Ok, time for an honest review. The online ordering option was unavailable, so I drove up to the location to order in person. Thankfully they were taking orders in person. I ordered the Nashville catfish and fries with the garlic habanero sauce and a side of honey buffalo sauce. The garlic habanero sauce was more like a paste, the flavor was good on it though, and it was even better when I added some maple syrup to it for a hint of sweetness (trust me, do it). The sandwich even though it had seasoned breading on the fish, and it was cooked well (didn't have that dirty catfish taste) it felt like something was just missing from the sandwich. I waited about 20-25 minutes for my food, which wasn't bad. I really wanted to love this spot, but it was merely mediocre.

Couldn't believe this wasn't as good as I anticipated. The concept and menu options all sounded great but the delivery and finally the food its self was just basic and flavorless. The loaded fries wasn't loaded at all it had maybe one shrimp that had been cut up into several pieces and thrown into it, while the crab meat that it was supposed to come with instead had one tiny bite size crab cake sitting on top which tasted like the ones from the frozen pack at Costco or actually more bland than those. It had more sauce that ingredients and the fries were just sitting rather than made fresh to order so it was chewy rather than crispy. The po boy tasted like a sub from the carry out but with the most dried up bland shrimp thrown into the sandwich. Lettuce was wilted once again just more sauce than anything. Also had the honey buffalo fish wings , let me tell you nothing about those "wings" screamed honey or buffalo taste it's as if it was battered into some store bought fish fry than once fried it was tossed into some kind of sauce that was supposed to pass as "honey butter" and than put on a plate. I never tasted something so dry and once again hate to say but just lacked in flavor like I couldn't finish it. Finally the slaw although it seemed to want to be something different and was edible I felt it lacked some sort of citrus zing to it. Being as though it was supposed to be Cajun it had no mayo for a slaw which is fine but it's as if it was just tossed in something light but still felt like t was missing something more. Hate that I couldn't enjoy much of anything from this establishment but there are other options I'm sure others would be willing to try that might be better.

For the size of the sandwich, the cost was a bit too much! The location was good. Easy to get to and there is a parking garage.

And to say it was underwhelming would be an understatement. I mean this experience might have been worse than the season finale of game of thrones. My wife ordered the oxtails and green jollof rice. First off, the rice tasted like wet grass. The oxtail was a sad excuse for oxtail. For context my wife is Caribbean so I've had my share of delicious oxtail, their oxtail tasted like they simply didn't even try. Now let's get to my food. I ordered the simplest thing on the menu the Steak and Frites. I'll give it to them the frites were pretty decent, but that's where my compliments end. I ordered my steak medium like a decent human being. The first steak came out and tasted like what I imagine an old used tire taste like, it was well done by the way. The next steak that came out 20 minutes later although closer to medium was surprisingly worse. It's was extremely rubbery with zero flavor. All together I would not recommend. The fact they sell this sad excuse for food is baffling. Sincerely, A concerned customer

I got the classic burger with gluten free bun because I couldn't figure out what I wanted. But it was great. I had it with the lemon aioli (it's a lemon garlic aioli. Got the green beans on the side. We tried the bread service as a starter. I think the bread had a soft inside texture but too hard on the exterior. 5/10. We tried two of their bar bites: Sautéed shrimp (5/10) and General Tso Chicken Skewers (7/10). I think the shrimp sauce was bland and the chicken was a fried chicken tender + sauce. We had the Chicken Ceasar salad (8/10) and Braised Short ribs (8/10). The salad was a standard salad and the short ribs were tender. I enjoyed the short ribs with the mashed potatoes and substituted the brussel sprouts with broccoli. I think the broccoli could've been seasoned to improve. We both had two of their $10 specialty cocktails. Both were excellent.

They don't have typical bacon or sausage because "the owners don't eat pork" which really sounds like something more appropriate for their house, and not their restaurant business on Rhode island ave. The "chicken sausage" was a shriveled up piece of chicken paste that they cooked in the microwave. I ordered scrambled eggs, and when they came out, they had that crust that scrambled eggs get when they sit out after being cooked. The grits were lumpy and outside of the cheese sauce they put on the top - had no flavor. The French toast tasted like milk eggs and burnt grill. And the pancakes, were very obviously pre made and microwaved. Additionally - the meal I ordered is listed to come with a bread, eggs, a side and a meat. I asked for bacon, and was told the owners don't eat pork. I asked for the chicken sausage.. 5 minutes later the server asked me if I wanted the sausage spicy or not. Then when she brought the bill, there was a $4 up charge for spicy sausage that she neither told me, nor was it on the menu. And to make matters worse - the sausages were not spicy and were actually just flat out nasty. This is a SAD excuse for a restaurant. I'm sad that I spent calories walking there and dollars eating there.

