This was my 2nd and last time coming here. I had about a 2 minute massage on my gel Pedicure. Then I had dip and wanted them removed and a regular manicure. Since I only got a basic manicure I get stuck with a charge for the removal of the dip. That is ridiculous. Also has a sign because of high charges for credit cards recommends using cash no mention of a charge for using a card. However when you go to pay they charge you $1 for using card. There are plenty of nail shops so will not be returning. Some shops just love to over charge. read more

I'm giving one star for the nail polish color I picked out. Where do these reviews come from??? My review is lengthy, but worth it. So I saw the "great" reviews and decided to try a new place for my Birthday. I called to ask for a price for mani-pedi and was told it would be 27.00. I thought it was a good price and came in. I mentioned to the man that it was my birthday and also a lady who I think was his daughter. Neither seemed to care less. But this was the least of my worries to come. I told the man that did my mani that I did not want him to cut out my ingrown toenails because on one toe it was sensitive and swollen in that area. I pointed to the area. He said okay. Then he took his tool and pulled it out anyway. I cannot tell you how much that hurt. I told him, "Ouch! That really hurt and I asked you not to touch that area!" He seriously laughed and then, seriously, WIPED the ingrown toenail on the top of my leg right above my knee and said, "yeah, yeah, look! No big deal!" WTF!! It doesn't end there. During the "massage," he rubs a warm rock on my left leg but not on my right. He never got any of the worn part of my heels buffed out. I'd have better luck buying a sheet of sand paper at home depot. Next, when I was sitting in the massage chair, he then shuts it off abruptly without even asking me! I thought that was part of the price. He then tells me to go sit at the manicure table. After all this crap that already happened, I thought I better confirm the price with the lady. Sure enough, she tells me it will be $51.00 plus tax. I told her that is not what she told me over the phone for the mani-pedi package. She said that is because I got a sparkly color so its more. I was never notified and it didn't show on the color wheel. Then she asked me, "Come on, what's the big deal. Why wouldn't you get both done?" I said, "Because I want to spend my money on other stuff!" The flower design done on my nails looked totally opposite than what was on the color wheel. I also asked for the flowers to be on the bottom part of my big toe nail. When it came time to pay my $31.00, which was for the pedi only since I was lied to about pricing, she seemed to stand there expecting a tip. Ha! I walked out with my toe in pain, the bottom of my feet unchanged, ridiculous looking flowers painted on my toes, and my hands not done. I will not be back!!! read more

