Let me start by saying my nail tech Kim did a fabulous job. I got the pink fill on my pink and whites and you cant even see the line from the old set. I am not one to speak up when there are things wrong, but since I have a 'hard on nails' week ahead, I made sure all of my concerns were addressed and she did what I asked without the 'DIS OK' (throws hand up) attitude. Love her. And the salon itself is really clean. A huge plus. The cost was extremely reasonable/standard. When I checked out the guy told me if there was anything wrong to come back and they'll fix. That is great customer service! The cons- HEAVY bass thumping rap music was playing really loud the entire time. Like, not RnB, top 40 rap, but serious rap. I was directed to station 6. Some guy was totally laid back at a pedi chair. It was my first time there so I looked to see where the stations were numbered and he said 'ONE, TWO, THREE..' Ok, got it dude. After some light convo with the tech I asked HER if they were opened 7 days and the guy yells 'NO WE'RE OPEN 8 DAYS'. Ok d-bag. This guy clearly works there, owns the place, not sure but he is obviously a fixture. All in all, come for the good nails but not the ambiance. I am not a music snob by any means but I could do with a little variety for the 45 minutes I'm there. What can I say about Lovely Nails... I've been coming here (off and on, I'm the epitome of lazy) for about 7 years. I have always seen Andy. He is MARVELOUS. Soooo sweet, so patient, and so detail-oriented. If he feels something isn't quite right, he fixes it without being asked. I've never been made to feel stupid with him like with some other techs. If i short i want ahort oval nails, thats what I get. Picrure of a design? No problem. (All the guys are here are very sweet, really. They're young and goofy, but so am I, so I don't get my knickers in a bunch when they play hip-hop or goof off. As to the ladies, I cannot comment as none of them have ever worked on me.) But alas, Andy is gone. He is off making something of himself in the bay area and here I am, lost and confused with ratchet nails and mechanic's cuticles. So, last time I saw Tommy. I've had him do my nails once before and I wasn't terribly impressed then, but it was a quick fill and I had stupidly asked for a short square-round nails because I didn't trust anyone but Andy to get my normal shape right. They were whatevs. So this time, I go in thinking, Okay, he is the owner, he's related to Andy so they share a genetic predisposition for accuracy and gentleness.... Nope. My cuticles were neglected, the shape was uneven and was...triangular... not oval (and he fought with me to even get that far, saying "short oval can't be done" - uhhhh). When I asked for a matte topcoat, he kind of rolled his eyes and sighed that I was being high maintenance. It's a top coat! Same as anything! Maybe he thinks because Andy, Dee, and I all used to josh around that he can joke with me like that, but sorry, I'm not down. I left feeling like a dope, unsatisfied and now surfing Yelp at 12 at night to find a new salon. I already dislike getting my nails done. I don't enjoy taking a random hour of time to devote to this. I can't stand nail salons that have no idea what they are doing. Let me start. 1. Didn't use a cuticle softener 2. Didn't push my cuticles back 3. Trimmed my cuticles for maybe 5 seconds. I had to tell him to go back, and even then it was pointless. 3. Didn't buff my nails. And barely filed them. 4. The shape is stupid and crooked. If I have to tell you how to do your job don't be in the business. I question whether or not my guy even has a legit license because my 8 year old niece could do a better job. So tired of all these salons not knowing what they are doing. Save your money and go else where. Id give them no stars if I could. I've been coming here to Tommy for a long time, close to 6 years. I've tried other places a few times when I'm not in town but Tommy is the best. I've taken my girlfriend to Dee also and he does an amazing job. They are so much fun to be around, always fit me in even if it's last minute and my nails always look fabulous. $25 for a pedi, $15 for manicure, $15 more for gel polish, and $5 more for an extra color/design. Service was great and the staff speaks english! So easy to communicate with them. I was a little disappointed in the gel polish though. They ended up having to do it twice because the first color I picked kept wrinkling when under the lamp. Anoi was very accommodating and let me choose a different color. The color was better, but still three of my nails still have a few wrinkles in it. I've never had that happen before with gel polish. Maybe they need to buy new ones? Don't know if I'll get gel again from there, but everything else was great. I went mid-day so it wasn't busy and they had time to tend to me and didn't rush through the leg and foot massage. Anoi did an incredible massage. It was so needed. I came in the day before I left for my honeymoon to get a pedicure and gel nails. I told the guy I was going on my honeymoon and he did take his time to try and give me a good outcome.. I believe he was brand new. He globbed the toenail polish on so thick that by day 3 of my honeymoon each toenail polish piece has fallen off (like in one thick piece per toe). My gel nails started to peel by day 2 and by day 5 I had nothing left on my fingers. I was really upset. I spent SO much money (I believe it was about $65-$70) for both with tip and neither my pedi or mani lasted more than 4 days. It was an awful experience and a total and complete waste of money. I am so so pleased with my experience today! I had "Dee double e with the g unit out back" haha. He was phenomenal. He was meticulous and paid incredible attention to detail. I walked in on Christmas Eve and immediately