So unfortunately I have to give these guys such a poor review due to one reason, and that's day old donuts. I love the donuts here, they are so yummy but, when you are paying a premium price for donuts you want fresh donuts not ones that were made the day before! The last few times I've been here my Roomate has ended up with at least one of her donuts being at least a day old. She likes some of the more old fashioned donuts, meaning donuts that probably aren't their biggest sellers. But, if you are going to offer them they should be fresh, if not you shouldn't be selling them for the same price as the fresh ones. The last time I went here I got 1 dozen donuts and it cost me $19 and some change. The ones that have been day old are the old fashioned, the raspberry cheesecake, cinnamon roll (which costs even more!). So if you are going to sell day old donuts, you should let the customers know. Had I known we would have picked something fresh. Or offer them at a discount if you don't want to write them off as a complete loss. read more

Love Bugs Bakery has just okay cupcakes. The frosting wasn't made with the rich buttercream that they should have at bakeries. The food dye in the frosting made the miniature cakes even less appetizing. I may venture back to try the donuts, but for a bakery, your cakes should special and they just weren't. read more

I'm a fan of fresh baked food and I'm definitely a fan of this place! I usually go pretty late in the day and expect the pastries not to taste as fresh, but was I wrong. It seems like no matter what the time of the day, the cakes and pastries are good. I also tried out a mocha frappuccino. Fraps I've had at other places tend to be overpowered with sugar and sweet flavor. That was not the case here, I could actually taste the coffee flavor. Before I left, I grabbed a bag of their yeast rolls. I was surprised how soft they still were the evening after. They also make fresh deli sandwiches. First, let me say thanks to management. Donuts and biscuits and gravy are bad for me, so your actions keeping me from ordering them in the future (at least from you) should keep me healthier. As a repeat customer that has given them a lot of my money and recommendations, this review isn't about the quality of their products overall, which are great. Once they started offering biscuits and gravy, I was excited and ordered a large portion. And it was very large. They offered half-portions, which was still plenty for a serving. So I started ordering the half-portion. Whenever the owner/manager would take my order, he would always try to up-sell me. No problem, I'm in business, I get it. But he is very aggressive. To the point I started pre-empting him by saying no, I don't want the full, just the half in a joking way so I didn't have to get pressured into always buying more. So he suggested ordering the full and he would split it into two orders. That way I save money and he gets to sell more. Win - win. So I started doing this going forward. I would also often order donuts there as well. Apparently at some point he decided that was a mistake, because he would fill the order but it started seeming like he was doing me a favor or he just wasn't happy to have my business. Note: I would also tip 20% on the pickup order because I appreciated the service of his team, which is consistently friendly other than him. Today I guess he had enough of splitting it up. He sent out one of his staff who said instead of charging me for two half orders, they would only charge me for the full, but would charge me 50 cents for the carton. When I mentioned they had never done that before, the staff person basically relayed to me he was told to do it because it was costing (the owner/manager) extra money to split it. Now, I get it isn't much of a charge, and if they no longer wanted to provide the split, then okay. However, when I got to the office and opened the order, it was a significantly smaller portion in each. Combined, about the size of what had previously been a half order. This clearly tells me they just no longer want my business and don't value me as a customer. So, okay, Dunkin Donuts is a couple blocks away. Their donuts aren't as good, but at least I don't have to feel like a jackass when I want some empty calories for breakfast. read more

I have tried all on the others cronuts around. In restaurants, bakeries, and even Dunkin Donuts have attempted to recreate the cronut made famous by the Dominique Ansel Bakery in Manhattan. I read a very interesting review in Florida Today and I thought I should give Love Bugs a try. I am glad I did. Though different from the original their version of the cronut is fantastic. Fresh, flaky, soft, and tasty. Perfect with coffee. My only criticism would be that there is just a bit too much glaze and its a bit to sweet. Other than that I am very impressed. read more

Great donuts! Nice variety of muffins, bagels, and donuts. We tried the cherry cake donut, eclairs, and red velvet cake donut with cream cheese frosting. We also bought a couple of their Halloween sugar cookies. Everything was delicious! They have a large variety to try, and I believe they also have samples. Used to love coming here before they changed management. The PB&J donut used to be my absolute favorite. It was light, airy, filled with raspberry jam, and had a generous PB frosted coating. Since then, the donuts have been so thick and dense and bit too sweet. The PB&J donut now has barely any PB frosting, dense batter, and an overfill of jam. The chocolate covered strawberry donut has such a sweet filling it was sickening. The breakfast sandwiches are always great, though. Cupcakes are huge and flavorful as well, but the cake itself can be dry depending what flavor you get. All in all, it's better than DD, but still not the best donut shop. read more