The owner, Kim was very rude, & in front of others. She tends to do the nails in uneven lengths, when I pointed that out, & asked nicely to correct this, she flipped out on me. I let the uneven nail lengths & the lifting go a few times because, I sensed she may get upset, but enough is enough. If you ask her to correct a mistake or 2 on a fill, watch out, she a lots you 20-30 mins, if it takes longer, you get 'attitude', she blames you for being to picky, all she really cares about is her $ bottom line. My new favorite place for a pedi! It was pedicure time and I was looking for somewhere close to where I was located...so used Yelp and voila Lovely Nails!! I called and was told I could get in in 15-20 mins. Perfect! It was a full house when I arrived but they stayed true to their word on timing. I walked in and used some of my wait time to select a polish. So many great choices! Massage chairs were awesome and my pedi was perfect! Kim (the lovely owner) gave me my pedicure and it was my favorite pedi to date. My heels feel so nice and smooth! This is my new go-to place. Experienced and talented in all the services they offer, each person who is part of this team is extremely valuable and customer service oriented. The selection of polish has grown and the nail art that I've seen other's come out of the salon with is beautifully done. I've stuck with the pink and white French tip Manicure as my dress code at work tends to be very conservative and classy. Consistently Kim does a very beautiful job, and my natural nails have grown so long that there are no longer artificial tips on my nails! I've had one backfill since I switched to the Pink and White, and they still look perfect and brand new. I get compliments all the time about how lovely my nails look. My new favorite place. Asked Kim for gel builder on my natural nails. Not many people get it but I love it. She includes the shellac with it at no extra cost!!!! She only took 45 minutes from beginning to end. It usually takes a nail tech almost 3 hours. I was very happy with the shaping of the nails and the layering of builder. I did have a slight set back by the design. being a simple spider web, she was in such a hurry to get to the next person, I had to ask her to fix it. I felt awkward asking. If she slowed down it would have been perfect. Next time I'll ask Kim to put my appointment for longer than usual so she can slow down on the design. Do not go here super expensive for not good quality got a brand new set w diamonds and glitter a nail broke 2 days later and the diamonds were already coming off the next day! I decided to try it again after i got a fill once before because it was close to my job but it was a mistake. I usually go to Paris nails on broadway and I'm glad I now know to stay loyal!! I would not recommend this place! Without going into too much detail, I will just say that I have been here 2 to 3 times and while I have never been terribly impressed, my most recent visit on Saturday was the worst. What was the problem? Well, first off the water they had me soak my feet in was tepid and not hot. The older man who did my pedicure was not paying attention to what he was doing and was more interested in talking to his coworkers then he was in massaging my feet. The next day I woke up with a rough patches on my heels so he clearly did not do a good job removing the dead skin. Then for my manicure the younger man who did my nails did not speak even a shred of English so I could not tell him what I wanted without having one of the other girls translate for me. I had to remind him that buffing my nails and applying lotion was part of my manicure because he asked for payment before doing either of those things. I will not be going here again. I'm from Texas and in Tucson visiting my folks. Slammed my fingers in the car door, ruined my manicure and was desperate for a nail salon. Found reviews on yelp and gave Lovely Nails a try since it was close. Wow! What luck! I called ahead for an appt. and figured I'd treat myself to a pedi too. Tommy did my pedi then Kim did my nails. The Pedi was gentle and relaxing. Kim put on a new full set of nails. Great job! She is a perfectionist so no bits of nail or polish left hanging. I asked her for something fun as a design for the holidays and she put snowflakes and ribbons and bows in red to match my toes! I posted a picture. This is one of the most outstanding nail jobs I've ever had - and I've had many, many! I highly recommend this salon. Thanks Kim for my new set of nails. Kim is the friendly owner. I got a ombré partial almond mid/length and they look great-and she knows how to do them fast. I think my disappointment is that 2 minutes went into prep. The nails weren't cleaned, buffed, the cuticles were overgrown-so I think after 2 weeks I better have them removed. So my original review was wonderful. BUT now it's been 7 days and 3 nails have broken. All broken for no reason, one just popped off when I was in bed. The others broke when I was opening a cereal box. These are so obviously not gel and were not done properly. I've had my nails done every two weeks for years and never had an issue like this. Hadn't been here in a while and stopped in to get my nails fixed up. They were quite a mess as I was over due for a fill and had broken off two acrylics. They fit me in super quick and did an amazing job. I had the acrylics removed and a gel color on in 1 hr. I went to Lovely Nails while visiting Tucson after reading all of the positive reviews on Yelp. Even if I lived in the Tucson area, I would not come back to this place. I get a mani/pedi about every 4 weeks. I have lived many places and tried many different nail salons in my life. This was not a good experience. I called for an appointment and they were able to get me in right away. Parking was easy and abundant. The pedicure chairs are too close together and hard to maneuver into/out of between the clients and the staff. Not to mention the fact that they practically pushed me into the chair while I still had my shoes/socks on and there was very little room to remove my shoes since the bowl was already full of water. If I was any less flexible, it would have been a disaster. Thank you, yoga. I wasn't offered a menu of services. I happened to spy a pedicure menu somewhat hidden and asked for a particular pedicure. There was a significant communication barrier between myself and the very nice man who was working on my toes. That wasn't necessarily a problem, but it was strange that I was asking them if I could give them more money. I had gel on my toes, and the man doing my pedicure didn't let them soak enough and was scraping to a level of discomfort. Then, the additional grinding with the Dremel after the scraping made me wonder if I was going to have any nail left at all. I had to ask them if I could pick a color. Let me repeat that. I had to ask THEM if I could pick a color. There was confusion. Two people came over to help. Maybe it's because I wanted a gel pedicure? The gel selection I was given (2 books) was minimal compared to what I'm used to, but I was able to find a color. I don't know, but I have never been to a nail salon where I had to ask so many questions. They don't replace the plastic liner between clients, they reuse them. As a germaphobe nurse, this really made me gag and want to leave immediately. I didn't see their cleaning process until it was too late. Something else that grossed me out is when he needed to move the chair closer. He stopped working on my feet, used his gloved finger to push the button on the remote to move the chair forward, then went back to working on my feet. After buffing the rough skin off my feet, the man shook the towel on the floor and put it back. Is that gross to anyone else? While applying the gel color, the man seemed uncomfortable. He was a bit shakey. Everything took twice as long as it normally does. It made me uncomfortable - not knowing how it was going to turn out. He put the light on top of the freshly-painted nails twice, then had to try to fix it. The end-result was aesthetically satisfactory, but the sanitation problems were enough to make me question the whole experience. It also took over an hour and half. For those who are thinking I'm a prissy, high-maintenance person with standards that are too high, I'm not. If you're thinking, "that's exactly what a prissy, high-maintenance person would say"; you're wrong. I do have high expectations for cleanliness. I'm so sad that I'm updating my review to something less than what I had previously raved about. I had seen Kim a handful of times for fills after my first initial full acrylic set she did that I loved. After having to stop getting my nails done for a while to save $, I decided to start up again and went back to her for another full set. My appointment was at 5:30, at the tail end of their evening. I knew this when I booked my appointment but didn't think it would be an issue. I got there a little early, Kim took me early and we got started. Maybe 15-20 mins into my nails, another client of hers came in with a friend who was also needing fills and a pedicure. Kim mentioned while I had been there that one of her techs had quit, which left them a bit short handed. At this point in my full set, I'm usually told to wash my hands and we would get to painting. Wrong. No hand washing. Barely any buffing. A step or two of shaping was skipped in my set, something I would definitely notice since I've had my nails done more times than I care to admit. She got right to painting and I didn't even have a chance to ask to pay before the painting of my nails started. I wasn't even aware of what was happening until she started painting my nails. I was kind of annoyed. I don't think it's fair that I need to be rushed and steps must be skipped so you can get to your next client before you close. It was not my fault that they were short staffed and therefore I had to receive a less than great service. Two weeks later, my nails had all fallen off. I'm sad because after my initial visits my expectations were high. I'll have to find another nail place. read more

