Friendly prompt service. Very tasty food! Prices are moderate, as can be expected in a nice, walkable, downtown location. Slight slope upward as you walk into the historic building. My dad loved the steak & tripe pho. I enjoyed the shrimp pho. The side of vegetables to be added to the soup included lime, jalapeño, bean sprouts. There was no basil today. But it was all good! We started the meal with shrimp summer rolls as our appetizer, but ate them too quickly to get a photo taken of them. The peanut dipping sauce was yummy. We parked on the street at a parking meter. This is a nice neighborhood to walk around either before or after your meal. Right next to the theater. We took a peek in the grocery store next-door (owned by the same family) and found bok choy, dragon fruit, lychee, coconut for drinking, and lots of ingredients you would want for doing your own Vietnamese cooking. We just moved into the neighborhood and wanted to try out the Vietnamese food to see how it compared to NYC. I guess when you grow up in NYC you are spoiled. I was disappointed with the pho that I got from here as it seemed to be lacking toppings especially the pho ga and the pho broth tasted very salty. I ordered it through door dash. They packaged the food well and everything came in tact. The pho ga came with five sliced pieces of chicken breast, the usual bean sprouts thai basil, lime and side packets of hoisin and sriracha and noodles. The pho dac biet had a couple slices of ribeye, a couple of pieces Of tendon and tripe and meatball with the usual vegetable toppings and side sauces. The fried spring roll was decent and came with a nice side sauce to add more flavor to it. The cam tam dac biet was decent and was presented nicely In the package. The short ribs were clearly cooked and then refried. Love to support local food places. But this place was really bad. When I expressed the issue of the overcooked food and difficulty chewing, I was met with a horrible attitude. Also, I ordered the beef vermicelli and it looked super off and when she gave me the receipt it said "pork" and she said "yeah it was pork" I don't eat pork. read more

Love Pho is remarkably clean and well lit, ambiance overall is... enh but that not why I go to Pho joints. The woman who took care of seemed to be a one person army, both waiting tables and making food. Not uncommon, but makes for an oddly paced meal. Fortunately my family still likes one another enough that the time passed swiftly. Onto the food, we had summer rolls which were rolled fresh, not sitting in a tray somewhere drying out. I like their peanut sauce a lot. I had the house pho and it was well loaded, the broth is very beefy with little globs of fat, good plate of basil, jalapeño and bean sprouts. I like lots of variety and quantity of fresh herbs so not bad. My wife had one of the banh cuon dishes. The pork was amazing the Nuoc Cham was closer to a sweetened fish sauce than the limey, sometimes fiery Nuoc Cham I associate w Southern Vietnamese food. My daughter had a seafood and noodle soup with a delicious fish broth, thick spongey noodles and again, well packed with shrimp, fish balls and other delectables. My son had shrimp pho. The food is great, service quirky, be warned if you're in a rush or impatient it they are super accommodating. Be sure to visit the little market they have next door. A friend had recommended this place and I was excited to try it out since it was pretty close to my home. Parking is street metered parking only so make sure you give yourself some time to find a parking spot if you're meeting someone to dine here. When I entered, there was only one young girl working and she didn't even acknowledge me, I stood there waiting. She then walked towards me, didn't say anything, grabbed a menu and walked away. Apparently that was my sign to follow... I ended up walking to the table and sitting down without acknowledgement. After she came back and took my order, the food and drink was promptly brought out. I would not see her again until I flagged her down to pay my check. She never once came and asked if everything was okay. The "large" pho.... was not very large. Not only that but it hardly had any meat and the rice noodles I would say would be average for a small. I know this because I've also eaten pho all over the country. I'm also comparing their pho to local establishments. I wasn't a fan of the broth either, it was definitely lacking flavor. I though the place in Allentown was really bad with small portions but this place even beats theirs. I'm extremely disappointed and don't think it's even worth trying again. Two stars was because the food came out in a timely fashion. Sadly everything else was very unfavorable. I would not recommend this establishment for pho. read more

I really hate to post a one star review, but we ordered Pho (to-go) from here and was very disappointed. It was very bland and lack the authentic Pho flavors. There was a lot of noodles, the beef was very sparse and so was the basil, lime, etc. but there was an overwhelming amount of noodles. So sorry to say that it felt like a plain boiled water with lots of noodles. First time here and was surprised since it seems that a lot of people like this place. I may try them again and hope to post a better review with a different dish. Really hope this was an off-day for them. read more

