Everything I had here was quality. My seafood trawler main dish ("boats") was good. It included grilled trout (with skin on); fried shrimp; and baked crabcake (made with jumbo lump crab). I also had the calamari ("small fry") and found it to be excellent--crispy and yet light. I enjoy their cajun coleslaw, a deft touch of heat, not overwhelming. Fries are on point, very good. The cajun remoulade sauce is tasty as is the classic tartar sauce. The chef/owner, Val Charles, took my order, cooked it fresh himself, and brought it to me at a table, with a smile and thanks. Lots of seating is available at the food hall (Mixt Hall) where Big Fish is located. Mixt Hall has a nice atmosphere, features rotating art exhibits. Big Fish occupies the space that West Africa Spice Kitchen used to have. I'll be back.

Ok, time for an honest review. The online ordering option was unavailable, so I drove up to the location to order in person. Thankfully they were taking orders in person. I ordered the Nashville catfish and fries with the garlic habanero sauce and a side of honey buffalo sauce. The garlic habanero sauce was more like a paste, the flavor was good on it though, and it was even better when I added some maple syrup to it for a hint of sweetness (trust me, do it). The sandwich even though it had seasoned breading on the fish, and it was cooked well (didn't have that dirty catfish taste) it felt like something was just missing from the sandwich. I waited about 20-25 minutes for my food, which wasn't bad. I really wanted to love this spot, but it was merely mediocre.

Couldn't believe this wasn't as good as I anticipated. The concept and menu options all sounded great but the delivery and finally the food its self was just basic and flavorless. The loaded fries wasn't loaded at all it had maybe one shrimp that had been cut up into several pieces and thrown into it, while the crab meat that it was supposed to come with instead had one tiny bite size crab cake sitting on top which tasted like the ones from the frozen pack at Costco or actually more bland than those. It had more sauce that ingredients and the fries were just sitting rather than made fresh to order so it was chewy rather than crispy. The po boy tasted like a sub from the carry out but with the most dried up bland shrimp thrown into the sandwich. Lettuce was wilted once again just more sauce than anything. Also had the honey buffalo fish wings , let me tell you nothing about those "wings" screamed honey or buffalo taste it's as if it was battered into some store bought fish fry than once fried it was tossed into some kind of sauce that was supposed to pass as "honey butter" and than put on a plate. I never tasted something so dry and once again hate to say but just lacked in flavor like I couldn't finish it. Finally the slaw although it seemed to want to be something different and was edible I felt it lacked some sort of citrus zing to it. Being as though it was supposed to be Cajun it had no mayo for a slaw which is fine but it's as if it was just tossed in something light but still felt like t was missing something more. Hate that I couldn't enjoy much of anything from this establishment but there are other options I'm sure others would be willing to try that might be better.

For the size of the sandwich, the cost was a bit too much! The location was good. Easy to get to and there is a parking garage.

I was craving sides, and this place has tons of them. What I found during this experience was it was more quantity over quality. Everything was just kind of mushy and didn't really have a lot of flavor or taste. The best thing out of all of the five sides I ordered was the macaroni and cheese, and I had to add quite a bit of seasoning to make it palatable. The cheesy potatoes threw me, because there was no cheesiness to them. Also, the home fries were the same as the cheesy potatoes, so that meant to big piles of tasteless mush--hot sauce made it better. Also, there had to have been over a cup of onions combined in this box. I nibbled because I was hungry and sadly threw away the rest because I just couldn't eat it. I ordered the crab soup, and that was delicious. I would say though that the small size for the price paid is very questionable. As this was delivery, I can't be on service or ambience. Given my experience, I would not order again.

I think $38.99 is a fair price for all you can eat. I like that the portions are small so too much is not wasted. This was also my first encounter with the delivery robot. That was cool. I don't like that it has other people's food on it though. I was sitting close to the kitchen so my food didn't have to travel too far but, I wouldn't want my food traveling across the room and making stops at multiple tables before getting to me. I'm from the South and I need a bit of flavor so I did add Salt and Pepper to the items while cooking. The salad dressing had no flavor. I ended up using the yum yum sauce as a dressing. The dumplings were good. The cucumber salad was also good. My favorite hot item was the steak and shrimp. The brisket was mostly fat and the thin pork belly was like Prosciutto. My only suggesting is serving the noodles closer to when the hot items are ready. They get stiff if they just sit. Oh, and I think you need separate tongs for seafood, pork, chicken, and beef. I was worried about cross contaminating. I'd try this again.
