This is by my job and I still come here to this day! I searched around and found these nice tin boxes of buttered cookies. These tin boxes have a nice Christmas and winter season design that play music! They're also lit up too! I cannot believe I found these from Lot Less. Although, it is $10, I cannot believe they are available here. It can be a very nice gift for someone. Other than that, Lot Less has a lot of Christmas decorations with stand up Christmas decor dolls, ornaments, and trees for sale. They're all in the basement with some stuff on the first floor. Too bad this location got no elevator. You got to walk down the stairs so it's not handicap friendly. Also today I came across Michael Kors purses. I cannot believe they carry Michael Kors purses. They were pricey though! Around $80! That's still somewhat expensive. I thought they would be around $30. I did not like the design that much. They were very plain and suit older ladies or the older generation. The best thing about Lot Less is that they carry a lot of household essentials like toothpaste. A standard bottle of Colgate toothpaste costs $2.99 each in Lot Less! It's a lot cheaper and affordable than your regular drug store. So this is my to go place to get stuff like toothpaste and soap. read more

July 15, 2025 I absolutely love this place for shopping. It's very addictive. However, my experience today was awful. I went to return an item for 6.99 this location was at the Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City. The manager proceeded to tell me that she had to check the camera to see if the item was damaged before I made the purchase. What an insult to my intelligence to review the camera for such a small item. The policy does not state that it's up to the manager to decide whether or not we can exchange or get a refund for all items. this is not the first time I had to deal with returning or exchanging an item. Lot Less Closeouts on Chambers Street is another store I've reviewed and posted a lot of photos in the past. It's a great discount store when I need items like pillows, pillow cases wash clothes, and hand towels. They have lots of cosmetics and food items. Like the other Lot Less Stores there's a wide variety of merchandise. The merchandise offered changes. It's a store I take time looking through all the shelves. I've never had a problem with customer service when I need help in the aisle or at check out. I'm recommending. read more

I don't buy a ton of stuff at stores like this, but maybe I will with inflation on the rise. I recently picked up some wash cloths at about 6 for $3 and some crackers at $1.99 that were about 2 weeks past their expiration date but tasted just fine. They have a little bit of everything here. Only one register person but had one person upstairs and downstairs. I'll give them another visit and might save the day if prices continue to rise everywhere else. read more

Great Store Chain. Requires repeated visits to get all of the bargains, however, there is always something I find. Good quality merchandise. The one exception is the socks. Although I have found the best socks at the best prices ever at Lot-Less, generally their sock selection is poor and poor quality. Everything else, all sections, have good stuff often. Keep going and you will find treasures. My entire wardrobe is from Lot-Less and I have enough clothing to last me the rest of my life stored away. read more

I have been shopping in this store for many years....last night I met the rudeness cashier name Michelle...not only bad manners but spoke in Spanish to complaint about me. A simple apology due to her yelling in my ear but have corrected the problem.....Years of dealing with mature and wonderful ladies to get the younger generation impolite characters....they take the joy of shopping away....the manager needs to give some training in dealing with customers.....I spoke to several customer and they feel the same way I do......keeping happy and wanting to come is important in this day and age.....good customer keep your business open...the merchandise and great....only thing watch out for the expiration dates....... read more

It's a closeout store so don't expect much. if you are lucky to come when new merch arrives you might get a bunch of good stuff. Don't expect you can buy if again. Most of the time once the items is sold is sold. Prices are cheaper compared to target/marshalls or other discounted store. Quality of the items may vary too. read more

Their clothing and toy products are usually good - usually name brands as discounts. Gets CRAZY crowded at lunchtime. The cashiers are usually extremely rude. Reysa or Raysa is the WORST! I almost threw up she was talking about bathroom matters and she is soooo rude to the customers! For this reason, I cannot ever return to this Lot Less. Instead, I'll go to the Lot Less on the corner of Broadway and Duane St. Probably the same owners but at least the service is nicer. read more

