I brought in a dress that I'd just received in by mail. It appeared to be worn so I asked them to clean it and to NOT remove the tag because I've not had a chance to try it on yet. I picked up the dress two days later and the 1st thing I noticed was the tag had been removed. This is a $250+ dress! If they couldn't clean it without removing the tag then speak up and let me know. I am fuming. I was told I would receive a phone call the next day, after they had a chance to try to track down the tag. I've heard nothing. read more

It's been a while since I came to this place for alterations but decided to come back on a recommendation from friends and family who came recently to have their gowns altered. I got there around 4:30 and their business hours stated they close at 5:00. When the old lady with the glasses saw I had a gown, she repeatedly told me that they are closed and she didn't have time to start the measurement! Why waste my time? Mind you I was already standing there in my gown!! She kept saying "we are closed, we are closed...this will take 2 hrs to measure..you should have come earlier" RUDE! Never coming back here again. We have moved 3 times since then, and live in Orange County now...but we drive there once a week to drop off & pick up our dry cleaning. Absolutely friendly and professional. Louie's had good customer service, Bebe was very friendly and helpful. But they ruined a shirt and tailored one pant leg a half inch too short. When we discovered everything was off, they were very apologetic, agreed to repair the pants for free, and offered a full refund of the cost to tailor the shirt, as well as the original cost of the shirt. Long story: I brought a tuxedo jacket, a shirt, and pants to tailor. The jacket was taken in at the back and looked good. The shirt sleeve lengths were tailored in length as if they would be unfolded and weren't French cuffs, so they were about an inch or two too short. The shirt chest was taken in too much and was pulling open. The pant legs were different lengths, and there was a wrinkle sewn into the pant seat seam. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it's near my home & I try to support local businesses in my area, but... 1. I wasn't greeted when I first walked in, waited around a minute or two before someone came up to me and assisted me 2. No one was particularly friendly to me (no one said hi, no smile, nothing) 3. Was told that they were busy, so the pants that I was getting dry cleaned would not be ready until Friday after 5pm (I dropped them off on Monday afternoon) 4. I was given my ticket, but nowhere did it say "cash only" which caused a problem when I picked up, expecting them to accept cards. This should be made clear when dropping off because of new customers such as myself. There were no signs in the establishment that said "cash only" either 5. Cheap price, which I was happy about until I discovered... 6. The pants were dry cleaned & pressed -looked very nice, except they still smelled like they had been worn (I could smell body lotion from when I had worn them in the past) leading me to believe they didn't do a thorough job. I guess you get what you pay for, but I was really expecting clean, fresh pants. I'm never coming back here again! read more

I had a leather vest that needed nine custom patches sewn on in a short time and Baby took care of me even though it was Prom season. There were few times that i didnt have the time to stop by at the place due to distance, and I have taken my clothers and other alterations to some place else.. This shop is by the far, the most convenient place I've ever encountered! :) Baby ( receptionist) is so friendly and welcoming; I called to inquire about hemming the bottoms of flannel pajama bottoms and pajama button jackets, and she gave me a great deal, since I took over a dozen pajamas to get altered. When I got there, she was very attentive to what I wanted done and made me feel assured that they would fix them the way I would like them. I dropped off the pajamas at 2:30pm, and Baby told me they would all be done in a couple days; I get a call at 4:40 from the shop letting me know that the seamstress had already finished my things. INCREDIBLE!! I am very happy to have found this place, it's local, affordable and amazing customer service!! I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK. If I could give them 0 stars I would for dry cleaning. I don't know anything about the alterations, but the dry cleaning....WTF. I sent in two khaki trench coats. These trench coats are a couple of thousand dollars each....My husbands trench coat had a small stain on the front side that I showed them and THAT WAS LITERALLY just it, that one little cake stain, NO OTHER STAINS....I come back a couple of days later, and there was a shitload of what looked like oil stains all over the sleeve....Like wtf? But I didn't make a scene...because well I gave them a chance (OH BOY SHOULD I HAVE NOT)...So I told them, "what is this? That was never there"....So the mexican lady was like oooh okay, keep the belt and she will take care of the coat...So I was like okay....In my mind, like WTF DO YOU NOT CHECK THE CLOTHES AFTER IT'S BEEN CLEANED TO MAKE SURE YOUUUUUUU DIDNT MAKE ANY OF YOUUUUURRRR OWN F*KIN STAINS??? ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I've been to sooo many dry cleaners and this is NOT good business practice and soooooooo F#####kin UNPROFESSIONAL. WTF. HOW DO YOU GIVE BACK CLEAN CLOTHES AND STAIN THEM ON YOUR OWN TO YOUR CLIENT?? THis makes NOOOOOO F####in sense! So I called them and said there was a stain on the belt, THERE WAS NEVER STAIN ON THE BELT TO BEGIN WITH....So she asks me to come back and drop it off..... and NOPE, it doesn't end here either.....So I drop it off, without making a damn scene... They said it would be ready by the next day...I had work so I told my husband to pick it up.....I come home from work and ask him about the belt....and he is like....Well...the stain is still there.................... WOWWWWWW!! SO i look and the F###KING stain is still there!!! JUST slightly lighter.......a stain that had never been there in the first place.....I am LIVID...... SO......DON'T EVER TAKE YOUR CLOTHES HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM TO PERMANENTLY STAIN YOUR CLOTHES..... wow...just wow.... read more

Took a pair of slacks for a simple hem up about 2 inches. Pants ended up showing ankle when worn waaaaay too short . Stitching done very poorly and hem was about 1 1/2" thick looked very bad. Do not have alterations done here. read more

I've heard of this place before and decided to take my quinceneara dress to get cleaned here, mine you it's been ten years since my quince. The dress had a lot of stains and especially a huge one in the center of the dress near my stomach, they were able to remove all the stains and the dress is just as gorgeous as when my parents bought it and now my little sister can wear it for her quince :) I paid $125 and worth every penny read more

Went here to get a few clothes altered- my pants were hemmed and taken in at the waist without a problem; however, she wasn't able to fix a dress that had some threading come loose. Lovely service! I dropped off a black gown 2 days before my event and never have I been so impressed with the alteration service! I've also been here once before for my medical scrub uniforms and it was awesome! Very fast and efficient service. Both times the alteration lady finished my clothes on time and was never late. I've been taking my clothes to Louie's Cleaners & Alterations for years. Love their service. Fast and efficient. Price is very reasonable. As an added plus, they clean designer handbags too. I had oily gum stains on my red leather Burberry purse. When I took it to the Burberry store, the employee told me that they couldn't clean the stains. She suggested that I take the purse to a leather store to dye it black. Ugh. Luckily, I happened to mention the purse to "Baby" of Louie's Cleaners. She said that she could remove the oil stains. I just moved to Carson from the Bay Area. I was spoiled because my job had Purple Ties. I went to three other cleaners before I found Louie's on Yelp. Louie's is fabulous. I judge a cleaners by the cost of having a woman's shirt laundered. Many cleaners charge $2 for a man's shirt and $4 for a woman's blouse. I have asked why, but the cleaners do not have a reason. Louie's charges $2. I started to bring my blouses here and now I bring all of my dry cleaning as well. They do a great job. Thanks Baby (the nice person who is usually at the counter). read more
