Been to almost all the major warehouses, small and anything in between type nurseries in WA state, but East Hill remains my favorite. It's their spectacular customer service and warmth. KEHN is phenomenal. I've raved about their massive indoor plant selection and extremely fair pricing but wanted to talk even more about their customer service and business. I once made a mistake on ordering online and I called in- Ryan happily fixed it for me and so quickly. They will go out of their way to help you solve any problem and additionally, they always do it with a huge smile. Like they genuinely want you to enjoy your purchase and have a good experience. I also noticed their pricing is so fair and much cheaper than any seattle shop which is huge. Having a large customer base but making smaller margins of profits makes everyone happy and creates loyal customers- I can definitely say i'm a customer for life and have spent way more than I should here LOL. today I went in and got a super cute pot. I am a beginner in gardening. I wanted to plant trees and flowers in the garden this year, so I searched for a gardening center. I like this place the fourth one I found the most. First of all, all employees are greeting to me and any customers. The second is enthusiastic help with my question. Third, there are a lot of stock and it is in very good condition(quality) I purchased 2 of Cypress Trees and White Crape Myrtle shrub. I can't wait to see these trees grow. Was looking for a money tree with a nice braid to it. Found a picture of a small one on the Kent Hill website that appeared to have the style I wanted. Ordered it and went to pick it up and the trunk was not even close to the 4" of the picture. I know that not every plant can be photographed, but the picture was drastically different than what I had received. And of course even driving in to pick it up: no refunds only store credit. Great. Not interested in placing any further online orders with them or coming back. What a let down. Toss it and move on I guess. Edit: The owner reached out trying to fix the situation, which I appreciate so I've changed the review to 3 stars. I don't think many Owners would, so I at least appreciate that. Edit 2: The purchase was refunded after the owner reached out. I've changed the review to reflect 5 stars. At the very least I can say that the customer service isn't something I expected and feel is rare for a lot of businesses who just mouth we care about you. I won't order online anymore, but I will at least go back in and try again in person and write this up as me being a silly goose. If anyone is worried about having a bad experience here it is possible. But even if you do they will fix it which is really impressive. read more

I adore this nursery. They have the nicest staff and have such beautiful healthy plants. I have yet to get a bad plant from them. They also have cute gifts for plant lovers if you're looking for something different to give your planty friends. The prices are slightly higher than a big box store but the quality of the plants are also much better than the other stores. My favorite part of the store is honestly the clearance/sales section. I keep getting plants from there because it is such a good deal. But mostly I'm just delulu that I can make them thrive. read more

I'm quite the serial plant killer and don't usually go to these places, but I had heard Kent East Hill Nursery had a lot of very unique houseplants so when I needed a gift for a green thumb I knew exactly where I wanted to go! Awesome selection of plants and trees, both native and non for indoor and outdoor planting. TONS of beautiful houseplants with an excellent selection of rare specimens. This place makes me jealous that I can't have plants, BUT I decided to talk to one of the staff members and it seems like I just might be able to pull something off! They were a great help and really encouraged me to give things a go. This is one of those places I can see myself popping my head in mostly for a type of entertainment, but if you're a major plant head I'd be careful about doing that - it's hard to walk away without a little something-something for your collection! read more

I love this nursery! I have lived nearby here almost my whole life and im surprised i just had my first time visiting this place. Went in for some indoor plants and loved exploring all the different types of plants that i have heard of and havent heard of before. Theyre all reasonably priced as well. I got myself a string of hearts for only $15, a small aloe vera plant for $3, and a nepenthes for $16. Plus none of them looked like they were dying. Staff was friendly and super knowledgable. Someone looked lost in what they were looking for and staff was available to help in any way they could. It is family owned and they know how to care for their plants. Overall, I would definitely come in again. They have a member program where you can earn points and the more points you get, you get a free plant. I already racked up 200 points for the plants I got plus the two pots I got. read more

I bought a hydrangea here and another from Carpinitos and planted them next to each other. This is by far one of my favorite nurseries! I live an hour away and whenever I have the chance I try to stop here. They have a great selection of pottery, houseplants, outdoor plants, soils, and fertilizer! They also have really cute plant related gift shop items. I'm always impressed by their Hoya selection and other "rare" plants. I will say I work at a nursery and this place is top notch. The staff here is always nice too and willing to help! Fantastic experience here in late January. This family-run nursery gave me the sense that it has a really good plant buyer - the nursery has that feel of a very carefully curated large assortment of not-ordinary, not-run-of-the-mill, interesting plants, both indoor and outdoor, with the added bonus of the plants having very reasonable prices. Staff super helpful, attractive but functional plant arrangements, incredible selection. So I'm not one of the super-intense indoor plant collectors, and not qualified to give a full evaluation on this, but I've been looking for the Black Raven ZZ plant, and this is the only nursery where I've seen it so far. (These were bigger than my indoor space, but it was nice to finally see one in person. Just as gorgeous as the pictures!) I got a gorgeous variegated dracaena that I'm really happy with, and it feels to me - based on my touring of local nurseries - that they have a very solid and interesting selection of indoor plants. Highlights: a wonderfully large selection of rhododendrons, especially ones that are small and charming. Some really awesome variants of ninebarks and dogwoods that I haven't seen elsewhere. A gloriously large selection of evergreens. The only - and I mean only - nursery where I saw fully double primroses for $1.99 (I've seen them up to $8.99 elsewhere.) I've browsed my way through almost half of the nurseries in the region. This is the only one I've been to so far that has the perfect trifecta of plants, people, and pricing. read more