I usually don't have high expectations for bargain stores, but this place surprised me. I read all the reviews on yelp and decided to give it a try. True, there are some shady characters in the store, but you just have to overlook that. Just keep focused, and find that bargain lurking in the dark! LOL. I came into this store on Wednesday 8/1. Shaniqua, the cashier who rang up my purchases, was so unprofessional. She was so rude, slammed my change down on the counter then stuffed over $75 worth of items into the smallest bag. I asked if I could have a bigger bag and she said "I don't have a bigger bag" real nasty. I went to the cashier right next to her who gave me a bag. Lots of stuff to buy for home or office. Snacks, batteries, bed sheets, cookware, sauces, an umbrella for those rainy days, all very cheap prices. Some are brand named and others have names that I've never heard of but quality and price is all within a good range. Up until last year, I was depressed that there was no quality discount store in the city. But one day as I was walking to Chinatown from Stuyvesant High School I noticed one of the best 9 letter words ever--closeout. Designer clothes, home goods, and electronics galore! This store has some pretty awesome things and all sold for very reasonable prices. If you're looking for some good items for a fraction of the retail price, do yourself a favor and check out this store (this branch in particular because it's larger and better organized than it's other sister stores). However, I will warn readers that the inventory is constantly changing so if you see something you like, it would be in your best interest to make that spontaneous purchase since it may not be there later. read more

3.5 stars I'm a real fan of this store there's few things to complain about here. Because Lot Less doesn't really specialize in any particular category of item each section has a very limited amount of selections so I wouldn't come here with any specific goal in mind, rather have the mind set of going to a dollar store to see the bargains and find an unexpected deal. The prices here are very cheap and the only thing more surprising than the prices is their cleanliness and well stocked aisles. The most selections here are their bedding, tupperware, and miscellaneous houseware items but they also have selections of movies, clothes, food, toys, random electronics, luggage, and even small pieces of furniture. read more

Living in one of the priciest cities in the US, this store is a heaven sent. I do go here Weekly to purchase all my houshold/beauty/cleaning/cooking/even electronic needs! I admit that there is a lot of Junk here but it's definitely better priced than your local target or even Duane Reade. I have scored countless bargins here and I prefer this location over the one on Broadway. When times rough and you are tight on cash - it's definitely a place for all your shopping needs. I've scored yoga pants for $5 - they are decent quality and will not become transparent when you bend over from behind. I've scored salon nail effects for $3 - but they are last season's designs. Actually a lot of the stuff is from the previous season they have John Frieda shampoo and conditioner for $2 - that's crazy cheap. You can get a lot of the other herbal essence type shampoos for around the same price too. You can get pillows, shower curtains, cooking pots, a synthesizer even here. Finally a modern, hip closeout store! The newest of the chain and largest location! 2 floors and 16,000 square feet just for us. If you hate lines, this is the place. They have clerks on both floors to get you in and out. The selection at each location is extensive and diverse. The best part is they carry popular brands you want. When I was there, they had stocked everything from Bratz dolls, Halloween costumes, kitchen towels, iHome players, food steamers, CD's, shoes, make-up, clothing men and women, bedding, curtains, etc. Definitely worth the trip! I have affectionately dubbed Lot Less "The Garbage Store" but the moniker is a bit harsh. What I mean is that the items are so cheap, they're practically disposable. This bi-level hodge podge shop has such a variety of "stuff you never knew you needed." My favorite part is that they offer brand name close out items, like NY & Co, Rachel Roy, Ann Taylor Loft and Cold Water Creek. The downstairs is all housewares priced to move. But be warned! Some of their made in China 99 cent coffee mugs say "leaded - not for use with food or drink," although they're billed as coffee mugs. The prices are definitely worth it! First time here and was so amazed at the prices especially for the snacks which is what I was in there for! However it is pretty tight and they have boxes just lying around in the middle of the floor so it's messy and a hazard. The cashier also don't hand you the receipt which is odd they just lie it down on the table. Sorta of threw it at me when my purchase was finished. Since she was an old Indian lady I didn't not say anything about it but she was rude next time would definitely speak up. They need to learn how to bag stuff too!! i was in the lower west side of manhattan and notice a lot less closeout shop and its time to go in. two level store thats bigger and has more stuff then my usual astoria location. while i browse around its also good to remember , here today and gone tommorow and make room for new stuff. as i walked around the main and lower level i grabbed some hand towels, mens socks, mini waste baskets , 2 pack of keychain flashlights and a few other cheaply priced goods. place is crowded and checkout took a while as the line was long. for 57 bucks i got a bunch of stuff and most will be used for sure. read more

