We are so glad we stopped by Los Valedores Mexican Food, the fantastic food truck parked right outside Good People Brewing, and we are already planning to revisit soon! My husband ordered two tacos, and I went with a burrito. The friendly and helpful cashier suggested doing a meat combo of steak and cow ribs inside my burrito, and oh my goodness, the flavors were absolutely delicious! I will definitely be ordering that combination again. The wait for our order wasn't long at all, everything was correctly prepared, the presentation was nice, the serving size was wonderfully filling, and above all, it was mouth-wateringly good. Had the cabeza here, coming from LA, this was hella bomb, the pastor and Birria was pretty good too, but that cabeza had me over heels, the tacos are huge for $4, they don't skimp out! I stopped back in for a quick meal between jobs and decided to order two al pastor street tacos. I also had to get an order of chips and salsa because their chips are absolutely delicious! They're different from the chips at other Mexican restaurants, and I always look forward to them. As expected, the tacos were incredible. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving. I enjoyed the chips and salsa with my meal, then packed up the leftover chips to take home. The next day, I melted some cheese over them and topped them with fresh cilantro for another amazing meal. Talk about getting two meals out of one visit! The service is always great. The Los Valedores food truck is located at Good People brewing. I'm not sure how long this has been their home but it seems to be a permanent thing. I really enjoyed my food from here. I only ordered 1 pollo and 1 asada taco. Both were delicious and packed with flavor!!!! I almost ordered more! I absolutely loved the red and green sauces. The beloved blue taco truck, Los Valederos, opened its first brick-and-mortar location a few months ago, and I am quite pleased with the turnout! My sister and I ate inside for dinner; their indoor menu is much larger than the truck's. There are a ton of Mexican street food items to choose from, as well as salads and plate options. What we ordered: -Sopes: delicious; you can add meat to these for just a $1.50 extra. I shared this with my sister. I loved the fried masa! -Shrimp Tacos: my sister really joined these- they were full of flavor! -Blue Truck Salad with Chickenken: the "fancier" of all the dishes this evening. This was a phenomenal salad; the toppings paired well with one another, and the cilantro-lime dressing was delightful. I would absolutely order it again. Whether you're grabbing food from the truck to-go or dining inside, Los Valdores is a fantastic spot for authentic Mexican bites in Birmingham. Not your average Mexican fare. This place does not serve your normal Tex~Mex dishes. Authentic street tacos, with a vast selection of proteins including asada, pork, octopus, tripe, just to name a few. Lots of unique and interesting offerings on the menu. Counter personal was very helpful in explaining options. Order at counter they bring the food to your table. Very fast service. Ate lunch, will be going back to see if Marquitas are as good as the tacos. Very bright and festive colors. Large patio or can eat inside. They appear to have a very good take out business. We laughed that there were 3 people sitting beside wearing t-shirts from a business that has a Mexican restaurant in their establishment, but they were eating at Los Valedores. They also have really good margaritas, but they have major timing problems with the service. Every time I've ordered a margarita, it's come out after my food. The last time, my entire party was finished eating and I ended up just asking for a refund for my drink. In short, this place is really good for the basics. The food is good--I can't deny that. The tacos, in particular, are really good, and they're usually what I order every time I visit. This time, however, I decided to try the quesabirrias, and unfortunately, they were disappointing. I also ordered a horchata, which I didn't think was very good. The biggest area that needs improvement is the customer service. I would describe it as average at best, and in some ways, closer to poor. I understand that no one is obligated to greet customers or wish them a good day, but when you're paying for a meal--especially at a place that isn't exactly cheap--you at least expect to be treated with kindness. During my visit, no one greeted me when I walked in or when they came to take my order, and overall the staff didn't seem very welcoming or attentive. While I was waiting for my food, I asked if I could get a little more horchata. The employee simply replied, "No, you have to buy another one." I responded, "No, that's okay." Honestly, if the horchata had been really good, I would have gladly paid for another one. It wasn't so much about having to buy a second drink--it was more about the way the situation was handled. Small interactions like that can make a big difference in how customers feel. I truly believe this restaurant has a lot of potential. If they improved their customer service and showed a little more warmth and empathy toward their customers, it could easily become one of the best Mexican restaurants in Birmingham. Drove by the food truck many times but never