Much bigger than the others I've been to in Washington so far. I love that even though Washington isnt one of those typical zones you grow tropicals in, K.E.H.N. has a great selection of both common and uncommon/rare tropicals in their indoor space. Hoyas & anthuriums galore! They even had some Monstera Albos & Pink Princess Philodendrons! I loved browsing and had a blast in the indoor section. Lots of unique and fun pots. Cute section of things for the minis (mine found a bunch of goodies lol!) | S T A F F | THE nicest staff I've encountered yet at ANY nursery/plant store from here to Los Angeles, CA! I wish I had gotten everyone's names because they were all so friendly and helpful. I had asked a lot of (I believe his name is) Ry while searching for the "perfect" Pearls & Jade pothos. He happily helped me taking down various displayed P&Js til we found the fullest looking one. I also had a lot of questions about transporting my new found jewels via airplane from WA to CA. He and his sister were so helpful about taking them on the plane and what to expect. I really loved how knowledgeable they were too in the plants they carried; sometimes I go to plant stores and the staff have no idea what plants I'm asking about or what they have in stock, which is frustrating. But not here! Ry answered all of my questions about the plants they had and even the ones I was inquiring about (Amydriums & Lithops). | H I G H L I G H T S | The prices per plant were reasonable and fair; the collector's plants prices may throw some new plant parents/shoppers but being a somewhat well versed in the pricing for a lot of them, I can confidently tell prospective buyers that these are good prices! Especially since I have yet to see the selection they have here at any surrounding plant stores. The staff is my biggest highlight though! I'd come back here just to talk plants with them all, lol! Although the selection of indoor plants is not the most extensive, this is by far my favorite nursery in the surrounding area. Compared to Urban Sprouts in Renton or Watson's in Puyallup, the indoor plants here seem to be in much better shape and are priced better. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and there is ample parking. They also have a really nice rewards program that incentivizes my plant purchasing addiction. I became a plant mom (up to 90 indoor house plants woopsies!) right when the pandemic started. I would come here almost 3 times a week and it's always a very pleasant experience. TIP: Sign up for their plant member rewards to earn points and get $$$ off your next visit. They get different varieties of outdoor & indoor plants and weekly plant shipments. I've also noticed they have a lot more rare plants coming in now. Love love this place so much! Shared this place with most of my friends/clients and this has now become their favorite plant shop as well! I kinda think of this place as Swansons more reasonable, but just as good quality cousin that lives down south??? THIS is the place you go if you've gotten into houseplants and you want to browse, see some of the "Insta" plants (they get a collector shipment about once a month, prices are fair), as well as some regular plants without feeling like you're going to get gouged on a golden pothos. All plants looked well cared for and pest free. One nice thing about this place is the large amount of decorative pots for good prices they had. The service is just perfect here. If you want to stroll along and just look, that is fine. If you have something in mind, they can find it for you. I'm not sure how they know so much about each plant, but it is so very helpful. Three of the staff members helped us with suggestions for plants for a small area in our front yard. This included selection of shrubs and low plants that will thrive in that area; the plants have a variety of colors and leaf shapes that are complementary to one another. We had visited 2 other nurseries prior to this one. The value was comparable to those nurseries, but the selection and service is far superior. I have finally learned-- come here first! Great staff, super nice and knowledgeable people. Great selection of healthy plants and garden items, at reasonable prices. Why go anywhere else? Hubs had trouble finding Hollyhock plants... looked all over, and finally found plants HERE in 3 colors including the Blackberry ripple he wanted. He also got a couple lovely houseplants for me for Mother's Day here. I was on a search for Teddy Bear sunflower seeds-- looked at Ace Hardware, McLendons, Fred Meyer, etc. and nothing. Called Kent East Hill and not only did they have the seeds, but they put them aside for me for a day until I could come in and pick them up. So helpful!! (I am disabled so this helps me out a lot). I highly recommend them. Unlike the "big box" stores that also sell plants, this place has staff that has garden knowledge, and sells plants other than just the run-of-the-mill varieties you find everywhere. A wonderful business that deserves support for A++ customer service as well. read more

Five stars does not do this place justice. Went to this nursery for the first time ever and what a positive experience. Lets get to the outstanding parts: Customer service: Literally, everybody on staff greets and asks if they can be of help and thank you for visiting on the way out. Its a group of employees that appear to take immense pride in their job. For example, one of the staffers, Geri was really patient in answering questions and super helpful. One of the staff noticed I bought plants and asked if I had potting soil. I realized I didn't (at home) and the guy fetched a bag and asked if I was okay with the price and brand. Very considerate. Product selection: Shaded plants, trees, shrubs, bushes, indoor plants, outdoor plants, mid-season berry plants, chimes, grass seed, and a great selection of various pots, planters, stakes, tools to get your started in gardening. For the most part, the organization is just impeccable. Parking: Private lot with plenty of space. Pricing: Competitively priced products similarly sold at Home Depot, Carpinito Brothers, Lowe's, etc. Things to know: If you are going to be a frequent patron, they do have a points systems that your purchases go towards. If there's a pot you like and it does not have a drain hole, they can drill you one. I was surprised and glad to know that's an option. If you've never been, this is a great nursery to shop at. I think you'd be hard pressed to find stellar customer service with excellent quality products. read more

This is my happy place! When I'm not here, I'm dreaming of possibilities and wishing I could walk down every aisle. I'm pretty new to the plant world, so at first I thought they were a bit on the expensive side, but I was wrong. Quality is better and prices are in line with my expectations after researching. And they deliver! We got a very healthy, mature laurel for privacy in our backyard, and even though I originally wanted something "prettier", it's so bushy and healthy, I'm actually thrilled. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and so incredibly helpful. I really can't say enough good things about them! I will be back, I hope they don't get sick of me since I ask so many questions.
