Loved their beer! They had this sports drink seltzer that sounded pretty weird at first but I was a believer at first sip. They had a food truck out front too (Chicken Fats that day). They have plenty of outdoor seating including a fire pit and low table bench seating. They have indoor seating as well, and you can order at the bar from both inside and outside. There's also a pretty big private parking area as well. I will definitely check them out again during the summer vibes!
Low Tide is honestly one of the best breweries in Charleston SC! I am obsessed with the Blue Quencher Seltzer. The beertenders were so fun and helpful with our orders and we tried so many different things but the seltzer are still our favorites! It's a charming and chill brewery out on John's island. But it has a good amount of comfortable seating inside and out. Definitely recommend!!! We will be coming back to visit!
Low Tide has been my favorite brewery for 8 years. Low Tide I love you, I can't believe I've never posted a review. If you're anywhere near Charleston SC you need to visit low tide. It's a whole vibe, super friendly, my fav place in the world. Love you all!
This is such a fun little spot. There is a ton of parking, tons of seating, both indoor and outdoor, and the staff is always great, no matter how busy they are. They often have tasty food trucks and they have small snacks available at the bar. There is a fire pit outside and really nice outdoor space. They have a nice variety of beer choices, as well as a couple of seltzers, and sometimes a frozen option. Didn't expect to like their blue quencher seltzer, but it's so light and refreshing! I will definitely continue to stop in when able.
Low Tide Brewing on Johns Island offers a laid-back island vibe with a strong sense of community. If you can't pick just one beer, go for a flight--four (4oz) pours of your choice for just $12. Want a keepsake? Upgrade to the souvenir package and take home a flight glass for $15. I recently tried the Blue Quencher hard seltzer, and it was a definite winner. Worth checking out! Friendly staff too!
This brewery never disappoints and they usually have a great food truck. During my most recent visit I tried the Strawberry Banana Slushy and Strawberries and Cream Ale. Loved both! Service great as usual. Had a bite to eat from AROI Thai food truck which I highly recommend if you run into them. Plenty of seating and a Photo Booth to catch you at your finest, lol!
Huge inviting indoor space with great beer choices! We enjoyed our first visit here so much that we came back again before we left town.
Would rate this as 4.5 stars as the folks who serve are friendly, the beer is good and those who were hanging out all looked to be having a great time!
Great place. Staff very friendly. My husband enjoyed his IPA's. Glasses, sweatshirts and t-shirts for sale with their cute logo.
Good beer in a serene environment- Low Tide is worth the trip if you're in the Low Country. Not sure about food options but they do not allow dogs, so leave Fido at home. Ample parking around back and ample seating both inside and out. Recommend the IPAs - great flavor without tipping over into bitterness.
Only brewery on the island, but it's a good one. The Kolsch, Red Ale, and Wheat beers were all outstanding. Food truck was on site. Only down side is dogs are not allowed on premises which is surprising and disappointing, which is the reason for a 4 not a 5. We didn't have our pooch with us but good thing we didn't.
I visited Low Tide Brewery yesterday with some out of town friends. Wanted to let them experience the layed back Johns Island vibe at the local brewery. Low Tide has plenty of seating both inside and out. The place is dog friendly at the outside tables. The staff was friendly and quick to get our drinks. There is a wide variety of beers to choose from. We decided to do a flight of beers. We selected 12 different beers to sample. Was not disappointed with any of them. If you don't like a specific beer, they will replce it with something you do like. If you're hungry, they have snacks you can purchase, or there is a food truck on the property. If you're looking for a fun and relaxing time, I would recommend Low Tide Brewery.
When I first came here I wasn't impressed. I'd been there probably twice and the beers were good but completely different each time. I went to another local brewery and they became my spot. I got talked into giving Low Tide another chance and I couldn't be happier that I did. They've firmed up their core beer menu while still having amazing rotating brews. The vibe is awesome as well. Whether it's Monday night bingo, Tuesday night Cornhole or Wednesday night trivia... there's always a way to come, have fun and earn free beer. They have the best staff around who make an effort to get to know you and take great care of you every time you visit. Nick is the greatest master of ceremonies for all things game related, and Zach and Dan are unmatched as bartenders. Whether you're and islander or just visiting... this is the place for you.

