If you are considering a monthly stay here, please read this first. The Facility: Not What Is Advertised Don't be fooled by the website. Most of the photos are years old and do not represent the current state of the park. The listed amenities are completely inaccurate. * Maintenance: Basic upkeep is outsourced and neglected. Repairs often result in days without water. * Sanitation: There were major sewer leaks that flowed into the bayou and went unnoticed by management for over a week. * Cleanliness: The cleaning crew only appears about every two weeks. The laundry rooms and showers are filthy, and the mailroom is dusty, gross, and completely unkempt. Management: Unprofessional and Disturbing The manager, Wendy Kreps, is incredibly problematic. She and her husband (who she treats like a doormat) run this place with zero integrity. * Privacy Concerns: There are cameras everywhere, but they aren't for your safety; we discovered they are used to spy on residents in private areas. * Inappropriate Behavior: Wendy makes extremely "disgusting" and inappropriate jokes regarding her pets and is known to behave inappropriately with maintenance staff right in front of her husband. The "Exit" Incident & Financial Red Flags Our departure was nothing short of a horror story. * Extortion Tactics: As we were leaving, Wendy had her husband block the exit with a vehicle, claiming we owed money for a "light bill." When asked for the amount, she clearly made up a random number on the spot and demanded cash only. * Police Involvement: We had to call the police to even leave the property. She lied to the officers, which resulted in us being trespassed from a park where we had been consistent, paying monthly residents. * The Deposit Scam: We paid our initial deposit in cash and never received a receipt. Now that we've left, she has refused to refund our deposit (amounting to twice the standard rate). Bottom Line: This park is managed by someone who is dishonest and unstable. Between the lack of water, the sewer leaks, and the "shakedown" for cash at the exit, this has been a nightmare. Save your money and your sanity--stay anywhere else.

Sites are immaculate with lush, green grass surrounding the concrete pads. Chris and Bunnie were very attentive, but never intrusive. Chris even came over after hours to check us in and even helped us back into our spot (we're newbies)! There's no where else that can compare, Lazy Pelican is where you'll find us from now on when we visit Crystal Beach!!

They have a restroom, shower, and complimentary laundry facility while you stay. The park is walking distance to the beach - a huge bonus. They have a covered area to hang out in, and there has been a few small gatherings with music from other campers to end a great beach day. Everyone is respectful of quiet hours and each others belongings. We couldn't imagine our beach vacation anywhere else!

While we were there, the adjacent property had construction equipment running all day, and they were tearing down trees along the water's edge outside the park fence and leveling the ground. Our site was on the East side backed up to the property under construction. The noise didn't bother us too much as it was mostly during the day. I walked my leashed pup around the park a few times a day. They had pet clean up stations around the park to pick up after your pet. There was a pavilion with BBQ grill that you could use, as well as a playground for the kids. They also had a pool up by the office inside a gated area with rules posted. It was a good stop on our trip and I may return again if I'm in the area.

We stayed here 7 months and loved every moment! The park is clean, it has great amenities, and is PROFESSIONALLY managed with ONSITE managers. We we're able to go INTO the park office and retrieve our mail, (not find it laying in the laundry room for anyone to grab, ahem, HERV) or speak to a manager, PLUS WE COULD CALL a manager outside of office hours if needed. All the things that mean a lot as far as service goes. Our spot was on the water, so lovely! Hope to be back in this area again. Definitely recommend.

While it is a pack em in RV park the staff is super nice and the park is very well maintained. I would recommend trying to get a corner spot like A1, B1 etc as then you have no one to one side of you and make it feel a lot less cramped. Most of the spaces are pull throughs and are full hookups. They seem to have a few permanent residents, which is typically a bad sign, however there lots were clean and well maintained. After eyeing a few other RV parks in the area I must say Houston East RV was the best looking one. Their daily rate, while a bit high, seems on par with other RV parks in the area. If you do the week you get a nice discount and they also honor Good Sam memberships. There is a large shopping plaza down the street with a Walmart and a bunch of restaurants, movies etc. It's about 40min from downtown Houston in an industrial area. I would recommend it for a night or more.

It's out of town so it's quiet and peaceful. They do have a laundry room but no shower or pool. If you want to play in the water they have a water hose.
