Golden Bamboo is my family's favorite place to dine for vegetarian foods. We ordered the Kabocha - Seasonal Special, Five Salad Sampler, and the Mushroom Hotpot. These dishes are our goto choices of order when we dine here. The salad samplers were so flavorful and I absolutely love getting a taste of all the available salads. The Kabocha soup was insanely good (my parents order this often but it was my first time trying it). There's veggies and mushrooms and tofu in the soup. Flavor was just on point! My favorite always is the Mushroom hotpot. The soup broth and the many mushroom varieties just taste so good. You get to choose one of two noodles (i forgot if rice was an option or not)and we went with the classic vermicelli. Service here was slightly delayed but understandable due to the heavy traffic and big parties. The staff were communicative and were working very hard to complete orders. Restaurant was packed and the interior is really homey and comfortable. It's not a fancy restaurant and rather is one where you'd like to share a peaceful family meal at. Highly recommended. Overall rating: Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Menu: 10/10 Restaurant Vibes: 10/10 Price to Overall Dining (POD): 10/10

We found out about this place from some friends and we've been there a couple of times since. It's awesome to have a go to spot for vegetarian Vietnamese food. The space is welcoming with the decorations and decor. The staff are always friendly and attentive. There's a patio area for outside dining as well. The dishes we enjoy are the salad platter that lets you sample most of the salads on the menu. The crispy yellow egg noddles were really delicious! I love the crunch noodles with the savory stir fry on top. The sweet and sour chicken is also really great. It's definitely pricy, but the food was worth it. There's also an online order through their website that's really easy to use and it'll occasionally send you coupons and deals that are $10 off or 10% off your next meal.

I really enjoyed this place. The faux meat in the Roasted Duck Noodle Soup was very good, and the soup was very flavorful. The other items that my friends ordered also looked delicious but I didn't get a chance to try them. The service was very very good. They were very understanding about how my friends and I didn't realize that they closed so early, and they were willing to wait for my friends to arrive when we offered to order ahead. My friends arrived close to closing, and they still seated us. The ambiance was Asian and well put together.

Saving this place for future returns.

Finally got to try this vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant! The interior is beautiful, but their AC was barely working, so I got an iced drink to stay cool which worked. Service was great, and the food came out super fast! Vit Quay Bac Kinh Vegan Duck with Steam Buns (4.5/5 stars) - not sure why it says vegan duck when it's clearly fried mushrooms, it's very good all together, drench it in that delicious sauce, my only complaint is that the mushroom is thick and chewy making is hard to bite all the way through but it was very yummy regardless Tra Dao Peach Iced Tea (5/5) - use canned peaches which is good for me since I'm allergic to fresh peaches, ton of ice and very freshing Overall, will definitely come back!

Ambiance is 4.5/5 and food is 3/5! ***USP: stellar ambiance with vegan Vietnamese food. ***AMBIANCE: the restaurant itself is not very large but is filled with abundant plants thriving in every corner. As they do not have sufficient natural light, they ensured every plant is close to an artificial light source. The vibrant hues of the foliage against the earthy tones of the interiors like weathered wood add a warmth and coziness to the space. There are multiple Buddha statues adorning most of the corners creating a sense of serene calmness. It reminded me of Angkor Wat! They have some outdoor seating as well which was surrounded by lush greenery. ***FOOD: I wish the food matched up to ambiance. Though it wasn't bad, it wasn't great either. Here's what we got based on the recommendation from our server- * Fried wontons- 3.5/5- they looked whimsically cute like tiny little packages. They were a tad bit greasy and the filling wasn't very flavorful. The sauce served on the side was a poor accompaniment. *Thai fried rice-3.5/5- never saw a vibrant red Thai fried rice! Aren't they supposed to use Thai chillies for heat instead of chilli powder? Anyway, flavor was still ok and there were tiny bits of some fried stuff that provided a different textural profile to the dish. *Fried noodles- 3/5- I love fried noodles and try to order it an every restaurant that serves it. The version here is one of the most poorly executed. The sauce was very watery thin and sweet.

Beautifully decorated. Clean. Friendly servers. Unique and delicious foods and desserts. Will come back with my family.

Pleasantly surprised by the food here. It didn't even taste vegetarian! We didn't realize it but we happen to go on a full moon day, which means many Vietnamese people will eat vegetarian so the place was quite full. The restaurant is small, but there's also outdoor seating. The staff is very attentive and the plating of all the food is very nice. I especially recommend the mango sticky rice! It's a great way to end the meal.

