Avocado Cucumber Roll and Sweet Potato Tempura Roll
    Molly K.

Happy International Sushi Day! I had to celebrate with a visit to one of my regular sushi spots, Love Sushi. Love Sushi is walking distance from my work and I purchase lunch from them at least every other week. They have great lunch deals like 2 rolls for $10 and a miso soup add on for only $1.50. It is such an affordable option when I do not feel like packing a lunch or I want to treat myself. All my coworkers and myself get the sweet potato roll as one of the rolls. It is warm, a little crispy, and so delicious as it just melts in your mouth. My second favorite roll is the AAC which includes avocado, asparagus, and cucumber. It has a nice crunch with the asparagus and has a generous amount of avocado. Overall they are very vegan friendly with vegetable based sushi rolls. The miso soup is vegan which is such a great treat for me! At only $1.50 extra I almost always purchase it. The soup really helps me feel full and I love the salty and savory taste. Love Sushi has a great online ordering system. I have never had issues with my order being delayed, incorrect, or anything less than great quality. The inside of Love Sushi is really nice however I always take my meal to go. Sometime I need to stay awhile and enjoy more than just two rolls.

Really delicious spot! Their lunch special is so worth it & the quality is really good for the price you pay. The waiters were very kind and patient when I came with 5 of my friends and we all ordered sushi burritos. I've ordered from here at least 5 times now in the past two months so I'd definitely recommend to anyone who's looking for an affordable & tasty sushi fix! Particularly recommend the Tango Maki roll (pictured), the salmon quality was soo good.

Ordered takeout. Two sushi burritos and "crispy tofu". The tofu was drenched in oil, not even slightly crispy. The burritos were good but not worth the price. I was disappointed.

Sushi was OK, nothing special and didn't taste particularly fresh. Prices are a little on the high side compared to Nishiki for example. Ordered one of the combo sets and although the menu says it comes with miso soup, the staff told us the menu was out of date and wouldn't give us any soup. It's located in a strip mall and definitely has a bit of a plain vibe inside, service was OK but definitely wouldn't come back to a place that refuses to serve what's promised on the menu.

They have lunch special which was good. 3 roll special was good. Easy pick up. Would order again. Which they have spicy California roll....

My friends and I were craving sushi and we've heard a lot of great things about Love Sushi. It's located in the Gaither Center strip mall and if you can't find parking in the front, there's plenty in the back and sides. We started off with complimentary miso soup and edamame which were normal. Our sushi order consisted of: -Ashley Roll -Love House Club -California Roll (this has a peanut warning but we literally couldn't taste any peanut, but just be aware if you have someone who is allergic to legumes or nuts) And two other ones I can't remember but generally speaking the sushi quality is higher quality and not fishy at all than some places in the area but it's not amazing enough to warrant a five star. The service was great and our waitress was super nice. I would say this place is a good location to satisfy your sushi cravings if you're nearby.

I've been coming here for a very long time and the sushi is really good and fresh so I wanted to update my review. My favorite sushi rolls are the shrimp tempura roll and the spicy tuna rolls. I also love the chicken teriyaki lunch boxes! They have so many options and my favorite time to go is lunch time. The economy has risen greatly and they are still serving 2 hand rolls for $9.95. You can't beat that. It's a cozy little spot off shady grove rd. The staff is friendly and the sushi chefs are great! They also have Saki for a good price and I always get that hot

Love sushi is a solid spot to get your sushi fix. The sushi is fresh and the portions are plentiful! Their prices are also reasonable compared to other places in MoCo. My go-to order is Crunchy Spicy Salmon rolls and Crunchy Spicy Tuna rolls. While they are really simple rolls, I've had bad experiences at other places. Love sushi delivers on their Maki rolls, providing a great fish-to-rice ratio. We also got the Ikura (Salmon Roe), which was great! The roe was packed to the brim and overflowing and again, perfect ratio of rice-to-roe. Unfortunately, I was so hungry that I scarfed my food before I could snap a picture . My fianceé however got the Chirashi bowl and we did manage to get a picture so please feast your eyes on this massive bowl of sashimi over rice! (I'll add some more pics next time we order! ) My only complaint is, the last time we ordered delivery it took well over an hour for the order to arrive, and we live about 10 mins from there. Now I just pickup instead of being lazy lol. All in all, Love Sushi is a great option if you're looking for sushi!

    Sushi burrito!!!