Lot Less has a brand new sign in store that states clearly they are not affiliated with any other store that has the word LESS in it... but moving on.. just what TriBeCa needs, a discount store... Prices: The best in the neighborhood. Toy prices go up just in the month of December; I like to think it's coincidental but I am beginning to think they are taking advantage of the Christmas Spirit ::eye roll:: Products: Constantly changing! One day you will find real Kenneth Cole pants for 8 bucks the next day you will find Betty Boop pajamas for 2 bucks the next day you will find Hollister's sweatshirts from 2 years ago for 10 bucks, etc you get the point. Just be prepared, don't be upset to see that you bought something and the next day the price has been lowered 80% off, that's how it goes, no refunds, no complaints... Just go to Lot Less do the shopping an don't come back til the week after to avoid frustrations.. Also note you can find some great deals on food and snacks here. I once bought Snickers Marathon bars (box of 8) for 2 bucks. Nutri-grain bars for 99 cents. Drinks for 59 cents. They also have great deals on real foods like Couscous, Pasta, Sauce, etc. Workers: They are organizing all day long, sure they probably aren't the most helpful people but it's a deep discount place, be a pirate and find your own treasure. Atmosphere: Do not attempt to go shopping during the day, especially during lunch time. The lines are crazy and even walking around the store is very hectic ESPECIALLY during the holiday season. BECAREFUL WITH THE EXPIRED FOOD! This store may sell stuff on the cheap, but there is a reason why! A lot of their food have very near expiration dates or the food has already expired. You must check the expiration on the bottom of the package!!! I tried to return a box of chocolate recently because it was clear the chocolate had expired! BUT management said there is no returns or exchanges on food!!!! They put this tiny tiny sign near check out that states there is no return or exchange on food and claim that is why I can't return the expired chocolates! I know the real reason why they do not allow you to return or exchange food bc they either have expired already or about to expire. No other place will sell expired food and the fact they don't let you return it is just so outrageous!!!!! read more

If you are nearby, this is the kind of place that you need to visit once per week. Why? Well, not only do they carry most of the things everyone needs for their personal Hygiene and home but they have a constant turnover of new things. The worst times to go are during the hours of 12-2 and 4-6. The place is frequently visited and for good reason. When i moved, I needed shower curtains. I went to a department store and paid $30 for a cloth curtain that I was particularly fond of only to visit Lot Less the next day to kill time during lunch and find a very similar cloth curtain for $7.99. Guess what I returned the following day? Sure, some of the products at Lot Less are on their last legs, like the all natural organic peanut butter you bought for $2 will expire in 6 months...but you are making a peanut butter pie later so its quite a steal. And the box of 10 Fiber One Bars that retails for $12 that you bought for $5. Yeah. its worth it. I often come in here to kill time when i need to get out of the office. Sure its crowded but its filled with things you didnt know you needed until you saw them there! Like my bathmat shaped like a foot with the pumice and scrubber attached. I totally need that! And it was only $3.99! The cashiers move at lightning speed here. The lines are long but dont worry, they keep shelves of goodies that you mindlessly pick up because they are only $1 along the line to make time fly by. read more

I absolutely LOVE bargain stores and Lot Less is one of the most organized "junk stores" I've ever patronized. It's not messy, you can find things and the prices are incredible. You can get EVERYTHING here and I mean EVERYTHING! From shampoo to doggie beds to neoprene netbook covers. They have it all. You will walk out of here almost every time with at least a few items. Some of the deals in here just cannot be passed up. I am a frequent visitor here and when I found out about it, I almost dropped to my knees and praised God that there was an affordable store in my neighborhood where I can actually get things cheaper than at say, Target or KMart. Anyway, Lot Less is great. You can find what you need here and even stuff you don't need too. My best buy here: Cedar wood dog gates for only $14.99! I was able to dog proof my apartment spending a lot less (get it!?) than the one I had bought at PETCO and these are much nicer! One of my favorite stores, hands down! I get some great deals on snacks and foodstuffs that are either overstocks, were too expensive retail, or just flavors that no one else likes. **This week 8/1/09, is 'high fiber week' apparently. The good people at FiberOne made too damn many granola/cereal bars and cinnamon/brown sugar 'pop-tart' variations. So it's a buyer's market! If you find something at a good price, load up on it. What? Oh come on. The person behind you is doing that. I watched a woman literally do an arm sweep of an entire row of Old el Paso soft taco dinner kits (99 cents each) directly into her wagon without a second thought. From blank DVD's, extra cell chargers, batteries, a knit hat for the day you didn't think was going to be so cold, or any other crap you can think up, you can probably get it here. Again, if you see it, snatch it up. Impulse buys are mandatory, because when it's gone, it's gone. Lines move fast as there are 8-10 fast and friendly cashiers lookin to get your ass through double-quick. Also far enough from work I can get in and out with a nice lunctime walk. Guilty pleasure #427 I admit it. I love God-awful discount closeout stores. I became afflicted with this disease while living in the TriBeCa/Financial District area where discount stores of all sorts exist. Everything from Century 21 to Syms to Mr. Closeout (sweet name, I should review that place too) etc.. This Lot-Less location (fancy that alliteration) is actually very large (2 floors) and rather bright and clean for a nasty discount store. Now typically, like 9 times out of 10, while I'm drawn into these sort of stores like a moth to a flame or a women to a shoe store, I almost NEVER buy anything. Lets face it, 95% of what they sell is cheap inferior crap or tacky chachkis. But today, I bought a 1.5 POUND bag of Ghirardelli chocolates for only $3.99, and miraculously it hadnt even expired yet!!! I also bought a 6-foot by 4-foot fleece blanket for $4.99 that will be perfect for those nights when I'm comfy on my leather couch and cant muster the energy involved to make it the "formidable" six feet to my bed. Might as well be six miles in the Nairobi desert without a canteen at that point, it just aint happening. All in all, for a discount store I thought they had some surprisingly nice things, as a 2-purchase trip for me at one of these places is a rare event. read more

