Do NOT I repeat do not waste your money to get doors installed through Lowes. I have never been more disappointed and mad about an install experience. We spent thousands of dollars on custom office doors and it was a complete nightmare. First, they didn't deliver the door jamb so they couldn't install the day they were supposed to, it was delivered later that day after they "found" it in the back room. The door jamb they delivered was too big so the doors had a huge gap between them. They wouldn't let the installer do anything to fix it (since it would void the warranty) so I waited another week for a new jamb to come, it finally came and this one was too small and the doors wouldn't shut. I told them this needed to be completed that day since my house has been under construction and I have two small kids. After our installer worked until 5:30pm he ended up needing more trim. Once he arrived the next day 1.5 hours later than he said he would be there, he realized he bought the wrong trim and needed to go back to Lowes and get more. He was gone for another 2.5 hours due to the Lowes not having the right size. After he came back he finished the install of the doors, he then informed me that he isn't supposed to do any touch ups of the door/paint the door or anything according to Lowes. I am sorry but seriously!? What person in their right mind would be ok with just having the doors installed and not having a finished product? My husband now has to paint the doors since they do not match the white paint and have marks on them. This has been a complete night mare, I will never ever ever recommend Lowes to anyone ever, I will go out of my way to tell people not to use Lowes. Do not waste your money or time. read more

I will never go to Lowe's going forward or this store. Store manager Chris was rude and raised his voice to me when he was implying I was stupid for not understanding how to schedule a delivery. When I asked to speak to GM, he said he was until I kept asking questions when he finally said he was only in charge for the moment and he couldn't help me. When I contacted customer service to escalate to region manager Blake Clemons, I was told he would contact me in 24 hours. Now 36 hours later no contact. I contacted Carmel Lowe's flooring department to quote laying tile in my 2 upstairs bathrooms around August 15. I received the quote on August 20 and was told install was only a week out as long as all of the product needed was in stock. GREAT! I was excited as our baby is due in the coming few weeks and wanted to have this done prior to baby's arrival. So I went into the store and paid IN FULL on August 22 (while being told on the spot that I needed to spend another $125 for material delivery that I was not prepared for). I then learned a few days later that we needed to adjust the amount paid as the employee I was working with did not account for the full amount of tile needed but I was willing to look past it since I was then told we did not need to pay for material delivery and we could reallocate those funds to cover the extra cost AND that our product was in stock and I was assured install would be scheduled quickly. Then I waited and waited for a call to schedule. Finally I received a call on September 1 to schedule and was told the soonest they could install was SEPTEMBER 21!!! I am livid. I asked to be put on a cancellation list and reached out to the employee I was working with at Lowe's via email AND left several telephone messages. I have not gotten a response and he is always unavailable when I call.... Moral of the story, if they quote you a timeline, do NOT believe it. So disappointed.... read more

I recently purchased garage tool cabinets for my new garage. They were about $3000.00. I was told by Lowes that they would also install them when they arrived , for a fee of course. When they did arrive they were damaged beyond use and i was told they would re-ship them. I waited a month for the original batch to arrive and now I'm into my second month going into the third for the replacements. I called the store and thought I would schedule the installation because the trucking company told me they would be arriving this week one day. Lowes proceeded to tell me that they do not install garage cabinets and never did.....so I'm stuck with a garage full of damaged cabinets and no help to hang the new ones. Pretty pitiful. And people wonder why big box stores are tough to deal with??....Now two weeks later I find that my cabinets were shipped to New Jersey and they're sitting on a dock somewhere. Nobody really knows what happened to my cabinets or why they're in New jersey. I am still waiting for the replacement damaged cabinets. Going on 3 months now. Yesterday they told me they were going to cancel the order and start all over again.This is really unbelievable. Never again. read more

Had one room of wood flooring installed. The process took weeks. Got a surprise $1000 the day of installation for "extra work" they had to do (putting down quick-set to level). They did 2 hour's work and left for the day to let the material dry. That's an additional $1000 for TWO HOUR'S WORK. That's on top of the $2000 I ALREADY PAID for installation. So $3000 labor to install 400 sq feet of wood flooring over concrete slab. Man, did they see me coming. read more

