I've passed this place for many many years. Finally decided to give it a try, though very little curb appeal at all. We got the eggplant parmigiana and the lasagne dish. It was good. The marinara sauce could use a little doctoring, meaning, more flavor. Also, none of the dishes come with a salad but do include bread and butter. Service was alright. Our server wasn't very attentive and the restaurant was not very full. Somewhat of a disappointment. The place really needs a facelift. It lacks ambience and no music playing. Some light Italian music in the background would've been nice. I will say the owner, I'm guessing, helped us with our payment which had a glitch. Was a little disappointed this time. We usually go to the Phx location and it has always been great! This time we went to the Tempe location. I usually order the sausage and peppers but tried the 10 pc boneless wings this time. It was really weird because half of them came out looking decent and the other half were different shape and color, almost like they'd been deep-fried once and then reheated or refried for my plate. The salad also had lettuce that was yellowing and browning a bit. The people working there were awesome! Although I was only asked once if I wanted a refill of my soda, so checking on the table a little bit more often would be nice. We will go back, but I will stick with the sausage and peppers and the Phoenix location. read more

Had issues when asked what's in their garden salad, like the person on the phone had no idea and had to look it up and left awkward silence on phone. The food is always delicious, service quick and portions generally good. I did note that the chicken Parmesan lunch special seem to be a little bit less food than in the past, but it was nicely presented and it tasted awesome. I decided to also get a small cheese pizza for less than $8, which is a small deal and an absolutely fabulous tasting! My family enjoyed that when I brought most of it home. read more

The food is great! Pastas ( especially the fettuccine Alfredo) sandwiches ( especially the French dip) and pizzas ( especially the pepperoni) are worth eating! Definitely order the fried zucchini, mushrooms and calamari. It's all craveable food. BUT the restaurant is disgustingly dirty and badly in need of repair. Booths are ripped with broken springs. Bathroom has a horrible smell they tried to cover with air freshener. I'm sure I don't want to know what the cleaning standards are in the kitchen. I really liked their pizza. Oily, thin crust, cooked just right, I was very happy with it. The problem I had though was that it took a really long time. The place itself though is nice, definitely a family friendly place with plenty of room with an old rustic feel to it. Although I liked our waitress as well, service did take some waiting too. While waiting for our food, it took a long time to get our refills for our drinks. Even for our to-go box, I had to stand up and get to get our nice waitress's attention. It had been a while since we have been here. Boy was that a mistake. The food and service was great. Had a half pepperoni and cheese pizza also an order of wings. They were better than we remembered. It was very tasty and pretty quick service. They have TVs up in the corners so you can watch sports. The nice bar is seperated from the main dinning. This is located in a small, rundown plaza. The issue that persisted throughout the entire time here was the extremely lazy service. It wasn't until the end of my time there that I passed by the back kitchen and saw our server on her phone; so it looks like she spent most of her time on her phone doing nothing. Besides pizza, they also sell calzones, pastas, sandwiches, salads, and wings. I got a 16 inch white pizza with two toppings. This cost me $25.25. It took almost half an hour for us to get our pizzas. I had seasoned mushrooms as one of my toppings and I couldn't tell the difference between this and normal mushrooms. The pizza itself was of above average quality. Their pizzas are of the thin crust variety. Thus, they're not very good when eaten the next day or so. Ate lunch again yesterday. We go here a lot cause we love the food, service, and prices. Yesterday they were quite busy for lunch and that probably flustered the chef. My wife's bruschetta came to her without any olive oil or garlic on it. The waitress quickly remedied the problem by bringing her a little bowl of olive oil and chopped garlic; that fixed the problem. Her calzone was fine and my clam linguine was excellent! My husband had been here years ago and remembered the meatball sandwich as being very good so we gave them a try for lunch. Unfortunely, the food did not live up to his memory. I ordered the Baked Penne. Very little penne, heavy on the way too sweet sauce and the "mozzarella" was a square slice on the top that wasn't melted. Yes, a square slice like individually wrapped American cheese. The order of Cheesy Garlic Bread tasted old and stale. I grew up in New York, so I kinda know decent Italian food. Their eggplant Parmesan hero leaves much to be desired. If this restaurant