However, let's get into this food. Both times, I have ordered the wings and tingz. I know I need to try something different next time :). My food was so good that I had to eat in silence. I didn't even have the energy to put on a show; I just needed a moment alone with my platter to savor every bite. I think the mac and cheese has the perfect consistency of creamy, crusted cheese and flavor. The wings are really good, too! You don't really need a sauce to pair them with; they are good on their own and super tasty. I hope the chef has a fantastic weekend; they deserve whatever they want for how good this food is. I hope this establishment receives all the love it deserves. I would definitely come here again, and I would bring my family in person for a family dinner. Next time, I will definitely try the Rasta pasta or some of their other dishes.

The flavors and quality were typical of what your expect from similar takeout establishments in the DMV. I do like their jerk pasta, however, it was on the salty side. I chalked it up to inconsistent preparation. The plantains are fried well. Overall, an OK experience.

At heart, I'm a man that truly enjoy most Caribbean dishes ( oxtails, goat, curry/jerk chicken,…read moreroti, etc ) So, I set out on a quest to give a new Caribbean cuisine restaurant a shot at winning me over. That's when I bumped into Caribbean Dish... The name got me, yes it's basic, but the title was exactly what I was looking for. The restaurant is in a small unassuming parking lot... if you don't know it's there, you probably will miss it ( so glad I didn't !! ) The minute I walked in, I felt authentic family vibes ( something I look for when choosing my Caribbean locations ) The service was very friendly, and they cleared everything up when I wasn't sure if my particular craving could be fulfilled ( the combo I desired wasn't on their daily menu ) My sights were set on the oxtail and curry goat combo ( of course with rice & peas and veggies ! ) And when I say the goat was tender, and seasoned to perfection... while the oxtails had that juicy meatiness that will for sure keep me coming back. The rice & peas were cooked just right ( texture was on point ) and the veggies still had that freshness that brought everything else together. I love my Caribbean dishes saucy and not dry ( they get two thumbs up in that department ! ) Family vibes, cheerful greeting, and amazing food.... Caribbean Dish you just locked yourself in a loyal customer !!!!! Give them a shot and I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed !!!

This is a take out spot, quaint and CLEAN. Credit card orders incur an additional fee. Anyhoo, I had never heard of this place and funny enough have driven by it so many times. I attempted to call beforehand, but orders are not taken on the phone. I believe there is online ordering available via their site and other food delivery services. I got the curry chicken buss up shut with a side of spinach. Huge portion! Curry is delightful, aloo is perfect, spinach, dope. Buss up shut, better than my Aunties, but don't tell her that...eek! Found out they have lunch specials and I will be back to try more things.

Their HH runs Mon-Fri from 5-7 and include 5-7 cocktails, beer, and wine that they offer at $2ish off the regular price. We stuck with the cocktails and had their Blue Lagoons (which are essentially electric blue vodka lemonades) for $8ish. They were tasty and after 2 of them, we were definitely ready to party. Next time, I want to try the rum punch for $10 - though I noticed the rum punch was premade (vs being made fresh per order). Unfortunately, there are no food offers on the happy hour. The spot was very empty when we arrived, maybe around 5.30p - there was one other couple enjoying time at the bar. Outside of the 8-10 bar seats, they have some lounge level seating, as well as more standard 4-top tables. At the very front of the area, is a small stage where DJ's and karaoke specialists set up. The food was really good; I had the curry chicken plate for $16ish and my girlfriend had the shrimp rasta pasta for $19ish. The food was very flavorful and came out piping hot from the kitchen. I'd get the curry again, for sure. The environment and vibe was the most enjoyable part of my visit; the hip hop and top40's music gave the place a great energy (but wasn't so loud that you couldn't chat. The bartenders were energetic, lively, and friendly. There seemed to be alot of regular patrons who knew each other and the bartenders - that's a really good sign. The star of the show was karaoke which started around 8 (when the bar was getting much more crowded). The karaoke host was great; she kept the group energized and led some karaoke style games and activities that I hadn't seen before. We ended up stay out way longer than expected because we were having such a nice time. I look forward to my next happy hour at JCK. Pro tip: It looks like they have coordinated, promoted parties twice a month on Fridays. And on the other Fridays, they have the 'standard' karaoke nights. Check their IG for the official, promoted parties.

I am no stranger to them, having seen their truck at Savor Bowie almost every single time I've gone. And I've driven by their brick-and-mortar multiple times, but never stopped. This one crossed my radar when my friend invited me to a soca party, and I was like "JCK Bar & Lounge? In Hyattsville? How have I never heard of that?" And now it all makes sense -- some time last year, Jamaican Country Kitchen expanded, and now they've got this place, DJ booth, dance floor, bar, lounge, restaurant, all in one. And I gotta say, it was a vibe. The staff was nice and I loved the decor and feel of the place. Bar was cozy and it was nice to be somewhere this late at night that still served authentic Caribbean food. They have happy hour, so I am going to have to return and get a deep dive on how they feel on a regular weekday after work. And I gotta see how their food compares to my other favorites nowadays!

The crispy kale was fantastic and the mango chutney balances a hint of spice. I got the omnivore paratha tiffin box with tomato Choka and I got roti instead of paratha. Fantastic decision! Great moments! That roti was spectacular! My friend also loved her oxtail. The Charon Beni was my favorite sauce and I enjoyed the heat of the house pepper sauce. The pickled peppers and onions on top were the perfect addition. Coconut rice paired perfectly as well. Crispy kale: 5/5 great flavor with a little chutney on top. Slight spice but not too much. Large portion as a side, definitely shareable. Friend enjoyed the curried chicken bowl though I did not try it! Bread pudding: 2/5. Not the worst I've ever had. But lacked flavor. Dense. Would not order again. Passion fruit spicy margarita was good. I requested light passion fruit. Just enough spice. Service was friendly! Small restaurant so would make reservations, even though it was not packed for my Friday evening dinner. There is a 20% fair wage fee included on all bills. Which states it is "not" the tip. That's pretty significant