Stopped by with my BFF after long day at work. I've been in the area forever but have never been until she mentioned it. I ordered takoyaki, chashu volcano ramen, and she got seafood udon. It didn't take long for the order to arrive. The takoyaki had two pieces of octopus in it. I was not a fan of the lettuce underneath. It gave that horrible smell of warm lettuce transferred onto the otherwise okay tasting takoyaki. The ramen was not authentic but still delicious. I wish they added bean sprouts instead of raw snow cabbage. The eggs were well seasoned but overcooked. It still tasted good and I gobbled everything up. My friend liked her noodles but it was not spicy enough and had too many shrimp in it. The owner came out with extra spices to adjust the flavor, which I thought was nice. I am intrigued by the sushi burrito that was on the menu. Many people walked in just to order them in-person. Hilarious part is I saw zero Asians eating in there except for one table. Most people seemed to have preferred doing takeaway orders. CCACC employees get 10% off and bill is cheaper if paid in cash. I wouldn't mind visiting on days that Yoyogi is closed. Really a 3.5 but rounding up for a 4.

We ordered some app, sushi, and a ton of meats. The sushi was so/so the ikura was a bit fishy/not the freshest, but I gave it a pass since it was included in the AYCE. The fried lotus was surprisingly my favorite non meat dish. Our friend rice was served lukewarm (the consistency of rice was a bit uneven like older rice that was left out for a bit) and way too oily so we had to send it back. Had no issues with the meat and service - although it was a tad slow and the 10 minute cooldown between ordering was unexpected. Our server was great and kept checking in with us. A few items we ordered never made it out to us, but at that point we were too full to care. My main complaint was with one of the hosts. We finished our meal and thanked our waiter and made our way back to the parking garage. From behind, we heard a very loud "EXCUSE ME." We originally thought we had dropped something and someone was looking out for us, but was appalled when she followed us halfway across the street and said "you think you're just going to leave without paying for your mocktail?" That was hands down the rudest I've been treated by a customer service based establishment. I've worked in hospitality and know you should never accuse a customer of anything. To make matters worse, she got the wrong people - we never ordered a mocktail. Will likely not return to Gyuzo for a while and stick to other bbq places with better service.

It was really popular that evening, so the three of got squished at the table meant for two, but we didn't mind. We ordered pretty quickly, but with how busy it was, it took a bit for the food to come out CHILEAN SEA BASS - 37 As I scanned through, my eyes immediately fell on the miso sea bass. Despite the price point, I knew I had to go for it because sea bass is hard to find around here. This set came with rice, house salad, miso soup, and cold tofu. The sides were pretty standard -- no compliments, but no complaints either. On the other hand, the sea bass was wonderful. Super creamy and soft, with a strong miso sweetness that packed so much umami upon each bite. I would definitely splurge on this set just for the sea bass. My friend got the ramen and didn't love it, so I'll probably avoid that during future visits. The katsu curry that the table next to us ordered looked and smelled amazing. Overall, food was delicious and homey. I'd definitely recommend!

After waiting a while, our waitress finally came over and took our order. We ordered an appetizer first while deciding on our entrees. A few minutes later, the exact same waitress returned and asked if we wanted to order any appetizers, apparently forgetting that we had already done so. I specifically asked whether the salmon in the Philly roll was fresh or smoked because I don't like smoked salmon. I was assured it was fresh. When it arrived, it was clearly smoked salmon. The bao buns were actually pretty good, although the lettuce was wilted and looked like it had been sitting around for a while. A different server eventually took our entrée order. Less than five minutes later, that same server came back and asked if we were ready to close out our check, despite the fact that we were still waiting for our food and had not received our entrees yet. When the food finally arrived, the ramen was disappointing. The noodles were undercooked and the broth was excessively salty. The katsu curry was the highlight of the meal and was genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, the miso soup that accompanied it was overloaded with dashi powder and tasted overwhelmingly fishy. Which made sense with the overpowering fish market smell upon entering the restaurant. To top it all off, when we were ready to leave, the server brought the credit card receipt for signature but forgot to bring a pen. Between the repeated service mistakes, incorrect menu information, lack of attention to the table, and inconsistent food quality, I'm genuinely surprised this restaurant has managed to stay in business. There's a limit on nigiri/sashimi to one piece per order. What that means is that, when you put in your first (and subsequent orders), you can order one tuna, one salmon, etc nigiri/sashimi. That is a lot better than what I originally thought, which was one nigiri/sashimi total for each round. The variety in the AYCE is impressive. Lots of sushi, sashimi, nigiri, salads, soups, variety of appetizers (not all fried stuff!) and hibachi (beef, chicken and shrimp). Tonight, the food arrived pretty quickly after we put in an order. There was an issue toward the end of the evening when the app stopped working at our table and the table next to ours. The Staff did what they could to fix things; it did take about 20 minutes, though. I'm assuming this isn't typical. Staff did say that this does happen from time to time and the customer needs to exit the app and reorder. Except for the 20 minute delay, things worked fine.
