Decent sushi spot in popular town area. Restrooms: shared with LowBrau No wait as the restaurant is pretty empty (Saturday night) but you still need to write your name and wait to be called to be seated by patron (?) We were able to seat by LowBrau's outside seatings and get our foods delivered as it seems they're same owner establishments. Recommended: *Trio hand roll set. Be sure to ask them to cut half for you for easy bite. *miso ho-ney: made by Japanese whiskey to give aromatic flavor *Diplomatic Relations The place is able to split the bills without restrictions of how many people.

My friend and I came to Lou's last week for dinner. We had to wait quite a long time for a table; however, we absolutely expected that and they let us know when we put ourselves on the waitlist it would be awhile. The food is delicious! We had edamame and the nacho hand rolls. Both were very good. The edamame is cold which isn't how I usually eat it, but I still enjoyed it. The hand roll was really good. I just prefer a regular roll over a hand roll. They exclusively have hand rolls. Service was excellent besides the wait. We got our food quickly and our server was attentive with drinks and checking in on the table.

Recently got the opportunity to try this new/new to me restaurant with a friend. I had saw so much online chatter about the excitement that Lou's Sushi was back after being gone for so long and that it was a must have. It's located where Holy Spirits previously was right next to/connected to Lowbrau. The interior is dark, romantic, moody, and intimate. The inside was nicely decorated especially the car area. There's limited seating but there are tables and bar seating. We came on a Friday night and our party of two waited about an hour before being seated. Luckily we sat outside after getting a drink next door and passed time talking. The staff were super friendly and helpful in answering questions we had. The menu features all fresh options and some unique cocktails. The day we went they had a special sage infused cocktail that we didn't try but sounded delicious. My friend and I both ordered the nacho hand roll and edamame to share. I thought the hand roll was delicious, I really loved the spicy chili in it. This is definitely a nice spot for solo dinners or date night, I'm not sure it would be good for larger groups.

I went to Lou's with a friend to catch up and I can't say enough good things! We were both excited to come as people that used to go to the original location. It is now located on 20th street between J and K Street. Upon arrival was greeted by the host who also happened to be Lou's wife, I believe her name is Kristi, I apologize if I'm wrong! I made sure to let both her and Lou know how excited I was they were open again when they came by my table! I was treated to some edamame while I waited for my friend to show as well as a mocktail which was DELICIOUS and I appreciate that it was an actual crafted drink and not just juice and soda water! I'm not a huge fan of hand rolls but my goodness it was tasty! The special musubi was also delicious and my friend enjoyed her drink as well. I loved how cozy and chill it was in there and not overly loud! I appreciate the attentiveness of the staff, and I definitely wait to come back. I walked here so I can't speak on parking but it's midtown so suggest getting there a bit early to scope out a spot, always easier to go during the week as well!

Lou's is back! I can't tell you how often I've dreamed of the secret tofu since they closed. The new spot is great and the food is just as good as I remember, maybe even better! The secret tofu isn't on the menu but still available upon request. We love the secret shrimp too. The fish and rolls are great as are the cocktails. So thrilled to see this spot back in action!

Wasn't exactly sure what to expect with the location change, but I knew I'd love it anyways. Was a big fan of the original Lou's Sushi on P & 28th, Southpaw, and the Holy Rollers pop-up that eventually became Lou's Sushi 2.0. The menu was much closer to Holy Rollers than Southpaw or the original Lou's Sushi, but everything was just as delicious and the quality was just as impeccable as I remember. Oh how I missed Secret Tofu! Don't sleep on the Avo Salmon, Foil Steamed Mushrooms, Marinated Tuna Handroll, or Negi Hama handroll. Absolutely loved the Holy Shitake and Miso Ho-Ney cocktails as well.

Everything we ordered was fantastic and delicious, from the avo salmon to the hand roll set, all the way to the foil steamed mushrooms! We will be back!

Fantastic Spot To "Pregame" Shows @ Goldfields Next Door…read more SITREP We descended upon the Tack Room an hour before our show for "Ally The Piper" (both the classical AND heavy metal bagpiper extraordinaire) began her show! THE SETUP Goldfields is a charming, rustic country-western stylized saloon that serves up beer at good prices. But we weren't interested in beer and wanted quality cocktails. Hence, our pivot next door to the Tack Room! QUALITY COCKTAILS & DRINKS! The Tack Room specializes an amazing array of martinis, bourbons, and other deLISH cocktail drinks at really really reasonable prices! So this was an excellent choice to chill, thus avoiding the tremendous *noise pollution* we were immediately subjected to upon entering Goldfields an hour later for our show. THE LOWDOWN This is a quality bar with plenty of comfortable seating to relax and have quiet, intimate conversations. So if you and your later friend(s) want some privacy, cocktails at a reasonable price, etc., this is a good way to go.