Charleston is honored and blessed to have such a healthy and diverse craft beer presence. This community has really raised the bar for quality beer and with the support of the local restaurant industry has gotten the word out much further than Charleston This is one of the newest addition to the local breweries in the Charleston area. Located on John's Island, this small warehouse looking building is a great spot. Open afternoons and evening with ample parking, indoor and outdoor seating and a good beer mix, this is a great hot spot for a quick drink or a lazy day of binging. The beer menu is simple and the staff is open to provide you samples of any selection. A pint will run $5.00 up. Very reasonable. Loved this place. Relatively small selection of beers but they all came packed with a punch! The $7 flight deal for 4 beers with a 4 ounce pour was a great deal... especially to try some one the higher ABV beers for the same price. We loved the Hush Yer Mouth and the Red Barista. Service was great and they even gave us names of other spots to check out while we were in town. Definitely check this place out read more

I had the good fortune of getting a kolsch from a Lowes food location while grocery shopping. That one beer was so good we have been to the brewery twice now. They have an awesome place on John's Island. The brewery is dog friendly, spacious, the staff is incredibly friendly, and it is now my favorite brewery in the area. Low Tide, please continue exactly what you are doing. It is fantastic. We have picked up growlers. We bought some of their adorable pint glasses. We have honestly whole heartedly gotten behind this brewery. They are doing craft beer right. We have a growler in our refrigerator just waiting for Friday as I type. They don't serve food, but are next to an Italian restaurant that smells AMAZING, and have food trucks in occasion. Moral of the story: go drink a beer and fall in love for yourself. read more

The absolute best local brewery in Charleston. We are proud to have Lowtide on Johns Island. With their variety of food trucks, bingo, trivia, fire pit, giant jenga,cornhole,and delicious magical potions that they constantly add to their menu,they have become my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BREWERY!! read more
Great beer and great atmosphere! While they don't serve food, they have a different food truck parked out front each night of the week! Tonight especially was a comfortable January night which made sitting outside by the fire fantastic! The staff is always friendly and they always have a great selection of rotating beers! Great beer and a great place to hang out. When in town I always have to stop by for a growler or two and a few samples. The selection was awesome and I ended up taking Home A Peach of Habanero and the Irish Red Ale. I tried a few others. The sour (Drink to get Lei'd) was good. A nice sipping beer. Purdy Good IPA was just okay and the Basil Better have my Honey was outstanding. Low tide has a lot of room inside and out. The taproom is inviting and cozy. They usually have a food truck on site and are dog friendly. My only issue with Low Tide is with the staff. I mention this because it has happened to me on the last three occasions I've visited. And in fact if it wasn't for the fact that I really really like their beer, I wouldn't go back. So the reason this is a four star and not a five is because of the customer service aspect. So I go up to the bar area to order a flight to sample and my growlers. (I already knew what growlers I wanted). There was one person to my left and a few others at the bar but it wasn't crowded. Most of the tables were full however. There were three people working behind the bar. So after a couple minutes and waiting on other people the lady behind the bar comes my way. To my surprise she asks the guy to my left if he needs anything and then goes to the guy to my right that had just walked up. Completely skipping over me (no beer in hand, nothing but a empty bar in front of me). I'm thinking here we go again. She serves him and then gets the next guy that had walked up and then three others at the end of the bar before finally coming back my way and I made sure to grab her attention. Finally after about fifteen minutes I had my flight while my growlers were being filled. I realize they are busy but it's not rocket science to see people right in front of you and then to skip right over. My guess is she saw familiar faces and I was not one of them. As I said this similar scenario has happened to me on my last three trips to Low Tide. So the four stars is for the beer and beer only. Customer Service gets a one star today. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVED Low Tide Brewing. This place is so charming and laid back that I felt right at home; though I was 1300 miles from home! They even had the MN Vikings game on as the bartender was a fan! (I am not a fan, but it was cool to see a SC local digging on my home state's team no matter how bad they are...) We, albeit poorly, decided to get a flight and two pints each before we had anything to eat so we got nice and buzzed before lunch. (or maybe that was a good idea?) All of the beers were tasty but the two that blew it out of the park for me were: Basil Better Have My Honey: Brewed with basil and you guessed it, honey. This was so interesting and delicious! Motorboatin' Melons: Not only is the name of this beer hilarious and gives you a good mental visual it's also SUPER tasty. It's tart and a bit sour but balanced nicely with sweet juicy fresh watermelon and watermelon honey - what the what?! Yes, it's a thing that exists and is clearly amazing. It tastes strangely familiar and I couldn't put my finger on it until the very last minute. It tastes EXACTLY like Lip Smackers Watermelon Flavor Chapstick! In a good way, of course. My childhood suddenly flashed before my eyes. Lip Smackers, Slap on Bracelets, Jelly Shoes...I am going to need this to be distributed to my local liquor store in MN; please and thanks! Aside from everything aforementioned the things that actually put this place over the top for me was how dog friendly they are. There was this one guy that just made the joint his; he was nonchalantly walking behind the bar, sniffin around, grabbing a drink from the water bowl, saying hi to folks, then finally plopped down behind my boyfriend's chair for a nap. It was hilarious. Soon more dogs arrived and they all were just cool to wander and roam the place to their heart's desire. I LOVED it. And it made me miss our dogs BADLY. We wanted to fly back home and get them just so they could come and hang out here with us. I give this place 5 woofs out of 5. Can't wait to return with our pups in tow! (no pun intended) read more

