We had the best time whale watching! The boat only holds 6 people, and it's very low on the water. So, you avoid sea sickness, you get a little wet, and you are right in the middle of the whale feeding grounds. It was amazing! We had multiple sightings of humpback whales, plus a frenzy of sea lions and birds that share the feeding ground. We also saw some very rare harbor porpoises! Our skipper also gave us a thrill by doing a high speed donut with the boat just inside the harbor. Of course, we saw the otters and wildlife in the bay heading out and back into dock. Our skipper was very knowledgable and personable; he was conversational rather than lecturing. We had the greatest time, and we'll be back for more. As of 8/13/2022: $85pp for 90 minutes up close and personal with wildlife I wanted my jacket & gloves; my wife was happy in just a Tshirt. Weather varies. Captain Beau and deckhand Kai were very nice and knowledgable. Kai would always check in on passengers offering refreshment, blankets and giving us facts about grey and humpback whales. Not a lot to see until our way back to dock when two massive humpback whales finally showed themselves. Captain Beau did his best to get us close (within a safe distance) to the whales. Such a fun trip! We opted for the tiki bar cruise and we're not disappointed. Our captain was awesome, cracking jokes, sharing history, and we even got to see some whales off in the distance at the end of the cove. She pointed out their blows and we saw some tails! Never thought we would get that opportunity on a tiki boat, but so glad we did. We also saw lots of otters and seal lions! A must do if you are visiting Morro Bay. Took an harbor cruise which was 45 minutes for only $25. The two men who took us were very informative about harbor sea life: harbor seals, and the many otters close up. They offered beer and wine for sale. It was nice get so close to the otters. read more

Last minute decided to try a little boat tour before leaving the area. I called the number on Yelp and got a quick answer and confirmation that there was space on the sunset tiki bar boat ride at 6:45pm on a Saturday. We checked in at 6:30pm and paid $30 per person for an hour ride around the bay. The drink in the souvenir cup was $25 and refills in the cup were $20 each. There was no narration for this ride but the staff was willing to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend this boat ride! read more

My husband and I took the Tiki sunset cruise last week and we had a blast. We checked in with David inside their shop and he was very informative and helpful. We got on the boat at 7pm. The boat looks like a floating tiki bar-so fun! The seat were comfortable and we all had plenty of room. Mike was our bartender and made some great drinks. They have a classic tiki bar menu but you can also order anything else you'd like. Grant was our captain and between him and Mike they provided a very fun evening. Unfortunately, it was foggy as heck so we did not see a sunset. We did, however, see lots of wildlife-sea otters, harbor seals, sea lions, herons and cormorants. I would highly recommend checking these guys out and taking a ride! Also, I get sea sick and it was really nice to have an option to get on the water without having to endure possible sea sickness. read more

We really didn't know what we were going to do when it came to trolling around the bay, and they made it super easy and affordable. The entire trip driving around the bay was so relaxing and beautiful that I have to say it may be my new favorite thing to do in Morro. read more

Comes out of the cabin and actually talks to the passengers. Saw a gray whale and a mom and baby humpback whale. Awesome experience for our vacation here at Morro bay. We went whale watching with Capt. Dane (I think), and naturalist/first mate Emily. We had a great time and did see some whales. One of the whales was tangled in a crab trap, and Emily contacted NOAA and explained how they would help the whale. Very educational. My only suggestion would be a P.A. system on the boat as it was very hard to hear Emily over the boat motors. read more

Very disappointed in our experience with you today. Compared to our last adventure today was terrible. Our last experience included a lot of valuable and interesting information about Morro Bay in general and the aquatic life of the bay. The captain was very knowledgeable and very articulate and quite a contrast to today. The captain of today's trip spent most of his time talking and visiting with the people in the first two rows. We were further back and could hear very little of what he was saying. This was not the case on our last visit a year ago. Even the kid taking our reservation yesterday was unskilled and frustrating to talk to. Don't know what's going on with your company but it's not good and I will not recommend you in the future nor will I spend any more money with you. We were told that the group on board determines what information is given by the captain. That is so lame and so unprofessional. How do you discern what people want from a tour? We did not fill out any kind of a questionnaire to let you know what we were expecting. Most of your passengers probably have no previous experience with you and don't know any better but for those of us who know what you used to be today was a huge disappointment. It appears that your new staff are sorely lacking in proper training. But that seems to be par for the course these days for most businesses. read more

