Back when I visited, the top space near the main road was hosting charming daytime gatherings--luncheons and bridal showers--while the main room filled up with couples out on date nights. I came in wanting to sample a broad cross-section of the menu, ordering a full table spread. I'll address the elephant in the room: there are often discussions about microaggressions or subtle discrimination in these upscale, homogenous Long Island pockets. Being non-white in a notoriously wealthy town like Port, the energy can feel a bit distinct, and we did sense a slight difference in service dynamic compared to neighboring tables. However, our waiter was pleasant and attentive, keeping things standard and professional. When the food hit the table, though? It completely delivered. The cuts were impeccably prepared, the seafood was fresh, and every dish justified the price tag. If you aren't bothered by hearing dishware and silverware dropping every 10 minutes while dining, then by all means you can check it out. We definitely saw a lot of broken plates and spilled drinks during Sunday's brunch service. The restaurant gets incredibly busy for their unlimited Sunday Brunch so expect long lines at the one section where food is displayed. We thoroughly enjoyed the prime rib and porchetta. The raw bar oysters could have been better, they seemed flat and not freshly shucked. The lobster and shrimp cocktail were a highlight. The red seabass and salmon were under seasoned, over cooked and very dry. The service we received from Jose was impeccable. We felt looked after by him and he was lovely. The bill came out to around $100 per person and I can't say I would return as it was below our expectations. read more

Beautiful place, great views, good vibes for the summer. Just had my 32nd anniversary dinner and it was fab. Drinks were delish, we had cold fish ( lobster , shrimp etc) as an appetizer, soups and clams. All great. Filet Mignon and Porterhouse were all top notch. Solid meal! Our third visit (April 2026)! We went on a warm spring day and were able to dine outside on their amazing deck. We had another great meal there, and this time our waiter was Darwin, who is so enthusiastic, energetic and charming. He guided us through the menu and specials, and treated us like honored guests throughout the meal. Bar drinks were fantastic, as usual: margaritas and their Kare Killer Old Fashioned. We enjoyed a couple of specials: Connecticutt Lobster Roll (warm, buttery and stuffed with lobster) and th Alaskan Halibut (so tender and juicy, on a bed of spinach). We ordered both the coconut layer cake (a favorite!) and their Louie's Ice Cream Sundae (with salted caramel, popcorn!, pecans and warm chocolate sauce). My husband almost dropped the bomb on my birthday dinner and made reservations the same morning for a 7pm reservation and asked for a good table. They did an amazing job and we sat at the perfect table over watching the sunset. Food: the tomahawk has honestly got to be the best one I had in my life. Only con: the calamari, it was over fried. Came here for an intimate celebration and we weren't disappointed. We were immediately seated at a wonderful table outside, however we asked to be inside because the temperature was falling. The staff was extremely friendly, including the management. Now to the drinks and food. We had a few pear-sol margaritas, bourbons, and a few other cocktails. All were great. For our food we ordered crab cakes, Hampton roll, and the shrimp & lobster bisque. For entrees we ordered salmon with mashed potatoes and the wagyu bacon burger. That burger was amazing! Came here to celebrate my FIL's birthday. We were excited to come given the renovation and the option for seafood and steak. We were led to a back room close to the water. Unfortunately, our dinner was ruined by terrible service. There was basically no service. We sat for 10 minutes waiting for menus, water, and the proper number of plates and utensils. We did not want to order drinks despite our waiter asking us three times. We already confirmed no drinks. We shared: -fried calamari -2 French onion soups and a lobster bisque -beet and goat cheese salad -porterhouse medium rare for 2 -whole branzino -sides of fries and creamed spinach. Despite stating we were sharing the apps, we didn't get extra spoons for the soup. We also weren't given serving utensils for the salad until half way through. Couldn't even find our waiter to flag him down. For mains, every other table around us was being served the porterhouse on their plate. Great service. We got the one waiter who couldn't care. Didn't even ask if steak was cooked to our temperature (which it was). Didn't come to serve anything. The steak and fish were cooked perfectly. Everything was delicious, but the service made us not want to go back. We also told the hostess and another waitress (since our waiter couldn't be found), that it is my FIL's birthday. She said they can put a candle in his dessert. When it came to ordering dessert, our waiter told us they ran out of a couple items including vanilla ice cream. Took 20 min after clearing out our mains to get a dessert menu. We asked for the flourless chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream as a sub. He couldn't believe 5 were sharing one dessert, but we were already stuffed and just wanted a nice candle and happy birthday! When the dessert came out, there was vanilla ice cream. Our waiter didn't even realize what he brought out. Also had NO happy birthday acknowledgement. Seriously wish Louie's did a better job. Not sure if I'd come back. read more

