Absolutely amazing!! I ordered a carryout thru a delivery service for my first try. I live quite a distance away and every thing arrived fresh and hot. It was packaged well and they adhered to all of my requests. The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly. My fries got a little soggy because I didn't let them "air out" right away, but the flavor was great. They have a HUGE menu, way more than just burgers and fries, too! Super helpful for families with picky eaters. Also tried the chicken pita- nice large tender pieces; the chili dog- classic Detroit style coney & delicious; and the broccoli bites- YUM. Me and my boyfriend got a carry out here for the first time today. I got the Lov-a Pita and onion chips and my boyfriend got the Nacho Burger and cajun sweet potato fries, we also got two milkshakes. Our bill came out to almost $50 ($46.75). Usually anytime we go out to eat our bill is never over $30 and based off the reviews we thought they were relatively cheaper here. The food was alright. It was very fresh i cannot complain about freshness at all but my food was blah and definitely didn't entail a $50 bill. The food is fresh and good but i just think a bit overpriced. read more

I noticed this new restaurant set back in a little strip mall on the east side of Gratiot just south of Cotton Road. Besides their Lov-a Salad at $7.49, two breakfast skillets and an omelette offered at $6.99, nothing else on their menu is over $5.99. This is a small restaurant, but the service is excellent. I ordered a mushroom -n- swiss burger, deluxe with fries and drink. The burger was obviously hand-patted and well made, the fries were good, and a fountain drink came along with the meal. The chef provided excellent service, making genuine inquiries about the food a couple times during my meal. Not at all overbearing. Right next to Sassy Nails & Spa, I'll have to keep that in mind next time my sassy nails need some attention. ;-) read more

My boyfriend and I stopped at Lov-a Burger last week after hearing great things about it! Was really looking forward to having a new burger place in the area! We walked in and we're greeted immediately! That seems to never happen that often anymore. The menu is posted to your right when you walk in, above the grills. The confusing part is we didn't know whether to order there or at a table. But the cook told us to order where we walked in. We each ordered a burger and we split a frie, and a drink. There was a sign on the window for a lunch special for a burger and fire for $5. We came in for lunch and we didn't get charged for that. You can pick from the toppings and most are free of charge. I picked lettuce, BBQ, cheese and mayo. I'm a simple person. There is about 7 tables to sit at, with a TV and radio on to enjoy as well. Food was made fresh and made to order. My burger also had onions, tomatoes and pickles on it. I guess that comes standard? Not sure. It was on the toppings list and i didn't include those items because I am allergic to all of them. No big deal, I just picked them off. Burger was fresh and juicy and kudos for making it not overcooked and not undercooked. I'm stomach is very sensitive when it comes to beef. The bun was toasted and often broke with each bite I took. Little messy but it is a burger after all! Fries were tasty. Could definitely tell that the oil in the fryers was fresh. Homemade rice pudding was top notch and plenty to go around. Glad there was an option for cinnamon on top or not- even though you can't go wrong with topped cinnamon! Really Small like TINY and located at the end of a strip mall - so just don't blink because you will drive right by it. BUT when you do find the building - go on inside the food is great and it is fresh you can actually tell someone at that grill is taking pride in there work. This is a small family run place that you guessed it...specializes in burgers. We had their classic burger and the patty melt and both were outstanding. We also split a small Greek Salad that was very tasty. The classic burger came with fries and they were nice and crispy. We got all this food and a diet Pepsi for less than $20. Manager lied in a response to a GrubHub review I posted about this, claiming that the spider originated at my property because I requested the food be left outside, even though the plastic bag it came in was tightly knotted shut (as they usually are). Apparently dead insects can not only move, but move through non-permeable materials. At no point was I offered a refund, or any kind of recompense. This is by far the worst experience I have ever experienced. I placed a DoorDash order February 4 at 8:25pm. They accepted the order, accepted the payment but, never made my food. They closed at 9pm but, there DoorDash says 10pm. Instead of canceling my order and giving me the option of looking somewhere else, they basically "stole" my money. I got the Mushroom Swiss burger and my husband ordered the Volcano. Both were very fresh and tasted delicious. We also ordered onion rings and a chocolate caramel shake which also was delicious. Man, I love a good burger and french fries! I had the Mushroom Swiss burger it was cooked perfectly. No bun because I'm gluten free. But you should know they do offer a gluten-free bun. The gentleman who took my order, ( I think he was the owner and was also the cook) was so nice and helpful. He also said their fries are hand cut and cooked in house, so definitely gluten free. Note, there probably is cross contamination with the fry oil, like ebery other place. Both the burger and.fries were absolutely delicious!!! The milkshakes looked wonderful, but I didn't have one, ( trying to be somewhat good). Next time I'm taking hubby, he can get the shake, I can have a sip. Works for us! The place was VERY clean, the service was very friendly, and fast. I just don't know why it wasn't busier when I visited. I will say, it was an early dinner.
