I visited Lovely Nails for the first time a couple of weeks ago and got a no-chip pedicure. The polish chipped within a day and a half. I decided not to return. A few days later, I noticed the nail tech had cut my nails in a way that caused them to curve in, leading to infections in both my big toes within a week. I've been in pain since and now need to see a doctor because the infection hasn't subsided. I called the salon to inform them and requested to speak to the manager. The man who answered said the manager was not there and insisted I come in so they could see my toes before I went to the doctor. I explained that I just wanted to inform the manager about what happened to prevent it from happening to others, whether due to poor training or dirty tools, and that I did not want anything in return. I asked him to take my information and have the manager contact me when available. He then said, "OKAY BYE," without taking my info and hung up. I'm writing this review because I'm not sure my concern was or will be conveyed to the business owner, who I hope would want to know about this issue to rectify the problem for future patrons. This is not to be malicious but to warn others that this could happen to you, and you might want to consider a different salon. I've been getting my nails done regularly for years and wanted to find a new salon near my new home. This was my experience. Please don't go here this has gotten so bad. My toes are now bruised underneath my nail and all growing weird. Ps:Edited to show proof I went there and date because they keep deleting my review. (I also got my nails done but that was the a different tech. The one who did my pedicure was a male) Update from DR: it is Paronychia in the medial nail in both toes. This is confirmed to be due to poor practice of the tech. Have to be on antibiotics for 7 days before next check in. Save yourself a DRs visit. Do NOT go here.

This is a really convenient location, and the nail technicians are really professional, as well as kind. My feet feel really soft after they took a razor to it, and the painting job looks great. Will definitely definitely come back.

    Gel manicure at 7 days

I had an appointment on Friday Nov 17 for gel nail manicure and pedicure. The appointment process was easy and service on time with friendly staff. Unfortunately, the gel nails only lasted one week with chips on the tips and sides of 4 nails within a week by the following Friday.

I love when I can walk in to a salon and get a pedicure without an appointment! First time trying this place. Natalie pays attention to details and is compassionate about my hypersensitive jumpiness to touch. Salon is clean. In and out in 30 minutes and they look great! I believe they only take Zelle, Venmo or cash.

2nd visit. Wish I could give 4.5 stars because I was very satisfied but there was room for improvement. The place was clean but could use some interior updates to make the place more interesting and welcoming. I came in and the women nearest the front entrance, behind the front counter barely said two words to me. A friendlier greeting would have been nice. The pedicure itself was great. An older gentleman was my technician. He hardly spoke a word to me but that's okay... It gave me a chance to read the latest Star magazine cover to cover. It's the only chance I get to indulge and read trash mags. I like that he asked to use a razor on my heels which I know may not be the best for them... But my heels were jacked! The only thing I can complain about is that he was a bit sloppy on my big toe... Check out pix. The price was very reasonable... considering I got a hot towel treatment and an exfoliating calf/foot scrub. $25. Would recommend. I couldn't give them 5 stars for the few "needs improvement" comments I made above... But I will definitely come again.

This place is located in a strip mall along Maple ave. I saw someone commented it looks shady...I can see that. Anyways, this place is nothing but. Staff is really nice and warm. Nothing fancy but they do get the job done!! I can see why this place has many great reviews. No-chip mani with pedicure is $60. I love the scrub on my legs and feet. I have really bad callouses so it's great to have my sole feel soft!

The left picture is what I asked for, the right is unfortunately what I got.

I'm VERY upset with my visit this time. I never get designs, but found something I liked. When I arrived for my appointment I showed the picture of what I wanted and asked if they could do it. I was told yes. I said "are you sure? I can choose something else if you cant its ok." I was again told yes. Low and behold after my base is put on, they can not in fact do the design I wanted. I'm a loyal customer and have been for 3 years. Why couldn't you just be honest with me? Now I have to go pay a different salon to have this removed because its hideous. Smh. I'm SO disappointed and feel betrayed.

The "flame art nails" they gave me

I get my acrylic nails done every two weeks back at home at a very good nail salon so I know what quality looks like... With that being said, I am not from around this area so I asked one of my friends for nail shop recommendations that are really good with nail art designs. She said they were good at designs so I took her word. I showed several employees the picture of the nails I wanted and they all said okay, that they could do it and had me sit down with an older man. He was very rough when doing my cuticles and made most of them bleed. The shape of my nails were terrible since he barely shaped them up. When getting to the design, it was TERRIBLE! It was nothing like what I asked for and if the staff knew they weren't able to do this design they should have said so instead of scamming me out of money. The polish was chunky and the art he did looked very sloppy. When paying the older gentleman told me it was $32 so I said to charge me $40 and he said "$42, okay," and I then said "no $40" and said four, zero so there would be no confusion. He did not listen to what i said and went ahead and charged me the $42 when the nails should have been free. I will not be returning to this nail salon!!

