I called yesterday trying to set up an appointment for my dog. I mentioned that this was a new appointment and we just found out our dog has cancer. I attempted to set up an appointment for a Saturday and was told new clients can't have a Saturday appointment. I then asked the latest appointments they have during the week and was told 4pm. I said, "okay, I'll need to think about it because I obviously have a full time job." I called back 20 minutes later after speaking to my partner about when he could possibly leave work to take our dog there and they didn't take my calls for the rest of the day. I even left a voicemail. Really unkind service towards someone who just told you their dog is dying. We will go somewhere more compassionate and flexible. read more

My dog, Cranberry, recently hurt her back. And because my girlfriend has been diagnosed (by me) as an obsessive, crazy dog woman, she spoke to a person at work who suggested we visit Loving Touch Animal Center. Verdict? One of the best I've ever made in 2019. We met Dr. Rosie, a woman who is basically like Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman for pets. She has a big heart, a big ol' brain, and magical touch, and upon meeting her Cranberry, who is basically like the Daria in a poodle + havanese + schnauzer form, my grumpy dog fell in love with her. After a thorough examination and explaining what she thought was happening to my girl (in addition to feeding her lots of tasty snacks), Dr. Rosie treated her. Treated her with what you say? Acupuncture. M********g acupuncture (which I have yet to do myself). And after the session, Cranberry (who can in hella grumpy) had the biggest smile on her face! We also received a prescription of Chinese herbs and scheduled several follow up visits. lol. And if that weren't enough, after chatting it up with the world's best vet, she brought out her pet squirrel! lol. Will be back! read more

We found a Stray dog by my office who was in relatively good health but without a collar. I gave Loving Touch a call and they were willing to run the scanner over him to see if he was microchipped. They told me to come on in and they scanned him for a chip along with giving a general assessment of his health free of charge. We ended up adopting out this awesome dog and id definitely recommend Loving Touch if I lived in the area. read more

Dr. Michelle and her staff always go above and beyond for our dogs. What is different about Dr. Michelle compared to other vets we have seen in the past is that she will find the root cause of an issue and not just prescribe a drug to mask the problem. Dr. Michelle uses a combination of Eastern and Western medicine to treat our animals, including acupuncture and chiropractic treatments. She treats my dogs and all of my fosters. We drive 40 minutes in no traffic to Loving Touch and I would never consider a closer vet. read more

Loving Touch is an amazing Vet practice, from their receptionist to their techs to their DVMs. Dr.Michelle and Dr.Rosie are very knowledgeable in their their crafts, and have treated both of my dogs, one of which I adopted from their clinic. The techs are very knowledgeable, and the best of people. Margie in rehab is the kindest of souls, and I've seen the amazing work she's capable of giving these animals, not to mention Tiffany has amazing customer service and grooming skills! Summary: they gave my dog some Chinese herbs, he had a bad reaction, and my attempts to contact a vet were ignored. My trainer recommended I bring my dog here. Going in to the appointment, I was very optimistic that it would be more than worth the cost and 40+ mile round trip. I brought my dog in to see Dr. Kevin Brantly. Everyone we came in contact with was warm, kind, friendly, and clearly loved animals. They charge more for a first visit (I paid $80), but they set aside an hour for first time patients, which I like. After paying my $130 bill, my dog and I went home with two Chinese herbal concoctions that I was told had calming properties. I was told how often to administer them, but was not given any other information. Two nights later, my dog started behaving oddly. He vomited then was shaking and was very out of it. This lasted for over an hour but eventually subsided. It was late, and I considered taking him to a 24 hour vet clinic, but thankfully his symptoms subsided. I stopped giving him both herbal concoctions from Loving Touch. My dog had never had symptoms like this before, and has not since. When I spoke with Loving Touch the next day, I got the impression that my dog's reaction was not unheard of. The woman (whom I don't believe was a vet or a vet tech) recommended I start him back on both herbs, but at a lower dose and increase it over time. She did not tell me which of the two herbs were was likely the cause of his reaction (kinda scary since one was a liquid I squirted into the drinking water that my other dog drinks). Of course I have not given either of the herbs to my dog. I asked to speak with Dr. Brantly, she said he was busy and that she would have him call me back. I asked to speak with the practice manager, and was sent to voicemail. Neither person has contacted me, which I think is unprofessional and irresponsible. Thankfully my dog is back to normal, and I didn't go to the 24 vet clinic (who knows how much that could have run). I think it's a shame that Loving Touch gives us herbs without any information as to how they work and possible adverse reactions and is unresponsive to multiple phone messages. From now on, I am sticking to conventional veterinary medicine. read more