Everyone greeted us with a smile and offered help as needed. Great hospitality The ambiance is simply unmatched! I felt like I was dining in a beautiful garden home, tucked away from the bustling DC streets. It was peaceful, scenic, and pleasant for date night. I loved the decor! For drinks we ordered: The Terence Espresso Martini- named after a regular at the restaurant, this espresso martini has a fun twist which includes chocolate and cane syrup. It was not sweet at all and oh so delightful to try. From Oaxaca with Love- my boyfriend loved this! He said that the balance between smokiness and spiciness made this a drink worth ordering over and over again. Strawberry lemonade- refreshing and not sweet at all. The only bitterness to this drink is that you are charged $8 extra for the strawberries because this is apparently regular house lemonade which was infused. A little costly sending this single drink over $20-not expected. We had to try the Chef's Choice because very few places offer such a steal at this price. The joy to the deal is that you get to choose how many courses you can enjoy by simply keeping the orders going. We tapped out early because the servings were very generous and some of the dishes swept away our appetite and tummy space lol First: Roasted Oyster (not on menu)- this was a new dish and a creative way to indulge in this aphrodisiac. The oysters were charred to perfection and the accompanying butter lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, turnips, kimchi, and jalapeño made for a fun wrap. The flavors all complemented each other well-I hope this stays on the menu! Chicory Caesar Salad- what a divine salad! Mouthwatering and fresh. There were some crunchy and savory moments while trying it as the Parmesan cheese was evenly distributed throughout the dish. Parker house roll- this roll can go up against any other rolls and win in softness and taste! The spring green garlic butter added another layer to the taste, making this one of the best rolls I've ever had. Second: Ricotta Cavatelli + Little Neck Clams- SO divine. Just when you thought that you met a few favs, here comes this delicious dish. The cook on the Ricotta Cavatelli was perfecto! And the clams, gosh the clams were so so sooooo good. The sauce seeping throughout the dish was dangerously delicious, not too salty. Roasted asparagus- another added favorite and the best asparagus I've had. The cook on this dish was perfection!!!! It wasn't soggy as some asparagus could be but these rather large asparagus had just the right crunch in each bite and the accompanying aioli sauce was scrumptious! Lemon + Thyme Roasted Pennsylvania Chicken- Sadly this was a miss for us and part of that was because we weren't too fond of the taste. There wasn't much flavor profile to carry the chicken but we did enjoy those delicious white kidney beans which were added. Third: A moment of silence please as both of these dishes were award winning!!!!! Served at the same time, we made it a little meal inside the meal and could not stop talking about both dishes. "Autumn Olive Farms" BBQ Pork Chop- the cook on this pork chops could only be mastered by an extraordinary chef! It was divine! Perfectly cooked and bursting with juicy flavors! Gosh this was some incredible pork chops. Cauliflower Risotto- another star! Dangerously good! Just the right cook on the risotto and the cheesiness you could appreciate! The grilled cauliflower was an added touch, making this dish memorable! We concluded our Chef's Choice with "Moon Valley Farm" Carrot Cake. This wasn't too sweet and was a subtle way to end an amazing dining experience. Parking is a bit tough as majority of the surrounding area is residential so it was hard to find parking. Nonetheless, please don't let that stop you from experiencing the beauty of this restaurant and the amazing food that they offer!

At first I was disappointed when I saw they took off my favorite appetizer, so I ordered the Cripsy Calamari Appetizer instead. So as I am waiting my waitress had stopped by twice to ask me if I was ready to put in my entree and every-time I had to tell her no as I haven't even gotten my appetizer yet. This rubbed me the wrong, I felt like I was being rushed and that didn't make sense as this was on a Thursday at 1 pm and the restaurant was practically empty. Now the patio seating was lovely and I truly enjoyed basking in the sun while sipping on my Sauvignon Blanc, I have so many memories from DTS and it was nice to be in the area again. Anyways my Appetizer came and it was sooo good. I loved the fried jalapeños in the mix it really gave a nice kick to my Calamari. I decided to order the Shrimp Tempura Roll which is a new addition to the menu but whew this is where it went left. It was NOT good, drenched in sauce and fish eggs ... and the presentation of the roll looked sloppy and rushed especially considering one roll didn't even have Shrimp in it. There was barely any cucumber inside ... on top of all that they still gave me side dippings too... I ate 1 roll and it was nasty and too much. When I told my waitress I didn't like it and explained why she just said ok and walked away. It was very clear to me she did not care and so it's very clear to me that I won't be going there ever again.

Food wise, I had their grilled oysters, brussel Cesar, fried chicken curry dish, trifle dessert, and sorbet. As a non-seafood person, it was a big deal for me to try their oysters. I started slow with just their grilled oysters. They were drowning in garlic and butter, so it was hard not to like. The Brussel cesar was also a solid shareable. I appreciated that the salad did not come drenched in dressing. The curry friend chicken was phenomenal! The chicken fell of the bone so easily and was so crispy, moist, and overall outstanding. The curry and impossible rice paired perfectly with it. Finally, the desserts! I could have eaten two of the trifle dessert...it was smooth, creamy, and the perfect amount of sweet. It was everyone's favorite between the two. The sorbet was good, but I found the white chocolate a little weird/awkward since it was sitting around a bunch of cold sorbet...didn't melt or mesh well with the dish. It wasn't bad, but I'd try something else next time. Overall, I loved this place. The vibes, staff, and food were amazing. I can't wait to introduce more friends to this gem.
