Had brunch today at Love at First Bite and service was terribly slow. They were out of Bourbon for drinks also out of ranch dressing. I am guessing they also ran out of actual silverware because they gave us plastic wrapped utensils. The burger was good but very thin. Not to mention the uncomfortable lobby and waiting area is literally a wooden church peer. The food was average at best and overpriced. I was charged a Mandatory tip of 18%, after already leaving a tip on the table, prompted by the waiter because restaurant keeps the tips from the servers. Let me start off by saying the restaurant is a very cute spot. The decor and ambience is nice. The servers were nice and professional. My issue was my food and the way me and my friend was treated. I ordered the potato skillet.. It comes with potatoes, onions, eggs, and your choice of meat. When the skillet was brought to me...the food was burnt to the point the sausage was burnt crumbs. I told the waitress who was very apologetic and offered to bring me something else. I didn't want anything else and I told her it was OK. The issue I have is with the chef. She came out and went to everyone's table to ask how was the food. She even sat at the table with some customers. She never once came to our table to apologize or even ask my friend (who loved her food by the way) how was her food. I know that sometimes people make mistakes but to not come to the table just to apologize would have made a difference. I won't be back but I wish the restaurant much success. read more

When I walked in the building I was confused on where to go, directions need to be clear on where to go . Got in , we got seated , my girlfriend ordered a drink that was a 6/10 , it was watered down than anything . We started off with an appetizer of wings , the flavor was definitely there , they were very tiny , I feel like they should go searching for a new chicken vendor they were about the size of my pinky finger , maybe smaller and my fingers are pretty small. Me and my girlfriend both got the cinnamon roll chicken sandwich , it was definitely overrated how the way the server was explaining it to us. The portion was very small. It's not a real cinnamon roll it's actually a waffle with cinnamon taste with glaze . I would not recommend that dish nor anything in there . We left unhappy and not full . Also not to mention I bit into a uncooked potato and the potatoes had no taste or seasoning to them I had to drown it with ketchup to get some sort of taste . My family and I visited the restaurant to celebrate our daughter's birthday. It has a nice quaint, cultured and serene environment. Our waiter, Quann, was personable, attentive and very transparent as he shared his perceptions of the menu. When my son ordered a particular alcoholic beverage, he gave an honest opinion about the drink. The menu was pleasingly diverse, so it took us longer than usual to make our individual choices. He took our orders and entrees were soon delivered. Everyone was pleased with the chicken appetizer, shrimp and grits, pancakes, veggie sausage, and the breakfast taco's. From the roota to the toota, everything is good ok. The ambiance, decor, upscale vibe, laid back energy and they are running the beats! I had the smoked salmon on a toasted crostini, pancakes, strawberry/blueberry mimosa AND shrimp with grits. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Let me take you all through the night. I got to the restaurant around 6:30 p.m. and was put on hold for table of 5, understandably because the rest of my party wasn't there yet. My friends get there around 7:05-7:06 p.m. and we are seated around 7:10 p.m. First of all there are only 2 waitresses, and a host who seemed to be jack of all trades because she was doing a mix of everything. The place is not that big so I didn't think at the time that wasn't enough staff. It's about 7:25 p.m. now lmk and no one has even cato greet us. Mind you people seated AFTER us have waters on their table. Cool... we ask the host for a drink menu, but I guess she was too busy trying to make the restaurant look lit for social media, because all she kept doing was recording. Finally we see her tell one waitress to attend to us. Obviously though, we must have put on our invisible cloaks because apparently she couldn't be bothered to talk to us till about 10 mins later. What were her first words to us paying customers? "Y'all ready to order?" We responded oh we asked for a drink menu, she then uses her index finger to point at the menu offering, 3 opening of beverages which all included beer. We stare at her blankly, because surely this is not the full menu... then she's like " I mean we got everything you just have to tell me what you want" cool, we place an order for 2 hookahs. She didn't even ask me what flavor, so I ask what flavors do you guys have... she ofc doesn't know. She goes to call the hookah girl, who by the way is the second waitress. Hookah girl comes over and is very sweet, takes our order. Our waitress is GONE with the wind never to be seen again. Now y'all about 20 mins after we came in, Mr. Vibes in Atl came in, coincidentally we got the idea to come here from his page. Do y'all know in less than 15 minutes, he got his hookah, his drinks, and his tacos... might I add the food was being served on parchment paper on top of Dixie disposable plates. A young man comes and tells us one of the handhelds pls systems were down and takes our order, he was sweet (at that time) we believed that we were about to see a change in service. WRONG. Any ways it's about 7:45-7:50 ish. No hookah in sight not even a drink. We ask the girl she says oh one is ready but the second one is not working, when someone is done with theirs she'll wash it out and bring it to us. That means they have about 4-5 hookah in rotation for this establishment??? Interesting. Minutes later we see her bringing a hookah, we're excited because surely this is ours, WRONG, again. Now we're ready to go. It's 8:04 p.m. and I'm getting a strawberry margarita that I ordered at 7:30?????? We talked to the young man who was the supposed manager, when I tell you guys not ONE apology was uttered! He told us Mr. Vibes placed his order over the phone before he came, does that even make sense????? They were unapologetic, unsympathetic, and just plain rude. I advice y'all to rethink coming here on Tuesdays, especially with a party of more than 2. I wish that black businesses would take customer service seriously. I thought the food here was pretty good! I ordered the breakfast tacos and a lemon drop. The tacos were definitely good, but I wasn't blown away. The lemon drop was tasty but not very strong. My friend got the fried chicken breakfast sandwich and the Espresso Martini. She really enjoyed her food! The food was definitely the best part of the experience. The customer service could use some work. The hostess was rude and the waiters were inattentive and disorganized. They were clearly understaffed, so I understand. Never again.! Went here on Tuesday they promoted they were having taco Tuesday. Got seated immediately but instantly noticed how loud the music was in such a small space and it seemed like there was a lack of structure when it came to servers. 3 different people came up to me asking how could they assist and they said everyone would be helping wait my table. I needed a few minutes to look over the menu and while doing so the table behind me was complaining about hair in their food. For some reason I still wanted to give the restaurant a chance but my boyfriend was ready to go. About 10 minutes went by my date and I put in a order of Asata fries to share and we were just going to head out. I promise you maybe after sitting there for 20 minutes a man who said he was the manager said there was a family emergency and the restaurant would be closing early, sorry for the inconvenience. It was the weirdest thing I ever experienced being i was a first time customer, actually excited to support this place the way everything was handled was distasteful. Cute place, but service is VERY slow and disconnected. Should be far better given they automatically add an 18% service charge to all checks, no matter the party size. I'm always leery and attuned to sub-par performance when restaurants do this. I usually tip 20% and always expect a reasonably good experience. So, for it to be a bad experience service-wise, I was frustrated. I mean, it was enough that two a-la-carte, basic pancakes ran me $15. When they didn't bring any syrup with them, compounded by it being impossible to waive anyone down to bring me some, I was over the hype of this place on my first visit. I had to walk back to the service door and make the request from the woman who took our order (who didn't even remember where I was seated after I pointed to my table in this bite-sized establishment). In fact, no one came back to the table to check on us at all to confirm that we were good, which is standard protocol a few minutes after food is served in a restaurant. One woman at another table resorted to yelling "excuse me" because she couldn't get any staff's attention. Again, it's a small place, so everyone stopped and stared at that moment. But, I honestly couldn't blame her for being fed up with being ignored by the service team she'd be mandated to tip 18%. We also practically had to beg to pay out and leave. Sat for an extra half hour waiting on them to bring a card reader as a long line was forming at the door. This place needs an operational and ethical facelift. They ought to invest in self-pay devices/app, like Chili's, and a receipt check at the door, like Walmart, i.e., if they are going to disappear entirely after bringing your food, condiments be damned. And, I say ethical because unless you read the fine print on the menu, they aren't forthcoming that a "service charge" (read: TIP) is already added and they don't even proactively show you an itemized bill. Fortunately, I'd been warned about the fee and was prepared. I was not prepared for mediocre food and service overall. They really need to do better if they expect to sustain themselves! Atlantans have options. I'm only giving two stars (instead of one) because the salmon appetizer was actually decent. read more

