It's a solid option if you want a quick fix and a good variety of fish, but the flavor doesn't hit as bold as the original Louisiana spots closer to the beach cities. Customer Service is Pooor!! I was in the area btw, it takes me 45min to get there. Arrived 3min before opening. Light skin lady with curly hair and glasses opens the door and says we don't open for five minutes. The cashier and I said at the same time 3min!!! She proceeded to bring out chairs and then right at 10:59 closes and locks door. Normally I would have drove away but my mom wanted fish!! Then I wait in the car and called, btw.... It's now after 11am. And the slow person answered the phone responding to my question that they been open since 11. I said are sure? And she said we're open. I go to the Dooor and still locked!' The rude chair lady looks at me and still doesn't open the door!! It took the NICE CASHIER GUY TO COME AND UNLOCK THE DOOR AND LET US IN!! BEWARE OF RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! The service was so good, he let us know they've been around 34 years and since it was our first time he went over the full menu with us. I belief it was the owner, he was super sweet, & welcoming. The food didn't need any help though. It was so delicious. The red snapper was cooked so well, all the sides were delicious & the gumbo was so flavorful and warm. It didn't come with tartar sauce or lemons so I did pay $1.50 extra for those but now we know. The place was packed but that just shows you how good it was but we were able to get a booth seat & never felt rushed, we even had the nice older Latino gentleman ask if he could wipe down our table since someone has just gotten up, which was so appreciated. read more

When the food is good, it is great. I ordered just about everything on the menu. My order was correct. I did enjoy the explanation of items from the cashier. I laughed at the fight over the last piece of cobbler too. However, when a fresh batch was made, it was a no trainer for me to get some! The restaurant is not very big. You can hear all conversations of everyone in the building. That part could be improved or mindfulness of what is discussed while customers are present. Prepare to wait for food to be prepared. I have never had quick service but I have enjoyed the food. Prices are quality prices. I enjoyed catfish, red snapper the most. My fries could have been hotter. Great customer service and the best location I've been to. The fish is fried perfectly, and the restaurant is clean.

The man at the counter treated me like I interrupted him while picking up my phone order. Only 1 couple there deciding and not busy. No greeting, no smile, no eye contact just dry. (I wondered if I was at "Dick's where customers are meant to be treated rudely). After paying I made a point to wait for a "thank you". (I wanted to just walk out and not give them my money). Well, it was as though someone made him do something against his will. Like working. I cook and the day after Christmas I wanted a break. I went to my car, took a taste and left the bag on the ground and went to the grocery store. Bought and cooked my own catfish. At least I smile when feeding people - and they don't pay for it. Just imagine if there was an issue with the food. Pearl clutching. Calked the restaurant and spoke to the manager. I received the "my apologies, he made a mistake, 'a mistake is when you accidently do something'. I guess ordering and picking up my food was a mistake also". Louisiana seafood was supposed to have our order ready by 5:30 PM for my mother's 75th birthday party. We arrived at 5:30 and the workers did not know of my order when they finally found it, It was already around 5:40. It took them 45 minutes to make my order which moved our party back a complete hour. When contacting the owner, all he would do was offer us a 12 piece meal and refused to refund our money or give us any amount of money back. He then made an excuse that the person taking the order should have told us to call prior to make sure that the order would be made. He would not take any personal responsibility for the stores action. also, the order was supposed to be fish fillet and chicken. They split the fillets in half and the chickens were drumettes versus four chicken wings. read more

Updating my review to add pics and since there are some new players around. Paid this spot a visit recently and the fish still stands up. As much as I hate places that are stingy with the hot sauce and condiments, this fish didn't really need it. It's seasoned really well, walking that fine line of seasoned and salty. I think the jalapeño they add to the order kinda rubs off on the fish and gives it a nice kick. Wish the portions were better but again, there are new players around so I don't have to be pressed to go with this place unless I'm in the area. Not a huge dining area inside. There are two restrooms. As far as customer service goes, they are cordial. The guys who take my order usually have a 'take it or leave it,' air about them. Please avoid this business at all costs! Two days prior to my mother 75th birthday party, I placed an order for chicken and fish. I paid over $300 for the food and was assured by an employee that it would be ready. When my husband went to pick it up on the day of the party it wasn't ready; they hadn't even started. It took the employees 10 minutes to find the order and another 45 minutes to prepare it. By the time I received it, I still had to drive to the venue. Their delay caused the guest of honor and our other guests, menu of who travel from out of state to attend the celebration . Everyone had to wait almost 1.5 hours, before they could even start eating! Also, beware of the portion sizes. Their fillets we split in half and actually comparable in size 2 strips. Their chicken wings were actually drumettes and flats. The seasoning was nothing special, I've had better. I live out of state and only ordered from this establishment because a friend recommended their food and the prices were decent. My dad contacted the owner 2 days later and requested a refund. He apologized then offered us a 12 piece dinner for our trouble. When my my dad requested at least half of the price, he said a 12 piece dinner was the best he could do and he WOULD'T do anything else! It was my first time eating here. It's located in a busy market plaza close to Del Taco. The parking can be hard to find. I was lucky and found one. The place seemed to be black owned, and employees and customers support the restaurant very well. The employees that work there are customer friendly and attentive to the customers. I decided to order the 4 piece catfish dinner that includes 4 fried catfish and 2 sides of your choice. I chose potato salad and hush puppies. The both of the sides were delicious. The catfish was crunch on the outside, and tender on the inside. I give everything a 4 star. I suggest that you order ahead to avoid waiting in line. Now I know why you only have a 3 rating, it's not because of the delicious fish you serve, but it's because of the horrible customer service you provide! You ask people to spend 30 to 40 dollars on fish and you give it to them with their hot sauce over spilling in their bag. When I return it and show her what a mess it made, you redo it and return it to me with no "hot sauce at all." Now that's what I call not F## caring about your customer. No apology either. I truly believe the owner does not give a F# about people dissatisfaction with his employees because people have been complaining for years about them!
