I ordered a washer and dryer in store and set up a delivery date for Monday. I canceled plans and waited around for them to be delivered, but they never showed up (and I was never notified). I called back on Tuesday to find out what happened and after waiting around on the phone for 30 minutes, I was finally told they were rescheduled. I live much closer to their orange competitor, which I also like, so I don't come 'round too often. But when I want to change lighting or fans or appliances or flooring or anything cosmetic in my house, I make a trip up the highway to comparison-shop. Because they usually have prettier stuff, in my opinion. Or more variety, at least. And their sales and pricing are comparable. They say they will price-match with the orange guys, and I haven't had to test that promise so far. Some of the items they carry are "Lowe's exclusive," which means you won't find that item anywhere else. However, if it goes on sale within 30 days, they'll adjust the price for you, which is more than some retailers will do. When I get excited about sales on appliances and not just the pretty home improvements, I know I'm fully domesticated. It happens, people. The staff here are super helpful, but you might have to hunt them down, because there aren't usually a lot of them on the floor. This week when I was there, I saw one person per department, and no extras roving about. So I had to wait a bit to get some help, but when they showed up, they were great. There was only one staff member working the customer service/returns desk, and there was a line for returns, so I decided to pass on getting questions answered there. If you're a current or retired military service member, they offer certain discounts with military ID and VA service card, which they explain in more detail on their website. And if you're a combat wounded veteran, they save four parking spaces for you up front. Look for the Purple Heart signs and striping. Way to go, Lowe's! read more

Absolutely one of the worst Lowe's I've shopped at. I always find Lowe's provide better services than competition however not this store. Was trying to get some items from a higher shelf and needed help. When I got "Antonio" over, his first phrase was "Why are you here? " I told him I need help to get a smaller spindle on a higher shelf but he pointed to the larger version of it and told me to get that. I explained I need the smaller one. Stopped into this Lowe's on Saturday 4/17 as it was conveniently located for the errands I was running. Needed to get two cans of wasp spray. It was 3:30 in the afternoon on a SATURDAY and they had ONE register open. ONE! The line to check out was down the store aisle towards middle of store. Needless to say I didn't need wasp spray that bad and left the items on that aisle. Thankfully I was able to order the same spray on Amazon and not have to wait in line. If you enjoy being humiliated and then given incorrect policy information by store managers, you've found the right place! For instance, just try to return unused toilet related merchandise and you'll be laughing at and loudly asked questions like, "Did you sit on this naked?" in front of the entire long return line. We were excited when we moved to Austin to hear that there was a Lowe's nearby. At our old house, Home Depot was the only option for many items, especially after OSH closed down, but we actually would go out of our way to drive 25 to 30 miles to Lowe's to pick up big ticket items. We just don't like the politics of the Home Depot leadership. But unfortunately, we won't be going to Lowe's again. Today, when returning a few items (we just moved into our dream house, and are remodeling, so we buy lots of stuff, some of which doesn't work), two of the items were toilet seats, and one of them was opened. Our new house has three toilets, and the seats are old, worn and stained by the previous owners (they are not super gross or anything, just very well used), so we wanted to get new seats. The first time I went to get new seats, I went to Lowe's but they didn't have any gentle close seats with the right connectors available, so I went to Home Depot. Both Lowe's and HD have the seats hung up on the wall, so you can't sit down to test them, and unfortunately the seat I picked up was remarkably uncomfortable. I didn't install it, I just laid it down and we tried sitting on it (wearing cloths). Really bad, so I returned the seats to Home Depot, no problem. So I specifically go back to Lowe's to see if they have seats, and now they do, so I pick up two. I bring them home, and again, lay one of them down and sit on it (actually, it's my wife who sits on them, as her opinion matters the most, and yes, she is wearing pants when she does this), and again, very uncomfortable. Now, it's worth noting that I had to pull the toilet seat out of the shrink wrap to do this test, because they shrink wrap the lid down to the seat, and I figured I'd include that shrink wrap in the box when I returned it, which was probably a mistake. So, when they look at the open toilet seat box at Lowe's, they ask if it's