Here's the Scoop! Today is my husbands birthday and I treated him to breakfast/brunch at Louie's. Upon entering the restaurant the ambiance is gorgeous lighting, seating, and outside views of the water is awesome. The restaurant has an airy feeling. The spread is unbelievable as you can see in my photos and videos. Everything was displayed beautifully. Sautéed Vegetables looked and tasted succulent and the baked salmon, lobster claws, huge shrimp, baked Chilean sea bass, waffles, French toast, home fries, waffle fries, just to name a few of the items. There's also an omelette bar, ice cream bar and carving board. This food is so fresh, such excellent waiter service and the views are beautiful. I was tapping a tune the entire time. My palate was so delighted by the many tastes I enjoyed. This place is a must see and indulge. Our waiter Mike was on his A game as were the many other wait staff that quickly took away plates, filled water glasses and coffee cups. They sang happy birthday to my honey and gave him a slice of chocolate cake with a lit candleI. I'm definitely returning to enjoy this awesome spread again. Ive been a regular here for years and it has always been a pleasure dining at Louie's. From the bartenders such as Fiona, to Hector the Supreme always greeting me and making sure I'm having the best possible experience, to the front desk always being welcoming, Louie's has always been one of my go to spots that I frequent and bring friends to. The renovations are beautiful and some do the best interior designing I've seen on Long Island; especially with the beautiful view right by the water. The food is delicious ranging from the amazing appetizers (the shrimp tacos are a must), to their new sushi additions, and their entrees never miss. I recently went for a birthday and the staff ensured my party was taken care of with deserts and love! My wife and I dined here at 2pm on Saturday, supposed to celebrate my birthday. This was an extremely disappointing experience. It began by a man who checks people in at the front shooing us to the side because he "had to reset everything" when I said we had a 2pm reservation. A few minutes later, he started yelling "sir!" over and over again, about 4 times, turns out he was talking to my wife - a woman, trying to get her attention. I said "she's not a sir" as the hostess directed us. She brought us outside, I said we asked for indoor. She asked if we booked on OpenTable, which I said yes, and she said because it's a third party site they don't follow it but we could be seated inside. We were seated, and the hostess apologized for the sir comment which was appreciated. Our waiter avoided all eye contact with us and actually shifted his body away from us when he did speak to us. It took 40 minutes to get tap water filled in our glasses, I had to ask twice. Service was extremely slow, however we watched our server go around to the tables around us while neglecting ours. We had an appetizer and entree, and we were in the restaurant for 2 hours. The restaurant was busy, yes, but there was ample staff seen around so they were not understaffed. Our waiter gave us a dessert menu and took another 20 minutes before coming back, so we just asked for the check since we had been there for 2 hours already. We felt extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable here and we definitely won't return. Extremely disappointing birthday celebration for me, just really disheartening. Only saving grace was the food and drinks were actually good, atmosphere is pretty, but the service was atrocious. If you're not going to follow opentable reservations, don't offer it on your site. And maybe have your staff welcoming of all people. read more

Today for "ladies night" me and my friends wanted to go somewhere by the water.. Louie's did not disappoint! I'm currently not allowed to drink but the drinks looked amazing, the food was nicely plated, and were pretty good. The bread was definitely super salty (do not recommend!) if you love sushi, I recommend the "Chas Roll" -- aaaaamazing!! Our waiter: Santiago was very good! This man has a voice of an "announcer," he was very clear and precise when he spoke, every word was clearly heard and understood! He took our orders right away, answered all of our questions, and brought our drinks and food rather quickly. The place is overall very clean and the service is very good. Whether or not you will be impressed by the Sunday Brunch really depends on how you prefer to eat lobster. It was a big disappointment to have driven 30 miles in hopes of unlimited hot freshly-steamed lobster and not getting it! The lobster served here has been steamed, chilled, cut in half and served cold. Many people enjoy parts of the lobster such as the tamale and don't want just cold and tough claws and tails. If you have no interest in eating lobster, than the rest of the buffet has many appealing choices and you can absolutely get good value for the price. read more