Ordered a bundle of four appliances on June 21st. Was told delivery would be July 20th. It was later changed to July 23rd. Two of the appliances were delivered and installed July 6th. Today is July 22nd and when I didn't get a call confirming the delivery time, I called them. Guess what! The appliances are not at the store to be delivered. It is 5:30pm the night before they are to be delivered. Don't you think that SOMEONE would have called to inform us of the delay. I would cancel but they already delivered two of the appliances. They have definitely lost any future business from my family. read more

I am a "pro" that shops at Lowe's on a regular basis for my business needs. I can typically get the help I need in a short period of time at most locations. However, the employees at this location are not as helpful. The store wasn't very busy and there were quite a few employees standing around talking to one another. Several of them were texting or something on their phones too. I bought items from several departments and the only area where I was even greeted after standing and waiting was the paint department. Kudos to the young lady that helped me out there. I wish the other departments and those at customer service / check out were as helpful. read more

I have had two doors installed via Lowe's installer service, both doors purchased there as well. The staff is very knowledgeable re: tax rebates on certain doors, best installation practices, how to handle custom orders. My first order was the result of months of searching to find an economical, quality storm door with a retractable screen that would fit a doggie door. Custom orders ranged between $800-$1200 without installation at various places! Working with Lowe's I found they could install their $25 dog door in a standard $99 storm door. Chuck helped to get that set up and he is a master at his work. I've had that door in heavy use for a year and it has held up wonderfully. Next, I replaced a non-shatterproof sliding door with a beautiful set of french doors. Will in millwork helped with the order and scheduling and was calling me daily until we got it all worked out. I will be doing more work with them in the future and I recommend you use them too. read more

Kitchen remodel included new cabinets and porcelain tile floors. Flooring extended into other parts of the house. I was satisfied with the cabinets and their installation, but the flooring job was a nightmare from start to finish. Besides taking weeks longer than planned, the crews assigned to the job were incompetent, sometimes not showing up, lacking tools to do the job right, and using the wrong materials. After it was finally finished the grout started coming out of the seams within a month. Lowes said they would send someone to inspect but never did. Now I have a floor that looks horrible and will need to hire someone else to fix. VERY VERY VERY DISSATISFIED!!! read more

I'm tired of everyone treating the individuals like garbage. Be it medical providers, government or in this case a commercial business it seems to be acceptable to waste the individuals time. I ordered a fridge and was told it would be delivered the next day. Too late in the day I receive another email, no text or call, to tell me there was a problem. Called and was told I had it corrected and would receive the fridge the next day between 8 am and 8 pm. After waiting most of the day received a call at 2:30 pm saying there was a problem. Again, fixed the problem and was told delivery would be the next day between 8 am and 8 pm. It showed up the next day at 2 pm. I wasted a day attempting to get an item ordered and scheduled for delivery and then another day waiting for a delivery that did not happen and then 7 hours the next day waiting for it to show up. Why is it ok for the individual to now just be told to sit and wait day after day and hour after hour. What happened to an appointment, not a window but an appointment and then actually keeping the appointment. Good luck to everyone doing anything, hope you have lots of time. read more

We went to this store for replacing all of our knobs and handles throughout the home. After realizing we got one of the wrong types before opening the box we went to try and return it. The salesperson at the return counter opened up the box and found that the keys were missing and would not give our money back without the keys, even after explaining that we never opened the box and it must have been a previous customer. The store overall was pretty good but they need to improve the customer service. read more

