The hygienist was very nice and friendly and tried to make my visit as enjoyable as going to the dentist can be (even though it seemed like she was still in training). The facility is not up to date with the latest technology and their equipment appeared to need some upgrades. The xray machines were causing issues and they don't even have a suction cup for you to spit out the residue and blood in your mouth. I came for a routine cleaning but they ended up telling me that I had some cavities which was shocking because I've had pretty good oral hygiene and have not had a cavity in years and now I have 3??? My teeth weren't even bothering me but I took their word for it and had some "cavities" filled. Everything seemed fine at first since I was all numbed up, but when I finally regained feeling in my mouth in the evening, I was unable to bite down because it was too painful. I waited a little over a week for the pain to dissipate but nothing improved so I had to schedule another appointment. The dentist explained that there was an issue with the resin or something about the filling between the teeth - whatever it was, they ended up fixing the job that they did poorly initially. I figured I would not be charged to come back for them to fix their mistake but I was wrong. Got the bill in the mail and was pretty livid. Whatever. Will not be returning to this dentist. I don't care how nice and friendly a business is if they can't do their job right and take accountability for their mistakes. Overall, I did not have a terrible experience but it surely was not a great one. read more

Got in the chair and they immediately said I had 3 cavities and needed a deep clean. Seeing as I haven't had a cavity in years and never needed a deep clean, this was a huge red flag. In addition, I had my dentist from Chicago send them my records and they said they never received them, which was the first red flag. I had the doctor show me the "cavities" and they were un recognizable on an x Ray scan. This place is out to up sell people for sure. Don't recommend. In addition they had a similar outcome with my girlfriend . Again they said 3 cavities and recommended a bunch of procedures to up sell her. Wow read more

I was a little nervous to go to the dentist because it had been a couple years, but these guys took great care of me. They were very accommodating to my schedule when finding me an appointment and I didn't have to wait very long to get in. The office was very modern and the front office staff was warm and welcoming. The hygienist did a very gentle cleaning. Dr. Goldwire impressed me with how thorough the examination was. And guess what? No cavities! All in all, my return to the dentist was a much easier process than I anticipated and I appreciate the good experience. read more

they say beauty is pain, but my experience today belies the latter. i got in on the zoom groupon. it was set up in two appointments - a check-up & full set of digital x-rays (which they were glad to email to me!) in the first appointment, then they gave me a prescription for fluoride toothpaste to use before the zoom treatment a week later. this, i was told, would cut the pain to nearly nothing. now, i'm no stranger to bleaching my teeth, having done so every year or two for the past fifteen years, & it's ALWAYS painful. my teeth get sensitive during treatment, & cold foods & drinks are a problem for a couple weeks after. in the past few years i've been using a fluoride rinse after bleaching, & that's helped a lot - but i didn't really believe that the toothpaste would work THAT well. i was wrong! holy crap, i literally did not feel the bleaching. the zoom process didn't hurt my teeth AT ALL. i mean NOT EVEN A LITTLE. the fumes from the whitening gel did irritate my mucous membranes a bit, but i'm sitting here fifteen minutes after the procedure & am back to normal. what's more is this glass of water i'm drinking ALSO DOESN'T HURT. i'm truly shocked. the price was so good that i expected the bare minimum treatment, but the folks at SeattleScape went FAR beyond my expectations. aside from the xrays & checkup, they also took impressions of my teeth & made whitening trays, & gave me a zoom touchup kit to use in a year or so. i was treated so well by the friendly staff, & i still can't believe how little i paid. when i'm upset about something, i'm loud about it; but when i'm happy, i'm MUCH louder. & you can believe i'll be telling all my friends to visit SeattleScape through my pearly white smile. update fourteen hours later: i've been having the expected & forewarned zinger pains, which are VERY painful, but the relief gel they gave me works well to combat that. in researching why it works so well (it actually rebuilds enamel!), i found a lot of people talking about chemical burns after zoom whitening. i neglected to mention in my review how utterly careful they were in applying the gum & mouth protection. i don't have a single tiny white spot or sore place in my oral tissues. happy, happy customer over here. :) read more