Stopped in last night as a coworker got me a gift card - I'm 7 months pregnant so was in desperate need of some pampering! I met with Yeona who was the sweetest and she did an amazing job on my pedicure and no chip!! I wanted something very classic and she picked out the perfect color and the length was perfect - beyond obsessed and will def be back!

I really have to hand it to these guys. From the outside, this place looks like it'll be a grade-A dive, but once you give them a shot, I'd say they're nothing short of remarkably outstanding. I started coming here for their no-chip manicure, of which they offer the largest color selection that I have EVER seen. There must be damn near 200 no-chip color options and they aren't all just the plain old boring red, pink, and nudes like you see at so many places. I've only come here twice but even so, I feel like the ladies are less like employee and more like good friends who are nice enough to touch my feet. Inside looks like any run-of-the mill suburban strip mall nail salon. It's clean, it's not posh, but it's comfortable and I like it a lot. The worst thing I can say about the place is that the parking lot for this whole strip mall is kind of a crap shoot, but that's not exactly their fault. On my last visit I got a pedicure here and I'll spare you the gory details, but it had been a looong time since my last pedi and in that absence from foot spa-ing I also had a toe injury that cause for pretty gross bruising and nail loss on one of my toes. When I called to make my appointment (which isn't necessary, but I like to call ahead when I'm on my way just to make sure) I felt the need to over-explain my weird toe situation and the girl on the phone and who did my pedicure was super cool about it and made me feel better about it by saying that it wasn't bad at all... which I know was a lie, but whatever. I'll take what I can get. Plus, she did such an amazing job that now my crazy crushed toe looks back to normal now. Yeah for being able to wear sandals again... in 4 months when it maybe gets nice again in Chicago. My no-chips here are basically perfection. Perfect length, perfect color, perfect cuticles, just gorgeous work that lasts and lasts. Prices are on point with what you'd pay anywhere else and in an area with sooo many other nails salons around, I can see no reason to think twice about which one I'll be patronizing.

It looked clean and modern. They played cooking shows on the TV screens, which I enjoy. I was seated at a pedicure chair right away and given a choice of colors for my gel manicure and regular pedicure. I did ask to ensure that they would not use the electric sander on my nails. I was quite pleased to find that they never use that for gel nails, a policy that I wish more salons would adopt. There were only two customers when I arrived, but people began to shuffle in during the time I was there. The pedicure was fine. I appreciate that they did not try to upsell me, but I do think it would have been nice to have more services such as a bit more of a massage or some more scrubs. It was quite basic and I wasn't offered other options. I was then moved to the manicure table after the pedicure was complete. Like the pedicure, it went by quite quickly. Not that it is necessary, but the staff really made no attempt to have a conversation at all. I'm OK with it, but they could have come across a little friendlier. No one was rude at all, but it just wasn't the warmest environment. As far as the manicure, I liked the color, but the gel dried unevenly with a few bumps here and there which annoyed me. Also it just wasn't quite the length or shape that I requested. All in all, I was glad that they were able to get me in and it was a decent service at a reasonable price. However, I do feel that the services were quite basic and it wasn't the best looking manicure that I've had.

He was a great salesman without being pushy at all, it felt genuine, not forced. I ended up getting an herbal pedicure and acrylic fills on both my hands and feet, and everything was top tier. Randy did my acrylics and was super quick but still very precise -- you can tell he knows what he's doing. I wish I got the name of the woman who did my pedicure because she was AMAZING. The herbal pedi was honestly one of the best I've had. It included hot stones, paraffin wax, and even this candle wax they melt and rub into your skin throughout the process -- it felt sooo good and left my skin super soft. The massage chair is a whole experience on its own (it even massages your bottom ), and the overall vibe of the salon is very peaceful and relaxing. They also have a huge selection of colors to choose from, which I love. Prices were very reasonable, and they offered bottled water which was a nice touch. During the service, the technician applied so much pressure while working on my nails that I began bleeding and experienced severe pain. I told her that I was in pain, but the service continued, including on my other nails, while I was visibly uncomfortable and shaking. I am still experiencing significant pain today. After the service, I felt that the technician was rude and dismissive when I was trying to pay. I also asked if I could apply lotion or something to help soothe the pain, but I was not allowed to do so. I was also surprised to see a tip added to my total, which increased the amount by approximately $40 compared with what we normally pay. Because I was still in significant pain and overwhelmed by the situation, I did not feel able to argue about the charge or request a refund at the time. What makes this especially disappointing is that I had been a loyal customer for months and had already given the salon another chance after previous experiences that left me feeling disrespected. Unfortunately, this was the third time I have had an issue with the way I was treated, and this experience was the final straw. I hope the salon takes this feedback seriously. Customers should feel safe, respected, and comfortable during a service, especially when they communicate that they are experiencing pain. Based on my experience, I will not be returning
