N1. Vietnamese Pho Noodle Soup- To Go
    Kay O.

This was my first time at Green Lotus in San Jose since the one off of Bascom closed down. I was very surprised to see the exact same menu at the San Jose location versus the Bascom location. I got takeout this particular day and the stirfry I wanted they didn't have any more of that style, but the lady said there was a similar one that was better for takeout. I forget which one she recommended but I ordered that one as well as the mango salad and the Vegetarian Pho. Once I got to my aunts house and set up our lunches, I found out that the Pho was cold. I'm not too sure if that was due to me getting takeout or if they had not heated anything up that day. They didn't tell me anything ahead of time so I think that's a little odd to me. You would serve someone cold soup, even though they want to takeout at least without telling them first. Hee Nevertheless, the mango salad, stirfry dish, and Pho all tasted delicious once everything was heated up to the right temperature! We loved our food and I am happy. This location is still around!!

Hubby and I came here without even realizing it was a vegetarian restaurant! That didn't matter because there were plenty of appealing things on the menu with "meat" which was plant based but just as satisfying as if it was real meat! I got the Pomelo salad and hubby got the crispy noodles chow mein with vegetables. We were so impressed with how beautiful the food was arranged and presented. And above that, the food was as delicious as it was beautiful! The pomelo salad was one of a kind. What a creative mixture of different flavors and textures! There was crispy tofu and gluten strips as well as squiggly vermicelli, lightly tossed shredded carrots, finely shredded cabbage, vegetarian ham, sweet and refreshing pomelo chunks, all tossed in a very light and tasty sweet vinaigrette. It was definitely one of the most creative and tasty salads I've ever had. The crispy noodles chow mein with vegetables was delicious. The noodles came with gravy at the bottom of the plate but stayed nice and crispy. The noodles were arranged like a nest with perfectly sautéed vegetables and imitation meat in the middle. It was Green Lotus' beautiful version of Hong Kong style chow mein. The only downside of eating here was the traffic and the difficulty of trying to get in and out of the parking lot through the relentless traffic. But the food was excellent and it was a very nice experience for us. Service was also excellent!

We usually order from the Business Circle location because we personally feel like the food is slightly better from there and also there's a five star rewards system at that location. However, we decided to order from this location today. We got the salted fish fried rice, bbq pork roll, and crispy oyster mushroom. Just by looks, the fried rice here is a lot more pale. I do think the rice is marginally less seasoned but overall still good. I really enjoyed the mushroom because it's slightly sweet compared to the Business Circle one. The only dish I was disappointed by was the bbq pork roll. The rice paper was on the harder side already when we ate it, whereas, we could leave the Business Circle's roll out for hours with no problem. I still think the food at this location is good, but we still prefer the other location.

We came in an hour before closing and were able to grab the last available table. We tried the pomelo salad, shaken beef, bun bo hue, fried mushrooms. All were good, but I probably would get a different salad next time. It was too much sauce.

One of my favorite restaurants in the bay area! We've been coming for years and have tried about 99% of the menu and everything is consistently delicious. I'm not vegan, but I constantly find myself craving their food. Food 5/5: Some of their menu highlights include the salted fish fried rice, mango salad, crispy seasoning oyster mushroom, green curry, and the tofu dumpling vermicelli soup ( their version of Bún Riêu). My family also favors their caramelized clay pot dishes. Their food is fresh and flavorful! Service 5/5: Attentive, friendly staff Ambiance 5/5: It's a cozy, medium sized restaurant with lots of dining space and always tidy. Overall, this is a place we love to frequent. I cannot rave enough about this place and I've converted a many non vegan eaters into loving Green Lotus!

With my vegan eating daughter in town,I needed a new place to go eat. This place had really good reviews,so she ok. They have a nice variety of fake meats . Most places don't have such a good selection. She ordered the vegan udon. It's actually hard to find a vegan broth. The broth was thick and rich. Almost a chicken soup consistently. We also got fried tofu and the salty fish fried rice. Not the typical fried tofu. This one was panko crusted. The silky tofu walked well with the crispy crunchy crust.. The rice wasn't that salty. It was fine, just expected a little more salty and flavore. We ordered online and,it said it would be ready in 10 minutes. Really quick service for 6pm. My only negative is the traffic around the area. It's always seems like there's traffic up and down story rd. I like the area food scene, but hate dealing with the traffic and the parking.

Went here for my friend who is a vegan for her birthday. This a vegetarian place with vegan options. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't miss the meat. The crispy tofu was golden and crispy on the outside and silky smooth inside 8.2/10. The hot pot was flavorful, sure it would have been better with some real meat hahaha 6.7/10. The green curry was tasty and actually was great with the crispy tofu 7/10. Pad See Eww was really good 8/10. Fried rice also very tasty 8/10.

We came on a busy Wednesday work lunch with a group of eight people. They were able to see us fairly quickly. This place gets packed during lunchtime so plan accordingly. Our suggestions would be to try their spring roll sampler and their green lotus salad. Just super fresh and superb. I can't believe it's all vegan! Such a gem in the community. And if youre not vegetarian or vegan, def try this place!