Hands down the best Dentists in Seattle. I've never been more impressed by the excellent dental work Dr. Phil and Dr. Peter provided. I had two crowns replaced and all four of my wisdom teeth extracted. I love my smile now! I was made so comfortable during my procedures! My cleaning and exam was more than I ever expected. My smile feels for the first time well-cared for! I just moved to LA but am keeping Dr. Peter as my dentist! Update! Its been about 7 months since I last reviewed them, so I thought they were deserving of an update. Last week I had a well deserved crown done, I am about 1/2 way through the process and currently have the temporary crown on. During a previous experience at another dental office, my temporary crown hurt constantly, felt like it was constantly going to come off and just overall a pain in the you-know-what. With SeattleScape Smiles, I have had none of that. Since day one, it hasn't hurt, it has been secure and I haven't had any trouble chewing (even gum...dont tell!). They also called me the day after my appointment to see how I was doing. I am so impressed after a year of service with them. I started going to SSS because of a friend's recommendation, and initally I enjoyed my visits with them. On my second visit, a cavity was identified and I was scheduled for a filling. On the day of the filling, the regular dentits were all out, and a doctor from another office treated me. He was gruff, not very personable. Before giving me novicane, he grabbed my cheek (hard!) and wiggled it viggorously. This was incredibly startling and uncomfortable for me. He drilled and filled my cavity. For a few days the cavity was very sensitive. I called and spoke to Abby, the front desk gal, who said that discomfort is usual. And for about another month, I was still in extreeme discomfort. I had intense headaches, intense pain at the filling point, the filling felt soft - chewing was very difficult. I went in twice to have it looked at. The first time they filed it down a bit, saying my bite was probably off. The second time I was prescribed a floride toothpaste and was told the pain would go away. That the doc probably nicked a nerve ending during the filling and that my body would adjust. When I complained a third time that I was still in discomfort, I was treated as though I was a whiny burden. Yeah, 6 months later, I still can't chew regularly on that side of my mouth - especially any crunchy or hard foods (cereal, hard breads, etc). Not going back here. They may have been nice for regular check-ups and cleanings, but when faced with a real issue (and their own errors) I was left more than disappointed. read more

After a 6 year hiatus from the dentist, I finally settled on SeattleScape Smiles. What can I say? They have excellent hygienist, excellent doctors, and a fantastic office staff. Jacky (the office manager) makes sure my insurance claims are taken care of promptly and correctly, insures my next appointments are booked (I definitely wouldn't do it if she didn't remind me), and just brings a general warm and positive vibe to my experience with SeattleScape. By far the best clerical person in dentistry that I've ever dealt with. The care I receive is excellent. Cleanings are thorough and the hygienists are sure to walk you through different brushing/flossing techniques to help with problem areas. I don't just feel like they're doing a job and then moving onto the next. They genuinely care about their clients/patients, and you couldn't ask for more than that. The doctors pay incredible attention to detail, reviewing your X-Rays each visit and looking for any and all types of abnormalities or movement in the teeth. I was recommended and fitted for a mouthguard after finding out I grind my teeth in my sleep. I certainly would never have caught that issue by myself, and wouldn't have known where to start when looking for solutions. I can't recommend SeattleScape Smiles enough. I went there cause I signed up for one of those dental plans that was supposed to be discount services. (I signed up for the plan when I needed something urgently & a friend recommended it; but then found out how few dentists accepted the plan, & was stuck with them) Really didn't like the "service", or the "discount" Went there 3-4 times, and each time it was a different inexperienced dentist doing the work. And each time got hi pressure sales pitches FROM THE DENTIST to get caps, get whitener, one actually recommended replacing teeth with implants. -- all just for cosmetic benefit, not because it was necessary for health. I KID YOU NOT. And the discount? First time, they gave me a written estimate -- then the supervisor snatched it back and said it was using the "wrong" listing of prices, and upped the cost by about 10%!!!! But the filling from one of the visits? Kept popping out, they couldn't do it right. I now have an appointment for a different dentist to do the SAME cavity. Also, if you schedule a visit late in the day or early -- unless they get booked solid for the week, expect a call to change the appointment so that the dentist doesn't have to come in that morning or afternoon to "just do one patient." This happened to me TWICE. read more

