What an exciting experience! We were honestly a little reluctant to purchase whale watching tickets since there's no guarantee that we would actually see a whale. We found a Groupon deal, which brought the cost down a little. Before buying tickets I figured I should ask if any whales had been spotted recently and I was told that they have been seen almost daily since the whales are in constant migration throughout the year. Still a little reluctant, but bought tickets for 1:30 and I'm so glad I did. The crew was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and informative. They knew exactly how far out to go (about 3 miles out) and floated us near multiple whales. Closest one was around 20 yds from the boat. This was our first whale watching outing for my whole family and Lost Isle definitely delivered. Well worth the money. Looking forward to doing it again for sure. read more

My wife and I went on a whale watching experience with Lost Isle yesterday and we had a great time. We got started right on time and the spotter was super nice, welcoming everyone, offering ginger to anyone that didn't feel well and giving us a ton of information about marine life. We went a little over time because they were having a hard time finding a while but we eventually found one, we got a small glimpse but it was staying under or just on the surface a lot so not much to see. We did get a great look at some river otters, we had a pack of sea lions swimming alongside the boat for a while which was so cool to watch. We had a great time and it's definitely something we'd consider doing again. They told us they typically have a little better luck with the early tours so we just need to get up earlier and be ready to go next time lol. read more

While on vacation, my friend and I went in a boat ride of Morro Bay. The reservation was super easy to make. I called day-of and was able to book a tour. I traveled here in spring, so I don't know what summer bookings look like. The ride is about an hour long. We went on the booze Tiki cruise. The drinks were rather large. They offered two sizes, we got the smaller size and that was perfect for me. I was super excited that I was able to bring my dog! I paid for my 2 dogs, I only brought on (the other is 18 and he had been out all day, he was asleep in his kennel). They don't do Refunds, but I was supposed to get a drink pass, but I don't think I did? I didn't realize until way later, though. There was also a goat on the cruise! I like to call it, "The Story of a Dog, a Goat and a Boat". I think the boat only held about 22 or 24 people. It wasn't super cold on the boat. We were pretty shielded. Remember, people might be drinking, so it can get loud! I'm giving them 5 stars just on the fact that I could bring my dog! I can't say that she loved it (she was scared, she had never been on a boat before), but thank you for a fun experience. read more

We got lucky with beautiful clear and calm day. Saw both Blue and Humpback whales. The boat ride itself was fantastic with an informative and friendly guide. It's a pricey excursion for just a 45 minute float around the harbor, but it seems worth it for some serious vibes and some on the water views of the wildlife complete with a drink. A floating tiki bar takes you out for a ride, the driver narrates with details about the town, animals, and giant volcanic plug known as the Morro Rock. My husband and I booked the 2 pm harbor cruise with our almost 3 year old daughter. We ended up being the only people on the cruise before the rush. We've been before when the boat was full and that's super fun too- but this was amazing for our toddler. Captain Bruce and his first mate Johnny were incredible. We have been to Morro Bay a few times now. I did not know until our most recent trip that there are daily boat tours around the calmer waters in the harbor area. Since it was my dad's birthday, we decided to book a reservation for our family. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon for a tiki cruise boat tour. Lost Isle Adventures is located in a nice area along the wharf in beautiful Morro Bay. Parking is accessible along the streets and parking lots. The tiki boat looked fun and inviting for families. There was a thatch roof which was perfect for shade which I appreciated. Our boat was fairly big enough to fit about 22 or more passengers. The boat captain was welcoming and friendly. He did a great job looking for marine wildlife and cruising the scenic harbor route along side the majestic Morro rock as the backdrop. The bartender was very nice and knowledgeable. He did a great job making some tasty tiki cocktails and mocktails. He also made sure to answer all our questions. They both definitely made our tiki cruise so enjoyable and memorable. Overall we enjoyed our experience with Lost Isle Adventures. The staff were great and made it very worthwhile. The price point for both the tiki cruise and tiki drinks was more than fair. The boat tour was about 45 minutes long which was more than enough time to relax and see the area. Witnessing the sea otters and sea lions up close made our kids' day. This weekend activity was definitely a major highlight from our recent trip to the Central Coast. So much fun! Check in was easy, boat left on time, small-ish boat with not too many people, staff was great, one guy came and told us about whales, and the company sent out a boat earlier and told us where the whales were so we didn't have to go find them. We also saw super cute sea otters sleeping in the bay and got to see the sea lions up close too. I really appreciated that staff was a good steward of the ocean by giving the sea otters, whales, and sea lions space and not being loud or revving the boat engine. read more

My husband and I are so happy we took the Sunset Tiki Cruise on Morro Bay for his birthday last week. Captain Ricky and our bartender Gunner are very knowledgeable regarding the local ecosystem, history and threats to the local marine life. We paused to watch the sea lions and otters, making several circles around the bay to identify points of interest. And then of course, there was the party atmosphere! My husband and I stepped into a shop to look around and the clerk asked if we were checking in. We were very confused at first but apparently they do little harbor tours on this little tiki bar/boat. It was only $25 per adult. We decided to sign up for the 5:00pm tour. My husband didn't want to at first but once we did it, he was very pleased with the experience. We learned some interesting facts about Morro Rock and went home with some cute tiki souvenir cups. They don't short change you on the drinks!!! The staff was super nice and it was a fun experience. We booked the tiki boat cruise on our mini road trip. Sunset cruise was booked so we selected the hr before. So not worth it! We board the boat, drink order was taken, and didn't receive our drinks till the end of the cruise. Too short of a cruise; not worth $26 cruise tickets and $86 for 3 tiki drinks filled w/ 90% juice. Saw the Tiki boats on a previous trip and was interested but did not have time to stop. Me and the girls were visiting the central cost and decided to try out the Lost Isle Adventures Tiki bar boat and it was so much fun! Not only is the boat ride kid friendly but it is also pet friendly and Stella even made a few friends in the boat:) drinks were good and of average pricing the tour guide and bartender were very entertaining and had lots of info about the bay and wildlife. Exceptional time!! My husband Bruce and I opted for a three o'clock harbor tour on the tiki boat. Dane , who checked us in, was so gracious and friendly and professionally answered all of my questions about safety concerns... Captain Bruce and bartender Kevin were entertaining as hell! And informative! This was 45 minutes of pure fun and adventure. At 74 (almost) and 75..we don't often do things like this. We enjoyed watching the sea lions and and getting a close up view of Morro Rock. The drinks were moderately priced, made and distributed by Kevin. Blankets and life vests were free of charge. We were disappointed when our tour came to an end.But we plan to do this again next time.
