There are 3 things that will destroy your home: water, fire and termites. I've been "lucky" to deal with that first one during most of 2021 when I found out our master bedroom shower was leaking, twice. And by twice I mean it was leaking a 2nd time after it was rebuilt to correct the first leak. Oh my, how little did I know...shower construction is extremely unforgiving to mistakes. How many mistakes? You'll have to read the 470 page TCNA handbook to find out. But seriously, too many folks who claim to know how to build showers actually don't. And eventually, their work will fail, and it will cost you... The other annoyance is too many contractors around here still use a toxic, outdated method for waterproofing called "hot mop". If you're occupying your home during construction, you do *not* want to use this method. After much research, I finally came across this business which uses a modern waterproofing method called Schluter. Jason and his team are the real deal - top notch pros in a sea of mediocrity. They built us a beautiful, waterproofed shower and showed up on time every day until the job was complete. You may pay a bit more, but it'll save you a lot of headache and money down the road. First of all he showed on time and finished in time, very professional and knowledgeable when it comes to floor treatment, cleaning solution and maintenance, etc. He used special Italian machine to deep clean then German buffer for more cleaning. I was a bit skeptical before the work, "cleaning with water?", but dried so quickly and Jason's thorough and neat work was very appreciated. How fortunate we were to have found that very one in Jason Ramsey (and crew) of California Flooring Service. He lived up to it and more ! I'd agreed w/ my better half that we'd completely change our two story, approx. 3,000 sq. ft. home from being largely carpeted to hardwood flooring as per her wishes. With due diligence in mind, I came across Calif Fl. Jason and his team did an excellent job. I had most of my home re-floored with (mainly) hardwood and (a little bit of) porcelain tile. I bid my project out to five vendors and Jason came in with the second lowest initial bid. I have to assume Jason tries to be fair with his initial bid because while I was able to get the other three vendors to bid down, they were only willing to go slightly lower than Jason's initial bid. Jason then met the pricing of another five-star vendor I had bidding, but because he had came in with a fair bid right off the bat, and because he also has excellent reviews, I stuck with him. Jason was on-site for a fair bit of the project and was happy to talk through any part of the process for as long as I wanted to. There didn't seem to be anything that he wasn't very well versed on (which wasn't the case for some of the other vendors I spoke with). When Jason wasn't on-site, the gentleman who managed the team was very friendly and also seemed like a real pro. The only criticism I have of the team is that cleanup could have been a bit better. Because they cut the tile outside, there are little bits that fly around. Quite a few of those were left once the job was finished. That being said, Jason was very responsive to a number of other small things that popped up, so I assume he would have had the issue taken care of if I brought it to his attention, but my wife swept them up before that could happen. Still easily a five star experience working with Jason, and I have already recommended him to multiple other people. read more

We hired California Flooring for a remodel, replacing tile, carpet, and existing hardwood with new hardwoods, in a two story house. This was a large job, given the square footage and amount of tile in the downstairs kitchen and family room. Jason and his crew were efficient and professional. They were extremely accommodating to some other work we were having done at the time, working around our schedule and picking up right where they left off. Given the complexity of the stairs, along with a few change orders as we refined the plans throughout the job, Jason was very patient and understanding. He puts the customer first and is not the least bit defensive if something is called out as not being right. Rather, his first reaction is to understand the problem and work towards resolution. The floors turned out fantastic. We are very happy with the results and our decision to use California Flooring Service. So we reached out to the Owner Jason who responded promptly and set up an appointment. We live in an older ranch style house with wood floors from the 1950s. They are still in great shape and we love the way the look and feel and we keep them pretty clean, but they were in need of a careful deep cleaning. My husband and I had used Jason and his team for re-flooring most of our home and we loved their work so much, we went back to them for a bathroom remodel. I struggled writing this review because I don't know how to put into words what an amazing job they did. He made the quote process easy, showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and did a quality installation. I had one tile in the kitchen that was bugging me (it was installed correctly, it was just off in shape). Jason said, "No problem". I don't know how, but they took out the tile (after grout) and put in a new one. You can't tell where it was, and it's perfect. Both the wood crew and the tile crew were professional and communicative. They arrived on time and the work finished ahead of schedule. There were no "we will come back to fix it" issues.