I've been going here for about 2 years now (4 cleanings total), and recommend it to all my friends. The only reason it is short of a 5 star rating is that I haven't had enough contact with the dentists that run the practice, save the few minutes at the end of a check-up. My hygienist, Whitney, is stellar. She gives me practical advice if my teeth are in need of some extra TLC and she really knows her stuff. She was unforgiving on a late fee, cut me off on the phone and used a patronizing tone. This was all after getting attitude from Chelsea one of their front desk coordinators. I was just patched up after my front tooth cap shattered and I was unable to see my regular dentist over the weekend. What a relief to find a dentist on a Saturday, and a good one. Dr. Noreen Goldwire was excellent and caring, and she even found a cavity in the tooth next to it, which I will deal with before it turns into yet another root canal (I've had 3). Staff friendly, office clean and professional. I would recommend this place for dental care, routine or urgent. read more

Dr. Neal Raval is wonderful. He has done 2 frenectomies and a gum graft for me. All procedures went off without a problem. He is very kind, answers all your questions and does a great job. I had no pain during either of the procedures, no pain after the frentomies and only mild pain after the gum graft. The entire office is very professional and friendly. I received excellent instructions that made everything very easy. I will definitely keep going there. read more

I used to love going to this dentist office. I've been going for 5 years, since I moved to seattle. In the last 2-3 years the service has gone down substantially. Not only are the dental assistants changing EVERY TIME, you can't even rely on the dentist being the same each time. For instance, I just had a dentist from Olympia who was "helping out," who barely glanced at my teeth or used the tool to check to for cavities (he was in my mouth for less than 15 seconds, not even exaggerating). The dental hygienist used the water tool that usually takes place instead of using the manual tool on your teeth/gums. She did both instead and GOUGED my mouth. I am not wilting violet at the dentist- I have had two root canals, multiple fillings and my teeth are worth a ton just based on how much this stuff costs. I have not had this awful a time at the dentist in YEARS. My husband had an appointment earlier this month and they insinuated he doesn't brush his teeth or floss, condescendingly explaining that you should try to brush at least once a day and floss a few times a week- he does both brushing and flossing religiously two or more times a day, which they acted like he didn't tell them that and said he should switch to an electric toothbrush. He said he has the model they have on display, to which she was like oh you mean one like it? He said no, that EXACT SAME ONE. The woman who did that also asked if my husband went by a nickname because his name is "osama." My husband had NEVER felt racially singled out until this moment. I will not be returning to this place and I highly suggest they check their practices; if their turnover rate is so high they need to evaluate their business model and adjust. read more

The hygienists are a mix and I've never had a problem with any of the dentists, but dealing with the office staff just became too annoying. This office is so good, that even though we now live in Kona Hawaii, we always come to this office for our dental work. I am in my mid fifties now and this is far and away the best dentist I have ever visited. Dr. Bill and his staff have bent over backwards for my family. His staff is friendly, very competent and fully professional. This was my first time at this location as I was recommended to go here from a colleague. They sent me away with a great smile and I plan on making them my permanent dentist for as long as I can. With many dental offices available in the area, I recommend this clinic be avoided until wayward billing practices cease. I intend to stand up for myself which will cause severe anxiety and take several hours/days of my time. And I have a perfect credit rating but who knows what the management of this office will do to me -- a long time and loyal customer. I have been a long-time patient at this dental clinic (many years) because the dentists and dental assistants are superb. But something has gone terribly wrong with their billing practices. In my case, days before a most recent elective procedure, I was given both a written and verbal billing statement, by the office manager, so I would know the exact out-of-pocket cost. (I even had a copy of my dental insurance policy in hand, but was told was my in-hand policy was not needed since my policy was available online and all was well and good.) Knowing the exact cost of the procedure is highly important to me so I proceeded to make an appointment and have the dental work completed. After my appointment and upon leaving, I paid my bill in the exact amount that had been quoted as described above. Then, approximately 10 weeks later, out of the blue, without even so much as a personal phone call, I received a NEW bill in the mail requiring me to pay hundreds of dollars ABOVE the originally amount I had been quoted and already paid! How a business thinks they operate in this way and still stay in business is beyond me. Is this even legal? read more