This is a traditional vet with added holistic and alternative services, such as accupuncture and homeopathy. It was recommended by our dog's oncologist, who says they send clients there frequently. We went for a nutritional consultation to work with our dog's chemo treatments. You can read more (from me and others) on other web sites. It seems like a lot of people have great experiences and feel that the vets here find solutions for problems, such as allergies and immune problems, when other vets don't. Our experience was not so great. It was expensive, relative to the service we were promised and the retail cost of the supplements we bought. The vet who worked with us gave a lot of contadictory instructions, and we basically had to figure things out for ourselves with the dog's diet, despite asking for written instructions and calling back to get clarification. That said, we're comfortable making those kinds of decisions, and do believe the vet had some good advice about changing from a premium food to a specialty food that would be easier for our dog to digest. I don't think we'll be back, but we learned some things that should help ease our dog's comfort as the illness progresses. Not sure the $225 for one visit, fish oil, and vitamins was really worth it. Be prepared with questions (we were), insist on getting answers (we tried), and insist on the full time you need with the vet (we gave up). Then ask for written prescriptions and buy the meds elsewhere (we were idiots). Alternative vet medicine is an admirable and useful service to offer, the medical staff seems to be well-trained (according to the web site), and the other staff was really friendly, but we left feeling scammed instead of helped. read more

I have had dachshunds for over 40 years. I had one that was a total maniac and with Dr. Michelle he lived a very long productive life, that was 25 yrs ago. I have recently started taking another baby that back had totally gone out due to disc disease she inherited from her father. Dr. Michelle has put her loving touch with chiropractic and acupuncture treatments on Raft and she is now running around almost back to normal and I see her getting back to normal after a little more time of healing. I highly recommend Loving Touch Animal Center over surgery. That is what the other doctors thought I should do but didn't because I knew from past experiences. read more

Dr. Kevin saw our dog on Saturday, this is the second time he has treated her and again I am so thankful for the kindness and care he gave to my animal. He is like no other vet I have been to before. He sat on the floor with my dog (no cold, slippery metal tables in the rooms) and was able to put her and her nervous parents into a relaxed state. It was obvious that he really cared about finding out why my dog was hurting. I was mesmerized just watching him go from neck to leg to paw until he identified the problem. I do not understand why this business is not given more five stars when reviewers are leaving positive reviews. Vet care is expensive, you are in control of accepting or rejecting medications that are being offered. I think $50 for a 1/2 hour visit is reasonable especially since my dog is more relaxed being treated on the floor and by a vet who is very loving and patient towards her. Dr Kevin and his team are a remarkable group of professionals who truly care about the health, well-being and comfort of your favorite creatures. I was going to Midtown location since I live very close to that one but had a medical emergency for my 15-yr old cat on a Monday when they weren't open so had to come here. Dr Kevin is so gentle and knowledgeable - perfect type of person to handle cats, Esp kranky ones! (He has a cat as well as a few dogs of his own). The whole staff was helpful and caring and accommodating to me in my emergency situations. read more

Our dog has been going to Loving Touch for a few years now. With much regret, I am in the process of finding a new vet. There seems to be a sudden change in front desk and tech staff. From one month to the next, it seemed like everyone left. When there's change like that, I always sense a "red flag". We continued to go, but the staff was very rude and abrupt with me. This is not the way to treat faithful clients. They also lost test results which meant my dog needed the test done again, at my expense. Understandably, things happen. I get that. What I don't get is the rude treatment when I called back to ask questions. MOST of the doctors and techs are wonderful. The problem is in how is run. Have your questions ready before your pet's exam, follow up of text results, and ignore the rude people working the front, and you will have a good experience. read more

I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Michelle since she first opened her practice in the Village of Stone Mountain. She and the entire staff are totally invested in each and every pet I have brought in as if it were the ONLY animal they were seeing that day. They have seen me through general check-ups where everything was normal, acupuncture and chiropractic on 2 dogs - one a Pekingese with knee cap issues and a very long back, and one 100 pound yellow lab who had mobility issues due to disc problems in his back and neck, and the ultimate final goodbye with 2 of my dogs. I go well out of my way, driving about 30 miles one way, past several other practices, to take my pets to the best. But my pets are worth it! read more

