My first time trying Mumu Hot and I went on a Friday night. We were 10th in line and just walked around the mall. The parking isn't the best since it's at the mall but we just parked away from everyone / near nordstorm rack. I got the single's meat - prime rib black angus beef flat iron with the mixed veggies, and udon. I picked the tom yum soup. It was a good amount single's meat and the price! 5/5 Sauce bar- I mainly put ponzu, garlic, green onions and cilantro. My friend got one of the vegetarian soup bases, house ramen noodles and lots of veggies. She let me try some of her house ramen noodles and I thought it was so good! Definitely will be back!

Attend almost weekly. Lied to me about bean curd being part of the menu. Proof that it's part of the normal set and didn't have to be ordered separate. Also missing normal cauliflower this time, wasnt included last 20 or so visits. Don't F****ing lie to me. Contact me and I'll change the review to 5 star. Spent thousands here so far.

Love the restaurant aesthetic here! Very clean and well organized. The 2 person set meal is definitely more worth than the individual set meal, so better to dine with a partner or friend! We mainly had the Wagyu Chuck Roll and the Wagyu Toro, which the chuck roll was really good! The toro was actually a bit too fatty, and shrinks up a lot, so I would just get the wagyu chuck roll only. There is a great selection of sauces. I love that they have the fish ball with roe. The Tom Yum soup was also very flavorful, I enjoyed the sourness to it! Everything was really good, I feel like if only they had a side bar for snacks and dessert, that would be perfect. Usually snacks & dessert are common at hai di lao, and high end hot pot places like this, so that would definitely be the cherry on top with the price we're already paying for too.

    The Classic For 2

The Classic for 2 is plenty for 2-3 people. In my opinion this is the most cost effective option for hotpot especially if you're not an adventurous eater and don't need much to be full. When ordering we didn't think it would be enough but The Classic for 2 was plenty, we barely finished! Food tasted nice and fresh. I got the Sukiyaki broth and it was very sweet, I'll try another soup next time. My boyfriend and mom got the Tom Yum and they loved it. Service is quick and effective. The sauce bar could be cleaner but it was a busy Saturday night so I can see why it got messy. Restaurant seemed to be full of families. It was loud and a little difficult to have a conversation, but I still enjoyed my experience!

Mumu Hot Pot is easily one of my favorite hot pot spots in the Bay Area! The selection is endless, and the sauce bar is huge with plenty of options to customize your perfect dipping sauce. Everything inside is always clean and well-maintained, and the wait time is usually only around 15-20 minutes, which isn't bad considering how popular it is. If you're planning to visit, I'd definitely recommend going with two or more people to get the most out of the experience and try a wider variety of items. One of my personal favorites is the oolong tea--it pairs perfectly with the meal. The meats are always fresh and high quality, and I appreciate that the vegetables are well-stocked, fresh, and prepared nicely. They definitely aren't stingy with the veggie selection! When it does come to the sauces sometimes when during peak hours they will run out with certain ingredients like soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil so forth.. but usually it's pretty stocked when I come in during the evenings. One thing that really stands out is that everyone gets their own individual hot pot, which is a feature I love and don't see very often at other hot pot restaurants. It makes the experience much more personalized and convenient. The only thing to keep in mind is that it gets very busy, especially in the evenings, and parking can be a bit challenging during peak hours. Even so, it's absolutely worth the visit and remains one of my go-to hot pot spots in the Bay Area.

I have a go-to hot pot spot that was closed during my latest craving, so I decided to venture out and give Mumu Hot Pot a try. It was midday on a Monday, and we were surprised by how busy the restaurant was. There were several large, corporate-looking parties, so we assumed there must be an office nearby. I started with the oolong tea topped with cream, and it was honestly one of the best oolong drinks I've had. Sometimes oolong can come out too bitter, but this had the perfect amount of sweetness and paired really well with the saltiness of the cream top. One thing I really appreciated was the ordering system. We were able to scan a QR code and order directly from our phones, which made everything super efficient. I was able to easily close out my tab and even use Apple Pay. We ordered the Meat Lovers Combo, which came with two soup bases, two carb choices (I went with the udon), and three different meat selections. It was very filling and definitely the best way to try a variety of meats. I also loved that they had a self-serve sauce bar. I use a ton of ponzu whenever I eat hot pot, so being able to refill as much as I wanted without having to flag someone down was a huge plus. The service was fairly hands-off since most of it iself-serve or phone-based, but the staff was still attentive and quick when it came to delivering food and checking in when needed. Overall, a solid 9/10 for me. I'll definitely be back.