really cares about making it and maybe making it big, they could decide to make their stuff look prettier. The eggplant cooked perfectly but there was barely any sauce, and if there was cheese, it became totally invisible after the sandwich was closed. I waited 25 minutes for takeout! I seriously considered giving the restaurant a 3-star review just based on the fact that it was very outdated inside. The walls are painted gray and just felt like I was walking into a cloudy Ohio afternoon in the building. Everything as far as the pasta concerned on the menu is all the cart. So when you start adding meatballs and a salad the prices go up accordingly. My way forwarded the spaghetti and added meatballs in a salad. It was a nice size portion of spaghetti. The sauce was rich in flavorful. The meatballs were tender. The salad was okay. My wife and I both thought the menu said that regular bread was included with the pasta but it turns out it wasn't. We asked for some bread and they had to make some fresh for us which was not a bad thing. The rolls were elicious. I ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich. It was well prepared and tasty the only thing I would say is that it might have been just a bit overcooked. The french fries are crisp and delicious. We ordered the cannoli for dessert and that was definitely the star of the show. However, on the day we visited, we were one of 3 tables occupied for lunch and the ambiance inside just seemed tired and drab. There was a lunch special menu and I ordered from that. RD was not my first choice for Saturday night's dinner, but the place we wanted was too full and seating was non-existent. My sister mentioned RD, stating when she had been there for lunch (pre-covid) it was decent. Well, maybe way back then it was but now? It was so bland I couldn't take more than three bites before shoving it in a take-home container (we were raised not to waste food) and praying to all the food gods that I can salvage it with seasonings from my pantry. The only saving grace for RD was Ana, our server. She was polite and attentive. Had I pressed the issue about the nasty meal, I think she would have tried to make it right but I didn't want to be that type of customer. The fried combo was overly fried, the lettuce garnish was so wilted it was pathetic. The strawberry spinach salad was the best part of the entire meal (it was NOT wilted), although the chicken seemed a bit dry. There were three of us eating, three different meals and not one of us finished it. My sister ordered the Red Devil Trio ("A colorful combination of fettuccine Alfredo, cheese ravioli marinara and chicken parmigiana.") It was bland and my sister swears it was just some cheap generic sauce over all of it. She brought it home and smothered it in Italian seasonings, garlic, and cheese. My friend ordered the BBQ chicken pizza. The bits of chicken were all in the center, and the BBQ was a drizzle. She ate maybe two pieces before giving up and deciding it was not even worth taking home. She gave it to me for my compost bin. I ordered the portobello mushroom ravioli. When it arrived, I swear my first thought was that it looked like a congealed mass of overly thick Campbell's mushroom soup. But Campbell's tastes better. The very first bite tasted like a mouthful of flour (commonly used to thicken up soup). I stirred it up hoping it would help. It didn't. Every bite was flour. My sister took a bite as well and agreed: tastes like flour. I asked Ana for some garlic powder and liberally sprinkled that over the dish. Still did not help. I was not going to waste any more time and packed it up to take it home. Hopefully my store of seasonings at the house will help make it edible. The rolls that came w/ the meal were rock hard. We went there around 7:20 on a Wednesday. They weren't very busy. I saw a table of 8 when we were seated. A table of 4 came in about 5 minutes after we were seated. It was just my boyfriend and myself. The table of 4 placed their order and recieved their food and were almost finished eating before we even got our food. Now about the food. I ordered a Hawaian pizza but with barbecue sauce instead of pizza sauce and I ordered red onions to be added. My boyfriend ordered the Buffalo calzone, but told the server to add extra Buffalo sauce inside AND a side of Buffalo sauce on the side. When we FINALLY got our food there was no onion on my pizza and instead of Buffalo sauce for the calzone they brought 2 containers of marinara sauce. My boyfriend couldn't even taste the supposedly extra Buffalo sauce inside the calzone and when we told the owner about the situation she skirted around the mishap and we were told that all the calzones came with marinara sauce ALTHOUGH we specifically ordered buffalo sauce. She took away the marinara sauce and brought us the buffalo sauce. The server apologized and said that it was the cooks first day. But here's the thing that bothers me the most and it happened here as well as other restaurants. It is my opinion that if ANYTHING that a patron orders at a restaurant is going to cost "extra" why doesn't