I STILL AM IN LOVE WITH LOVE SUSHI!! Went here today for Valentine's day! The staff was so delightful!! We ordered the Boston Roll, Spicy Crunchy California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Shrimp Tempura Roll!! The rolls were about $4.50/roll outside of happy hour, which isn't bad at all! Absolutelyyyy delicious especially the shrimp tempura and boston roll. I never really stray from these two rolls.. nom nom nom. The establishment was well decorated with balloons, roses, and candles! It was so cute! They even let you take the rose from your table home, but I left it. It would have died if I took it home (haha). We even got miso soup as an appetizer and banana tempura dessert on the house. Miso soup is your ordinary miso soup from any restaurant, but yummy as a starter. I felt so special today with all the freebies!! Such an awesome place and it's hard for me to go anywhere else for sushi! I just love it here!! read more

Good, not great. Have been here once for lunch and will come back for dinner to try a wider variety, which is arguably a better test of a restaurant. I stuck to the basics today and had Miso, Spicy Crunchy Tuna roll and the Salmon, Avo, Cucumber roll. Miso was fine. Rolls were good but lacked any strong flavors. Tuna roll wasn't spicy to me and both rolls were chewy. I think it was the seaweed wrap which I know can happen sometimes. Next time I'll try the specialty rolls which I am guessing will have the size and flavor I was looking for. Staff was very friendly and the service was quick. They had the low-sodium soy sauce on all the tables which I always find very bland. I'm sure I could ask for the regular, but didn't get around to it on this quick lunch trip. I'll go back, try more items, and likely bump up this rating! read more

They do awesome lunch specials. They do two rolls for about $7 and three rolls for about $10. They also have $10 lunch bento boxes that include salad, rice, 3 pieces of sushi and choice of protein. I get spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura- add avocado. I get the occasional crab meat wonton appetizer which is always crunchy and fresh. Honestly nothing special though. Living in Rockville, I am always looking for new sushi places to go and I was excited to read fellow Yelpers review this new place that popped up right down the street from me. I decided to try Love Sushi on a Tuesday afternoon. I walked in and was greeted heartily by all three employees in the restaurant and was a little shocked to see that I was going to be the only patron. This better be good, I thought to myself. I was seated at a table and promptly served the water I ordered. My waiter approached me and I asked if there were any lunch specials available (it was 3:45p) and was told that they ended at 3:00 pm. No problem -- I came too late. I ordered a cup of miso soup as well as a rainbow, shrimp tempura, and spicy tuna rolls. The miso soup came out in a very generous cup (I'd say almost a bowl) and had a good amount of chives, tofu cubes, and seaweed in it. It was a great way to get started. My rolls came out a few minutes later. The rainbow roll was cut into 8 generous pieces and each piece of fish on top was thick-cut and very fresh (contrary to the frozen slivers portrayed in previous reviews). Unfortunately, the crab portion was imitation. The spicy tuna roll came in 6 pieces and was also generously cut. Unfortunately for me, the filling was not very spicy. I'd also like to add that the wasabi was not very hot either (I like things HOT). Finally, the shrimp tempura was just okay. The shrimp was wrapped in lettuce, which I had never seen and wasn't particularly fond of. Flavor wise, this place is better than average. The service was terrific, my water was refilled at least 3 times while I sat down. The waiters were very patient and asked me how everything was on two occasions. I had to dock for the fact that this place did not accept American Express (who are HUGE proponents of shopping at small businesses, thus an automatic star deduction). I also had to dock a point for the fact that all of this cost me ~$24 pre-tip which I consider a pretty hefty price to pay at a small sushi restaurant during a weekday lunch. Would I go back? Only if a friend really wanted to try it out or I couldn't bear to drive 5-10 more minutes to a more desirable location. read more

This was my first time dining in, after a somewhat lackluster takeout experience. My sushi was so good this time! I got a salmon avocado roll and a tuna avocado roll, both of which were fresh and filling. I also got the miso soup- the tofu was good, but the seaweed had a very metallic under taste. Came here for lunch while visiting a friend the other day. They have a lunch special on sushi -- any two rolls for $7 or 3 rolls for $10 -- which is very nice. The choices are most of the basic rolls, I chose two, the eel and avocado and tuna and avocado (I think it was called Vegas roll??) And my third I ordered seperately because it was not included in the lunch special and that was the spicy scallop roll. All of the rolls were fantastic. The tuna was fresh and delicious and there was a nice sized portion. The eel was sweet and tasty and the scallop roll, oh man, so delicious. For $12 I left more than satisfied and my only complaint is I wish this place were closer to me (Baltimore) 'cause I'd frequent often for sure. read more

After 5 years of passing by, I decided to stop by. I was pleasantly surprised. A friend told me that they had sushi burritos, which I love. I'd previously thought I'd have to venture into DC or VA for a good one, but I've found my go-to spot 5 minutes from my apartment. The place offers sushi (obviously), but more importantly, CUSTOMIZABLE sushi burritos. You can pick 3 proteins, along with toppings and sauces, which comes out to be roughly $12. A bit on the pricey side, admittedly, which is why this place isn't getting 5 stars from me. But it's worth it if you're craving one, because it's certainly delicious. Important to note, their burritos aren't as large as those from other spots like Buredo, but still, you'll get full. I only visited once to get my take-out burrito, but will definitely be stopping by to explore other burrito combinations. If you're ever in the Shady Grove area, stop by this little spot. read more

