Walked into Louie's and immediately noticed the lobby was overcrowded--not surprising, given how poorly it's laid out. There's really no room to wait without being in the way. The hosts seemed a bit disorganized at first, but after about five minutes, we were seated. Our server was absolutely phenomenal. She had a vibrant personality, clearly enjoyed her job, and struck the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving us space. Major props to her! We ordered the pizza and chicken nachos. The pizza was just okay--not something I'd recommend. It was light on sauce, and what little sauce there was tasted overly sweet. On the flip side, the chicken nachos were fabulous, and the salsa was a standout. Drink menu was impressive with lots of options. I called the restaurant on their direct number and placed an order with the person that answered the phone, a very simple order of some wings. When we arrived to pick up our order, they had nothing for us and no idea that I had called; kept asking me if I was sure I didn't place an online order instead. Just to add insult to injury. I had the southwest rice bowl and it was yummy. They don't have chicken sandwiches but you can make any burger a chicken sandwich. Kids liked the wings but the ranch was a bit watery. The only thing that was not the best was the fish tacos. Only thing wrong is they come with a lot of toppings. Rice, beans, pico, all on top of the fish. We found this place on Maps on the way thru Yukon. We were greeted as soon as we walked in; seated ourselves; it was after the lunch rush so not too busy. Our waitress was Jennifer, nice and attentive; she answered the questions we had. We ordered baked meatballs to try-yum! I had poblano chicken tacos with chips and salsa, hubs ordered shrimp tacos with chips and salsa. Both were delicious. The chips were crunchy and salsa was house made! We'll be back. I ordered the blackened shrimp rice bowl, which consisted of blackened shrimp, pineapples, honey, cilantro and fresh lime juice for $14. The meal was so amazing that I had to go home and try to duplicate it to no avail. Now for the good part, because if you're going to a bar, you obviously want a drink, right? Wow, popular place on a Friday night. I had dinner at Tokyo Moon and then stopped in here for a couple beers and watch the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings games, the bartenders were very friendly and professional and they definitely had their groove on with as busy as it was. I looked at the menu and lots of great bar foods, but this place is also family friendly. I was staying at the Fairfield Inn and Suites across the way and it made this a convenient but fun place to stop, definitely will come here again and worth a stop if you want that sports bar atmosphere. When she refilled my drink she overfilled it and didn't even apologize. With the desired item wanted not available when ordering we were told she would check and never heard back. The other staff that delivered our food was very nice and in watching the other tables they all seem to get good service. However from our experience we won't be back at this location. Friendly staff with excellent seating options. Food is fantastic. The kid menu was a hit with the littles. Friday night wait time was about 10 minutes. You can choose to seat yourself or wait to be seated if your group is larger than 6. Our waitress was top notch. The fries are really great and my husband said his fish was good and the desert was good although I personally wouldn't get the syrup on all of it next time. The fried pickles were good although I will say the ranch and other sauce were really watery/ runny. We had a large group of about 20. Our waitress was awesome. Our appetizers of fried cheese and green beans were both cooked great. Our tabs were broken up into 4. Not everyone on each tab was sitting together. She nailed it!! They let us make a reservation in advance in their extra room. We were not the only ones in there but it seemed like we were. Our guys are kind of loud so no one bothered us, we may have bothered others. LOL! I'm pretty sure everyone was happy with their food. We had pizza, burgers, sandwiches, salad, and bowls I didn't hear any complaints from anyone. We were their a couple of hours and they were so nice not to mind that we sort of sat around and visited. This was a fun stop for grub on our way to the Yukon Nights car cruise in. We ate with some good friends and enjoyed a long leisurely meal. It was excellent service with no rush! Unfortunately, Alfredo's was closed for the night and I missed my plane to go back home to Vegas, so I wasn't in the best of moods. I guess I'd try Louie's. What a pleasant surprise! I had some incredible fish at this restaurant. I ordered the black bean salsa tilapia with a side of broccoli salad and potato soup. Literally, everything was great tasting! My husband loved his double cheeseburger. The menu says burgers and sandwiches come with a "half pound of golden fries," which might be true, but it didn't look like that much food haha!