For the longest time, my favorite hot pot spot in San Jose was One Pot. Definitely was my go to but after trying Mumu, I am turning the page. First of all, the space is so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. Have you ever seen a hot pot place that looks like a pilates studio? It is such a wonderful addition to Oakridge mall, though a bit random, I love it. There is plenty of parking out front and also a nice outdoor seating area. Now for the fun part! There are many different combos to order but whenever I go here, I always go with another friend so we share the combo for 2 which includes 3 meats, 2 broths, 2 veggie platters, and 3 sides for such a great deal. Now i'd have to say i don't love any of the broths.. I've tried tomato, miso, and yuzu shio. Nothing wrong with the broths but I usually like a pork bone broth. Either way, it's probably better I don't like the broths because I always drink too much of it and wake up puffy the next day! The meat quality is really good and I love how you can make your own sauce combos. The sides are nice. because you can get tofu skin or quail eggs. Everything here feels very generous at a really good price. Because the restaurant is so spacious, I feel like there is little to no wait every time I go. A big big plus. I'm bringing all my friends and family here when we are craving hot pot!

I have visited Mumu a few times now, and it's honestly a house favorite. Despite this location being at Oakridge mall, I love the aesthetics here and how yummy the food is. Please note that RSVP is through the phone! I LOVE their outdoor seating area, it's super spacious and honestly such a vibe for eating hotpot outdoors. The staff here are super chill and kind, though for the most part you're ordering through an iPad/ QR code and the sauce bar is self served. OKAY THE FOOD: * Sukiyaki Broth: my all time favorite broth, and I LOVE this broth here. It goes well with all cuts of meat and veggies. * Tom Yum Broth: My partner's favorite broth here, and he comes here more often than me! * The Classic Set: This is probably the best option if you're going with a party of 2. There's plenty of veggies, and the meat portions are pretty large though we like to add another meat cut for funsies. * Passion Fruit Orange Tea: Hear me out, this is SUCH A REFRESHING tea. I'm not the biggest passion fruit lover, but my goodness do I love getting this drink with my meal.

    Marisa C.

TLDR: I appreciated that it's a hotpot place with various broths for varying taste buds and preferences, you don't see this super often. It felt like there was a broth for every single person. I appreciated the sets made for 2, but will say that for the price, I'd rather go to an AYCE spot for the same price (more details down below). The sukiyaki was flavorful, the meats were pretty decent quality, and the veggie platter had plenty for the both of us. I'd say the only reason I give it a 3.5-4/5 is because of the food portion to price. Food: 4/5 We ordered The Classic which came with 2 soup bases (both got sukiyaki), 3 meats (prime black angus beef flat iron, Australian M6-7 wagyu beef chuck eye roll, Australian M6-8 wagyu beef toro), 3 sides (fish tofu, shell less shrimp, idr the last side), 2 noodles/rice (we went with udon noodles), and 1 large veggie platter. We opted for noodles and then on the side ordered 2 orders of rice ($2 each) so that we were able to get both. it was a solid amount fo

So glad to have a nice hot pot restaurant in the neighborhood! When you walk in, it's bright and spacious and service is really great too. We did ask for a menu and we started checking off the boxes but then no one came, so just ordered off the QR code on my phone. We ordered the classic for 2 and a single for the 3 of us. 3 orders of the beef short ribs and 1 Wagyu beef chuckeye roll. Our broths were Tom Yum, Sukiyaki and mushroom for me. For the sides we ordered tendon, tripe, shrimp, fresh beancurd roll, and cuttlefish. It was a lot of food and appreciated the sauce bar that had a ton of variety. Sesame with some ponzu and chili oil is my favorite! But also liked the side chili sauces that I also added to the very umami and yummy mushroom broth. The meat portions were larger than I expected and the beef short ribs was so tender. The chuckeye roll was a bit chewy and wouldn't order this one in the future. Lots of veggies and the sides were all very good though we wouldn't order the tendon again in the future as it was just too thick and the other sides were tastier. It was a lot of food and even took some of it home. To finish off with udon, it was a very hearty meal. Will definitely be back in the near future!