We stopped in on a trip up north to an even with our kids and are so thankful that we did! Donuts were heavenly and amazing! I think we had one of every kind! Our kids loved the Love Bug and the Coconut Cream was a piece of heaven. Wish we could have tried them all!!! Sandwiches were good and very hot! A little light on the meat but we are from New Jersey so the expectations are high in that area and just order a double meat now. I would suggest if you are close or even far away to give this place a try. I stopped by Love Bugs Donuts a few weeks ago to enjoy some post diet treats. I arrived first thing in the morning and the bakery smelled amazing! The donut selection is really good and the donuts taste amazing. My favorite was the love bug donut a yeast donut (brownie batter filled), the orange creamsicle (cake donut), and the banana cream donut a yeast donut (filled with banana pudding). I got almost one of everything but these were my top picks. In addition to great donuts the customer service was excellent. I had a million questions and the owner took the time to answer them all as if I was the only customer. He also decided to let me sample two of his donuts because I couldn't make a decision and he didn't even charge me for it...this is what made my experience an easy 5 Stars. After several poor experiences here with various owners and their staff, enough is enough. My son recently had a birthday, and he really wanted to bring these donuts into his class to share with his classmates. I hesitated, because of prior experiences that were negative, but because that's what he wanted, I agreed to it. I called several days before his birthday and placed an order for 2 1/2 dozen donuts and paid almost $45! We picked the donuts up on his birthday, and he took them to school. Unfortunately, half the order was made incorrectly, which was very disappointing to my son. The other half was just plain glazed donuts, and they were almost inedible. The glaze was falling off in big pieces, leaving nothing sweet on the donut. They were dry and tough, and most of the kids threw them out. My son was embarrassed and extremely disappointed. I was very frustrated because I spent a lot of money on a "gourmet" donut that we certainly did not get. I drove over to the bakery a few days later, and experienced somebody quite rude. She told me that I was making a scene which was completely not true, I was very frustrated and was expressing this (to which she argued about my experience and struggled to even apologize). She told me the owner would call me on the following Monday, that was a month ago, and needless to say nobody followed up. I will never use this bakery again, and encourage you to find someplace else to buy "gourmet" donuts. read more

Love Bugs is dangerous. Dangerous to your hunger, to your wallet and to your waistline, that is. This bakery is a MUST treat for anyone looking for: fresh bread, fresh donuts, fresh cupcakes, cookies, croissants and more. A brightly lit, clean facility with helpful and friendly staff. I've been reading some of the reviews here about their cupcakes being either too bland, not very good, or not using buttercream icing, to which I say: what are you smoking??? One of my FAVES is the cupcakes, which are huge, super moist. The icing I've had on all of them are obviously butter/butter cream frosting instead of that whipped cream/light fluff you usually get at grocery stores and other bakeries trying to cut corners. They sell sandwiches there, as well, using Boar's head meat and let me tell you, they were also tastegasmic. They seem small (shorter buns: think six inch subs), but they pack them full with SO MUCH MEAT AND TOPPINGS that they are difficult to eat but oh-so-so-so-good. The bread, I believe, is made right in store as well, so you can't get any fresher than that! One of my favorites that we took home was from their "bargain," shelf of day-olds (which amuses me, because it tasted ANYTHING but old) garlic bread with real, obvious chunks of garlic clove in it. It was so soft when I brought it home I had huge difficulties cutting it and so my husband and I just pulled it apart with our hands. We didn't. Even. Need. Butter. It was that good. For us, it's a *bit* pricey. But as the old adage goes, "you get what you pay for," and what you're paying for at Love Bugs is obvious quality. I visited early on a Saturday morning, and like reviews has warned there was already a line! The line moved fairly quickly, I could tell there where a lot of locals/regulars in the line since they were just calling out the names of donuts like they were old friends. I, however, was a bit confused and a lost lamb. The girl that helped me kinda rushed me and didn't really explain what was what. I understand theres a line, but it would've been nice if she just added a bit more customer service and a smile or two. Maybe she was having a bad morning. So I'm currently in Florida for my boyfriend's birthday and wanted to get him some cupcakes for the occasion. Since I'm not a local, I didn't really know any good bakeries in the area. Luckily for me, I have Yelp, so I stumbled on to Love Bug! I got 4 of their cupcakes: Carrot, German Chocolate, White, and Red Velvet (which came out to about $8-9, and also I want to note that they don't accept card for any order under $5). My favorite was the Carrot, but that's really because I'm such a sucker for carrot cake. They were all very delicious and don't have that sickly sweet taste that cupcakes from grocery stores have.