We took the Tiki Boat tour. This is a great thing to do in Morro Bay! We did it once with our family during our Thanksgiving stay in Cambria, and another one three weeks later with friends as a birthday celebration. It's wonderful to learn about the wildlife in the harbor and the good fishing and conservation programs that are in place. Captain Dane taught us so much and was very patient and fun with our grandchildren. The drinks looked terrific and the pours were beyond generous. So relaxing to cruise around the harbor, enjoy the drinks (we also brought snacks!) and see the otters, seals and birds. Dog friendly! $7 per pup and $18 per adult meant a $50 adventure for our family of 4 (2 humans, 2 dogs) for a 45 minute ride around Morro bay. It was our first time taking our dogs on a boat so that was fun even though they weren't serving cocktails due to covid. Informational and very friendly staff gives you a tour of the bay as they navigate through kayakers, past the cutest southern sea otters and the stinky sea lions! Our boat was pretty full as this is a popular vendor and masks are required at this time. I tend to get seasick and luckily didn't feel sick at all on this short but fun adventure! Logistics: free parking on streets/lots nearby. Buy tickets at their office and wait outside near the railing before your booked time. They'll direct you when you board. There is a ramp down to the dock and a step you'll need to take to get on the boat. read more

Came to morro bay for the first time my family and I have never been on a boat. This was a last minute thing planned, safe to say they're very humorous with their jokes about people flying out (has never) happened lol but my family was terrified they made it such a great experience! I have taken this excursion @5 times so far since I travel to Morro Bay twice yearly. I have enjoyed the cruise a great deal. However, my latest experience was absolutely the worst. Tristan, our captain, provided very little information about the history of the area and spent most of the time talking about the private yachts in the harbor and chatting with the bartender. She did not interact with the passengers at all and did not encourage conversation or questions. Previously, I enjoyed the harbor cruise and the local historical information provided by the captain. This was not my latest experience. To make matters worse, I was charged $15 to hold my dog on my lap during the entirety of the cruise. Children were charged $15 and they were also able to roam about the ship. They had separate seats and were not sitting on their parents laps. The tiki cruise served $15 alcoholic beverages which consisted of predominantly ice.for a very small sized drink. All in all, I felt extremely disappointed in the quality of the cruise and felt the price of drinks as well as the fee for my dog to be an absolute rip off I will not be taking another tiki cruise during any future visits. read more

Such a great morning! We did the 2-3 hour whale watching tour with Dane and his crew-absolutely amazing. Dane is a great captain-friendly, energetic, funny as well as knowledgeable about the local wildlife. He also prioritized making sure everyone had a good time and was well taken care of-especially those who got sea sick. We lucked out and had a great day-saw lots of whales and sea lions feeding and breaching! Just stunning. This fun little adventure facility is located between the Anderson Inn and Roses bar & grill. You can go whale watching, sunset cruise, rent your own private boat, or my favorite, go on the tiki cruise. If your looking to rent any of these, specially the tiki cruise I would recommend you go earlier in the day and reserve your spot as the spots fill up fast. This time around we tried to rent a cruise on the tiki boat, but it was later in the day (after 3:30pm) so we were told they were all sold out and we would have to come back the next day. Some of their private boats were available, but we were adamant we wanted to take the kids on the tiki cruise. We didn't feel like driving the boat, and we wanted to enjoy some adult drinks while out in the water, which you could do on the tiki boat. As my wife and I pondered on getting the private boat, we decided we would just come back the next day, so I went back into the office to see what time they opened. The lady then informed me that someone had just cancelled on them, and they could fit us into their last ride of the day. Yayyyyy we were so excited! It was $25 for adults and $15 for kids for a grand total of $70 for a family of four. The tour takes you out in the water, gives a little history of the city and you also get to see sea otters and sea lions. It was so much fun watching them as you can see them all playing with one another. The tour last a total of :45 minutes, but the time flies while your on it. The boat is very well maintained and the staff on board is very attentive and awesome!!! The family enjoyed the tour very much and glad we were able to take part in it once again. read more
