It was difficult processing the thought of having to let our Kaia girl cross the rainbow bridge. We have previously used Lap of Love for our 16 year old year old yorkie and had a great experience under a very sad circumstance. We appreciate everything you've done and allowed Kaia to remain at home with us. Lap of Love made this very difficult time stress free and demonstrated true compassion for our grieving family. Thank you Dr Ruthie for explaining the process and allowing us the time we needed to say goodbye. You are a true professional.

I really appreciated the people I spoke to over the phone when asking questions about the whole procedure and setting up the appointment because they were very supportive and respectful. Dr. Renee was amazing. Very sweet to my baby girl on her final day with us and she was comfortable and peaceful in her passing. They offer a complimentary clay paw print and Dr. Renee was able to shave some hair for me. It was a quick procedure and Dr. Renee ensured that she was in no pain during the procedure and she was safe when being taken away. I chose to do private cremation and was able to pick up the ashes from the crematory after a few days. I've had to euthanize previous dogs before but this was my first time using Lap of Love and I thought the whole process was perfect for my old gal.

I filled out the form on Friday night and booked an appointment for Sunday evening. They sent a follow-up email stating that they would call to confirm the appointment, and that if they weren't able to reach me to confirm details, they would need to cancel/reschedule the appointment. I replied back that I had to work on Saturday morning, and if it'd be possible to call not during those hours (so I could try to remain a non-functional mess at work), I'd really appreciate it. They actually called me that same night at 11pm and were so patient with me through my mess of tears. On the day of, Dr. Parsley called about an hour prior to give me an ETA and appeared right on time. She offered comfort, explained the process on what to expect, allowed time for questions, and gave us the time we needed to say goodbye. She took a clay impression of Muffin's mixed toebeans + a clipping of her fluffs for me to keep, and also gave us some more time while she went out to get Muffin's basket ready + I was able to carry her to her car to "see her off." It was the most peaceful transition I could have asked for, and I was able to hold Muffin in my arms throughout the process. The email she sent me the day afterward offered support + also showed she really listened/cared, and I received a card in the mail from her as well. I'd chosen to have Muffin cremated so per my request, Lap of Love sent her back to my vet so I could pick her up from there. My world is feeling a lot emptier, but this is the best I could've hoped for given the circumstances. Thank you for being there and for everything you do.

We made her as comfortable as we could, injected fluids in her everyday, and she had strings of good days, but then on Christmas Eve, her body just couldn't take it anymore. I got referred to Dr. Van Horn and his services from a family member and a couple of friends, and my wife and I are so glad that there are angels on earth in the form of Dr. Van Horn, Zayn, and Jennifer. They were all incredibly kind, compassionate, and professional and in spite of having to play phone tag and change the day of our appointment a couple of times. It's not easy at all to do what Dr. Van Horn did, but he did so with the most calm, kind, and understanding heart. He explained everything to us very clearly and even went so far as to share things about himself and stories about his pets to help us through things. He was so patient and gave us all the time we needed to say what we needed to say. He was gentle with her and helped her not suffer any longer. Kara was in excellent hands with Dr. Van Horn, and I highly recommend him if you are in need of services for your pet in their last moments. It was the most peaceful day, spending time with our Kara on the couch on Christmas Eve, and having Dr. Van Horn help ease her passing, and now we're so relieved that our kitty doesn't have to suffer any longer. Dr. Van Horn even went so far as to make himself available to us if we needed someone to talk to in the future, and if I ever see him in the city, I would gladly go up to him and say hi. I consider him family based on how kind and gentle he was to our Kara. Thank you so much, Dr. Van Horn, and all of your associates, for helping our last moments with Kara be so loving and meaningful!

Having to say goodbye to our sweet Mini Australian Shepherd, Magic, was one of the hardest days of our lives. From the moment Dr. Sam arrived, she treated both us and Magic with extraordinary compassion, patience, and respect. She explained every step of the process, answered our questions without ever making us feel rushed, and gave us all the time we needed. Her calm, gentle presence turned what could have been an overwhelmingly stressful experience into one filled with peace and dignity. After Magic passed, Dr. Sam lovingly wrapped him in a blanket embroidered with the words "Love and Dignity." Those weren't just words - they reflected exactly how she cared for him. We chose private cremation, and when it was time for Dr. Sam to take Magic with her, my husband carried him to her vehicle. I expected it to be a simple transfer into the back of a car. Instead, the rear of her vehicle had been thoughtfully prepared. It was beautifully arranged with flowers, and Magic was gently laid in the center with the same care and reverence that had been shown throughout the entire visit. It reminded me of a hearse - not because it was sad, but because it conveyed something so important: this wasn't just the body of "another dog." This was a cherished member of our family who mattered, and he was treated that way until the very end. That moment will stay with me forever. If you are facing one of the most heartbreaking decisions a pet owner can make, I cannot recommend Dr. Sam Counts and Lap of Love highly enough. They didn't just help Magic leave this world peacefully - they honored his life, our love for him, and the bond we shared. For that, we will always be grateful.

I couldn't have asked for better therapist and person to bring into my life during the most difficult of times. From our very first session, it's like it was meant to be. She was so incredibly understanding and compassionate. She basically held my hand through all the steps I had to go through, that Capone and I had to go through together. She stood by our side for a year. She guided me, emotionally and spiritually. She taught me how to think rationally when making tough decisions, she celebrated our small wins, she talked to me through the darkest of times, all the vet visit, radiation treatments, times filled with tears and guilt. She honored the bond Capone and I have. She helped me stay strong. she taught me to write down what I was feeling, she showed me techniques to get through moments when I would be alone. she constantly checked in and made sure I kept in touch. She held space and even cried with me. And after everything was all said and done, she was still right there, spiritually and emotionally by Capone and my side. She has so much experience with animals both in the veterinary field and as a fur mama herself. I could not have asked for anyone better to be by my side, to share Capone and my journey with. I am forever grateful, and truly honored to have met her. She has a very special gift and an even more beautiful heart. I couldn't recommend her enough. This is exactly what she was born to do. To Cara, Today, 4.16.24, marks the one year anniversary since Capone transitioned. Thank you for your beautiful heart and thank you for being the incredible friend you are! Couldn't have done it without you! Sending all the love and hugs your way! LOVE YOU

She was not in pain, but her condition changed minute to minute--sometimes worse, sometimes better--depending on progression and medication response. Deciding when to let her go was incredibly difficult. What I knew without hesitation was that, due to her severe stress at the vet, I did not want her final moments to be anywhere but home. Unfortunately, securing an at‑home appointment isn't always easy, and my biggest fear was that her condition would suddenly decline and I wouldn't be able to get someone to my house in time--forcing her last moments to be spent frightened at a clinic. Dr. Conner completely removed that fear and stress. She worked around our needs, scheduled appointments with incredible flexibility, and canceled or adjusted them without guilt or pressure. Her number one concern was always my little girl's comfort and dignity. That flexibility gave me the greatest gift anyone could offer in this situation--the ability to make the right decision at the right time, without the added stress of trying to force such a deeply personal moment into an external calendar beyond my control. Dr. Conner's compassion, patience, and understanding meant everything to us. I will forever be grateful. I used copilot to finalize my thoughts but the above is 100 percent accurate reflection of my experience.