Horrible service! I would put no stars if I could. I scheduled a new patient appointent a couple weeks ago, which they said they needed 2 hours for, which I thought was long, but ok. Scheduled appt., filled out all the ne patient paperwork mailed to me, took time off from work and used PTO, (I have an extremely demanding job and kids, so not easy to schedule things). My appt. was for 3 p.m., but at 2 p.m., I get a vm asking if I can come in early because their earlier appt had cancelled, then, apparently @ 2:45 they left me another msg (didn't get the short notice vm saying the dr. (turned out to be a temp, not the Dr. I made and appt). with was going home sick .Ya RIGHT..., what really happened was I was their last appt . and he didn't want to stick around. I showed up, since I hadn't recieved the 2nd vm and the front desk girl said it wasn't even the Dr. that had gone home, but a temp, they had called in. They don't even let me know this beforehand that I would be seeing a temp?? This place is brand new and I have a feeling they won't last long. I know the Dentists (owners) have other established locations, so they should just stick to those. Horrible new patient service. If I had just just cancelled last minute, I am sure they would have charged me. Huge inconvenience!! So back on the hunt for a new great dentist who can do caps too if anyone has a good reccomendation. read more

AWFUL! HORRIBLE! Ok, this is my second review. The office give you a $25 discount for writing a review and another for "checking-in." You get what you pay for!! Basically, after a skeptical first visit, I decided to go ahead and have one filling done because - the price was right! They went down from initially wanting $255 for a cavity to $155 and then poof, got two yelp discounts, and magically a cavity fillings was $96. Had I known, I would have NEVER done the filling at SeattleScape. The anesthesia needle was extremely painful, I could feel tightening in my jaw, I was starting to feel anxious and I got the absolute, WORST comments ever from the dentist - I was told "I need to figure it out" "deal with my problems" "be stronger than a 6 year old" etc. Then the dentist went on and on about his claustrophobic issues, and the thought process of why he couldn't fly and how when telling the story before his brother could no longer get on a flight the next day. He repeated himself again and again in a very high strung manner. I asked him to please stop talking about anxiety when I was clearing feeling anxious. Then he went on and on about how some people cant get in the door to the dentist and how next time they'll give me a Valium! STOP, ALREADY, PLEASE! I have NEVER experienced anxiety like this in a dental chair and had gone in expecting nothing of the sort. But my freeze or flee wirings were going off like crazy!! The last thing I wanted to talk about (or only get to listen to) is regarding more and more anxiety. Since I had "come this far" I decided to go ahead with the filling though I really wanted to GET UP AND LEAVE. I will listen to my gut next time!! The worst dental experience of my life! The filling is done, my jaw is tight and hurts to open. The entire top area of the tooth is filled, though the cavity was on the edge of the tooth in the space between it and the next tooth. The surface is extremely rough and the color doesn't match. If ever there was a crackpot dentist - this is the place that has them!! DON'T GO!!!! read more

this was the most lovely dental experience I have ever had - and I went in to get a tooth pulled. that's how great they are. everyone is kind and knowledgeable and made my comfort a priority. I clearly haven't written a review in forever, and they were worth it. they were helpful with my insurance, rescheduled me very easily when my tooth started giving me problems and needed to go before I'd planned. When I changed my mind about getting the bone graft, there was no pressure of an upsell like there has been at other dentists. They really listened to what I needed. they were also a second opinion from a previous dentist who wanted to save the tooth (with a very expensive procedure). so they wound up saving me $1700 (pre crown) and didn't try and talk me into keeping an infected tooth for some nonsense reason. read more

Misinformed me on a crown I didn't need, then botched it...3 times. I've gone through 3 crowns in 3 years on the same tooth and it's very sensitive. I'm surprised to see all the bad reviews for Seattle Scape Smiles! At my recent dental appointment I was warmly greeted by Kelsey, and Whitney was ready for me and promptly started my cleaning . I had one filling that needed to be done and they easily accommodated my busy schedule by getting me in the same day. Dr. Andy was so gentle that I didn't feel the shot. He was terribly concerned about my comfort the entire time, and I will be requesting him as my dentist from now on.
