I Went in for a 1/2 dz of donuts and I wasn't gonna get coffee but decided to go for it, instead of making another stop on the way home. I order vanilla ice coffee and the lady proceeded to charge me for a blended frappachino(5.99). I said that's not what I ordered. She changed it ($5.87) I said for Ice coffee?? I was shocked. (I shouldn't be these days)but I don't appreciate being over charged and the worst part was that they literally made up the price in front of me. I asked the other man, he said he didn't know the price. Weird! If I wanted an almost $6 ice coffee I could have gone to Starbucks, across the street. The coffee was tasteless water and she claim it was more bc she used two shots of espresso. It really makes it hard to support smaller business. I'm really bummed. I was the only customer there and it was as though they were too busy to take my order, and harder to get the order correct. dude the ladies so rude to you if your 19+ under, I completely understand that teenagers from king high-school come and crowd the area but that doesnt mean you have to be a straight up dick to everyone that looks young man. its just this one lady with blonde hair, I just came in asked for the price of 2 items and she shouted price is right there, and I just wanted some time to look at the options but it was like the lady was just rushing me and annoyed by me when all I asked for was a price of a food item they had. I don't really like to be on bad terms with anyone so I complimented the food and I asked how her day was going, she completely ignored me and I asked again and she just looked at me and looked away. Honestly made me feel so awkward. Once I paid I thanked her then I told her to have a good day. her response was "Close my door". Man honestly turned my whole day upside down. Great donuts. Usually get a dozen for about $16 from a nice older woman. On my last visit I stayed in the car and let my two older children order and pay. I handed them a $20 bill, my son came out and said they needed $2 more. I was shocked, $22 for a dozen donuts?? I went inside to give the rest of the cash and the younger, different woman, at the counter was surprised to see me. I asked her what was different and joked are they "special" donuts and she said "yes the jelly filled are special so they are more". That's really odd I've never been charged more for jelly in the past 7 years that I've been going there. Recently, my eldest participated in a middle school band review at nearby Martin Luther King Jr. high school. With plenty of time to kill between their five minute marching, and the hours later awards ceremony in the high school stadium, I ventured out into the neighborhood in search of snacks and drinks for my kid and his buddies in the band. One of the first places I saw was This little donut shop, nestled into a corner mini strip mall of sorts. With a sandwich store and a Mexican restaurant for neighbors, I couldn't help but wonder if that cuts into their business; luckily, it seems the sandwich place did not open until 11 AM, and most donut stores don't dabble in tacos Y burritos... Upon entering the donut shop, I noticed a well stocked case, even at 9:30 AM on a weekend, and the usual pastries and sandwiches and lotto tickets and cold case of juices and milks. I ordered up a dozen, and paid the $13.99 price tag. The donuts were fresh and tasty, including the extra Apple fritter I "accidentally" ordered to make it a bakers dozen. They make the most unique donuts I've seen. But not just that they're so airy and fresh. They are also so friendly there. Eager to serve. They always go above and beyond. They even have some little Asian stuff like baos and glass noodles. It's all good. Sometimes I'll buy out the glass noodles cuz they're just that good but they do go like hot cakes. What sets this store apart from the others is the quality of their donuts. My first visit here was at 4 PM and the donuts were still amazingly soft as if they were just finished recently(come in the morning, even better). As you take a bite into their glaze rings, you'll notice a very subtle vanilla taste that enhances the experience paired with the incredible softness. So one of my fave doughnut shops is under new management. Will it be better or will all the donuts start going downhill? Unless I walk into a donut shop and the case is full of flies or critters it's more than likely a four star establishment to me. Now one would ask, why so generously hand out stars to a doughnut shop? I'll tell you why, IT'S DONUTS for goodness sakes. This is practically one of the worst fast food for human consumption, but it's so sweet, tasty and the temptation is hard to resist. Is it doughnuts or donuts? Why the two different ways of spelling it. I know I can google it but I'll leave that up to you. Now as far as this establishment goes, the service, cleanliness and presentation is all on point. What could possibly go wrong here if you come in for a cup of coffee and a donut? They have ice cream too by the way. Many doughnut shops don't have ice cream. Love Donuts Cafe serves ice cream! Oh yeah! Research my reviews and you'll find that I've had donuts that were completely off the hook. I five star those places. But I've also been to a few where I couldn't get out the door fast enough. Donuts aka doughnuts, for the most part, "it is what it is". Love Donuts Cafe is four star goodness to me. I'm not unsympathetic to immigrants or language difficulties, but if you're going to run a business that is customer-service oriented, try to have someone in the store that can understand basic customer requests and limit your menu to the things you can actually do at a level that will meet customer expectations. The (presumably owners) are an older immigrant couple and I agree they are very nice and try very hard to give excellent customer service. However, I think they would be better off to just take bagels off their menu. The bagel sandwiches they serve, maybe, but the problem here is that their menu offers "dozen bagels" as an item. I figured to mix things up for the group I was buying for, I'd pick up a dozen donuts and a dozen bagels. About 10 minutes into the process, I realized my mistake, but by then, it was too late. I'd already spent 10 minutes trying to navigate the language barrier enough to communicate that I wanted a dozen bagels and a tub of cream cheese (though the tub concept never sank in, more on this later). Instead of fresh-made bagels like one would expect from a shop that has bagels by the dozen on their sign, the lady starts opening bag after bag of mass-produced store-bought bagels to create my assortment. Then she jams them into the only size box they have (or at least the largest one), which is sufficient for a dozen donuts, but woefully inadequate to the task at hand. The cream cheese communication debacle eventually devolves into a phone call to a third party who speaks English and their language (best guess Vietnamese). I explain what I want and pass the phone back to the man behind the counter (presumably the other owner). He talks with the third party briefly and then his eyes light up in understanding and I think "OK, we've got this.". Nope... 12 individually wrapped packets of cream cheese materialize from a refrigerator behind the counter at $0.75 each and at this point, my frustration level is so high that I just accept my fate and treat it as a lesson learned. A full 25 minutes after starting this process, I'm back on the road with a dozen mediocre donuts, a dozen very sub-par bagels, and the 12 individually wrapped foil tubes of cream cheese. The price overall wasn't terrible, but it was on the very high side for what I got. If the couple hadn't been trying so hard and so nice, this would have been a 1-star review. read more

By far the best tasting donuts I've had in a very long time. So soft and have such an amazing taste. The dough is really so fluffy and chewy I can't say enough about this place. I ate donuts that were days old from this place (that I stored from home) and they were still better than donuts I've had from some pretty famous places elsewhere. A must try. I seriously don't think we give enough love to this awesome cafe. Every time we come, the owners and workers are always so nice. And our family and I believe- they have the best donuts hands down!!!