This is a mecca for those who like better quality discounted merchandise. Forget the 99c stores. Here you'll find Hello Kitty computer cases(oh, who can resist Hello kitty??),ipod covers, Ipad covers, Calvin Klein exercise pants and tops...get it now? This is no place that sells cheaply made merchandise for cheap...if you shop carefully, you will find brand names and closeouts.The store is clean, organized and just fun to browse in. A tip for shoppers--the key to getting a buy is to pop in often if you work in the area or are just close by. I once hipped my sister to dirt cheap brand name sneakers(I forgot the name, not being a sneaker wearer) and ending up buying mom a set. Stuff goes fast. If you find something good, snap it up! The food, as long as you check the expiration date, is as good as anything you will find in the grocery store. read more

Working around the corner from here is a curse and a blessing. Alot of great deals! From touch screen sensitive winter gloves to bamboo cutting boards, you will be surprised how much you can save on items you might need. The low prices lure me into the store, almost daily during my lunch break. My wallet tucked deep in my back pocket, so to avoid unwanted spending. My eyes looking over the savings from shelf to shelf. I have taught myself to make note of items and if I do ever need to buy something, this is my first place to shop around when comparing prices. Right down the street is also Less Less, which is much smaller, but sometimes might have a single item your looking to buy for less. Good comparison shopping location on Chambers. Love this place. Everything you need in one store! It's neat and organized (before lunch hours) and their prices really are perfect. One of my gripes woiuld be that if you find a great deal here, once they run out, chances are they won't have it again. As if they get their products off the back of a truck. lol. I had found these flushable baby wipes here for $1. I'm the type of person that keeps wipes behind my toilet, and I spend $5 on the store brand Duane Reade ones. I bought 10 packs of these. So much random crap. When I say crap, I mean off-brand products of questionable quality. You know the type of store - As Seen on TV stuff, no-name electronics, Made In China stuff, Target brand products being resold, past season and overstock clothes, etc. But they also have the occasional quality products, especially in housewares. If you're looking for something super specific, they might have it, but they also might not. Was a really big fan of the downstairs area, with lots of organization tools, kitchenware, shelving furniture, and tons of curtains (for both windows and showers). I love this place! I admit I'm a lover of discount stores in general, but this one is clean, and has a great selection! PLUS, lines move quickly. This location is definitely better than the one around the corner. Make sure you come back often - I come almost every other day - because the selection changes. If you see something, buy it ASAP as it may not be there if you wait. I like that the selection frequently changes because I often find stuff I didn't even know I needed! I've bought everything from hangers to sports bras to dishware to boots to peanut butter to hats and scarves. Their selection is great and you can usually get name brand items for less than half its true cost. read more

Based on yelp reviews I really went out of my way to stop by this store, expecting something like TJ Maxx, Burlington CF etc... However there are much more household/home items than (brand) clothes. The winter coats were all mixed together, missing price tags etc. And I couldnt find personnel to help me out. Honestly, I couldnt find anything in here... Might be a good bargain store for a certain style of shopping, but not mine. Looks like you have to be lucky to find quality items here at bargain prices. I first stumbled upon this store when I was working down the street and decided to explore the area. It's a good size location, once you get past the front section of the store. It's your typical discount department store with some off brand and knock off items. They sell clothes and some electronics/appliances. It's a good place to pick up inexpensive items like underwear, shirts, cotton balls, etc. I've never purchased anything over $10 here because I believe you get what you pay for when you purchase electronics from a discount department store. But it really is a store worth stopping in to check out. read more
