Nice, crunchy salad, dressing a bit sweet but balanced by the tangy mango chunks, together with crispy and coconut-ty shrimp, it was a winner. Will be ordering this again in the future. Black Noodle with chicken (Pad See Ew). We loved the thinness of the rice noodles (they're not easy to achieve). The noodles were wide, thin, slightly chewy, well seasoned. The carrots were super thinly sliced to match the noodles (appreciated that), a bit oily at the end and they used broccoli instead of Chinese broccoli. Otherwise it would've been perfect. Bangkok Chicken. Sauce was a bit sweet, chicken was fine, nice crunch from the veggies and cashew (won't say no to more cashew though). Larb Gai salad. Sauce felt like mild, would be nice if the flavor is stronger. read more

This place is walking distance and before dining in I had only gotten takeout so I was happy to experience sitting inside for a meal. For takeout I would usually get the curry puffs, chicken wings, and drunken noodles with chicken or duck--ALL amazing, so I decided to try different items this time. First, the green papaya salad was delicious, I was so close to drinking the dressing once I got to the bottom of the bowl. It's moderately sized, good enough to split as a first course. I also ordered the crispy chive cakes, 10/10 obsessed. They're so crispy on the outside and warm and kind of soft on the inside and they come with a sweet dipping sauce--I would eat these again and again. For entrees I ordered the pineapple fried rice, no protein just veggies, three flavors jumbo shrimp, and the incredibly crispy duck shu shee. Lastly, for dessert I got the crispy cheesecake. It's basically a deep fried cheesecake with a dollop of whipped cream, cute! The food is fantastic, I love finding local gems and there was one man running the show and taking tables. He was super attentive, even taking my used napkin out of my hand and bringing me a fresh one, oh my! The place is quiet, you can hear Stevie wonder gently pumping through the restaurant and it's nicely decorated inside and outside. Place is super cute, there's an outside seating area & indoor. unfortunately no parking we had friends coming looking for an hour on a Saturday. The waiter was nice but he forgot everything. Had to ask for Plates for our "shareable food" that wasn't really shareable, we had to ask for refills multiple times, n no water for the table like most places offer. The soda glass was dirty, I was there for my boyfriend's birthday and it was good. I just figured they'd be more prepared. They also never brought the cake out and they were closing we still got it out n shared with the friends . Cool spot just lots of hiccups. Covid review : They have a nice patio outside for outdoor dining. This has a rent and multiple tables. It's so nice and beautifully decorated! They no longer do lunch specials if you are eating at the establishment. They only do lunch specials for take out. The Tom yum shrimp soup was good this time around, but not spicy. It also seemed to be more clear. There seemed to be an inconsistency here. The spicy thai basil fried rice with tofu and veggies is a must get. This is my favorite dish I've had here so far. By far superior to the pad thai and curries I've had. However, it wasn't spicy at all. Very odd since my previous dishes were spicy as hell. The drunken noodles with veggies are phenomenal also. My friend lives in the area and suggested Lotus Thai for dinner. NJ is ahead of NY and currently shows indoor dining but we sat outside in the cute patio since the weather was nice. The first thing that stood out was the super warm friendly service, we could tell the servers were happy even through the mask. This place is BYOB and there's a liquor store conveniently across the street. We ordered the appetizer sampler and Thai mussels in spicy sauce, fried chicken wings, and fried rice. The mussels were so delicious, it came with a side of paratha Flatbread. The spicy sauce was so delicious that I ended up dipping the paratha and some of the appetizers into the sauce since it was just soo good! The chicken wings were so crispy yet juicy! Had dinner at the restaurant on Monday. I've seen the place but never dined in. It was suggested by a friend so we tried it out. I have to say the place is nice. Feels a little like a home when you get seated in the backyard. It is kind of hippie a little back there. Enter the space and the dining room is woody old style. Service was very nice. Hopefully, I got the name right. Sebastian. He was very polite, informative and patient. Restaurant was not busy but I assume he was doing multiple things. Food was good in a homie way. This is not going to be a fine dining experience, rather a family dining experience. Food was good. Drinks, they don't have a liquor license but I assume you can bring in beer or wine. We didn't instead ordered their juices. I have to say that is the one area they need to work on. I ordered the Tamarind and my other guest ordered the Lychee drink, the other 2 guests don't recall their order but what was common, was they were too sweet and you could tell that they were probably from a syrup like Monín. Could be wrong but definitely artificial back flavor. Place like this should really do the natural things. Restaurant has that vibe and feel so do it all the way. I know it is more work and cost more but it makes the difference. Dessert: had the special. White chocolate filled with ice cream. It was ok but either it was not properly stored (freezer) or was a bit old. So would I go back? Yes, a little more prepared maybe. Appetizer sampler was very good. Sauces excellent. Mango salad the only issue was mangos not matured enough. It was a bit hard the mangos. My fried rice (beef) very good. My friend's Noodles was really good. Duck dish was good. Lotus Thai never disappoints. The menu contains excellent starters and entrees. Two of my favorite appetizers are the Lotus Fritters and Fried Tofu; both options are flavorful and perfectly cooked. I wish I reviewed this place 4-5 years ago, when it was my go-to spot for fresh, consistently delicious Thai food. Over the past 2 years, I've noticed a change in the quality of food. Not sure if the chefs or owners changed. The drunken noodles, pad Thai, pineapple rice, and all the apps were always super tasty and fresh. Now, I'm getting consistently stale food that looks and tastes like it's heated up in a microwave. I've had noodles that were completely stuck together that I could pick up the whole meal with my fork. It's really sad because this is the only Thai place around here and it used to be excellent!
