Came up to get a meatball sub based on the online menu and pictures - unfortunately they didn't have it 'today'. There were quite a few items on the menu that they had 'blacked out' with blue tape. So, I had to resort to something else. Even so, the BBQ Sandwich and BBQ Baked Beans was delicious and definitely had me wanting more. Low and Slow is nice addition to the BBQ Leavenworth/Lansing scene, what little scene there is anyways.

Brisket sandwich, bbq baked beans and fry basket

For the price of the food the portions are very small. The brisket sandwich is $8 and it's as small as great value hamburger buns from Walmart. My fry basket is okay in taste, but I expected a larger portion size for what you pay for. Inside/Outside of the restaurant was very clean and organized and inside they were playing a country music playlist. Overall : 2/5

Visited this restaurant on a Friday afternoon at 4:30pm to beat the rush. Ordered a slab of ribs ($28), pulled pork sandwich, macaroni, beans, and slaw. They were out of ribs! We were told to if we wanted to wait until 6, they would have some for us. Wish the wait staff would have known about this ahead of time. Decided to go with their $8.75 brisket sandwich. Took our order to go. Should have checked our order before we left. But, luckily they aren't too far away to go back and get my order corrected. Brisket (what little there was) had a great smoke flavor, and very tender! Pulled pork was equally good! Beans were good. But, a little horseradishy. And, I like little bits of burnt end or ham in them. These did not. Coleslaw and Macaroni were good. All in all, I might go back and try their ribs (I'll call ahead). But, not too impressed.

Brisket was flavorable. The wings had a great smoky taste. The sweet potato fries were a great combination of crispy with a soft middle. However, they could use the help of a decorator, couldn't tell what the feel (theme) of the place. Plus, the tables weren't very comfortable for a larger person. Would also like to see some house sauces on the table. The food is definately worth visiting for, they just need to take the atmosphere to the next level.

Have been here a few times now. Local business that has transitioned from more of a food truck setup to this new location. There are not many choices for BBQ in this area, so nice to have a new option. Small menu, but a few unique options. I have had the fry basket twice (bed of crinkle fries covered with pulled chicken or pork, melted cheese and bbq sauce). It is to mild for me, so I added sliced jalapeños (pickled). Rest of menu was mostly sandwiches. Will go back for convenience and to support local, but for the best KC BBQ will travel to other parts of metro area.

Stopped by Low N Slow for lunch, which seems like the perfect time to catch them. The food was nice and rich, and the sauce was perfect in the KC Style. We ordered half a slab of ribs and beans, and a brisket sandwich plus fries. The servings were ample and more than enough to fill you up. The cook on the ribs was excellent and you could smell more going as you walk in the door. There aren't a lot of places to sit, but that's OK, at lunchtime there were plenty of spaces and the place itself was clean and well kept. Will definitely visit again and would recommend it! I might call ahead if you are coming later in the day, I drive by at 6:30 AM on my way to look at land often, and they are out there cooking; I know that's what can get done by lunchtime. If you smoke meats on your own, you know the rules of cooking at low heat, and slow cook for the right tenderness. So, call ahead if you have questions but it's worth it to go!

We tried their new brick and mortar location on K7 in Lansing. We've enjoyed their food truck on a couple of occasions prior to them opening the dine in location. Nothing remarkable in comparison to other bbq joints in KC, but respectable. The meats could use a little more seasoning and the side dish cooked a bit more, but we will visit again.

One of my favorite bbq places, everything I've had here has been amazing. I've never had a issue with the food or the workers.

My wings had chewy rubbery skin and just barely cooked. Fried pickles were lukewarm and breading was stale. Since they were busy, I opted for the self serve beer, but kept running into multiple empty kegs and getting charged for foam - requiring adjusting my tab. Second time. Not busy at all, but still took 20-minutes for our inattentive server to take our drink order. Took 15-minutes to get a beer and they never brought a menu. By then, I was absolutely not eating and ready to leave. Took another 30-minutes to get my check. My group stayed to drink and flirt with the server. Third time. Not busy, yet very slow (and unprofessional) service. I ordered a salad because I figured it's hard to mess up a salad. It was good. (Incidentally, I sampled one of my friend's wings to test whether my first experience was the norm or a really bad day. The wings were ok. Definitely had better but they weren't disgusting like my first trip.) Also had a beer. It took a very long time to get our order and the server rarely checked on the table (but they had time to shoot the breeze with coworkers). I tipped well-above what I felt they deserved because servers rely on tips; however, I cannot recommend this place. I get the sense that the owners are good people and the servers are friendly when you finally get to talk to them. I'd say they need more training. Not sure how long they've been around, but I'm amazed they're still in business.

My dinner tonight at Ten Penny tonight with family was one of those that failed to meet expectations. I should have heeded the feedback from my sister on the terrible experience that she had at Ten Penny a few months previously. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of choices in Leavenworth other than fast food or Mexican on a Sunday evening so I thought maybe Ten Penny had improved since my sister's poor experience. My family, 5 adults and two children, were seated just prior to 6:20 pm. There really wasn't that many other diners, the restaurant was half full at best. We ordered probably around 6:30 and waited, and waited, and waited for our food. Finally our server stopped at our table 45+ minutes later to let us know that they were out of French fries, of all things. What restaurant runs out of French fries? Isn't that a staple in American restaurants? The two kids meals were finally brought out with hash browns instead of fries. I really like the Pork Classic at Metropolitan Steakhouse here in Leavenworth so thought I would order the Ten Penny Twin Pork Cops, which is supposed to be center-cut and glazed smoky BBQ sauce. What I received, as can be seen in the pic was nothing like the menu description. Not center cut, no BBQ sauce. Simply thin, dry, grilled pork chops. I'll stick with the Metropolitan Pork Classic at Metropolitan Steakhouse. The server, Graham, was very apologetic, and overall was a solid server. I did get comped 50% off on the food, so there is that. Just not a good experience though. Nice atmosphere/ambiance, bright and inviting.

They have plenty of inside seating and a lovely deck for nicer weather. I did notice that the more the dinning area filled the louder it got. My hubs ordered the special and the $2 margarita. I got the herb chicken bacon pasta. The margarita was terrible! It tasted very watered down and lacking alcohol. He did not even finish it! The daily special sandwich was a beef brisket with slaw, jalapeños and Gouda cheese. He said it was very good however he could not taste the Gouda at all. The sandwich came with salt and pepper fries that are definitely a show stealer! They were a wide thin cut and seasoned perfectly. My pasta had a generous serving of herb chicken on top of Bucatini pasta in a creamy garlic sauce with spinach, bacon and cherry tomatoes. It was flavorful without being over garlicky. I would have liked if it was served with some bread to soak up the delicious sauce. Our server was attentive. Our food came out quickly. Overall it was a good experience though I would avoid the margarita special.

Rodney took the time to allow me to try over 20 flavors. He really took the time to talk to me and made sure I knew about their process and the allergens that were in each flavor. You could tell that they really care about the product they are selling and they care about who they are selling to! My two favorites were the sour cream and cheddar and the kettle corn. I like that the sour cream and cheddar was savory and salty and was simply delicious! The kettle corn was not too sweet or salty; and did not taste artificial, which I found was the case with many commerical kettle corn brands.
