I am confused as to why the bouncer says you need to make reservations but the website says "Lounge 31 does not take reservations. Our reservations are based off a first come first serve basis, however when I was there I wanted to go to the lounge area and they said I could not get in because I needed reservations, so how are you supposed to get in if they don't take reservations, this is extremely confusing and unprofessional. I would like an explanation or the exact email or phone number to make a reservation with!!!!! read more

A beautiful lounge to unwind in! Festive, cozy, and romantic! Most definitely a place I can have a few glasses of champagne, artisan cocktails and nibbles of sushi for hours with friends! With a constant smile, she weaved through the crowded room all evening with ease, checking for refills of our table's drinks, the refreshing Strawberry Aperol Spritzer and delicious French 31, and removing our emptied plates! This place is delicious! It's tucked away on top of Bistro 31, so it can be a little hard to find, but look for the big "31" for Bistro 31, and you go up the stairs to the yellow awning. We went during happy hour (which is Mon-Sat at 4-7pm and all day Sun). I love their happy hour because they have appetizers and sushi on their HH menu! Sadly, they don't have drinks, but the drinks are worth it even at full price! They've got interesting cocktails - I got 31st Century. I was a bit unsure of how it would taste because I generally don't enjoy egg whites in my drink, but it actually tasted very refreshing and fruity, just how I like my drinks. I also tried a bit of the jalapeno peach mule and private jet - I didn't like PJ so much, but that's because I don't like whiskey. The jalapeno peach mule was very good - I liked the lil kick of spiciness; it keeps you on your toes! For small plates, we got the Lounge 31 sushi, wagyu beef tataki, and salmon sashimi. All of it was really good, and my favorite was the beef tataki! It was layered on top with some cheese, fried shallots, tomato, and jalapeno, and all of it came together to create a rich, savory taste. The meat was soft and juicy; I loved it! The salmon sashimi was soft and fresh. The Lounge 31 sushi was a typical Asian fusion style sushi - nothing to write home about, but still tasty! Overall, I recommend this place if you want to hang out and chill after work! PS - There is valet parking available in this area. Came here for a birthday brunch! Lounge 31 is apart of Bistro 31 but located upstairs. It's more chill and has a bar. Along with our lunch we got a bottle of Moët. Food: I had the lobster bolognese- good flavor, but I've had better pasta. My friend got the daily risotto and I liked her dish more! Congratulations to this place for taking the number one spot of worst service of all time. My friends & I weren't greeted for 20 mins after sitting down. It then took another 20 mins to get our drinks. We were still willing to stay as at this point we had memorized the entire food menu. When we got in front of Bistro 31 (they're both connected), the manager/owner(?) greeted us and told the bar was actually upstairs. He led the way and told us we could sit anywhere we wanted. On our way up, I had to take a picture of the outdoor patio because the decor was that beautiful. We came looking for this place based on a list of best bloody mary's in Dallas. When we asked the waitress, she said that the bar didn't serve it that way anymore but she'll see what they could do. We weren't expecting much, but it turned out to be a pretty good bloody mary! A quaint and hidden lounge on the upstairs part of Highland Park Village. There is a small SUSHI BAR which we did not eat from, but it wasn't as busy as expected, yet everything looked fresh. The LOUNGE is relatively large and the crowd is a range from 30 to 50's. Great for people watching and fun hang out with friends, a small group or even a large group; although, it is not overly crowded. A DJ comes around 10 o'clock on Saturdays to play house music. She knew the menu very well and helped us pick some delicious rolls and dessert. They have an amazing happy hour Monday-Saturday 4-7pm and all day Sunday (which happens to be my favorite day to visit.) they have 1/2 price rolls and discounted appetizers and desserts but my reason to go Sunday is for the $50 bottles of Moët (because Sunday isn't a Sunday without champagne). I was there on Sunday August 3rd for brunch. Most of the staff wore their masks around their chin & not on their faces. The DJ who performed didn't wear a mask at all. Currently the state of Texas has restaurants at 50% capacity. This was not the case at Lounge 31. Not only was the place packed, upon leaving their was a line of people waiting to get into the place. I think it's extremely irresponsible to but patrons at risk of catching COVID considering the cases in Dallas County are extremely high. This place was so cute. It was a bit hard to find since you have to go on the other side of Bistro 31 and then up the stairs. I loved the fact that they had music, which ultimately turned into a DJ, good service and good food and drinks. FYI - you can also order from the actual restaurant menu downstairs, you just have to ask. Otherwise, you'll only get the sushi menu for the lounge. As I work in the Highland Park area, I've been meaning to go to this place for a while but finally had the chance to drop by last week for lunch. First of all, we went in looking at the timing here that said it opens at 3:00pm but when we walked in, they weren't open until 4 o'clock. 2 words to describe Lounge 31: upscale & modern Came to Dallas for work, and found this restaurant on Yelp. It's located on the second floor in a shopping plaza (all high-end shops such as Chanel, Saint Laurent, and Tom Ford). Let me first say, I am slightly blind and didn't realize when I was walking into the restaurant that the first floor was Bistro 31. Our kind waiter informed us the lounge was upstairs and brought us through the back to get up their meanwhile it was down pouring. The lounge was dimly lit and had a nice ambiance. Now let's get to the food! As it is a lounge, the menu consists of cold/hot apps, raw bar, and several specialty sushi rolls. I was pleasantly surprised by all the unique sushi rolls and apps they had. From pulled pork sliders with an Asian twist to bacon tempura sushi rolls, everything was absolutely delicious and had a unique twist. The top 2 sushi rolls that you must try are the "lounge 31" and "hamachi tempura roll". Lounge 31 - perfectly crisp tempura bacon, crab, avocado, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and lemon. I don't know what it is but there's something about the zest of the lemon and the saltiness of the bacon that just works. Hamachi tempura roll - think jalapeño poppers but in a sushi roll! The deep fried roll includes pickled jalapeños, cream cheese, bonito flakes, yellowtail, and is wrapped with soy paper. Definitely a must try if you happen to be in the area and are looking for sushi that is out of the ordinary. Also, you can order off of the Bistro 31 menu even when you're at Lounge 31! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE A SHELLFISH ALLERGY! I notified my waitress of my shellfish allergy to ensure no cross contamination with my salmon roll & ended up in the ER with a life threatening reaction. The waitress assured me I would be fine and that there would be no problem. I would have preferred a simple "no," rather than what I went through. Now, you're lucky to get past the rude, discriminatory bouncer on a WEDNESDAY evening without a reservation. This is a lounge, afterall.