used. I say no, we just took it out and sat on it to see if it was comfortable. That was when the laughing started and the questions about sitting on it naked were asked. Of course not, we didn't even unpack the mounting hardware (it's still sealed in the bag). At this point I'm feeling humiliated and angry. They keep laughing and say that they can't accept an open box return of a toilet seat because of OSHA rules. I ask, "do you think this is funny?". I think at that point they realized I wasn't enjoying being laughed at in front of a line of people, and stop laughing. I'm mad, but I don't say anything else, I just sign my return receipt for the other stuff and take the open toilet seat back to the car. In the car, I realize I'm really mad and humiliated. I work in a customer service oriented industry, and I know that's not how you treat people, so I go back in the store and explain what just happened the the manager. I'm really not being rude or loud, I just show them that the returned item was not used, was never attached to a toilet (remember the sealed hardware bag), but they again say, it's an OSHA thing. When I also bring up the laughing at me, they say sorry, but not in a very apologetic way. I really don't get it. I don't know whey they treated me this way, as I really wan't being obnoxious or loud or rude at all. It was like it was my fault for shopping at Lowe's and wanting to return something. We are remodeling our dream house and I have soooo many projects. It's fun! I was looking forward to going to Lowe's, returning a few items, and then buying a whole bunch more, but instead I'm upset, humiliated and now that I looked at the Lowe's return policy and don't see anything that would disqualify my return today, I'm really angry. Angry enough to rant this long in a review! :P So yeah, I left Lowe's and went to the Home Depot that is literally four blocks away from there where I bought a bunch of stuff. And I'm pulling all the project stuff I had ready to go that I bought from Lowe's and am going to return it (smart light switches, exterior lights, tools, etc.). If I could give Lowe's 0 stars, I would. After placing an online order for this location, we waited several hours and then drove from Leander for pick-up. We finally received a notification that it was ready so we confirmed our arrival on the app. After waiting more than 10 minutes in the parking lot for curbside pick-up, I walked in. Underwhelming customer service, to say the least. They finally determined that my order had been transferred to another Austin location. No notification....nothing. I came here to get some shelves to install in my laundry room. I got great service reminiscent of when I worked at Home Depot in Chelsea NYC, The sales associate took care of me from beginning to end and I was able to get everything I need almost like having a personal concierge. This was in stark contrast to when I sent my wife the night before. I walked in I was asked for help and pointed to the tool aisle. When I got over there another associate assisted me with choosing the right shelves, the wall plugs, screws, etc. It was just the service I was looking for so I could have got in and out with wasting time perusing the aisles. Employees at this store location need a lot more training, they are helpless, I had i gift card and the person at the register told me that I had to go to some office to get my gift card activated, I called the customer service number on the back of the card and they told me the card was already active, I left the store without buying anything and made a trip for nothing, very frustrating!! I end up finding some paint on sale but the file sets for metal are all cheap China made sets.... don't get those... anyway I goto the counter and of course there's a line from border to border so I wait and finally it's my turn to check out and the guy in front of me had some kind of issue with the product he picked out, clearly didn't even know what he was buying then the one cashier, mind you just one, some 17 yr old kid he working his butt off has to remedy this issue. Maybe they are fine if you do not need an installation but their installation is worse than terrible. Background before it got bad (!): I purchased a dishwasher a month ago. We went through the process of scheduling an installation which would not be for two more weeks. No one showed. I called the installer's number and they could not find any evidence I had been scheduled or an order for our home even existed. I went to the Lowe's in person to get things straightened out. Evidently who they use for installation had changed. It never occurred to them to see who needed to be rescheduled so they just waited for no one to show up and me proactively, AGAIN, schedule an installation. Whatever. I understand these things happen. At least this time someone showed up. Movement in the right direction. The guy "completes" the installation. It turns out he did a fantastic job, as long as you never touch the dishwasher. It looks like it is installed. However, when you open the top basket the top of the