I LOVED my experience here. Wait staff was attentive - cleared plates quickly, delivered food quickly, and we got our check without too much waiting time. I feel like we never had to call a server over to our table for anything. We also got a "service" or "on the house" dessert which was banana tempura and guava candy. All the sushi was delicious as well. I personally loved the sushi burrito option in which I was able to choose three proteins, three sides, and three sauces all for what I think was a price of $11.99! That was extremely filling and I was surprised I could do that deal during dinner time. All desserts were also under 3 dollars. I think this place is just a go to sushi place that isn't overly expensive. It has options for people who don't eat raw as well. It's just a safe date place. Just ok. The sushi was fine but it's next to a vet and my husband is allergic to cats. There was so much cat dander in that restaurant that we almost had to leave. The sushi rolls were good, service was prompt, restaurant seemed clean, and all that. An overall above average experience! Let's start with the service. There were about 4 servers working, and it didn't seem to matter who was working in which section...they would ALL come to your table to check on you! The food was pretty good. I loved the sushi burrito...big enough and, for $12, contained a good amount of the three proteins I picked (shrimp tempura, spicy salmon and spicy tuna). Twelve o'clock on a Wednesday afternoon and all I could think about was "miso hungry". Seriously I was starving and needed good food fast. A coworker suggested Love Sushi and I was sold. Who doesn't love sushi? Let's be honest, my spirit food would probably be a roll of sushi. Love Sushi is located in a chaotic strip mall. I had to seriously control my "tempura" while driving through the parking lot. Eventually we found ourselves inside and seated immediately. Love sushi definitely has some lovers in the MD Burbs because it was packed! Who knew this gem was so popular during the lunch rush?!? We were given menus and by the looks of it there is something for everyone. Vegan, vegetarian, pescatarians, and carnivores can all love Love Sushi. Everything looked good and the prices were in line with the area. I ordered a lunch special, two rolls for $8... don't be fooled, you're literally getting two rolls. Most places also bring a house salad or miso soup with a lunch specials but not here. I ordered a sweet potato tempura roll and it was so tasty. The rice on the outside was cooked to perfection and the sweet potatoes were still crispy throughout the meal. My other roll was a Philadelphia minus the salmon (yes that means avocado and cream cheese). The roll was average but I will say the amount of filling was a lot more than some of the other resturants near by. Large chunks of both avocado and cream cheese. My coworker went with the double salmon roll and it was beautiful! I wanted to take a picture and I don't even eat fish. I believe it had multiple types of fish, crab and two types of salmon. While beautiful it was $14, a little steep for one roll. Service was friendly and there were plenty of employees to flag down if needed. However; while they were quick to take our order it took forever to get it. We had to get our bill before our food because it was taking so long. I would 100% recommended Love Sushi as long as you have an hour for lunch/dinner. We'll be back! read more

I was really hoping that I'd feel like the other reviewers on this place. I was in the area, and wanted something to eat. I love sushi. The reviews were promising and I wanted to be able to agree. I really don't. I know good sushi, and this is average at best. If you like the sushi found in your local grocery, then this place is for you. If you are at all picky, skip this spot. First, then menu has a million rolls. When I see this many, my first mind is that you're hiding something in all that "creativity". The nigiri list is relatively short. I ordered miso soup, surf clam and yellowtail nigiri. I took a chance on the toro sashimi. Now, toro should be an appetizing color and melt in your mouth. This was a sickly looking pink and I actually smelled it before tasting. Not a good sign. After tasting, I left it on the plate. The rice...meh...and too much for the slices of fish. I left a lot of that on the plate as well. The miso soup was lukewarm and tasteless. For me, this was a disappointment. In the general area, sushi oishii and Asia nine are much better choices if you wanna get your sushi game on. I didn't Love Sushi here. But the one thing that I did appreciate was the good service of my waitress. Attentive and friendly service. It's what gets the stars. read more

Been going to this place for years and its amazing, however the short hispanic server that works there has the worst service. I said thank you every time and she has said nothing back. She tried to take my plate when I wasn't finished and also forgot sauce on the side. She needs more training as well and needs to to make eye contact. I'm a little on the fence. The sushi was pretty good. However the slight language barrier was kind of a nuisance. I couldn't speak directly to the Sushi chefs and ask him for their advice, opinion or any specials they might have. My favorite is always been Chef's Choice where they have fun and make something off menu that usually taste amazing. However they understood no English and I was unable to ask them. Kind of a bummer. This will forever and always be my go to place for cheap & quick sushi. I KNOW! Cheap and quick are usually not something you want to hear; however, in the case of Love Sushi, they are an exception. They seem to have found the balance between price and quality. If you want sushi which has been wrapped in gold plated leafs, this is not your place, but if you was standard sushi done well, then look no further. The staff will frequently bring the table free miso soups during the winter, and will also bring free deserts for the table, if you come frequently enough.
