Lotus Garden used to be one of our favorite take out places. The food used to be delicious, and the portions were a good amount of food. We ordered takeout two days ago after not having been there for about three months. The potions were half the size we used to get, the teriyaki sauce tasted burned, the Mongolian beef tasted like the beef was coated with flour or something, and while I like my veggies a little crunchy, the veggies were very under cooked. I found this restaurant on Grubhub, and in soooooo glad I did! I order from them very often. The food is always hot when it gets to my door and the portion sizes are generous. My favorites are their war wonton soup, the Mongolian beef (drool) and their fries rice. I order their orange chicken sometime too. The customer service is wonderful as well and they correct any mistakes quickly and happily. Even though there has only been 1 mistake out of like 12 orders! Give them a try. Lotus Garden Upland I found this restaurant when it came up as a new restaurant on Doordash. It had dishes that most places don't serve anymore. According to the reviews not everyone had a good word to say so we decided to go there and see for ourselves. We ordered lots of dishes to try them. We're picky about our Chinese food so we chose our favorites to see how they measured up. Mushu pork (with pancakes), Shrimp egg foo young (which comes with white rice), wor wonton soup, chicken corn soup, bbq pork fried rice, and the regular pu pu platter. The platter was ok but superfluous, considering the amount of other food served. We ordered the small soups which in themselves could have been a meal. I seldom find egg foo young on the menu. It was made differently from what I'm used to and the succulent shrimp and veggies were on top of the foo young, not cooked as part of it. Absolutely fabulous! One serving dish would feed 6 or more people. I'm going to be having it for lunch for a few days. lol My daughter said the mushu was the best she's ever had. Basically the hoisin sauce was part of the dish and not just added on the side. That made it tastier. The soups were both great so I will order the hot and sour, and the seafood soup with confidence in future. Since we were on a sampling mission we filled up and still took home 3 bags of food. Strangely they only had cold drinks. No hot tea. They did offer fortune cookies but Almond cookies were only sold by the box and they were out of them. I can't wait to try some of the other dishes not commonly found. They have chicken chow mein but it isn't what I've been looking for. This is more of a lo mein dish made with noodles. In 30 years of looking I've only found old fashioned chicken chow mein with bamboo shoots recently under a different name at Panda Inn. I passed on it. If this is a family run business hurry there and give them your business. Don't let them go under! The prices are fair with the quality and amount of food served. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. They were doing a good business. Something I was happy to see-most of it being picked up, not eaten in, as we did. Compliments to the chef. Our entire order was cooked immediately after we ordered. Friendly staff. The food was delicious! We ordered Dim Sum, Hot and Sour Soup, and Mongolian Beef (this comes w/ Fried Rice!). First thing I have to say about this place is that I appreciate their non usage of MSG in their dishes. I wish more Asian eateries were as conscious as they are. The Mushu was delicious but the Singapore Rice Noodles was extremely salty. They have a Steamed Spicy Dumplings but I would recommended ordering the regular steamed dumplings. The only difference between the two is that the spicy option comes with a small side of chili garlic sauce from Huy Fong. Overall, I would go back and try other dishes that they offer. read more

We just had food delivered to our home tonight from this place for the first time. The Mongolian Beef was raw and even worse than that, so was the chicken in the chicken chow mein! When my husband called them to complain we were told that we live too far away for them to bring us more food, they would just give us a credit for our next order. OUR NEXT ORDER?! You delivered RAW CHICKEN to my family! My husband told them there would be no next order. They didn't care. So we're out $40 (including tip) for a meal we can't eat. Customer service fail. Some members of sone facebook groups I belong to suggested trying Lotus Garden when the topic was decent Chinese eateries in the Upland/Rancho Cucamonga area. Since they mailed out menus last week, and our favorite Chinese restayrant is closed on Mondays, we decided to drive over and give it a try. The menu is varued, but everything is ala carte. They do not have any special meals where one receives soup and appetizers with an order, but the menu does state that for $1.99 per person with 2 or more diners, diners will recieve soup, steamed rice, egg rools, and fried wontons with the meal. Even that is conditional--there are 149 dishes on the menu but only less than 50 of those offer the upgrade. We started out with Three Flavor Sizzling Rice Soup. While prepared fresh and hot, there were only two flavors (chicken and shrimp) in the soup, and the rice came on the side, so when dumped into the soup, it did not crackle or sizzle. It did have all of the veggies one would expect to find, and was tasty. We also ordered a plate of their chicken and shrimp egg rolls. They are not made on the premises, but tasted very good, and while they were very large, at $6.99 for four, not a great value. We also ordered the Fried Cream Cheese Wontons with Crab, and they were excellent. A great value at $3.99 for four. We also ordered one of their House Specials, called the Double Dragon. It is two separate flavors of shrimp. I believe we received Honey Walnut Shrimp and Garlic Shrimp. The Garlic Shrimp was nice and tasty, with just enough tang to offset the Honey Walnut Shrimp, which was a little too sweet and had too much mayonnaise in the sauce for my taste buds. Although there are plenty of restaurants that serve larger portions, we got a fair amount of food for a total of $38. Still, I think they could be a bit more generous with the size of the entree portions. Our biggest complaint was that some of the utensils and serving dishes tasted faintly of soap---they need to be rinsed more thoroughly. read more

I was in the area visiting family, and this restaurant was in delivery distance of my hotel. I ordered pork spareribs, potstickers, and a boba milk tea. I don't know what was in that boba milk tea, but it tasted like cleaning solvents and was literally undrinkable. I've had a lot of different varieties of boba milk tea in my travels, and this was by far the worst I have ever had. The pork spareribs were ridiculous.... one was so tiny it barely had any meat on it, the other was huge and 50% fat. Neither had much flavor and the meat was tough and hard to chew. The potstickers were surprisingly tasty, the only redeeming thing at all. I wish I'd just ordered those. I eat at divey asian restaurants all the time, I wasn't expecting a gourmet meal, just something edible, and the potstickers were the only things I could eat. read more

One of my friend recommended me to come here, and after I tried I like this place. Right now they have Holiday special for dine in customers, you can free egg rolls or orange chicken or walnut shrimp based on how much you spend. I got an order delivered and one of the items was chicken teriyaki. I had no teriyaki sauce for it. The food was delivered and soon as I opened the bag I same there was none. I immediately called the restaurant to see if I could get some sauce and there seemed to be an issue of getting the sauce to me. By the time I kept calling and going through a back and forth I asked for a refund for 1 of the 3 meals I purchased. He asked if I could get a discount t for next time, but I said I wouldn't be back and would prefer a refund. You might think this is a little harsh but it was honestly that bad. However everything else was delicious I think the beef and broccoli was great. But another problem is that they're pricing is too expensive for the quantity and quality that they offer. The staff is very helpful and attentive. The restaurant is very clean and in a great location. We got the wonton soup and the broccoli chicken. The soup was to die for! It tasted like a bounty of vegetables simmered to perfection with big helpings of wontons. The chicken broccoli was so good that my wife didn't even get a taste.