Loved it. First very welcoming, with tones of friendly smiles. The brewery is definitely very nice and with a huge outside seating areas which is a big plus for summer and last but not the least the beers are Yum. Coming from Jersey we have loads of craft breweries, but that's definitely a very good one. Wide choices from IPA to Sour , then kolech ect. Go you won't regret it, just watch out that you don't heeled too much when you leave ;) read more

I found this brewery when I tried one of their sours at mellow mushroom. Loved it and wanted to try more!. We got here and it was pretty busy but thankfully found a high top table. I ordered a flight of beers: strawberry shortcake, sombrero saison, rock the boat and nitro creamsicle. I also got the one sour I loved, drink to get laid. I was surprised at your strawberry tasting the strawberry shortcake was. I thought the nitro creamsicle was interesting because it tasted like a creamsicle but sour. Not my favorite. The sombrero saison was ok, but not much there since I tried the sour first. I really liked rock the boat sour and could taste hints of papaya. The drink to get laid was my favorite tropical sour from mellow mushroom and tasted very good. The only downside to this place was the temperature. I asked the Yelp community before hand about the AC because we were going to bring my one year old with us. Everyone said they had it and it was enclosed. Boy was that a mistake. Within 20 minutes she was cranky and sweating. Even my husband who wasn't even drinking was complaining about the heat. It definitely made my flight and 8oz glass warm within the 30 minutes and the spurs just not pleasant towards the end. I would recommend some fans in this place or just not even mention the ac because it was almost the same 93 degrees as the outside but inside. We left within the hour and Took some growlers to go. I would come back here when it gets cooler and definitely would enjoy it more. read more

This local brewery is down the road from where we live and we look forward to spending quite a few nights here, hanging out. My husband first went here to pick up a couple growlers and loved his experience. The bartenders were eager to help him make a selection and he loved both the Beer Flavored Beer and the Chocolate Porter that he brought home. We then went together for Monday night BINGO and had a great time again! We brought our foster dog and there were several other dogs there, as well. Unfortunately we got there late as the food truck was leaving, but next time we will just get there earlier to try that out! read more

Low Tide Brewing is a nice spot to relax and meet and gather with friends and have a beverage. It is a nice wide open space with plenty of room to sit back. There is plenty of parking and it is easy to get in and out. This is a really cool place to go. There is always activities and good times to be had. Awesome place. read more

This was my first time here and thus I asked the very nice bartendress how to proceed. She quickly pointed out the various ales and the IPAs that were available, with my choosing to end up with a "flight" of four small beers for $7. I liked them all except for the Basil. After my comment to her, she said that was one that most people had said they really enjoyed. I was sitting there at the interior bar (they have tables and a porch swing outside) a lady put her flight down as she was leaving. 3 of the 4 had half of the brews left. The one that was fully sampled? Yep, the Basil. Of course I am thinking that such happy folks were really, really, really happy to have basil in a draft beer. For me, not so much. Different strokes for different folks, I say. Still the rest of them were quitecold, tasty and refreshing. Yes, I will be back. read more
Nice little place, no frills, simple. Lots of locals enjoy coming here - which is always nice. Good amount of parking available and a nice area outside with tables. Inside is nice and spacious. A few high top tables, a nice long bar area and some picnic tables. Definitely lots of places to sit, which is great when you have a couple of people meeting you there. They also have cornhole and checkers you can play inside. Low Tide and Basil beer are my favs and I was super happy that they had them on tap when we visited. read more

Loved everything about this place! Came on a Sunday afternoon and there was ample parking, lots of seating and attentive staff. Also dog and kid friendly! I've been to a lot of breweries and this one definitely stands out as one of my favorites! The bartenders were very friendly and even gave us a free tour of the brewery! The beers were all very unique with nodes of unexpected flavors like watermelon and basil. It was nice that this brewery was dog friendly too! And they gave sweet merch! We'll definitely be back when we're in town. read more
