This place is good we usually get delivery when we feel like eating Chinese food. This is a way better option than Tasty Goody or Panda Express. We usually order the beef chow mein and the fried rice with the Kung Pao chicken. The Kung Pao chicken is really good totally recommend that dish. I received a flyer in the mail long ago. I had it in my mind I would like to try this place even though It is a distance. I finally got around to it and was looking on yelp mainly to help me find the place. I almost got discouraged by some of the negative reviews, but upon further investigation, many of the negative had to do with their delivery service and many of the people seem to speak highly of the food. To make a long story short I'm glad I tried it. I'm always looking for kung pao chicken that is a little cut above most of the fast food places and I found it here. It had a decent quantity of some nice, fresh not overcooked vegetables and peanuts, Nice flavor and spice, very tasty. The hostess/waitress was very nice and friendly. Only negative that I'm forced to mention my wife went to use the restroom and she said it was a real mess in there which can always leave a poor impression. It was 8:45 at night, and it was a sauna in this place. 3-4 employees were standing behind the counter and no one greeted us. We assumed that meant to seat ourselves, so we did. Stay away! This place is not good at all. None of the pictures match the food they give you. The orange chicken is dark brown and tastes nothing like orange chicken. The sweet and sour chicken is soggy, the "dumplings" turned out to be potstickers that were undercooked and 2 of my 3 meals had hair in them. SO GROSS! I rely on a good hot and sour soup when I get sick. New China closed in upland so I went to lotus for it today for my tummy. I call this soup my Chinese penicillin. However I was deeply disappointed in lotus' version. It tasted hot and bitter taste NOT sour and lacked the usual pork you get in this soup. OMG! It was so good when first opened. Last night the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I ordered MuShu pork, They served it in flour tortillas so the filling fell out. That was ok since the filling tasted burned. I ordered chow fun beef, it was greasy and stuck together. I also ordered Chicken curry it was so dry I could not eat it. Yelp has a great option to put in pick up and shows you the places that's available. Found Lotus Garden and viewed the menu. They had " healthy" under many items on the menu. I have not written a review in some time but the Lotus Garden is in need of some Yelp justice. It was a Sunday night around 8:45PM and the local Chinese restaurant would have been closed before I got there. Lotus Garden was the only restaurant in the area that not only delivered but was open at the time that I needed. Having been an avid user of Yelp over the last several years, I almost thought twice before ordering due to the lack of stars in their reviews. The only problem was, the craving for Chinese food completely outweighed the middle of the road rating so I dug deeper into the quality and quantity of stars given. After reading through the majority of the poor reviews, a pattern started to form. The preponderance of one star reviews had common elements, some of which I'll touch upon below; The Lotus Garden is a Chinese restaurant, so immediately I'm going to discount any review on food items that are not associated with that genre cooking. To set the record straight, Teriyaki is Japanese for slices of glazed(Teri) and broiled(Yaki) meats. Even if the review is well written and on point, if the reviewer lacks any reviews or friends, their review would hold water like a colander. That being said, there were some observations regarding the service that ring true. The lady who took our my order over the phone did seem to be a bit rude, but who am I to pass judgement over a single phone conversation? She took my order and asked if I wanted anything else. She repeated the entire order after I had expressed that I was finished, so I could say that the phone call was conducted professionally. Since we have discussed the positive and negative patterns of the previous reviews, let's move forward with my opinion of this establishment. I have consumed my weight in Chinese food several times over again, over the numerous decades of my life on this planet. I consider myself a fan of the stuff, from the most simple of Mabo Dofu down to the secret Fat Tiu Cheung. The Lotus Garden is quality Chinese food with above average prices. Their delivery service is above average with fast delivery times and high quality travel containers. The delivery charge is low in comparison to other delivery services. If they have rude servers or service, it may be overlooked with the value placed in the quality of their dishes. I have not dined at their location, but would love to visit them soon. I will definitely purchase their food again but most likely as a dine-in customer. There is a place in this world for high end Chinese food and places like Tasty Goody. I would place the Lotus Garden somewhere in the middle with an above middle price structure. Their dishes are very tasty and I recommend their Fish Fillet with Black Bean Sauce. Enjoy! read more

Then I got home and the food was not good, how disappointing. The chicken was low grade meat (thigh meat in the chow mein and strange white meat in the main dish. We ordered Orange Chicken, Broccoli Beef and Combo Fried Rice. Each entree also included white rice, and we received several fortune cookies. Everything was delicious!
