It's really an old school type place. A choice of different pies at the counter, a few tables to sit at. I went for a slice of the White Broccoli which was delicious! Buyer Beware I purchased a gift certificate as a Pi Day contest award for the student winner at my school. I was charged NJ tax on the gift certificate at 6.625% on the amount. When I called them back to question this, they told me it was credit card transaction fee. During the checkout process,(nor signs posted) I wasn't told about any minimum purchase or credit card fees. Who charges close to 7% in credit card transaction fees and lists it under 'NJ Tax! On top of that, they billed the gift certificate as 'open food item' knowing full well the deception behind the process. Absolute Gem of a location. Me and my Girlfriend came in from Rhode Island for a comedy show. She found it as a little hole in the wall but the food is unreal. Pizza is phenomenal. Atmosphere is chill, calm, and relaxed. They have this super cute banner up for Tuesday night dinner for 4 which seems like a cute locals thing. This review is five stars, but makes me mad. I'm genuinely upset that it took me this long to try Lovey's! I'm always on the hunt for a delicious classic pizza pie, and Lovey's delivered exactly that. The sauce and cheese ratios were perfection, the pizza was well cooked but not too well done, and it was the perfect level of thickness. I've been ordering from some other places around town, but moving forward I think I'll stick to getting my pies from Lovey's. The menu is large and has lots of other options like pasta dishes, salads, sandwiches, etc. An Italian sandwich comes in a small and large size and the small is enough for two to share for lunch. For $8 it's a great deal and the bread was super fresh and doughy. I'll continue to order in pizza and other Italian eats. Yum! read more

Came in here for a quick bite, and the grandma slice called my name. I was quite surprised that it was very tasty. I also bought me a grilled chicken wrap to go and it came with a side salad (potato, macaroni, or potato chips). The grilled chicken wrap was cooked really well. Not burnt or dry. This is one of our go-to local establishments when we're looking for a variety of Italian or American food options. The pizza is good and all of the sandwiches are very well-made. Have had delivery from Lovey's twice. This most recent time on a Monday night, we ordered at 5:15 pm and it took over 2 hours for our 3 items to be delivered. We didn't think it would be an issue since we were only 6 minutes away. Every time I called they said it would take about 20 minutes more for delivery. Eventually, our dinner was delivered over two hours late. If we didn't have a three-year-old waiting for dinner with us, I just would've went and picked it up myself. They obviously forgot about our order. We will never order from there again. read more

The owner is RUDE and unless you're writing a positive, supportive review, will make threats and comments of slander. You can see his management style through his employees, who tend to keep their heads down, are unfriendly, and even disrespectful when serving customers (serving people is literally in their job description, and the experience is very poor). Atmosphere - Dirty & buggy! This place doesn't look like it's been updated in years. No one ever seems to be cleaning or wiping down tables. It doesn't smell or look clean. I have family and friends who have tried out this spot in the past, but my experience coming here ended with an incredibly rude encounter. The place has been there for years, so people like it, but there are better pizza places to go to in Morris Plains, and even in the surrounding neighborhoods. I love Lovey's...their food is delicious and their staff is helpful and friendly. I am always greeted promptly upon entering. Their menu is large with a lot of great options. I especially love the ham & cheese calzone...penne vodka is a favorite as well. The ingredients are always fresh and delicious. My family and I took advantage of their holiday catering special last Christmas Eve; everyone raved about the food- it was amazing- delicious and a great value. They even helped me out to the car as I was with my two young children. It is always a pleasant experience when I go there. I have been ordering pizza from this place for the last 15 years. I have never had such an order as last Sunday. The pizza was not fresh and they gave us a pizza that was warmed over and then added the extra cheese and pepperoni. And we picked this up on our way home. We were told 25 minutes. We got there in 15 and the order was "ready". The calamari when we opened when we got home had sauce on some of the pieces already and it looked like it had been picked from garbage. We threw it away. I have recommended this place to friends and neighbors over the years. I will let them know of my recent experience. So needless to say we will not be going back.... Their website has an online ordering option but I recommend not using it. The past two times I've ordered that way there have been issues with them receiving the order and not getting the order until we walk in for pickup. Surprised by that because it's almost always an hour quote even in off times. I've also been surprised by how under done the pizza has been. Loveys is very well regarded by the community and I've tried them multiple times before writing this review. Lovey's gets a thumbs up for a few reasons. First, they have a parking lot. Gotta love that. Second, my wife and I only wanted a couple of slices each and the pizza guy said he only had 3 so he suggested that we take the two from the 3 that were ready and he would bring us the other 2 when he pulled out a fresh pie. Third, he actually walked over with the 2 slices, warning us that they were hot! Wow! - service and with a smile. The pizza (plain slices) were very good. I especially liked the crust. It had a nice crisp bite to it. Good sauce - lots of tang, lots of flavor. The tables were clean and the restaurant in general was neat and tidy. For late on a week night, I was impressed. I ordered a half Combo sub, which is basically an Italian, w/mayo, onion, lettuce, light oil and fresh mozzarella (which was an extra dollar- fair enough!). The counter staff was friendly. Took less than 10 minutes for my whole party's order (4 people). Got home and expectations were met. Fresh bread, quality meat and the fresh mozz was delish. I do wish there had been a slightly higher amount of toppings and mayo on both sides of the bread, but that's just being nit picky. Would reccomend. read more