stopped for some reason. Noticed the restaurant has opened and finally ate there with a friend a few weeks ago. My immediate impression upon entering was the aroma - it's authentic and just hits different than my usual Mexican food spots. We started with the Birria Fries - highly recommend. No notes. I had the Flautas de Pollo which were solid, but I was distracted finishing the fries so the egg wasn't runny but that's on me. Buddy had the tacos and they looked and smelled great. This blue Mexican food truck came highly recommended so we made sure to put it on our list of places to check out while visiting Birmingham. Though it was a little busy, we were able to pick up our tacos and burritos relatively quickly after placing our order. Not going to drink as much or enjoy if no one checks on you and service. All the fancy technology and no interaction. People that brought food were nice. I ordered second drink and no one made it. Waited 15 minutes then I had to go inside and ask. Sat outside nice day but I want someone to wait on me. Sorry guess just old school. This week I went to Los Valedores Taco Truck and it definitely lived up to the hype! The vibe was super casual and seemed authentic. A classic food truck setup with a couple people having around enjoying their food. It had a warm community feeling to it. Was not fancy but I feel like that is when you know they will have the best food! The service was quick and friendly. It did not seem like they had a lot of people in the truck but the staff kept things moving pretty quickly. They were also very welcoming which made my experience even better! As for the food, the tacos were pack with the flavor, I got the el pastor and it tastes amazing with fresh cilantro and lime! The portions were generous and they recommended their homemade sauce that added a perfect kick of spice! BURRITO FILLED ME TF UP. & Since the had churro cake on the menu my bf asked for just the churros, and he got what he asked for! He got 8 MFIN CHURROS AND YK DAMN WELL I stole some of his! Best I've ever had. Service is great as the people are super nice, gentle and caring. Not too loud in there either so sitting and waiting for food to be done is quite peaceful. Sometime last week, I decided to try out the Los Valedores Taco Truck since I heard so much about the place from others. The workers and outside the truck itself had a pretty welcoming atmosphere even though it was extremely busy. I was taken care of pretty quickly and throughout my waiting time at the truck it gave me a chance to appreciate the nice chill air and my coke. The truck seemed to be pretty clean as well and the utensils used were all disposable, which is something the truck can work on to create more eco-friendly sustainability methods. I ordered three al pastor tacos, which were good and filling, but not the best Alabama has to offer. I really enjoyed my time at the truck because of the welcoming atmosphere and the array of food it has to offer. I usually don't try food trucks in Birmingham, and I normally only get food from food trucks when I'm at the beach. However, a friend recommended this taco truck called Los Valedores in Homewood, so I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. It ended up being some of the best tacos I've ever had! I usually order the carne asada, and the food comes out super fast, which is always a plus. I can be pretty picky when it comes to carne asada because I care a lot about how soft the meat is, and I also don't like too much cilantro. Somehow, they get everything just right every time. The flavors are balanced, and nothing feels overwhelming. I typically prefer hard shell tacos because I'm picky about soft shells, but their soft shell tacos completely changed my mind. The texture was perfect and tasted amazing. This food truck really exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for great tacos in the Homewood area! read more

I do not usually enjoy trying food trucks but this one was amazing. Before trying this truck, I had multiple people recommend it to me. When you arrive to the locations, that has been the same stop for awhile, I get the chorizo tacos. I had never had this type of taco before trying this place and it was so good. I am usuallt very picky about my taco meat and not the biggest fan of soft shell tacos but this was one of the best tacos I have tried in Birmingham. The workers were so nice and fast when preparing my food. The inside seemed very clean and I did not feel bad after eating the tacos They were very filling and I will definetly be going back. If ya'll read any of my reviews, I basically only rate places that are very good to excellent. Los Valedores is excellent. I never get their tacos, because the steak burrito is so good that I can't even get to the tacos. I'm gonna force myself to try them next time. The quesadilla is wonderful as well. If you've never had this truck before, get your lawn chair and some wet-wipes and head down to Oxmoor and break bread with these folks. The service is impeccable. You won't have to wait long but there many times is a line but that can't be helped. Just more evidence at how awesome this truck is. As far as ambiance, it's a taco truck, what ambiance is there other than it's nice to sit under the old drive-through in the parking lot!