Our new go to spot for hot pot, amazingly kids friendly. This place is so clean. and I have always wanted to try it. Service are really good, they add our water really often. Food are pretty good. The quality of meat is really nice and the portion size is really good. We ordered a step foot tooth and this perfectly fed us and our little one. Will definitely revisit.

    Kathy T.

ordered the classic for 2 people. it comes with 2 soup bases, 3 types of meat, 3 sides, 2 noodles, and 1 veggie platter, which comes out to $75 pre tip/tax. it's kind of pricey, but the amount that you get is plentiful and you will come out full and satisfied. i highly recommend the tom yum soup base, it is SOOOOO YUMMY. i think about it a lot. the establishment is clean and spacious. the service is quick, and the staff seem nice.

    The sauce bar recipe recommendations.

We come to Mumu at Oakridge Mall so many times; it's like our second home. Each time we come, the wait is reasonable - even during peak times. We always order a set for two which is more than enough food for my husband and me. I tend to need a wheelbarrow to cart me out of here. The Tom Yum soup base is my favorite as it's subtle citrus flavors compliment the quality meat and the fresh vegetables. My favorite is the sauce bar where they recommend popular combinations (customizable) to highlight the soup base and food. I look at the ingredients as vehicles to get more of the soup and sauces in my belly! Today I had the passion fruit margarita on a hot day and it was refreshing, casting summer vibes. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is friendly every time. We always bring guests and everyone walks away full, fat, and happy as we plan our next visit. I highly recommend this place and am always excited to introduce someone to this location.

The Blossom Hill Rd location had no outdoor seating when I visited.

It's very efficient, you place the order, get a number, find a table either inside or outside, both very beautiful settings with intentional decor. It's a place you'd want to take a date, a friend or family, it's just so fabulous. I ordered the Matcha and Fried Mortadella Egg Sandwich the first time. I kid you not, one of the best bites I've had all year. The eggs were so fresh and orange, soft and fluffy, with some melty Provolone, some Dijon mayo and stacks of Mortadella. The balance of flavors were superb. The second time we went, I wanted to order everything off the menu and almost ordered the same sandwich again but I saw that they were known for their Bacon Breakfast Burritos. AGAIN, eggs fresh, orange, and fluffy, with crispy hashbrowns and bacon, along with some avocado. It was absolutely delicious and I can see why people enjoyed it so much. The sauce pairings were spicyyy, so use as you will but it really didn't need a whole lot to add to the already flavorful burrito. Curious about what the Birria Breakfast Burrito tastes like, perhaps next time. We also ended up getting the Nutella Banana French Toast which made me want to cry out of joy. I've only ever had basic French toast so this was otherworldly. The drinks are good, but I will keep coming back for the foooood! Food took about 10-15 minutes which was so fast for a popular brunch spot but perhaps the long line is where most of the wait is depending on time of day.

I felt so relieved when I stepped outside.

My first time trying Somali food and definitely won't be the last! I read some reviews prior to…read morecoming so I knew we weren't going to have water, but man that tea or Shaah was tasty! It did have a lot of sugar, but it was pretty similar flavor-wise to Indian chai (sans milk), so it paired very well with our order. We ordered the chicken suqaar and the beef wrap. We opted for the chapati (sabaayad in Somali) with the chicken suqaar, but would love to try their rice or their version of injera during our next visit! The menu at first glance looks kinda confusing since they have Lunch in big letters on one side with a ton of their dishes and Dinner on the other side with the remainder of the dishes, making it seem like a few items are available during this time... but the Lunch portion just states that it comes with a side of rice, pasta, chapati, or injera (which is the same as Dinner...) so kind of an interesting stylistic choice there, but this is to say that everything on the menu is available the whole time they're open. The meals were so flavorful- the chicken suqaar had a ton of onions, carrots, chicken, green-bean like veggie, and spices, and was served with a green sauce that had kind of a habanero or jalapeno taste to it. The beef wrap was huge and I only ate half of one for dinner- it was flavored so well and the beef was cooked perfectly. This came with a side of the green sauce and a white sauce. I'd love to return and try their injera with chicken, kay kay chicken, beef suqaar or beef steak, and their sambusas! I saw some on another diner's plate and it looked sizable and filling. Jubba is located right next to a VTA light rail and an apartment complex so there's decent foot traffic, but overall, a wonderful place to try and eat!