It's themed around horse racing, but not in an overbearing or... tacky way. The mixologist was delightful and had great recommendations, the lights were dim, and the drinks were all on point. The highlight was the espresso martini, which is among the best I've had. It was reminiscent of the one I had at the Starbucks Roastery in NYC, which is high praise. The other coffee drink that surprised me was the Revolver. I always forget about what a good pairing orange and coffee is, and I'll be taking this one back home with me to try! Every other drink we tried was delicious in some unique way. The Pho drink was savory and surprising, the New York Sour was rich and flavorful, and the Practical Move was refreshing. Will definitely return here after dinner to sip an espresso martini for dessert!

Happy hour at Oaxaca = Amazing!…read more They had a great variety of margaritas and picking just one was difficult. I ended up getting the hibiscus margarita and it was so delicious! If they had a margarita flight, I would have gotten that! I guess I have to go back to try all the flavors instead. The chips and salsa were a must have. We tried the taco Al pastor and barbacoa. Both were so flavorful, delicious, and juicy! I will say the barbacoa was the winner of the two though! Their outdoor seating was spacious and comfortable. I want to say they specialize in mezcal cocktails? So if you're not a fan of mezcal, there is beer as an option. I came around 4pm so it was a bit empty but the staff was welcoming. Place was cleaned and very cute. There is also plenty of street parking available. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area and want a quick meal with a delicious cocktail!

As for the food: 1. The grilled shrimp were nice and firm and well grilled. Enjoyed them a lot 2. The hash brown fries were pretty unique and definitely a must get. It comes with a nice creamy sauce that you want to dip everything in. Only criticism is the prices. Didn't really order a lot of food with two appetizers, but I paid two main entree type prices for them. Were that great? Definitely! Just be aware up front if this is a factor.

This is my first classic martini (unlike lychee martinis I've had before at other places). My server asked how I like it, with olive juice or with lemon twist or another option I don't remember. To be honest I don't know how I like it because it's is my first classic martini. So I was honest with him. I said I'll do whatever you recommend because I wanted to try a classic martini cuz I've been watching Gossip Girl. I felt silly admitting I wanted a martini because of a tv show. But my server actually did his research and found that Blair (a main character in the show) likes her martini with a lemon twist. And that is the martini I got. He brought frozen glass and poured the drink on the spot. It was such a vibe and a great drink. For food I got the grilled prawns. This dish is delicious and goes so well with my martini! For my second drink I got the shiso fresh. I was debating between two drinks and asked my server for suggestions. He is absolutely right with this recommendation. Shiso fresh is refreshing and sweet but not too sweet. I loved it. Service is wonder and drinks are tasty. I can't wait to come back!

It was strong; however, I enjoyed the blend of vodka, milk, and cold brew coffee liqueur over a large cold brew ice cube. The chicken lumpia's were delicious, especially with the sweet chili dipping sauce. We ordered the ube pancakes to share as this is one of our favorites. It is too heavy to devour alone. I am so glad that I decided to try the hella loco as it consisted of all the proteins that I like....beef patty, bacon, spam, longanisa, and eggs. No complaints on this visit and I will be dinning in again in the near future.

Im a bit disappointed in the happy hour food…read more I've been here several times for their drinks, but something just didn't click in my most recent visit. I came here for happy hour and ordered a handful of their items. Chicken Lumpia - over all I was pleased with how piping hot, fresh out the fryer it was. A bit thin for my linking but I appreciated there were 6 pieces. The sauce did not pair well. There was something off about it that isn't your typical sweet and sour; maybe the sauce was made in house. Sisig fries - decent portion of fries but fell short on the pork. Lacked an egg and didn't really meet the sisig flavors that I'm used to. You can definitely taste the zestiness of the lemon - nice touch, but other than that it's just fries with pork, red onion and green onion garnish. Hot dog - a $9 happy hour hot dog was the biggest disappointment. Sure the bread texture was good, toasted with a nice chew, but that was it. The dog itself was charged to my linking but it really didn't feel worth the money spent for its portion. Fries - 100% would get again. Cauliflower bites - I liked this too, flavor was good but such a small portion our table has to order two. Similar to the hotdog, not sure if it's worth the spend for the portion size. Despite the food not satisfying my cravings, the service was great. The young lady was helpful and was working hard taking orders, making drinks and delivering the food. The place was pretty busy at least the indoor area. Plenty of seating outside, but in this heat not sure if it's a good idea. Didn't see any misters but would be a nice touch to draw in more folks. Side note: some of the cocktails are premade, and can be overly sweet.
