    Sweet and Sour Pork
    Shelly S.

Service is a little slow but both sever and chef are very sweet. The wonton soup is prepared different then we are use to but very good. We also had general chicken, sweet & sour pork and chicken chow main which were all delicious. The environment is pretty and very quiet. There was a dirty spoon out of us three and a lot of water spots on glassware partnered with slow service gives it the four stars or this would have been five stars! Easy improvements!

Over all it was good food very attentive service and clean space. We most likely come again

Some of the best General's Chicken. I wish you could hear this crisp chicken crunch.

This place is good! The best General's Chicken I have had in a while! I have had a General's Chicken at nearly every Chinese food restaurant I have ever been to and this was some of the best. The chicken was crispy and hot. The sauce never had a chance to soften it. Even toward the end of our meal the chicken was still crisp. NOTE: I did get General's Chicken to go one time and ended up with soggy breading so eat this in the restaurant just as it is cooked. The sushi was satisfying. Basic in appearance, but tasty. I enjoyed the purple cabbage and cucumber. Not overly sauced like so many others. The sushi chef takes his time to make fresh rolls. If you are looking for some good Chinese food and tasty sushi, stop into Lotus. A small family business worth a visit!

At 9:05pm on a weekday, good to know salvation for my empty stomach is at hand in Ukiah!

Excellent soups - had the hot and sour and the wonton soup - both were one of the best I've had.

Twas a solo, business trip on a Friday night, so I was able to experience this place on full, local display. Sat at the sushi bar and I was able to watch the chef make my Oco personally. The only reason I left a star out is because as I sat at one of those bar spots, I was exposed to the back side of the deep fryer so not only was it warm but it was a touch scummy. It needed to be cleaned thoroughly. (To me that something you expect in Japanese culture is the expected cleanliness.) The service was not bad, perhaps not top notch, maybe due to the fact it was a full house with tables turning over. Overall well done and I will return.

It's fried noodles on top of a pile of cabbage, sauce, egg crepe, sauce, and other choice of topping, and (of course) sauce. I ordered the "Japanese", pork and mushroom with sweet and spicy sauce. When I got it. I thought to myself that I needed a straw for the sauce. I would order again and try the other flavors, but less sauce. We also ate the "fish sticks", cooked spicy tuna, with spicy sauce on top. Not bad The secret to good sushi is the rice, and fresh ingredients. The fish was fine. The rice was not too sweet and the right consistency. Not bad. The service was great. Very attentive and plenty of help. The atmosphere was pleasing. It space must have been a Latin style restaurant cuz it has kind of a Latin vibe. Regardless it was a good time and good food. On a humorous note, I noticed we were the only Asians, other than the owners, in the restaurant. That's was concerning. . But I'm glad we got over it. There aren't many Asians here.

They did not out the sauce in the sweet and sour pork or lemon chicken which was great as I live about an hour away. The order comes quickly, and the food is very hot. The soup was excellent. A huge container with lots of goodies! The broth was delicious. The veggies were done. Well, the wontons were tender and delicious, and there were plenty of the pork, chicken, and shrimp, and they were also done very well. The garlic chicken was just as good. I could smell the garlic as soon as I opened the container. There was plenty of rice, the chicken was tender, and the veggies were just right. The rice was done perfectly, and it went with the Dish very very well. I had enough soup and garlic chicken to have a nice breakfast as well. The price was reasonable considering I got two meals out of it. The only thing I could say, was they could see that it was a DoorDash order, but I don't know if they could see that it was going to a motel. If they could see that, they should've realized that most motels don't have bowls or plates The garlic chicken and the rice came in small "to go containers", and I had no plates or anything, so it made it kind of hard to eat. The next time I order from this place, I will ask them to include a to go tray. I will order from this place again. Thank you.