I take my dogs to Loving Touch to see Dr. Michelle, who we adore. I love her holistic sensibilities and balance of typical vs holistic methods. Her bedside manner is awesome. She spends a lot of time with us each visit and really takes the time to help us understand our dog's ailments. Not to mention she has a wonderful nurturing way with our dogs. We took our chihuahua here when he was sick with heart issues and now he's thriving and we are managing his health well. At 14 he's super vibrant and I wouldn't trust anyone else with him. read more

Hooray! for Loving Touch. Dr. Pat & Dr. Kevin & the staff in Stone Mtn. are some of Caesar's favorites. Caesar was diagnosed with a probably cancerous tumor at the rear of his tongue in August. You can imagine our terror. They put us so at ease with shared knowledge & info. We were prescribed some NO COST antibiotics with excellent suggestions for add'l treatment. Caesar had a problem with oral bleeding on Oct. 7th, we just dropped into the Center the next day, they took great care of us on the spot. They used to be great, and it pains me to have to write this review. However, the people who made it great no longer work there, and the loss of Dr. Kevin Brantly was the final nail in the coffin. Here is a prim example of the poor quality of care you can expect from this practice. We had rescued a kitten and took it to LT for the initial examination. The day before his follow-up he developed an upper respiratory tract infection with a high fever and complete loss of appetite. LT couldn't see him that morning, I had an unavoidable legal obligation that afternoon, and there is no way I could drop him off and leave. So, I begged them to phone in a 1 day supply of antibiotic so as not to delay therapy, and I would bring him in the next day. I was told by this very belligerent tech, Matthew, that it was against the law to do that, that he would go to jail. True, a tech can't prescribe, but then he stated that by law the vet couldn't either. This is a complete and total lie. As long as there is an established and current relationship with the practice, then the vet can prescribe without immediately seeing the patient. When I tried to bring these facts to Matthew's attention, he continually interrupted me and eventually disconnected. It's obvious that LT only cares about getting as much money as they can instead of the health and welfare of their patients. Good thing Gwinnett Animal Hospital is around. They could see my kitten immediately, and he was 100% better within 24 hours. My advice is to avoid Loving Touch, if you value your pet's health, and go to Gwinnett Animal Hospital. read more

I went there for accupuncture and must agree, that the people and service is great. I do however have a hard time with paying for things I don't get. Accupuncure sessions for dogs start at $47, which seemed fine to me. It still adds up as you need several sessions to make any impact, but it was worth it to me. Then I found out that you also pay $45 to walk in there, any time you walk in there, no matter what!!! It's called a 30-minute consultation fee )instead of a welcome to our office-fee, but where is the difference!). After the first visit, I saw the vet for 5-10 minutes each session, maybe two of those she was not sticking needles into my dog (that should be covered under the accupuncture charge). There is no way to avoid those fees, which means they should price accupuncture at $92+, not $47. You can find better and more honest vets for alternative practices all around Atlanta. read more