felt very comfortable, I was greeted by everyone with a smile and Tommy welcomed me in like I had known him for years. The entire staff was very laid back but also very professional. You could tell that everyone really loved what they did and where they worked, it was just an overall very good environment! I am not used to a man doing my nails- but Tommy was WONDERFUL!! He also had me laughing the entire time- it was so relaxing after a long day of teaching- I've been back 3 more times and it's the same EVERY TIME - I love Tommy and he has great prices and always wants to make you happy!! So I have not visited this salon in over a year because my nail tech Andy no longer works there. He has a completely new career in the bay area. So I went on a long hunt to find a new nail tech and salon with reasonable prices. Andy always hooked me up, but since he was gone I just couldn't see paying the higher normal price to get my nails and toes done there anymore. Prices here have always been slightly higher than other salons. Well last weekend my friend and I wanted to get a pedi as a last minute idea. The current nail place that I go to and Love had no openings that day to get us in for a basic pedi. So I suggested that we go to Lovely nails if they had any openings, and they did! So we both thought great! When I did go there before they always did a great job with pedicures no matter who did them. So based on my previous experience of being a long time client in the past, we went there. Same friendly faces were there, however the work not so good. My friend and I both got a basic pedicure and both got a simple design on our toes. Well the pedicure lasted 30 min from start to polish. I know we had a basic pedicure but anywhere else it lasts at least 45 min with more than a 2 - 3 min massage on each foot. We both felt like it was rushed. The toe nails were cut uneven and crooked, the polish was semi sloppy and the designs were pathetic. We could have given each other a much better pedicure and painted each others toe nails much better. My friend had them paint a lady bug on her big toes, and I wanted just a simple white chevron print on both big toes and both ring toes. Her lady bug turned out cute, but they did rush us while we were sitting at the nail drying table with the UV nail dryers. Because of that my friends design and polish on ONLY her big toe smudged off 2 hours later. My chevron print looked sloppy, the lines were not crisp and were uneven. (Again like I stated above we could have done a much better design ourselves or each other) So I asked the tall thin guy if he could pls re-do it because even though I had a pic the lady that did my toes didn't even know how to do the simple design. He agreed that it didn't look that good so he re-did the design. But really he didn't, he just repainted/ traced over the lines. He needed to remove the polish and start fresh, because there was no way to fix the horrible job the previous lady did. At that point I could tell why even bother asking him to pls actually re paint them and do the simple lines again because my friend and I totally got the vibe that they wanted us in and out and didn't care if we were happy or not. I don't know why they rushed our pedicures, we were very polite friendly and nice. Only thing we could think of was because I no longer get my nails done there and maybe they held a little resentment towards me because of that. They were not busy either. We are both paying customers, so regardless the fact that I'm no longer a regular they still should have been professional and proceeded to do a good job like they would do with any other paying customer. My friend and I will never return again and will next time in the future plan ahead and schedule a appt at Sunrise nails a couple days in advance to get the excellent quality pedicure that we pay for and deserve. Our toes were not worth the $30 for a basic pedi and simple design. I could have gone to Sunrise nails where im currently a happy regular or a couple other places that I know of and could have received not only a better job, but paid $5-$10 less as well. We would not have cared about paying the slightly higher price then other salons if they did a good job and not rush us. Only reason why I'm not giving them one star is because they did not hurt or cut our toes. read more

Sadly, started out AWESOME... ended poorly...I wanted a full french acrylic, and they accomodated me, even tho they were busy. The guys chatted well enough. The girls did not speak much English. When I broke 2 nails on the set, they did replace them, but it seemed weird that so many would break. During the fill, I wanted a little flower, and they said sure, but the girl who did my fill must not have understood, and never gave mei it. When washing my hands, the space by the waste basket was very dirty and looked as if it had not been swept in a long time. The 3rd nail broke and they could not fit me in for a full replacement, so I decided to yelp other places. The good: the guys are very nice and friendly. They seem to know what they are doing. The bad the girls do not seem to understand English and it wasn't as clean as I would like. read more

Came here on a Friday morning to get a French pedicure and a Gel manicure. KIM was such a nice lady. She did a great job on my toes. The French pedi looked GREAT. My Gel manicure on the other hand was horrible! First off she got the color all over the place and the color was spotty. Didn't look even at all. That evening my nails were already pealing and coming off. By day three most nails came completely off. I paid $65 (including a tip) for everything. Way to expensive. Especially for a HORRIBLE gel manicure. I want a Nail Salon who is good at it all.. Not just a French pedicure. Not going to be returning. read more