We recently relocated to Sonoma county (The Sea Ranch) from Silicon Valley (Menlo Park) and have had some nice meals along the coast since we moved here FT (Harbor House, Ledford House etc) but this little spot is a real gem. Friends recommended it so we had a double date night and filled the table with all sorts of goodies. Great evening and food. Highly recommended. Small, simply situated on a very quiet street in Point Arena. A few doors down from a decent locally sourced weed shop (also worth a visit BTW), and a local fish monger (Point Arena is a commercial fishing port) and solid local bakery (Pelican), this excellent restaurant serves up a variety of rotating locally sourced small plates and yakatori style grilled meats and veggies as well as some raw fish and stews as well. Highlights were the sashimi, the fish roe on rice, the grilled pork belly, the grilled cabbage salad, the tempura shrooms and the fried chicken oysters as well as the grilled chicken thighs. All excellent. They have a nice selection of saki's as well (we had 2 small bottles to share $20/each) and to close the meal we had the Matcha ice cream with passion fruit ! All in for 4 people including tax and tip $250...which in today's world seemed very fair to me. Great meal and great vibe overall. Chef/owners apparently have strong training and work experience in Japanese settings and fine dining restaurants- which may explain why this place does very simple things so well... Make a reservation on the weekends otherwise you'll miss out or end up eating at the bar. There are certainly worse things to do than that...however, trust me. Visit here and thank me later. Well done Izakaya Gama ! We will be back. This will undoubtedly be on our regular "locals dining out rotation" now. Bravo Izakaya Gama !

Fried, grilled, steamed, raw... not a single miss. We were staying just up the block on a short getaway, and this ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the trip. At one point we were talking about Rintaro in SF, and the chef overheard us--she mentioned he knew the folks there and spoke highly of them. Honestly, after eating here, I think Gama is better, and at a much friendlier price point. Warm atmosphere, great food, and a chef who clearly cares about what they're doing. This place is a win all around.

Jyun Kang Vegetarian - A Meal That Quietly Resets You…read more Some meals speak in flavor. This one speaks in quiet. Jyun Kang is not modern plant-based cuisine. It isn't creative, trendy, or reinvented. This is the kind of vegetarian cooking that comes from older traditions - simple, steady, and designed to calm you more than impress you. And maybe that's why the dining room is always full. White, Black, Indian, Asian - everyone sits at the same wooden tables, eating the same humble dishes with an ease that feels rare these days. The Food: Old-School, Temple-Style, and Intentionally Quiet Nothing here tries to stand out. The dishes are: * lightly seasoned * clean and balanced * tofu, vegetables, and wheat gluten prepared the way temple kitchens have done for decades * no heavy oil, no aggressive spices, no sharp flavors It's not meant to overwhelm you. It's meant to lower the noise inside you. In a strange way, the quietness is the flavor. This is the type of meal where your nervous system shifts down a gear without you realizing it. The Atmosphere: A Dining Room Wrapped in Calm Steps away from the main courtyard of the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, the restaurant feels like an extension of the grounds themselves. Light streams in softly. People speak gently. Even the clinking of dishes feels slower, more deliberate. Eating here isn't just eating - it's entering a different pace of life. A White Peacock After Lunch After the meal, a white peacock walked across the courtyard - unhurried, soft-footed, almost unreal in how quietly it moved. White peacocks are often considered auspicious, but even without any symbolism, the moment felt grounding - a small, unexpected pause that matched the tone of the meal. Not many restaurants offer you that. The Walk Afterward Part of the experience is what happens once you step outside: * walking past tall trees * seeing peacocks on rooftops * watching families stroll through the open grounds * letting your mind cool in the same way your body just did This isn't a restaurant visit. It's a reset. Verdict: A Place That Nourishes More Than Hunger Jyun Kang serves exactly what it intends to serve: pure, old-style temple vegetarian food, quietly and consistently. It won't dazzle you, but it will steady you. And sometimes, that is worth more than flavor. If you want boldness, go elsewhere. If you want a meal that lowers the volume of your day - come here.
