I just moved to the area so found this place for a hem and tapering of my pants. They pinned my pants and it seemed fine. On pickup however, the width of the pants were still too large and I asked them to redo it. Instead of offering to fix this issue, they said that since they pinned the pants there was no way that it was not perfect so if I wanted it redone they would have to charge me. Since they close relatively late, I decided fine, I'll pay them to redo it. The second time around, it was actually uneven on each side of the pants with hem lines that looked like something I could have done at home. The finish on the hem looked like it was done quickly and the inseam inside the pants had threads that were already starting to come apart. I just took the loss and gave up on these pants. I think if you want cheap alterations on cheap clothes, this is the place to go. I would not trust them with clothing of value like wedding dresses or suits etc because the risk of them doing a poor job is pretty high. Their stitching technique and the finishes on the hem is poor and you can tell that the volume that they have at the store is affecting the quality. Additionally, you would actually end up paying more because they would charge each time they have to redo anything. I understand that it takes some effort to redo and fix something, but that is part of the integrity of a business. If something is not done correctly, it should be fixed to satisfaction without requiring the customer to pay more for their own mistake. read more

I brought in a denim skirt to get the waist cinched/altered, and at first, when I tried it on to show them how tight I wanted it to be the lady told me "You cannot do..." (imagine that in a Filipino accent, I'm Filipino lol so hearing that made me get nervous ) she used safety pins to get the measurements of how I wanted it to be (SEE FIRST ATTACHED PICTURE) She asked me if it was okay and I said yes as long as it won't be crooked. When I picked up the skirt, it was such a clean and amazing alteration! Horrible customer service. The lady helping me with my alteration was rude to me the entire time. I wanted to know how much she was hemming my jeans and she sounded very annoyed. I finally told her I just want 2 inches off the waist and legs. She got upset saying that she didn't need to pin me, which I understand, but then she proceeded to voice her frustration in Tagalog to the other guy working while I was changing and could obviously hear and understand. Since the loss of my previous dry cleaner, I had to find another option. Since moving I heard about this place and HOT DAMN was it the right choice. I brought in my suit to be altered to my dimensions. I also had my favorite hoodie taken in to be fixed at the pocket. The price was decent and worth the wait since i didn't need them right away. I will go back and perhaps I can expect a dry cleaning job to be quick as the ladies there work really hard. On a side note, I left my hanger there and got it back. I love supporting this place. I've interacted with Louie, Baby, and a couple other people whose names I'm forgetting but each and every person is very kind, helpful, and professional. I came in with a bridesmaids dress that fit, but just needed to be taken out the tiniest bit in the waist. They were prompt, explained what they would do, and even added a hook to help clasp the back of the dress. I dropped off the dress on a Friday or Saturday and it was ready to go by Wednesday, looking PERFECT. Total, for the alteration and hook addition, I happily paid about $30-$35. They have also tailored some skirts I wanted to have taken in for $15. I'm planning to take a silk shirt I stained in as well. Basically I'm saying that I WANT to give these people my business because they do great work, quickly, and with a warm smile. I've never had anything altered before so finding a place was hard but this place has so many good reviews on yelp I decided to give it a try. I needed my bridesmaid dresses hemmed a little so I don't trip and fall and my hubby needed the pants and jacket to his suite altered. Baby helped us and she was so knowledgeable and helped us a lot. I recommend if you are having clothes altered for a special occasion make sure you bring the shoes you will be wearing with the dress or with the pants so she can alter it accordingly. It took her about a week and a half and when we picked up our clothes they were pressed/steamed and when we tried them at home everything was PERFECT! Hem in my dress was just grazing the top of my feet which was what I wanted and my hubby's clothes fit him so much better and form fitting. I will be bringing my clothes here from now on. read more

I brought in a jacket to be altered and pants to be tapered and hem. JACKET: I need to make the sleeves tighter and bring in the waist. PANTS: The pants was 4 size bigger than what I wear and need to bring it down and make it skinnier around my thigh and calves. I wore the jacket and pants and the person accommodating me started pinning it down to where it best fits me. The pants turned out really good and fits really well. The jacket did not turn out to be as I expected, but it still fitted okay, so I wont count it against them. The job was still done cleanly and the quality of the work is superb! Additionally, the jacket and pants was also steam clean and pressed. I would definitely go back again if I were to have another alteration done. I came here to get a suit jacket tailored. I needed the sleeves shortened by a few inches; when I arrived they recommended also bringing in the waist. This store is situated in a small plaza of stores and is conveniently located on the corner of an intersection. The parking lot is small, but had a few spots open both times I came here. Inside, there is a dry cleaning side and an alteration side. On the alteration side, there are some changing rooms in case you have to put on your outfit for the fitting. The staff are friendly. I paid $40 for all of my alterations ($15 to shorten the sleeves and $25 to take in the waist). Because I told them I was in no rush, it took a couple of days to get back my suit top. The quality of the alterations was very good. My only letdown was that the tapering on the waist alteration was not perfectly flush - still that is a tough part to tailor and I do not know if another tailor could have done as well for that price. Overall, I am happy I followed the Yelp crowd to this alteration store. My suit definitely fits a lot better after going here! read more

I've brought in suits, shirts, jackets, sweaters, pants, and jeans. They've all been returned to me in the same condition: clean, soft, and undamaged. The staff is friendly, quick, and professional. Having your clothes cleaned by Louie's is cake. You give them your phone number in order to bill your account (I think all they need are a name and phone number to create an account, if you're new), they go through the clothes you have, they ask you when you want them ready, they give you a ticket/receipt, then you're out. They don't sell you anything extra. They don't have any promotion or deals 'cause their prices are cheap every day. Picking up your clothes is just as easy: you hand them your ticket/receipt, they get your clothes, then you're off . Don't worry if you forgot or lost your receipt. Just give them your phone number. With the type of clothes I bring in, they can have it ready by their next business day. I'm not so sure how quickly they can clean other types of clothes. They're open Monday through Saturday. So, if you need something cleaned by Sunday, you should bring it in Friday for next day pickup. I've brought in clothes to other cleaners for convenience's sake, but I've never been satisfied 'cause I get them back super stiff. I don't know if Louie's doesn't use starch or uses less of it, but I definitely prefer Louie's process over others. I bought 11 pairs of Levis 511s and needed it tapered and hemmed before I leave for my vacation. I wanted to support local business in Carson so I looked on yelp and found Louie's for its 5 star rating. So I went in and someone greeted me right away and I told them I would like to get measured for a skinny tapered look as well as to hem the jeans. A lady measured me and all it took her was five minutes to figured it all out. She asked how it looks and how's the length and I approved it. The lady mentioned that she sleeps and wakes up with jeans on her mind so I entrusted her with the measurements. Heh. It was 7$ for the hem and 12$ for the taper. They accept credit/cash and they accepts for your phone number in case you lose the receipt. It took them almost a week to finish the work on my jeans which I didn't mind because my flight is the following. The taper and hem is beyond perfect. I can never get the perfect jeans unless I get it tapered and hemmed and they nailed it. From now on, this will be my go to place when I need alterations. read more