dishwasher completely comes out. However, the only way for that to be complete is if the dishwasher is never used because that is what it took for it to come out. WTF? Does she think I bought it with the intent of never opening it so it'll stay? I am trying not to think she is too retarded for her job and instead assume she was responding to my video without watching it. Some people do that even though it makes them this wrong in their response. After all Lowe's put me through, to me the real problem isn't that they made multiple mistakes. We ordered a platter from them. It took weeks to arrive at the store, which half the time the "pro" desk never knew anything about - regarding the ETA or status. I've had to call multiple times with no answer. Finally received one and they made me feel like it was my fault because they "called me" and let me know, however I never got a phone call. Horrible customer experience with flooring. Jay and Molly both were rude when I purchased cork flooring. Here's the story: They miscalculated how many sq. feet was needed. So I recieved the incorrect amount. I had the furniture moved etc. when the flooring installer notified me that there was not enough flooring for the job! I had PLANNED for the project and it was a real inconvenience to stop, order $900 worth of (more) flooring, and wait until it will be delivered. "In a week or so", was what I was told. These two were rude on the phone, I was hung up on twice, and I am still awaiting the delivery. Bottom line, go somewhere else for your flooring needs. They will never return your calls in a timely manner, will have limited knowledge of the product, and will be down right rude to you. read more

Went in to get some new shades for our house and was completely taken back at the lack of professionalism this store exhibited. It was a Friday afternoon and they were very understaffed. Workers in the flooring department (next to the home decor section) told me the "window blinds" lady was out of town and unable to help me. Which was a mind blowingly unhelpful answer to my request for someone to cut the blinds I had selected. They proceeded to go back to talking to themselves offering me no other options. I finally tracked down the paint department lead. She got right to the task of cutting my blinds and apologized for the inconvenience. She went above and beyond and was the only element of my experience that made me feel welcome & not repulsed at giving this store money. It was still tough to pay for the blinds. I hate giving my money to poorly run stores, but we needed the blinds. Lowes, I've been a customer for years but this experience has me second guessing that. This Lowe's, and Lowe's in general, is ok - I alternate between this location and Home Depot depending on who has what - sometimes Lowe's will carry something HD doesn't and vice versa. However, that's not why I'm writing this review - instead, I am taking time out of my day to let everyone know how horrible the customer service is in this place. It's absolutely abysmal. It takes forever to get someone to help you and there is rarely more than one checkout lane open. A few weeks ago, when I was buying a door, I asked the cashier if I could get some assistance loading it into my truck. He replied "yeah," and went on to the next customer. I waited outside for about 5 minutes before another customer, who heard my request, volunteered to help. And really, that's just par for the course for this store. Contrast that with the nearby Home Depot - on a trip yesterday, I was asked if I needed help in that one visit more than I have in probably 15 years of shopping at the other store. Unless you absolutely have to - like they have a product sold exclusively sat Lowe's - I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this store. Even if you know what you need, and know exactly where it is in the store, you still have to deal with a limited number of cashiers. Just don't go. read more

We went through Lowes to remodel our master and guest bathrooms. It was quite an undertaking since we wanted to remove the tub in the master and get a large walk in shower. There were so many options and decisions to make. We are extremely pleased with how Lowes handled this project from start to finish. First of all in designing it, Rosamond Fahey was so good at discussing what we wanted and giving us advice and options, including managing costs. She put us at ease and was very proactive in getting the information we needed. We were concerned at first in having to put up all the money for the project up front instead of staging it, but it turned out to be no issue in that they made sure we were satisfied every step of the way. On starting the project we had a kick off meeting with Lowes and their main company that does the work which was RIS. They had to make sure we had all the materials there before they started, and it was all delivered a few days previous. Once kicked off, they consistently came every day to work on our project (except weekends which we were glad actually). My wife and I work, but I was able to stay at