I'm originally from Chicago but have never been to Lou's out here in Chandler. The pizza always arrived hot. We also liked the bruschetta, which needed more vinaigrette (in my opinion) its a fantastic place to order from. Be prepared to spend some money. The pizza is a bit on the expensive side. Hip Hip, Lou-Ray! I ordered a Chicago sausage deep dish (+buttercrust), the Malnati Salad, and some 12-pc lemon pepper bone-in wings, After tax, I spent $72.91. Now that is one hefty takeout bill, but hey, I love me some Malnati's! I will say, though, that the last time I placed an order here, my pizza box was absolutely sopping wet. I don't know what the liquid is or where it came from, but it weirded me out. Also, the pizza could have been hotter. This satellite location is good. We've tried soooo many places Trevor's Liquor, Craft 64, and plenty of others but we always find ourselves coming back to Lou Malnati's. The thin crust pizza is absolutely phenomenal, crispy, flavorful, and just addictive in the best way. We truly can't get enough of it! The customer service at this location is consistently top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes every visit feel like a great experience. Whether we're dining in or grabbing takeout, they never miss a beat. This place is a must. Story time. It's a Friday afternoon and I found myself craving deep dish pizza. I hopped onto Yelp to see what was in the general area. I saw Lou Malnati's Pizzeria listed, but the reviews did not instill a lot of confidence that they were the place to try. In spite of the poor reviews, I decided to give them a try and see for myself. I know reviews aren't always indicative of what *I* may like or dislike. It was a little after 3 p.m. and went to Lou Malnati's website and placed an order for a medium pepperoni and mushroom deep dish pizza with a butter crust. Conveniently, I was able to schedule the pickup time for 5:15 p.m. so I could swing by to pick it up on my way home. When I left work, I couldn't help but think about all the negative reviews and began to wonder what kind of issues I was going to encounter with this deep dish decision. I arrived at their front door (curbside spot #2) at 5:13 p.m. Per their online instructions, I called them to let them know that I had an order and that I had arrived. Shortly after, the gentleman that I spoke to on the phone approached my car, confirmed the order and handed me my order. Awesome! 5:15 p.m. on the dot! So far so good! I got home and immediately grabbed a plate, fork and knife. I eagerly flipped open the lid to the pizza box to find a plastic sheet draped over the pizza sauce. A little off-putting initially, but it wasn't a huge deal as I've seen it done before. (It keeps the sauce in place and prevents contact with the lid.) Being that this isn't my first deep dish rodeo, I also knew that the pizza was not cut. I believe there was an option to have it cut, but I know it travels much better if it isn't. I'm a big boy and I'm more than capable of cutting a pizza for myself anyway. I must say that I was very impressed with how crispy the crust was from center to edge. The glorious golden brown color had me giddy and salivating at the same time. Wait! What's going on?? So far, none of the negative reviews match anything that I'm experiencing. The flavor or the pizza sauce wasn't as tangy as some Chicago style deep dish pizzas I've had, but it was far from being bland. I honestly felt that it was just right. I'm a Wisconsin guy, so I was very happy with the amount of cheese as well. So, was my great experience a fluke? Did Lou Malnati's Pizzeria make some changes for the better? I honestly can't say for sure. I do know that I will be back for more deep dish pizzas when the craving strikes again. read more

My toddler wanted to get some pizza for dinner and we were around. So, called them and ordered a cheese pizza. I didn't know that they were Chicago deep-dish pizzas till I received one. They informed us beforehand that it would take half an hour and we were prepared. The pizza was just alright, but not the best. They have a lot of room for improvement, the crust was a little hard, and with too much sauce it was falling apart. I might give a try again but not anytime soon. read more

Ordered the deep dish originally and did not like it. Went to a friend's for dinner and had their thin crust. Thin crust pizza is so yummy! The Lou is good but tomatoes add some extra liquid to your pie. The pepperoni is very flavorful. Con- it's a bit pricey. read more

I'm not a fan of giving one star reviews. Especially for business I've been a fan of most of my life. I've been a customer of Lou's since they opened in Lincolnwood more than 40 years ago. Having moved to AZ in the mid 90's one of the things I missed most was Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. So much so that I've tried to recreate it for 20 years. Lou's was by far one of my top 3 favorites. In the Chicago area I've never had a bad Lou's. From Lincoln Park to Highland Park the stores are pretty consistent. In AZ not so much. Camelback is hit or miss. Maybe 50/50. Scottsdale and PV the same. Chandler is 2 for 2 on the miss parade. For the most part it's not the ingredients where any of the Lou's out here miss the mark. Although none of them seem to have Anichini Bros pepperoni. It's always the dough/crust. It never gets dark enough yet it's always hard. Not crunchy. It's never developed enough (fermented) and it's never got that 3/8 or so of sponginess. The crispy bottom should be just the part of the very bottom that fries in the olive oil. Not that full quarter inch of hardened part that it is. The other stores usually have someone who's worked in a Chicago store who knows how it should be. The Chandler store looks like the kids got picked up after the day shift from Chick-fil-a. Please get your act together. When I tell people Lou's has the best Chicago Deep Dish. I lose credibility when they get it here. read more

I post bad reviews only if the experience was exceptional bad or there is no resolution. In this case there was no resolution. My husband & I have given the Chandler location many chances. Other locations have no problem with the gluten free but this location either burns it or severely undercooks it. I filled out 2 surveys for my last 2 orders and (4 pizzas), no one got back to me so I called the manager & he acknowledged it was bad pizza but didn't apologize, offer to give a refund or offer a free pizza. They have a friendly staff but as small & pricey as their gluten free pizza is. They should offer a remedy. Not just "yes I got it. Yup, we're working on it" So my gluten free Chandler neighbors, I'm sorry I'd say drive a little further. read more

I've been hearing a lot about this place, so we decided to give it a whirl. First off- take out only. Secondly - the entire pie shifted on the way home Third- taste wasn't anything special. We tried the typical Chicago style w sausage. It needed more salt and the marinara was soupy. Lastly- cost was higher than expected. I wouldn't mind pay the price but the taste just wasn't there. Gave them a try for a second time and just...nope. The pizza is so bland and greasy. The salad was sloppy and wilting.