Please do not expect for the owner of this business to address any concerns you may have with their services. I took my dog in because she was exhibiting signs of a full anal gland. She was in pain and would not stand up on her back legs. I took my dog in for a tech visit and the technicians basically stood in front of me and fought over who didn't want to do it. Can you imagine your dog is in pain and you take them in to relieve them of their pain, and to see the staff that is paid to do the service, literally pass it on over and over again, in front of you? I went through 3 technicians before someone actually came out to take my dog back. What made it worse was an employee (Margie) who witness the incident, comes over to me and sit beside me to tell me how great the place is, and how caring the employees are. It was such an insult to have witness what I saw and then for someone to insult my intelligence by trying to make me believe I didn't see what I saw. I told her before bringing my dog by, I read reviews about the facility going downhill, but I brought my dog due to not just listening to reviews but from what I experienced, I had to agree. She went on to tell me, the facility is not going downhill. It was clear that the employee was not about the concerns and treatment of the patient, she was not about to see the situation through the lens of a patient but through the biasness of an employee. What made things worst was that by the time a technician finally volunteered to take her back, I was told I would have to wait in the waiting area. I have been to this vet many times before and I was NEVER asked to sit in the waiting area while they tended to my dog. Now, you as a owner, imagine for a moment, you witnessed the passing on of no one wanting to take care of your pet and then finally someone takes her and say they are going to do it, but behind close doors, would you not feel nervous of the whole idea? Are they going to really do it? Will they be rough with her and hurt her seeing that no one wanted to do it in the first place? Will they cause my dog more pain? When they came out with her, they all did this song and dance of how good she was, laughing with her, rubbing her, all smiles and everything is great. I left with my dog only concern with her relief of pain and when I got home and really thought through the whole situation, I decided to call the office and leave my information for the owner of the facility(Dr. Michelle Tilghman) to give me a call. When I called and gave my information to an employee and reiterated my concern, I was told that the owner was made aware of the incident. Well, Do you know it has been over two weeks and no one called me from the office? This is why I say on this review do not expect for any concern you may have to be handled, because I presented my concern about the unprofessional behavior of the staff at a time when I was already dealing with my concerns for my dog and no one called me back. All I wanted to hear was a simple, " We apologize for what you experienced, you should not have experience what you went through and we take these type of issues, seriously." I really cant believe how badly we were treated here. I would not recommend using them for your beloved pet. I made an appointment for a Saturday and they made me pay a $50 deposit. I waited 2 weeks for the appointment and delayed care for my dog waiting for this appointment. I called to confirm my appointment and they said they are cancelling it with no explanation then absolutely no accommodation for rescheduling. I mostly dealt with Margie - she was rude and they clearly don't care about your animals here. She treated me like I cancelled the appointment. They weren't even going to call me and tell me - I actually called them to confirm my time and that is when they told me my appointment is cancelled and they were not going to reschedule it and that they had made an exception seeing me in the first place which they would not make again. I wont be going back because of the way I was treated. I asked to speak with the office manager and was told I couldn't speak to them. I still need to be refunded my deposit for the appointment that they made me pay. I would not recommend to take your pet here. read more

They always put my dog's needs above any financial gain for themselves as well. Its been a couple of years, but I will never forget when my English Bulldog was struggling to breath, I was told that Dr Kevin was too busy. Several hours later my dogs choked on her own mucous. I brought her back and said "she is in desperate need of the Doctor. Dr Kevin looked at me and said "how long has she been like this"? "Like this?only a few minutes, but if you had seen her before she wouldn't be like this" I replied. Oh Dr Kevin responded "Is this your dog I thought it was one of the rescues next door". I still can't get those chilling words out of my mind. I did complain to the Manager in charge of Loving Touch. Alls I got was, "You should have insisted to see Dr Kevin, if it was my dog I would have insisted". My dog passed away last month from kidney disease but you have to know she never went back to Loving Touch. read more

Our primary vet was treating our dog for IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). Went to Dr. Tilghman NOT for a 2nd opinion, but for a holistic approach to treating IBD. I explained to Dr. Tilghman that the IBD treatment protocol made a huge difference and that the one time I took him off the traditional IBD treatment protocol, he became sick again. After "listening" to the history, Dr. Tilghman confidently asserted that she did not think he had IBD. The visits with her were expensive, and I was completely confused. I regret the day I walked in that door at Loving Touch because it started us down the wrong path that led to our dog getting very, very sick. $4500 and many tears later, we did the expensive scoping and an ultrasound to confirm that he does indeed have IBD. We are now back to the traditional treatment protocol and he has been completely asymptomatic ever since. It really was so obvious given the history, but when an expert tells you otherwise, well, we started to doubt our own common sense. The only thing I can figure is that she did not carefully listen to the history, which makes me just as upset as if we were intentionally misled. read more

You think this being a veterinary clinic, this will be the idea place to leave your pet, think again. This was my first and last time ever taking my dogs to this place. " Loving" is not the work to describe this facility. I left my two boxers, one 7years old and the other 10 months over the Christmas holiday. No one informed me that I would be unable to check on my dogs. I called several times and received no answer. I also left several message and no one returned my call. When I returned, I went to pick up my dogs and was told that the person was at lunch from12 noon until 3:00 pm and that I will have to wait. Who takes a three hour lunch? This was unacceptable. I demanded that someone come and release my dogs. When my dogs were released to me, my 7 year old boxer was wet and was having trouble walking. The vet stated maybe it was the whether, but the weather was in the 70's. My dogs are inside dogs and neither have any health problems and they were both fine when I left them there. They did not do x-ray to find out what was wrong, just gave him an anti-inflammatory and wanted me to pay. Pay for their mistake. Really??? I will be taking my dog to his regular vet to be checked.