the server inform the patron that there will be an upcharge? Regardless of the charge because when we got our check we were charged $2.98 for the buffalo sauce. Ridiculous! We drove 17 miles to eat at this Red Devil restaurant because we like the place and have never had a bad experience or bad food. This time was very different. The server that took care of the table of 4 close to us was very attentive to his party and came to their table several times to attend to their needs, but our server wasn't as attentive. I had to go look for someone to help us to get some buffalo sauce. It was the owner that I found first. I told her about the marinara sauce instead of buffalo sauce and that we didn't think the calzone was a buffalo sauce calzone and her reply was " Oh it is. I was right there when he ( the cook ) made it. It made us feel like we didn't know what we were talking about. There was barely any buffalo sauce in the calzone to make it stand out as a buffalo calzone. Needless to say we won't be back to this location. We will go to the 32nd street location in the future. If you want a really good buffalo sauce chicken calzone I highly recommend Vitos on Lindsay & Mckellips. It's delicious and packed with plenty of chicken. read more

The lovely lady at the window was all smiles and as soon as she handed me the pizza, her smile grew even more. She knew I was about to have my socks blown off and my skirt flipped because their food is of legend. The car ride home was torture. The smell of the 14" Red Devil Supremo (pepperoni, chunky sausage, canadian bacon, and hamburger) and the 10 pc. chicken wings with N.Y. mild sauce was almost too much. And that first bite? Bliss! My workplace caters from here often but my wife hasn't had it and decided that she needed pizza on Saturday. Who am I to deny her? This place practices the 6ft. distancing and they utilized their pizza pick-up window. Very convenient! The wife ordered some pizza and wings from the handy dandy Yelp app, we were given a pick-uptime, and tada! Pizza on a Saturday night. The car was scented by the food an our tummies were growling. Thin crust, bright tomato-y crust, meats on meats on meats, and a sprinkling of herbs on top welcomed us. The N.Y. mild sauce wings were tasty and I couldn't stop eating them. The wife had 1.5 slices of pizza and one wing so this worked out for me. Gimme all tue god hot eat! Get a 14" pizza and wings for a nice meal in. Red Devil pizza is devilishly good. Let me start by saying that I have been coming here for at least 13 years. We have been in Cali so we haven't eaten here in about 6 months. A couple days ago, I ordered a chicken parmigiana sandwich and 10 buffalo medium wings. This place has GONE TO s*!t. Seriously. The chicken parm sandwich bread was less than half the size it used to be. Also, it looked like someone stepped on it. Add to that the fact that there was NO CHEESE and NO SAUCE. Wtf is that about??? And the wings...they gave me 9 drums and 1 flat. That's fine. I like drums. But they were cold and bone dry, and I'm being generous if I said there was a teaspoon of sauce on them. I love giving good reviews. Just check out my other reviews. A place has to be BEYOND AWFUL for me to leave a bad review. But this was hideous. I guess they don't care about quality anymore. I want to give it 4 stars but just can't. After getting our taxes done next door on a Weds night... we knew we were going to go to Red Devil. We even checked that they would be open.. and serving alcohol...( as we owe taxes... need to drown in our misery). Came out and walked next door. The take out pizza window was open... but we looked at the door... t was dark. No lighting anywhere. Huh..? That's weird... I walk up to the door thinking there is a sign... I look in... there are people in there. Whaaatt? Looks like it us closed. Okay... we walk in... young lady is way in the back... doesn't say a word. We wait... then I start walking towards the back... she says I'll be right with you. Cool. I said are you still serving? Yes... we are open until 9:00. If was 8:10. We get seated. There are 4 tables with people. We ordered wine... We wait. We wait. I told my husband what I wanted while I use the restroom. I come back... still no wine. Finally she comes over and says she'll be taking our order as the server us busy. Really? She had 3 tables.. and one was completely done and sitting there. Good lord... I can handle that whole dining room of 50 people. Even the manager was working. It wasn't lack of help. 3 people to handle 3 tables. Pretty darn good. There was no extra anything. Just service. The stars are for the food. Although we always go to the McDowell location.. the food is always good. But honestly... act like you even want to be there. We never leave just %20 ... always more... but this time that is all she got. And really it was hard to do that... but we know his hard it's been to get help. Not sure if we will be back next year at tax time. Will most likely look for a place that wants our business. Also.... Again.. how about some outside lighting and in the entryway. Geez... awful.