After reading such great reviews I decided to give this place a try. I had high hopes that I was going to find my new nail place since it was relatively close to my house. I decided to have a manicure and pedicure and I also found a $5 off coupon on double take deals which was great. The manicure and pedicure was pretty good the only thing is that they filed my toes down instead of cut them, not a big deal. When my nails were done drying I went to pay and told the gentleman working I had the coupon and showed him on my phone. He asked Kim and she said I would have to print it. Right on my screen it shows redeem now and gives them a code to use. I thought it was ridiculous and will not be returning. There are plenty of other nail salons. read more

I've come here a couple times for both gel manicures and now dipped manicures over the past 6 months and have always had someone different (not Kim). They're quick to get you in, even without an appointment, but definitely aren't speedy (90 or so minutes for a gel manicure, longer for dipped). My last dipped manicure chipped after 12 days, which made me sad since usually I can go closer to 3 weeks. I made my last appointment with Kim - which is a total game changer. I did come in with bare nails, but she had me out the door in 40 minutes with a beautiful dipped manicure. Just got back from hiking Havasupai Falls and I was absolutely terrible to my hands. Backpacking, hiking, climbing in the mountains/cliffs, swimming, dirt and rocks everywhere and my nails still LOOK AMAZING. I never want to leave Kim. She is worth scheduling with! read more

Kim is great at what she does - Unfortunately, the other employees fall short sometimes. I had requested candy cane striped nails for Christmas and showed a photo to the man who was doing my nails. He agreed willingly and asked me to show him the photo a few times through out painting him. They turned out comically bad and I was horrified! I went straight home and removed them.