Tried this place for the first time after a long road trip and it hit the spot. None of us are fully vegan, but this was quite delicious. What we ordered in order of excellence: 1. Shaken beef 10/10 2. Green lotus salad 9/10 3. Bbq ham rolls 8/10 4. Pho noodle soup 7/10 Restrooms is fairly clean and free parking in the shared lot. Clean, pleasant casual interior. Very friendly and fast service! Will be returning next I'm in the Bay Area to try more dishes.

    R7. Combination Vermicelli Bowl
    Cassie B.

Came here for a Sunday lunch. Was greeted upon entering the restaurant and was able to order quickly. I ordered the vermicelli noodle bowl with tofu nuggets. The nuggets were fried to perfection, for a vermicelli bowl it had very little carrots and cucumbers, I wish there had been a little more to balance the amount of bean sprouts and lettuce. Other than that it was delicious and flavorful, especially with the vegan fish sauce. My boyfriend ordered the pho soup and it was absolutely delicious, you could taste really strong notes of cinnamon and the broth was very flavorful, I guarantee any normal person wouldn't believe it was vegan. Overall we had a good experience and I'd recommend others give this spot a try

Delicious Vietnamese vegetarian food. Taste and portion is very good. Restaurant is very clean and modern. Parking lot is small though. What we ordered: Pork belly in clay pot Lemongrass fish Shaking beef

    Chicken R7. Combination Vermicelli Bowl
    Loella D.

Great veggie spot with a wide selection! The ambiance was giving local spot that the neighborhood frequents as foot traffic was consistent, and service is straight forward. I ordered a ton to try a variety since it was my first time, and the portions were so large - definitely to share. The fried oyster seemed like a must try and was the standout dish for me, its seasoned perfectly and the texture is crispy. I've had better vermecelli plates but it wasn't too bad and the spring rolls had a nice crisp. I'd probably opt for something different next time. I wouldn't say I love it but it's great for what it is: Affordable, abundant selection of vegetarian food that doesn't make you feel like you're missing out.

There are other places I can go as backups, but when I want the complete bánh cuốn meal, this is the place to go. Food (5 stars) + The Đặc Biệt is still the #1 order here. It's a huge plate and you get a little bit of everything: the plain rice rolls with shrimp sprinkled on top, bánh cuốn stuffed with meat, pork roll, egg roll, and their crispy fried shrimp cake. Everything complements each other perfectly. + The rice rolls are soft and fresh, and I especially like the ones stuffed with meat. Pour their sweet and savory fish sauce all over it and add some of the red chili peppers if you want some heat. Excellent! + Their fried items are also what separates this place from some of the others. The egg roll is crispy and the fried shrimp cake actually has a nice big shrimp on there. Even the slightly steamed bean sprouts and herbs work perfectly with everything else on the plate. + This time I ordered the smaller plate with just the meat-filled bánh cuốn instead of the Đặc Biệt. It's around $15 and is actually the perfect amount for me where I'm full but not overly stuffed. However, for only a couple bucks more, I'd still recommend the Đặc Biệt. You just get so much more food! Service/Ambiance (3.5-4 stars) + Service is pretty standard for a Vietnamese restaurant. They're not constantly coming around to refill your water, but if you raise your hand or flag someone down, they'll come over and help you. Nobody is looking the other way pretending they didn't see you! + The restaurant itself is pretty small inside, but they have a much larger outdoor seating area. We came during lunch and didn't have to wait long. + I brought my dog Marley so we sat outside. It was a warm day but there was enough airflow that it was actually pretty comfortable. - One strange thing I've noticed during my last two visits: the water has a slight soapy taste. Maybe that's proof they do an excellent job washing their cups, but they could probably use an extra rinse! This time I just brought my own water. 4 years after my original 5-star review, nothing has really changed for me. I've had plenty of bánh cuốn around the Bay Area and this is still the place I compare everyone else to. The service and ambiance might only be around 3.5-4 stars, but I'm not coming here for fancy service. I'm coming for bánh cuốn, and the food is still 5 stars!

We've probably eaten here 50+ times with family and friends, and one thing I can say is that they are 100% consistent. We've never had a bad meal here. There's a great variety of Vietnamese dishes, so everyone can usually find something they like. The chả cá (fish) is one of their popular dishes and a favorite. They also have good chicken phở, broken rice, vermicelli noodles, spring rolls, roll-your-own options, and plenty of soups beyond phở. You can order individual dishes or share family-style, which makes it especially easy when coming with a group. It's very casual, family-friendly, quick, and straightforward--nothing fancy and probably not where I'd choose for a date night. But for a dependable meal with family or friends, it's a great spot. Kids like it, parents like it, and my mom likes it--which says a lot coming from an older Vietnamese person who knows her Vietnamese food! The staff is always efficient and nice, and after all these years, the food remains consistently good. The biggest downside is parking. The entire shopping center has become so busy with restaurants that finding a spot can be overwhelming, especially during peak hours. Also, keep in mind they do not take credit cards. The faded print and worn condition made them look as though they hadn't been replaced in years. Those details created an impression of neglect that made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal.