This Vietnamese vegetarian spot does a creative job reimagining classic dishes. I tried their vegetarian version of bún bò Huế, which is essentially bún Huế without the bò (beef). As expected, the broth wasn't as deep or rich as a traditional beef-based soup, but it was still really yummy and comforting in its own way. The bowl came with fake-looking spam and other soy-based mock meats that resembled chả, which was fun to try. The bò lúc lắc had bold, heavy seasoning, but I personally didn't love the texture of the fake meat... it didn't quite hit the same as the real thing for me. The standout, though, was the nem nướng appetizer. Absolutely delicious and probably my favorite dish of the meal. The sauce really made it and tied everything together. Overall, a solid spot for vegetarian Vietnamese food, especially if you're open to plant-based twists on traditional flavors or just want to eat clean for one dish!

Very delicious Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant! I have been coming here since 2018 and the portions/flavor have stayed consistent. Nice ambiance inside and fast service. I highly recommend the mango salad.

We came on a Saturday and it was relatively slow so we were seated right away! The restaurant is a small so if you prefer a more "private" dining experience, I recommend asking to be seated outside. They had a great menu, from rice to broths. It is not overwhelming and if you are coming with your family, you can do a family style dinner to try more items. Their salad was amazing! Mi Vit Thim was by far the best dish they had there!

    Deep fried fish
    Siyi T.

We went to Golden Bamboo restaurant for Mother's Day dinner. It was crowded but luckily we were seated right away without reservation. The menu was long and had a wide selection of vegetarian food. We chose a pork dish, a fish dish, pad Thai, and Vietnamese sweet and sour soup. I was amazed that they made the "meat" dish actually taste like meat! The pork belly was crispy and coated with a thick layer of sauce that was lightly sweetened. The deep fried fish was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The pad Thai tasted great, but the noodles were stuck to each other and hard to pick up. Our favorite was the sweet and sour soup. The soup had a tangy taste, which made it very refreshing. It came with many kinds of vegetables such as okra, oyster mushroom, tomatoes, and zucchini. We also saw that many other tables ordered the same soup! The restaurant was located in a plaza in the Evergreen neighborhood. There was plenty of parking. Overall, it's a great restaurant for vegetarian food. They made vegetarian food less boring and full of flavors. Highly recommend!

Can I bring my dog if I sit outside?

Anybody know why they are closed? This seems so sudden.

The sign on the door says the closure is only temporary. Thank goodness!!

    Is everything vegan/vegetarian?

Yes! So good you can't even tell!

Anyone know what kind of green tea they serve at this restaurant ? Everyone in my family loved it and I tried few varieties of green tea, it didn't taste the same

It's tea brewed with pandan leaves!

They had some Fanime specials for the con (katsu and egg salad sandwiches, spam musubi), seasonal drinks, of course coffees and teas, and non caffeinated drinks, as well as some food too (heated up pastries, both sweet and savory). There's a restroom with a code and a couple seats and tables with outlets to charge your devices. Service was welcoming and efficient especially after the crowds started to pick up. I got the: 1) Egg Salad Sando: -You can tell these were handmade in store. They had cute washi tape to hold the packaging together. -Solid egg salad sandwich. Slightly sweet white bread and generous amount of egg salad inside the sandwich. Creamy mayo taste that isn't too sour or tart, lots of egg in it. Perfect for an anime con next door. 2) Cappuccino: -I got this no sugar and sugar free and it came out with some pretty latte art. I thought it was mostly ok and boyfriend thought so too, but after several sips and when it was too late since we really had to get to the con, it just became too disgustingly sweet for him and he had to throw it away. 3) Yuzu Fresh Fruit Sparkler: -Yuzu puree with sparkling soda water. -Refreshing and not bad, but even after mixing this was a bit sweeter than what I would have liked and again, in our rush to leave, we couldn't really get this adjusted. I ended up pouring most of it in a water bottle to enjoy later and put in my bag. But ended up not finishing it in the end. Maybe next year I'll try again or just stick to the food stuffs.

When walking, we missed the restaurant initially because this place is clearly, a hidden gem, especially being hidden along the nightclub strip. We were blown away by the curated vibes. From the thoughtful decor to The Office being projected on the wall. It felt hip, fresh and refined. We decided to craft our own drinks - Arnold Palmers, his favorite. But they only had sparkling lemonade, which actually made it even better. We shared a salad that had some cooked pears and squash alongside the greens, walnuts, cranberries and blue cheese. I do feel like the cooked sweet elements overpowered the salad with their sweetness and textures a bit. Wondering if a refreshing pear for crunch or more dressing could have brightened it up and provided a salty, sweet balance. I ordered the Short Ribs with a parsnip purée and roasted carrots and it did not disappoint. Everything paired beautifully together, perfectly salted and cooked. I finished the entire plate. Dad got the Pork Chop and while it was overcooked, he loved the flavors happening in the dish and was pleasantly surprised by the refreshing treatment of the kale. My only complaint was the steak. I ordered it medium rare, but it came out medium well, a bit dry and was tougher than expected, making it difficult to cut. It was still tasty--just not cooked quite the way I was hoping. The mimosas were good too, a great value. Nothing that really stood out as amazing, but definitely nothing bad about them either--they got the job done. What really elevated the experience was the service.
