Fine, but it could have been better. The overall vibe is nice, and the service is excellent. I appreciated that they had some traditional Mexican lagers in addition to some craft beer options on tap. They offered up chips and salsa as soon as I sat down at the bar, and both were very good. The salsa was flavorful. The chips were fresh and crisp. The menu is fairly extensive, and there are certainly a few different vegetarian and vegetable forward items. Not a huge number, but enough. I ended up ordering some refried bean enchiladas (enchiladas Mexicanas). They were fine but really not inspired. The enchilada sauce was good but not sufficiently plentiful or flavorful. It was a good pairing with a pint of craft beer, but not something I would seek out again. Overall, this seemed like a nice enough place. Overly convenient to the hotel since it was at the end of the parking lot. Cold blustery night so I opted to go for the close option. Super friendly service. Seems a bit slow as I had three folks tending to me. Opted for something out of the ordinary so the super sweet waitress suggested the mayonnaise shrimp. That is my translation. Not bad as the sauce is a mayo chipotle ranch sauce. I got the mixed grill veggies and the refried beans. All was good. It was late so just had water which they kept fresh glasses coming. Chips and Salsa were tasty. Chips nice and fresh and crisp. Decor was typical Tex mex decor with brightly colored painting. The booth I set at had a particularly lovely village set on a lake. We were seated quickly but we waited a while for our drinks. Our waiter stopped by, we couldn't find the drink menu so we weren't ready and he left and didn't come back until we started looking around the restaurant. It was cute inside though, spacious and lots of cool art. Now the food. The queso was thick like some grits!! I'm usually a fan of thicker queso but not so thick that you have to eat it fast or it's like.....cold grits! I had the A.C.C which was basically shrimp, rice queso on the side along with tortillas. I'm used to the queso being on the food and not on the side and it was still thick so by the time I got halfway through my food I was using a fork to get the queso out of the little bowl. The rice was old. It had those hard pieces of rice mixed in with the newer rice. The food was not worth the $70. We did get a $20 margarita too though. I wouldn't eat here again. Before heading to the airport for our flight home, we made one last stop--Los Tres Magueyes. At home, this would've been Taco Tuesday with happy hour prices, but when we called ahead, we found out that Happy Hour isn't really a thing here--bummer! We decided to share the four-enchilada plate, which came with one cheese, one beef, one chicken, and one bean enchilada. We also added a side of Spanish rice and refried beans. And naturally, we couldn't say goodbye without a round of Margaritas. The food was okay--nothing bad, just not especially memorable. I do wish the Margaritas were a little stronger, but they had a good flavor. The restaurant was clean, and our waiter took good care of us, making sure everything we needed was brought out quickly. This Mex ican restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. The interior is the typical bright color Mexican decor. The Chips and Salsa came out while we looked over the menu. Both were good, especially the salsa which is house made. Yep, I requested a second serving. The main meal was very good as well. The chicken enchiladas with verde sauce was excellent as well as the combo plate of one each taco, enchilada, and burrito. A side tamale was one of the best I've had in a while. We went early in the evening. Great service. One member of our party had to order a fresh entree because her original one was extremely spicy (menu description was not spicy). This was served quickly and was also comp'ed on the check. Being early, it was not too loud and we were all able to hear conversation at the table. Prices were reasonable as were serving sizes. I met a friend of mine here for late lunch. They allow dogs on the patio and he had his with him so that narrows the location options to eat. We ordered our food but it took a very long time to come out. Before it arrived, we decided we would go to my place to eat and relax looking over the lake. Plus, we could consume more beverages and not need to drive after. I found our waiter and told him to give us our order to go (it hadn't arrived yet) and to add an entree (I don't recall what I got her) for my wife. About 1 minute later our food was brought out to our table (the original 2 orders, my wife's was not included). I explained that we wanted our food to go and had an additional item as well. This was good Mexican food with the most authentic ambiance I have ever seen. I would have given 5-stars, but the Chimichanga was not up to standard. It was simply a couple of small chicken burritos, instead of the traditional huge deep fried burrito. I do not recommend you order the Chimichanga. The service was dismal as well. Unfriendly men are not as pleasant as friendly women with a pretty smile. My waiter gave me attitude because I didn't understand his bad English. The main dish sides are nontraditional, too. They serve beans and lettuce, instead of beans and Spanish rice. I will wrap this up with what they did very well. The menu prices are very fair. The draft Modelo was served ice cold in a 32 oz mug. Ok, it's pretty much your stereotypical Mexican joint by the airport. A little cleaner than most in its category, good prompt service, of course a huge menu, and more margarita options than beer. The dining room is cool and pretty bright. It's pretty on par for a place like this. The service was prompt and kind. We had a lot to discuss so I had time to try a big beer and a margarita. The beer selection is pretty much a few imports and a very limited macro. Pick your lager. The margarita was tasty, but that's pretty normal. The food is where I was really impressed. Of course it's a huge menu with specials and combos and all of that confusing stuff. As usual I was overwhelmed and just went back to my ACP. Easy to say, easy to order, always tasty. But then I saw they had all kinds of AC options! I dove in for the ACC (shrimp). I was really impressed. The rice and cheese were typical, but the shrimps were pretty big and tasty! We usually always come here for our food even through Covid now I am not sure. I went into pick up our order I ordered our regular #23, burritos tajano, and a burritos quesadilla. Chicken. Pros: The man at the counter greeted me nicely and went to get my food. The woman cashed me out. The food was delicious. Cons: When I went through my order I had asked for another salsa ( the woman said no and the man got it for me ( next time if I Ever go back- I can just order 3 separate meals and get chips and salsa for each) I was also short the side of guacamole/ lettuce/ sour cream- the woman said my meal didn't come with it - I said it did- she started checking the menu, then asked a server he said it did come with it. L3M finally has Birria Tacos and damn it reminds me of the ones I got when I was in Cali off the taco trucks ... The beef is tender tucked away in a tortilla dipped consume blanket and served with beans and rice and a bowl of consume which is amazing ... when I say amazing I mean it ! It's the only place in the area where the consume is thick and will coat everything it touches and is flavorful! L3M what ever you do... Our server, Jessie, was not only kind and so sweet but she anticipated ALL our needs that we could possibly have before we even had to ask! My goodness. This place offers so much food. My partner and I ordered two dishes (arroz con pollo and a combo platter) and we had enough leftovers for lunch and dinner the next day. This place is the definition of band for your buck, as it was reasonably priced ($12-14 per entree). Great food! My mom and I both got enchiladas; she got the suizas and I got the mexicanas. The kitchen got my order mixed up at first and brought me a different kind of enchiladas -- ones with chicken I think? -- but they quickly corrected it and brought me the food I ordered. Here's the kicker, though: both the enchiladas I ordered AND the ones I didn't order were delicious. In fact, I'd say the ones I didn't order were the better of the two. The food's great, the service was great considering how quickly they fixed everything, and the atmosphere is a little campy, but fun. All in all, it was a great meal after a long day of travel, and I'd recommend it to anyone driving or flying through the area.