I was excited to see a restaurant open in my neighborhood. The area is pretty devoid of nice restaurants and bars so Love at First Bite was a welcome sight. Lets start with the GOOD: I've had the Deviled Eggs, the Salmon Bruschetta Toast. Shrimp and Grits, Breakfast Skillet and pancakes. All very good. Service when ordering was good. Food comes out in a timely manner. Now for the BAD: The checkout process is downright CRIMINAL. I've been here a few times. The first time they brought me the handheld checkout machine, I didn't see an itemized bill but was told the amount. I asked if the tip was included and got an unintelligible answer (which I attributed to my own fault ). So I give them my card and they handed me the machine which was already on the TIP screen. I proceeded to tip. My friend alerted me to the fact that tip was included because she saw it in fine print on the menu. Again, I said ok my fault so I didn't complain even though I tipped 40 bucks... So I go again with a couple of girlfriends. I told them what happened to me before. So at the end of the meal, the guy comes over with the handheld machine. He tells one of my girlfriends how much her meal was, she hands him her card, he hands back the machine with the TIP screen displayed. She asks "is the tip included", he flat out told her NO. I was preoccupied with my other friend so I didn't hear the exchange. so he comes to me, tells me my amount. I hand him my card, he hands the machine back with the TIP screen displayed, I hit the "skip" button. So my friend that paid said, I thought you told me the tip wasn't included. He says and I quote "there's a service charge".... Uhm dude that IS THE TIP! SO since she didn't say "Service Charge" he said no to the question about the tip?? A flat out LIE! I hate this because I try to support black businesses but this is downright CRIMINAL. So my last friend pays and asks to see the itemized bill to make sure everything was ok, which it was and she did not add additional tip. I won't be back. So go at your own risk but be WARNED to look at your bill carefully. I doubt the owner knows that her staff is tarnishing the brand. read more

Saw this spot on Instagram and figured let me give it a try. I telephoned the restaurant prior to driving 40 mins and was told be the restaurant that they close at 4p.. I asked specifically if I arrive at 3:45p would I Still be seated and I was told yes. I drove over 40 mins in Atlanta traffic and arrived 3:35 ten minutes ahead of my anticipated arrival and was informed that they WERE NOT taking anymore guest. Immediately I informed the host that I had previously called and asked prior to driving here on my approximate arrival. The host still refused to allow me to dine in and explore the dining experience. Disappointed but I returned the following day at approx. 3:20hrs and again was told they were closed for the day and would not be sitting anyone else. I then requested to speak to the manager on duty. After waiting over 20 mins, I was approached by an employee who informed me that they had a large turn out today and could not accommodate me. Finally after several more mins of requesting to dine in after all the inconveniences I was allowed to dine in and rushed to place an order from a menu with several items not available for purchase. The food took longer than normal to come out and it was just okay. BTW the manager never came out to address my concerns and I would not be returning to this place of business for several reasons but customer service is the main reason. read more