least a little while with them in the mornings for questions, input etc. They were very good about respecting our house and we felt very comfortable with them working there while we were not home. We dealt mainly with Josh Hubert at RIS on a daily basis, who was the project manager for our remodel. He did an excellent job. He let us know what was going to be done and when, and always offered us options of how certain things should be done and the risks of each option. We ran into a couple of issues which is inevitable for a remodel (yet way less than we thought), but on each one it was amazing how it was worked out effectively by them. Terry Sanders was our Lowes remodel coordinator, and also did an excellent job making sure we were happy every step of the way. The job took 6 weeks for us for both the master and the guest bath. We are very pleased and excited on the results. The walk in shower is simply amazing! I highly recommend this store's remodeling service. read more

If your other stores have an item for clearance, and they tell you the item is in stock at another location, you'd expect it at the same price right!? Wrong. According to this incompetent "manager" the items can be priced differently regardless of their own employees sending you to another location for the same item. I will be contacting "Bob" who is supposedly the store manager to discuss the loss of business to Home Depot because of a few dollars on 3 ceiling fans and potentially many other new home fixtures! I was a customer at this store, the operative word being "was". I will NEVER EVER give This Lowe's a good review for anything. Other reviews point out the staffing levels and managers. The staffing levels are atrocious BECAUSE of management! The general manager Greg is nonexistent and terrible! The assistant manager and most of the department supervisors are equally as terrible. This is the reason they cannot keep good people, and most of the people who stay seem "burned out" from being constantly overworked due to understaffing. The associates on the sales floor will go out of their way to AVOID helping customers, especially if the "assistance needed" button is pushed. I ordered and paid for a window in early February(2021) only to be told it wouldn't be here until the end of April(2021). I called and was told the window is already 5 days late as of this review and no one seems to know the status of it, or where it is. Some of these associates need to learn that there is a follow-up AFTER the sale! Keep up the good work Home Depot, this is why you're number 1. read more

What a great place. They are seriously somehow exactly like Home Depot but also very different in that the employees are super friendly and very helpful here! The prices seemed competitive and we ended up buying a refrigerator here because they sent us a coupon when we changed our address to our new home. It came in really handy since refrigerators are not cheap! They were able to get the code to work quickly and we were out of there in no time. The personnel quality is inconsistent. Sometimes you go in and there is no one who knows anything and it is a chaos, sometimes there are really knowledgeable department heads - totally hit or miss. Can be a waste of time if the right personal is not there (esp. the blind or roller trimming department). Run don't walk away from Lowes in general. especially for online orders. They don't "get it" ... They have no organize system for keep track of inventory. Consequently 90% of what they offer online is wrong. Two times I tried to order same product from two different stores that showed it i"n stock", only to find out that "in stock" includes damaged items and display items. Why would you post those online? If they show up on computer at store like that, then remove them from online!!! Also instead of canceling order w/out letting customer know, why not see if can get the items from another, nearby lowes store? Lowes used to be a dog friendly store, I have been there "many times" in the past with my dog. BUT last week I went there with Beamer (which is 100% well behaved, and always gets tremendous amounts of praise from their staff) and I was told that they don't allow dogs anymore. What the heck!!! I was certainly sorry to hear that since Lowes sometimes carries products that the other big hardware store lacks. I get all my plants from Lowe's. I called ahead because I was looking for an specific flower. I was told there was 5, so I decided to go in. I couldn't find it so I decided ask for help, First Lady said it wasn't her department but continue to tell me to the two places she thought they would be. I still didn't find them so decided to ask for help again one lady said she didn't know that I had to ask someone else, so I did and the young boy was quick to dismiss me with an "I don't know". I was about to give up but decided to ask one last time. A lovely young man in green Lowe's polo shirt didn't know where they would be but he looked all over the store with me. We didn't end up finding it but I was just happy someone was actually willing to help.