Will never again set foot in a Lowe's or give them my business ! Ordered a new kitchen counter top and first they make you pay in full before the job is done then take forever to schedule the work. They never sent the paperwork to the countertop fabricators until I called 2 weeks later. Then, Solid image ( the countertop manufacturer) called and set up a date for the install and it was up to me to schedule the demolition. I verified the date twice and got a confirmation call with solid image that they would be there on the scheduled day. So I then had them take out my old countertop and sink. Day of scheduled install which I verified 3 times they call and say they can't come out they lost my sink and had to order another one. It would be another week. Needless to say I'm livid I have 3 kids cannot go a week without a kitchen. Lowe's did not return calls, Solid image could care less and my hands are tied cause I've paid in full!! I will NEVER deal with them again once this is over. And to top it off Solid image was going to have a new sink in the next day but refused to reschedule my install until the next week!! I originally went to Lowe's on Jordan Creek Parkway on Sunday in Des Moines, IA to buy a mower we have been researching for a couple weeks. They were out of the 52 inch Ariens that we wanted so that sales associate told us to go to the Lowe's on 50th St. in Des Moines IA. He said they have them in stock there. We arrive at the 50th St. Lowe's after waiting almost 30 minutes to even find someone in the mowers area we get Willie. I had a couple questions about the Lowes card but since we already knew what mower we were getting, he looked it up and said they had two in stock and asked if we needed it today? We said yes. He said multiple times,that's no problem he can go back and assemble it. We checked out, and then Willie says come back a little before 6 PM to pick it up, on our way back to the store Willie calls and says that he wasn't able to get the mower assembled. I said you told me multiple times that you would have it done today, we are now three minutes away from the store with our truck and trailer for the second time today. He said I'll see what I can do. We get to the store, I walk in and find Willie walking around straightening shelves. He wasn't in the back assembling it. He never even tried to get it assembled. I ask him if we can just take it and assemble it ourselves. He said no, it has to be uncrated and inspected first. I said OK then when can you have it done? He said Wednesday. WEDNESDAY?!?! Why on earth would you tell a customer multiple times you will have it done today, when now you are now saying three days later? At this point I am beyond frustrated and I walk up to customer service and ask to talk to Willie's manager. I tell him the whole issue with Willie. He says he will have it rushed and have one of his guys put it together tomorrow and we can pick it up after 4 PM. I arrive the next day with our truck and trailer, again. The lady who helped us in the mower department I think her name was Jackie, she was very helpful. At first they can't find our mower. They say it's not assembled. I tell her the whole story that happened yesterday. She looks up the mower. They put it under the wrong name. Go figure! She then has to call another manager over to now "steal" it from this customer. What a mess! I would NOT recommend buying a mower from Lowes ever! While I am an employee at Lowe's, I've been a lifetime customer here. And after recently walking through a nearby large hardware store and being unpleasantly surprised, I feel I should give a quick review of Lowe's. Lowe's is extremely well staffed, well organized, and almost overly helpful. Their commercial/pro services section is very well staffed, with each individual knowing everything the customer needs for their projects. They open really early and close really late. The floors and bathrooms are clean and you can tell that the employees actually enjoy working there. I give it 5 stars because I honestly cannot think of a single con. Like I said, I am employed here, but even if I wasn't, I'd still have the exact same opinion. When examining other "Big Box" home improvement stores, there's just no comparison. read more

OMG. Ordered some simple fencing online, just a few pieces on a Thur. Got a call on Friday that I needed to hurry in and pick it up. Ran up on Sun. Guy looks at my receipt. "Gosh, I hope we have it... "Wanders off and finally returns with some other guys order who came in well after me. Self fulfilling prophesy - "we can't find it... don't think it was ever back there...)Turns out that its not that they sold it, finally found out that Lowes.com was wrong and they never had it - not all summer, so its not like they ran out and inventory was not caught up. Apparently the employees say that's what usually happens. I spend an hour, miss going horseback riding. Get treated like crap because - I look like I'm ready for a barn. The end was the guy who came up the first time gets so mad he walks away from me slamming his fists into his palms. You know the gesture someone makes when they wish its your face. He'd gone off to do something else when he was supposed to be looking for my order. So why didn't these brain surgeons call me and tell me they didn't have my order, rather than telling me to hurry up to the store to pickup something they knew they didn't have, ruin my Sun afternoon and be abused by some idiot with an anger management problem. I spent 1.5 hours chasing these ding a lings around to get to the bottom of this. There's a reason I never buy appliances, roofs, floors, garage doors, water heaters or anything over $50 at Lowes. I tore up my Lowes' charge card when they screwed up having a water heater in stock that I needed. Didn't have to install it - just have what I ordered - always the same problem with the Indy area Lowes clowns but this store, this store takes the razzie prize. read more
