I do not know how many calories is in this salad, but not eating meat helped reduce waste and energy. The Loving Hut in Milpitas has closed so we went to this location. It is located inside the mall and you order and pick up at the counter. There are tables and chairs near their booth or you can find seating around the mall. Seating may be limited on the weekends. The menu is pretty limited compared to the other full sized restaurant. However, the taste did not disappoint. Portion sizes were good too and the wait time was about 5-10 minutes, very reasonable for the amount of food we ordered. We ordered the golden nuggets, steamed bun, mongolian wonder, and sesame bites. You can order togo or dine in. The container is filled, It's stuffed to the brim. I've had a lot of other vegan options recently at other places (not totally vegan spots; just spots that have a vegan option) and unfortunately it appears that 1) the food is very mediocre 2) they're skimping in order to save money. This place doesn't have that issue. The food is always good and the portions like just said are just perfect. Friendly staff as well. I ordered the spicy royal just because the picture looked good, but I didn't realize it's supposed to be the vegan version of bun bo hue which is my favorite dish! I was tromping around the mall a few days ago, waiting for my apple appointment (not the produce, the IOS kind, for clarification ) when I had an overwhelming desire to soupersize my day. First of all, if you are a proper fan of this style of soup you already know how delicious it was just based on that picture. It was double tied and piping hot when I finally arrived home. I ordered it with no noodles, extra veggies and a few packets of soy sauce. The imitation bouf, york and rimp were so i tasty and lean with very generous portions! 1/3 of that container at least. My eldest son became vegetarian about a year ago. I had just picked him up from SF and we were on our way home when I decided we should grab dinner. They are located in Oakridge mall, directly outside of Target. So if you park in the parking garage for Target right as you enter the mall you will see them kiddy corner to Target right past the escalators. I think this place has been there for a number of years. I vaguely remember them being there at least 4 years ago. Anyhow they have plenty of vegetarian/vegan items to choose from. it was just the two of us but we wanted to try an array of items. We ordered the following: 1. Spring Rolls: fried crisp, filled with cabbage,carrots and glass noodles. Comes with a yummy sweet and sour sauce. Comes in an order of 4. 2. "Beef" Banh Mi: The beef which is what they call "vegan protein" looks, feels and tastes like thin slices of beef. Seasoned well with lemongrass, etc. veggies were bright in color and crisp as should be. Bread was crusty but not the usual banh mi bread we like. if they change that it will be perfect. Maybe also add some vegan mayo to bind it all together. 3. "Beef" and Tofu Vermacelli: vegan protein and tofu mixed with veggies and cold vermicelli noods with a house made vegan dressing that was rice vinegar based and similar to the classic dressing. 4. Spicy Royal: A spicy "beef" noodle soup. If you like bun bo hue this comes really close. Same beef used in banh mi was used in this soup. Broth was flavorful, rich and comforting. Not as spicy as I would have liked but still a tiny bit of heat. Veggies were fresh and delicious. Only thing was missing was a lemon or lime wedge. I ended up dipping my banh mi in the broth and it was delicious. 5. Thai Tea: It was delicious. Not too sweet and portion was good. All in all I spent a little over $50 and we had a lot of left overs. So it fed us twice, so price point was reasonable. We will be back. read more

I tried again a few minutes later, and a man answered. When I requested my usual order--with the salad and veggies packed separately to avoid sogginess--he told me they couldn't do that anymore. This was strange since I've been making this request for a long time without issue, always tipping for the extra effort and packaging. I asked if he was the manager, and he responded, "No, nothing like that," adding that no manager was present. As I continued speaking, intending to place my order anyway, he hung up mid-conversation! Shocked, I turned to ask my friends if I should even call back, but since we were craving this food, I decided to try again. When he answered, I mentioned that we seemed to have been disconnected, but instead of acknowledging this, he insisted that I had hung up. He also sounded rushed and irritated, explaining he was the only person managing phones and in-person customers. I get it--being busy can be overwhelming--but this made the experience even more unprofessional. Also, being busy is a good thing for a job and business, so why turn away business?! Reluctantly, I placed my order, and when I picked it up, we were sure it was the same person from the phone (my friends, too, as the conversation was on speaker), though he denied it. When I asked, he claimed the phone orders had been handled by someone else who had "just left." Sure... To add to the chaos, he initially gave me the wrong order. Thankfully, my friends noticed while I was paying, and we corrected it. He apologized and swapped it out. He also mentioned he convinced the kitchen to honor my separate packaging request this one time but said it wouldn't be allowed in the future because of a "new policy." Here's the kicker: How could he have talked to the kitchen about my request if he wasn't the one who took my call? The lies piled up, and it was exhausting to deal with someone so unprofessional and disorganized. Despite claiming he wasn't a manager, he gave me a discount, which made me wonder if he was trying to prevent me from reporting the experience. This entire situation left a bad taste in my mouth--figuratively--and made me question the overall trustworthiness of the staff. If someone like this is handling customers up front, even if not cooking the food, then what about those in the back? It's hard to feel confident about returning. Even so, I am giving 3 stars for the quality of the food, but... To the manager or owner: Please screen your hires more carefully. Training isn't the issue here--it's about hiring reliable, professional staff to begin with. The service is damaging the reputation of what used to be a great place. With the 2nd lockdown during this whole Covid thing...small businesses are struggling and dying. The spicy noodle soup is really flavorful, has a nice spice to it and served with round yellow noodles. If you like more full flavor foods, this soup is a good choice. I'm disappointed as I loved this place. I won't be hitting this location much anymore. One other thing... a number of people have mentioned that the service is slow now, and that is very true.
