The food looked good, unfortunately it went downhill from there. The meat was overcooked. Chewy and dry. The refried beans tasted like they came out of a can, as did the rice. There were almost no spices. I know this isn't Los Angeles or Latin America, but I expect at least some spices on my food. Place is meh. Food was OK, pretty much what you would expect for this Mexican-American type vibe. I am a huge salsa fan (connoisseur is probably more fitting) and this one was a bit ketchup like which is always disappointing. Where's the spice?! I asked for a spicy salsa when I was in earlier tonight and inattentive server finally brought it after I asked twice. Whenever I got the bill, I was charged for the hot salsa! I have not lived in Lansing for 30 years. last time I went here it was La senoritas. First of all I was greeted very friendly and Spanish. Everyone had Spanish accents so I knew the food would be authentic, which I was looking for. I had a top shelf margarita It was huge and delicious. My friend and I shared carnitas and a little taco enchilada plate with some guacamole. Everything was just so good in the atmosphere was great in the waiters and the staff were amazing. Living in Michigan, it's kind of hard to find quality Mexican food sometimes. But Fiesta Charra gives me a taste of the boarder and has quality, authentic dishes. The price is very very good. My spouse and I ate dinner here during a road trip and were pleasantly surprised!! unlike some of the other reviewers, we were served our meal (piping hot fajitas) within 5 minutes of ordering. it was much faster than our favorite Mexican restaurants back home and just as good! the side plate comes with lettuce, Sour Cream, Guacamole, Pico, rice, and Refried beans (has some cheese on the beans). The Texas fajitas plate had chicken, beef, and shrimp with onion green pepper, and tomato (veggies were not too overdone - just right). Needed a quick carry out lunch that was close to home and decided to try the new Fiesta Charra in East Lansing. I ordered the taco trio with corn tortillas and it came with chips and salsa, rice, and beans. The tacos came with two tortillas each and I really liked the flavor of the chorizo one. The pork was also good and had a nice char like it was cooked over an open flame grill. The beans were on the thicker side and the rice was a smidge dry but otherwise not too bad. The salsa was on the mild side of medium spice and went well with the both the tacos and tortilla chips. For the price, it was a great and filling lunch. read more

If I could give more than five stars, I would. Visiting from California so I'm used to authentic Mexican food, hard to find in Michigan. The flautas were very good. The pork verde was off the charts, some of the best roasted pork in green sauce I have ever had. The server was very attentive and friendly. read more

This was my first visit, and now my favorite Mexican Restaurant. I had the Spartan Burrito. It was green and loaded with meats from end to end. The margarita was extra large and you could actually taste the tequila. The person with me had a regular burrito, also huge and filled the same. Great top of the line service and I must return. This was my second time ordering from this location, the first time we were given a shredded chicken nacho instead of beef (the chicken was super chewy and not at all appealing) This time we called in the order for pick up again but once we got to the restaurant they told us they didn't have any orders. They remade them but this time when I ordered the two grilled chicken quesadilla with just chicken and extra cheese I was given an order of two extra soggy shredded chicken quesadillas with the works inside of them. Had a wonderful experience here. They were happy accommodate our party of 17. The food was hot and arrived quickly. My husband had carne assada and was happy with the ample and tasty portion. We ordered a variety of dips to go with the baskets of chips, which they replenished often. Everyone loved the white, creamy Mexican cheese used with these and on the chicken nachos. Omg talk about depressing. Really was looking forward to this place since the parking lot was always jumping! Unfortunately that was not the case at all. It took at least 10 minutes for the waiter to come over and greet us. We ordered the Spinach Quesadilla which came lacking cheese so if was more like a simple taco and was missing sour cream. We also ordered the chimichanga with shredded beef. The chimichanga was not fried as it's supposed to come crispy, it also had a lot of the beef red. There was sour cream mixed with the guacamole and lettuce and wasn't supposed to have it per the menu so I couldn't eat it as I'm allergic. The rice and beans were cold. Waiter NEVER returned. We never received refills on drinks, we never got to voice our concerns with the food that another person brought out to us, and we didn't get some things that we ordered. We also needed extra napkins but were never checked on to be able to ask. We ended up leaving the plates with the food and went to find out waiter and asked to just pay so we could get out. The alcohol drinks looked delicious unfortunately we didn't get to order any. Perhaps just go to the bar and only order drinks but steer clear from the nasty food and poor customer service. If I could give less than 1 star I would. We came in at 7pm for seated and ordered at 710pm. From the point we ordered no one attended to us. At 8:06 we asked about the food taking an hour... keep in mind we ordered soup and tacos with 2 kids meals. I asked the manager and wow was I surprised at his reaction... laughing at me, telling me it's normal to wait an hour, excuses. I was extremely surprised and upset... Instead of apologizing or making it right his response was "What do you want me to do about it"... Very disappointing. We didn't get our food until 825pm. My grandson was crying because of the manager arguing with us...at our table, wth...shocking and sad! I own 2 businesses and would never treat a client like this. read more

Don't use the online ordering I tried ordering online. First, you have to make sure that you are ordering from the right place. There are 2 restaurants with the same name. There are no descriptions on the menu so you have to guess. I completed an order but when I submitted it, the app said the order was ready in 2 hours and 20 mins. Not acceptable. I drove to the restaurant'. It was not busy. The greeter had trouble understanding english. He seemed exasperated. After awhile I asked how long it normally takes for an online order. He did not understand what I was asking. I pointed to my watch. He seemed perturbed. Really, I was only asking because the website said it was a 2 hour wait time. Total time was 35 mins. I was glad to take home 2 bags oof food to awaiting family. I ask ed for no onions but everything was full of onions. The salad order was mixed up. I had heard of great reviews from friends. Best margaritas! The Fiesta Charra Margarita is the best I've ever had and they are huge! My husband and I have been regulars for months. We have always had great service, we always sit at the bar, and have always had great, fresh, well made food. We have gone multiple times a week sometimes.