Unassuming joint with a deceiving restaurant sign that DOESN'T state "Love Pho & PL Cafe." Very accommodating ladies that bring the food almost as fast as you order! We got mainly the pho. With a dab of Sriracha sauce to the grilled shrimp rice noodle dish, it was a magic food moment! Very fresh, authentic and delicious. Although, we arrived to a very clean quiet interior, we left while it was jumping with stream of takeouts and sit-down customers from different walks of life. Good prices, memorable place and food. Very disappointed...... The wait was the worse.... The food was not quality as the "grilled" pork was marinaded and had more fat then meat. Egg rolls were tiny and served with 1 piece of lettuce. The fish sauce really needs improvement. The summer rolls with grilled pork were ok. This place needs to hire more help. My husband and I watched as people walked out the door because no one was there to seat them. Sadly we will not return...Real good Vietnemese food is in Philly but too far of a drive. I have been shopping at the Vietnamese grocery store for a while now and got to know the owner a bit. I'm really glad that this place is finally open after such a long wait! The food is authentic with a twist, the overall taste is less punchy than lots of other Vietnamese places. It's a good and bad thing. Fish sauce is essential to Vietnamese cuisine, but it's an acquired taste in the US. Lime, Vietnamese chilly pepper, garlic,and fish sauce are the base and you can add you own twist to it. This place tones down the fish sauce and certain herbs for obvious reasons. As a person who like authentic taste, I have to bring my own fish sauce and herbs to customize the dish. Since Mr. Lee's fusion noodle next door is so popular, I guess it's a good strategy to survive. Service is on the slow side because they are newly open. There weren't any good Viet restaurants in the Lehigh Valley, so hearing about this one opening near me got me very excited. However, the restaurant did not live up to its hype. The servers are very kind and attentive; it's just that the restaurant is short on cooks (hence, the long wait time). As a Vietnamese person who grew up eating pho all her life, I am very disappointed in the broth/soup base in Pho Tai Bo Vien. I had to add hoisin sauce in my bowl numerous times because it had no flavor... It tasted like water. If the head chef/owner sees this, I strongly encourage you to make your pho more authentic and flavorful. That way, you will bring in more Vietnamese and Asian customers and not just cater to westerners' taste buds. The Thai boba tea was decent. I recommend cooking the boba with brown sugar to stand out :) read more

I've eaten Pho all over the country and this is the worst I've had. Let me start by saying the broth had a different taste but it was still good. Our steamed shrimp/pork egg roll had a hair in it wrapped under the clear rice paper and the lettuce was overpowering and chewy, not crisp like it usually is. :( It was lacking meat, and I only got about two pieces of meat and mostly little pieces of fat. I was so disappointed but we love Pho and this just didn't do it for us. Our waitress never showed up to ask how everything was, Pho took a long time to arrive. I might try it again, but all in all I personally didn't have a great experience here Maybe I'm used to more authentic Pho places? I don't know, it was like dumbed down Vietnamese cuisine and I really went in wanting to love it! read more

Delicious authentic pho at a great price and generous portions! The outside of the restaurant might appear lacking to some but the interior is very nicely decorated. I recommend starting with the House Deluxe pho and in the smaller size since the serving is quite large. I came here with a large group in early June soon after they first opened. One of the friends I came with is family friends with the owner and highly recommended his cooking. It might be because they had only just opened but the restaurant could use more waiters since service was a bit slow to keep up with the number of customers. Nevertheless we were all very satisfied with our food so it was worth the wait. I also tried the Vietnamese coffee that my friend ordered, which she attested was also very authentic since they use the typical French brand. It was nice and strong (rather than watered down like at other places) but not overpowering and great with the condensed milk. The rice dish was also cute since they shape the rice into a heart. Probably one of the best Vietnamese places in the area without having to go to Philly. Can't wait to come back to try their other dishes. read more

I try my very best to support local businesses that are run by small families and I'm elated to say that this place has the best pho in the Lehigh valley, second only to my mother. I have quite literally tried every Vietnamese restaurant in Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton and not one of those places can compare when it comes to pho. I am willing to drive out to Easton from Bethlehem just to have a meal here. Never had an issue with them thus far and they're wonderfully accommodating. Great service and great food. The restaurant is nice but service is very disorganized with different main courses coming out in dribs and drabs and honestly the pho is "meh" at best very bland with not a whole lot of meat or vegetables in the broth.
