout taco were fantastic, but the veggies themselves were a bit tough. My tamarind margarita was SPOT ON with a perfectly generous tajin rim and dried lime slice. Food was well-timed even with a packed house. Even when the beans added on by one of our party were way too spicy for her palate, our server offered an alternative without missing a beat. My waitress came right over with water and a menu, and I was clear with her that I had about a half hour before I needed to leave. She quickly took my order, giving me recommendations when I asked for advice and was torn between a couple of different things. The menu is large and reasonably priced with a very wide selection of drinks. This isn't the most authentic Mexican food, but man is it tasty. Lots of fresh ingredients and so much flavor, a real crowd pleaser for dietary restrictions and picky eaters! I was torn between chips and queso and a burrito, so it was to my benefit that the chicken burrito comes with a side of chips and salsa, and paying a small upcharge to swap in queso meant I got all of the things I was craving in one order. Pinto beans, guacamole, chipotle aioli, and rice all packed in and put on the griddle so you get that nice sear. There's an option to add a cheese skirt to the burrito that I skipped this time but would absolutely come back for. The chips were thin and crispy, the queso hot and delicious, and I couldn't have asked for more at the price. The burrito is $11 on its own and with the chicken and my upcharge I came to about $19 with tax, plus tip. When the waitress brought my food she also brought my check and a box so I could take the other half to go and get everything out of the way. In and out in thirty minutes with food that was hot, fresh, and super delicious. The service here really goes the extra mile. Easy for a solo diner, easy for a group, and easy to just walk in for a quick meal. My only small gripe is that they may still be too popular for their parking lot, which should be slightly bigger. They've also got an interesting set of coffee and matcha drinks and a brunch menu I'd love to come back for. This is a hidden gem, and I hope locals keep showing up for the great places we already have instead of only chasing whatever just opened!