Love the newly renovated Louie! It has such a warm and inviting vibe. We've dined in the main dining room with the fireplace, which felt cozy and comfortable. I've also sat upstairs in the big beautiful space. Upstairs also has a fireplace and is perfect for gatherings. They mentioned the upstairs area can host events for up to 80 people. Our server, Sheikh, was welcoming and engaging, cracking jokes and chatting with us, which made the whole experience feel even more enjoyable. The food and portions are generous. I usually go for the steak and lobster and it never disappoints. I ended the night with warm apple crumble and vanilla ice cream. This was our first time back since the renovation, and we were so impressed with both the space and the food! We started with a dozen East Coast oysters . They were nice and fresh. For our entrée, we had a honey glazed lamb chop, which completely exceeded expectations. It was tender, flavorful, and just the right balance of savory and sweet. The seared sea scallops were a smaller portion, but were excellent, especially with the subtle jalapeño spice that gave it a nice kick. We paired our meal with Sauvignon Blanc, which complemented the seafood beautifully. To finish, we treated ourselves to sea salt caramel ice cream and an espresso, which was a simple but perfect ending. The service also deserves a mention. What they did in this restaurant was to turn a great all around spot with good food into a five-star fine dining experience with a vibe, amazing views and a beautiful dock. I have never had an issue pulling in to dock-and-dine, and they have people on the dock helping. Since the renovations and nee ownership, the food quality had been upgraded. The pork chops, steak, lamb chops, all to perfection, though maybe a touch less salt in the steak would be better for my taste. I always get the Burrata here and their cheese is so creamy. Tonight was the first time I tried the sushi and loved the Pacific roll. We had our anniversary dinner there and the staff took very nice care of us. Our waiter (Timo?) was amazing and did some great photography work as well. I also lost something there the previous time and they had it waiting for me when I got there. Came here for dinner in Jan 2026 on a weeknight with bunch of friends. My friends ordered seafood, steak, ice cream, etc. I ordered Prime Cheeseburger medium rare. The patty was done properly, juicy and tasty. However, the burger was very simple: cheese, lettuce, tomato and no sauce. It came with fries. I feel for the reputation of the place, the way the burger was prepared was too plain and for the price of 26.5 it wasn't worth it. I could have better burger at Shake Shack for 3 times less. I peeked at my friend's steak that was supposed to be medium rare, but the color of the steak looked it was rare instead. Overall, I don't think it was worth the place. The only thing standing between Louie's way of being 5 stars is itself. I have never seen a front end managed more horribly in my life. Seriously, a host at any Applebees could teach this place a lesson. The fact this place doesn't take reservations is an issue in its own, but putting that's aside, once your name is on the waiting list (which on a weekend will be around 2 hours) simply wait about 20-30 minutes at the bar and then complain and the host will just seat you ahead of others who are patiently waiting. Also, you'll get a text when you put your name in that shows a waitlist, but, again, they are not using this list, they simply pluck people who are complaining and just seat them. Okay, you survived the nightmare of the front end and you've sat in your seat. The nightmare doesn't end here. The drinks were actually pretty good and the sushi was delicious as well. However, the issues from the front end spill into the backend too as the entire experience at the table feels rushed which then causes more issues. We ordered the kale Caesar salad but when it came it was regular lettuce; no kale. We ordered truffle Mac and cheese, but instead we got regular Mac and cheese. The food was mediocre at best, but the prices are on par with higher end steakhouses on Long Island. The food misses the mark in comparison to other steakhouses like insignia, opus, rare 650, etc. Overall, I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone and that is forgoing the fact there was floating objects in both of the waters which were poured at the table. read more

Came here for Sunday brunch 2 weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised! Louie's just started an AYCE brunch service (only on Sundays) in mid-December. Price is ~$70+ pp and it's relatively reasonable if you compare it to other brunch places like Red Salt Room (~$120 pp). The food served is what you'd expect to get from their dinner service - fresh sashimi, sushi, ham, steak, bacon, and more. In addition to all the hard-hitting proteins, they have a comprehensive salad and vegetable bar, classic brunch items (French toast - get this!, pancakes - can skip), and a dessert section (including ice cream!) 1 cocktail is also included per person. I'd recommend their brunch as a nice experience to take your loved ones to as a treat, especially if you haven't been to Louie's before. It's a great way to try a variety of their foods. Service was also proactive and great. Big reason why it's 4 and not 5 stars is because brunch started 20 min later (had a 10:30 reservation, but couldn't get food until 10:50). But, being that the brunch service was relatively new, this was understandable! Would definitely go back for this experience. read more

We went for their third week of their Sunday brunch buffet. They started a little slow but understandable since they're trying something new. Price was $70 per person when we went and it's well worth it. Great assortment of food and never ran out. We went at opening with a reservation so we got a great view and it wasn't too crowded yet. One drink is included (mimosa, etc). Parking was easy and free since it's Sunday we parked on the street right in front. Quality is not on par for the price they charge. $5 for oysters and they were tiny, not Kumamoto. Just some east/west coast oysters. Also be careful as the menu is tricky, we ordered 2 porterhouse with the menu showing $75 1-2 people. We did not see per person on there. In the end we were charged $300 for it. For that price, can go to any of the local steakhouses for better quality. read more

It's sleek and modern with floor to ceiling windows that are guaranteed to capture a beautiful sunset. My table started our meal by sharing some appetizers. The burrata and crabcakes are definitely worth trying. We also ordered a couple of sushi rolls. They could have been dinner alone. The sushi was delicious. For my dinner I ordered the Chicken Milanese. It was perfect. The chicken was thin and crispy, and the salad on top hit the spot. It was the perfect dinner after all of the apps and sushi we had. The staff here were also great. They were very attentive, made recommendations from the menu, and got out food to us quickly. Overall, it was a great night. Had lunch here today with my brother. We both had clams on the half shell , very good and the lobster role and again delicious. The service was very good and the atmosphere was upscale casual. Last time I was here was 50ish years ago and obviously it is very different. Returned for nostalgic reasons, so very different but helped with the memories. We sat at the table for almost 5 minutes when a waiter finally came over - did not introduce himself, did not ask if we want to order drinks. He basically told us to go get food and walked away. There are plenty of food but honestly nothing stand out. The prime rib is too dry, plus the guy who man the table looked like you are bothering him; Sushi, breakfast items and dessert are mediocre; seafood is fresh, no complaint. During our 90 minutes there, no one ever came to ask if we need anything. We had to ask twice to get our water refilled. We had to stop the waiter when he walked by.
