We had gotten there slightly early and wanted to escape inside the restaurant since someone was smoking outside. After being seated, we ordered a wide variety of dishes. Two tofu dishes, galbi, seafood pancake and rice cakes with chicken. My favorite dish was the galbi. It was seasoned well and the beef was tender. The tofu dishes were tasty as well. Seafood Pancake - they have a version that is unlike any other version I've had. I thought it was non-traditional, but very tasty. The pancake is super thin. I don't think they use a traditional wheat flour and they're shallow frying for extra crispness. Some of my family didn't like it because they wanted crispy outside soft inside. Spicy Rice Cake (mild) with Chicken - My family doesn't eat anything above a mild. I liked the flavor, but could have used more heat if I was ordering for myself. Mushroom Tofu Soup - I think this was pretty standard fare Fish Egg Tofu Soup - For some reason we thought this was fish with egg tofu (which isn't even a Korean thing). The best Korean spot in the Bay! I've been coming here ever since I was little with my family and it's still so good to this day. I've tried almost everything on the menu and i've never been disappointed ever! My favorites include the bibimbap, kalbi, pancake, rice cake, tofu soup, and stir fried udon. The sides that come out before the food are all so delicious especially their kimchi. The restaurant has many seating options with the best customer service! The sweetest people who are very attentive and sometimes even give you free samples on the side to try new items. The prices are really reasonable as many other Korean places are pricey. It was a deep fried style so it was really crunchy but I preferred the pan fried version. I've been going to Tofu House for a very long time and the taste? Delicious as always. I always recommend getting either their original or their kimchi tofu soup. Make sure it's atleast Medium-spicy (if you can handle spice) and I love adding udon to it! It comes out steaming hot and boiling so you have to crack the raw egg in fast and let it cook. I always wanted to try this place out for a few months when I realize there was a Korean tofu soup place near my area but my wife and kids are only into KBBQ. I finally had a chance to try it last night since they were hungry and didn't mind where we go as long as it was an Asian cuisine. We got there around 8:45pm after coming back from Sacramento not realizing that they close at 9pm but the owner was nice enough to still seat us. When we sat, she brought us the menu and our utensils and told us that the kitchen was closing soon so we had to order quickly. Good thing was that I have been wanting to come here so I knew what dishes I wanted to try. We did family style so that way we can all try a little of everything. After we put in our order, the owner brought out the sides and brought us complimentary fried dumpling. My kids love fried dumplings do they were excited to see the owner bringing it out. They of course killed it but I was able to get one piece and I had to agree, it was really good. We like the sides especially the kim chi. It was not sour at all and had a good crunch with a good balance of spice and sweetness. The bean sprouts is the only one I think was a little bland where it was probably just sesame oil. Don't get wrong, it was still good especially when combined with the other sides. I ordered the seafood pancake to start since that's my go to appetizer when I go to these mom and pop Korean tofu houses. The seafood pancake was really good. It was oily and crunchy which is how I like it since that's where the flavor cones from. There was a good amount of calamari on each piece. I had to take half of it to go since we didn't want to hold the workers and owner longer. I decided to eat a few more at home and it was still good even being a little soggy due to the togo box trapping the heat. I had to get the tofu soup since that was the reason I wanted to try this place. I opted for the beef and dumpling soup since my kids love dumpling. My wife couldn't do spicy so we got medium spice level and my wife and kids really enjoyed it. The soup has so much flavor and it went well with the rice which I poured some broth onto. The beef was not overcooked and the dumpling was soft but not overcooked so it held its shape. I usually prefer my tofu soup spicy but at medium spice level, it has a lot of flavor still. We ordered the beef stir fried udon and my kids wanted the beef dish over the beef ribs. I got these with medium spice level. The beef had good flavor and went good with the sides and rice. Once we got to the bottom pieces, I had to use a spoon to scrape the meat off the plate since they were a little stuck but the meat was not burnt at all. The stir fried udon was also good. It reminds me of lo mein the way it was cooked but better since it was cooked a little longer to give it more of a little crispy taste than a soft texture. I think stir fried udon might be a lot better if we opted for a spicier level which my youngest son also agreed. I was very impress with this place and glad there is a tofu house close by so I don't have to drive to Sunnyvale to get tofu soup or good Korean food. There is a lot of parking and the space is a little bigger compared to other tofu houses I went to around the area. The place is very clean and the place has good lighting. I wish the tables were a little bigger since the space was barely big enough to hold all of our dishes when the food came out. The staff were really good and we didn't want them to stay any later than they had to especially when the owner was gracious enough to seat us right before they closed. We tried to eat as fast as we can and we were able to leave the place by 9:20pm. I highly recommend this place and it seems like a good place to come with friends and family where you can sit and enjoy your meal while socializing. I ordered the seafood tofu soup with spicy level 6 and normal salt. It came out piping hot, and between the heat and the spice level, it was a little difficult to eat at first. Flavor-wise, it ended up being a bit too salty for my taste, especially once everything was mixed together. I would adjust less salt next time. My friend got the beef tofu soup at spicy level 4, and that one turned out much better with a more balanced flavor and easier to enjoy. One nice touch is that they give you raw eggs on the side to crack into the soup for free, which helps mellow out the spice. The banchan were good, and they'll refill them if you ask, which is always appreciated.
