Ordered the shrimp taco and grilled fish taco. Both seemed not fully cooked and the shrimp taco was coated in some sort of thick orange cheese sauce- it was gross but I was so hungry I ate it anyways. Also ordered chips and guac- they gave a whole bag of chips! Bonus points! But the guac was weirdly thin and had a strange taste- almost like they added the carne asada grease to give it flavor? I LOVE guacamole and I even stopped eating it because it was so strange! The whole reason I tried this place was because I wanted a cheap option that was healthier than my favorite battered 99 cent tacos from the gas station Mexican place up the street but I was severely disappointed. I feel like I should have just gone there and been satisfied with my meal. Another thing- it was kind of pricey. $8.49 for two taco Tuesday special tacos and chips and salsa. For two more dollars I could have gone to Las Olas and gotten a two taco plate with rice and beans and the waitress would have brought all the chips and salsa I wanted until I exploded! We came here Last sunday for lunch, we were very excited that a mexican food place from Escondido would open here, boy were we in for a big disappointment! Stay away!! ! is all I can say, i would not even classify this place as mexican food. We ordered carne asada burritos and they came out too fast and the meat was cold and soggy, eewww! Also the taste was very bland if any at all. We also ordered rolled tacos, and the guacamole had a guava after taste?! very gross and made my stomach hurt all day long. We ended up going here because Bull Taco was closed by the time we got there. I ordered a carne asada burrito and my husband ordered a combo with a chicken enchilada, both to go. We got home and I ended up with a pollo asada burrito and my husband had a cheese enchilada. 0 for 2 on the orders. We will not be going back. read more

My wife and I had the DISpleasure of visiting Lourdes, Cardiff, the night of Thursday, March 7th. I ordered the 24oz Pollo Caldo with everything in it and a flour tortilla. My wife had quesadilla on her mind but did not want Carne Asada nor Pollo. She asked the gal behind the counter if she could substitute Carnitas for Carne Asada and was rudely answered "We don't do that". My wife said she would gladly pay the difference in price and was told again "We don't do that". Flustered, my wife ordered a plain cheese quesadilla and was told she would have to pay the full price of a Carne Asada quesadilla, which was $6.50. How about that for customer service? To top it all off, the reciept didn't even have my order on it. We cancelled our order and, needless to say, we will NEVER attend a Lourdes establishment again. El Pueblo here we come! read more

Everything is good, but the Caldo de Pollo is what I come here for. Piping hot, wonderful shredded white meat chicken, avocado, cilantro, rice and onion. Super flavorful and extra yummy on a cold night. Comes with a huge, hot tortilla. The girls at the register are always pleasant and the atmosphere is Cardiff cool. read more

Solid Mexican food-probably the best (and complimentary) carrots. Of course they're known for their chicken soup which like their sister restaurant and original location, is awesome. My only complaint, is why why why is it served in a styrofoam bowl. Considering the health-environmental conscious people and location, this is a major "what are you thinking??" on the part of the owners. The original location uses real bowls and the cashier said they are going to use an alternative this summer- but not bowls...idk- we'll see... tried the veggie burrito, like the black beans. Chile relleno uses Pasilla peppers rather than the cheaper Anaheims- so that's always impressive and the carne was solid albeit a bit salty the day I tried them but nothing major. They use a great tortilla for their burritos and so all I all a solid Mexico food stop considering there's nothing like it except if you drive north into Encinitas mayhem or go South to Solana beach to Robertos. We stopped here on our way from OC to SD because it was recommended by some friends. It was fantastic! The best chicken soup I've ever had. My son's bean and cheese burrito was great. The tortillas tasted homemade, so they probably are. My husband said his fish burrito was excellent. And my other son's chicken tacos were delicious. I wish they would open up a location in OC by our house! What a great value! Great food at a great price! We are definitely going to stop there again next time we drive down to SD! read more

I love Mexican food and eat it often. I was born and raised in Cardiff and have eaten at every Mexican food joint in town. So when Lourdes opened I was excited to give it a try since I can walk there from my house. Verdict....Meh.... I've had better. Ordered the California burrito, got kind of ripped off on the carne and fries, it was mostly that mayo guacamole and sour cream. Kind of a small burrito for $6.50, but I can't blame them for charging too much, rent in Cardiff is anything but cheap. Still think El Torito market in Leucadia is the best burrito in town, its not only cheaper but so big that its very hard to finish. I guarantee its the best burrito you'll ever have. My gf had the chicken tortilla soup, kind of bland. Where was the cheese and sour cream? La Especial Norte is the best Tortilla Soup in town. The inside of the place has this awkward seating arrangement, your elbow to elbow with people. It would be nicer if there were a few tables outside. All in all, kind of expensive for take out Mexican and forgettable. If your in Cardiff make the drive to Leucadia if you want some better less expensive Mexican, and if your lazy Filiburtos and Robertos still have this place beat on price and taste. Bull Taco on the beach you'll also get your money's worth if you don't mind waiting in line forever. This place however is going to have to step it up if they think they can compete. read more

I've been trying all the taco shops around Encinitas and this is one of my favorites. The food is good and the interior is nice and clean with freshly painted walls and some lovely art on the walls. I can't imagine owning a restaurant , especially in north county San Diego but kudos to you guys for weathering the storm and the snobby people up here, raise your prices and don't sell your self short, I'm not the type to never come back cause my order was bad one time, I lost my appetite when I read the recent reviews , talk about 1st world problems, a yelp is a last resort not a first resort for me when it comes to an issue. When I moved to Encinitas everyone talked about some place down the road that made great tortilla soup. I wasn't very impressed so my neighbor asked, "Yeah, but have you tried the soup from Lourdes?!" And surprisingly, it was even closer to my house. After one visit I was hooked! I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food in California because it seems to be deep fried and lack soul. This soup is the exception.
