Worse buying experience I've ever had. Purchased a replacement washer and dryer before Thanksgiving - was given a delivery date and a window but never got the confirmation the day before so luckily I decided to call and double check - turns out my machines were not in stock and it standard practice to give you the 5:00 slot which is code for not gonna happen. Rescheduled the delivery for after the holidays - they showed up but with an electric dryer even though I specifically asked for a gas one - had to return the lot as they can't split and order - went to the store and ordered just the washing machine as the gas dryer would need to be a special order. It was delivered outside the window on 11/29 but they wouldn't hook it up as the connections were stiff and they recommended replacing them. Called a plumber spent over $400 to get them replaced and scheduled the hooked up and take way for 12/3 between 9:30 and 1:30 - no show - called the store - only apologies and no resolution - with an excuse that their third party delivery sucks - 'm done with this store. They are very unprofessional, misleading sales associates, a customer service department who can't actually provide any service except to put you on hold and I still have no working washing machine some three weeks into this ordeal. I have to pick a star to post - but make no mistake this one star is not deserved. My hook up is pending an email to some internal person who apparently can help get this resolved. Don't bother with curbside pickup! They don't answer the phone or allow you to check in via Lowe's app. Today I tried to order one item for curbside pickup. After getting the "ready to pickup" notification email, I drove up and tried to curbside pickup. 30 minutes later I could not get anyone on the phone calling (925) 241-3082, then Press "2". No answer. After going into store I was greeted with the long return line of grumbling customers trying to get refunds on their returns. All I needed to do was pick up my $300 order. After grabbing what I ordered off the shelf to avoid the "Food Bank" returns line, I tried to have the cashier mark my order as picked up. No dice, "I don't have access to that system" he says... . I put the item down on his register and walked out. I went online and cancelled my order. If Home Depot had the same product I needed, I would have bought there instead. I ended up driving out to Livermore where they have their together. I give Lowe's 2 stars for clean and organized stores but their checkouts sucks and don't yet support Apple Pay. Now you know why Amazon is kicking brick and mortar stores' a**! Even with Covid-19 concerns, they can do better. read more

The level of dysfunctionalness is the highest of any of the hardware stores in the east bay. Their phone system is totally broken. I have had multiple drops while waiting for talk to "anyone". I was so frustrated that I called Lowes President and CEO Robert NiBlock and got assigned Lynn one of the Case Mgrs of Executive Relationship. I then talked to Anna Hathaway Dublin store mgr, who said corporate was involved to solve this problem. That was almost two weeks ago. I have no idea. When I called today.... the system is exactly the same... still broken.... I was instructed how to get to Millworks by dialing x5-x8-x1 ....but no one picks up and I am left in queue to be dropped 5-7 minutes later. The 2nd time I called I was re-routed to customer service and got a hold of Doreatha service mgr.... who called the vendor to find out where my door was. but they miss their target delivery date. I find that of the big guys Orchard Supply is excellent, Home Depot is probably now 2nd...., but HD don't seem to have sufficient staff and many of their staff have no knowledge and can not offer any advice. Of the boutique hardware stores, Richerts seems to be one of the best and I would recommend them and of the big chains Orchard Supply. I now regret ordering my closet doors through Lowes and will not do business with them unless they fix their telephone system and put the customer first. .... they quoted over two months to have the doors installed. That is crazy. Update: 2/1/2018 Doors arrived today. Lowes had to re-order... either the vendor shipped the wrong door, but they had to re-order the doors Update: 2/5/2018: called today. Anna was suppose to call last Friday at 4:00 PM, but I did not get a call. Today...I ask if anyone had inspected the doors. They said no. So, no one over the weekend did the inspection. If I did not call today....I frankly think that no one would have inspected the door. I did get a call finally from the assistant store mgr. who said they were inspected and they would contact their contractor to call my renter to install the door. read more

Since my last 1 star review in April 2017, Lowes Dublin has been primarily my last resort stop for building supplies etc. primarily due to poor staffing (and inventory). So for the same reason I am giving them 5 stars, but not across the board, exclusively for one employee - Tala M. who is a ProService Specialist. I have easily spent more than $200k at various Lowes stores and about double that at HomeDepot over the past few years. However, NEVER has ANYONE at Lowes explained to me the contractor bid system until Tala. Further she demonstrated to me that purchasing at Lowes could be simple, fast and cost-effective - EXACTLY what it was NOT prior to meeting Tala. I have made 3-4 bulk purchases the past three months (and am placing another this week) and the experience has been so easy that I am trying to shift all my HomeDepot purchases to Tala at Lowes. When I place an order (via email or phone) she always updates me on status and most importantly, makes sure all items are there when we come in to pickup. She even goes out of the way to help other customers in the store that are not Pro Services customers better than those working in the specific departments. I doubt that Lowes management reads Yelp reviews otherwise they would see that the bulk of negative reviews have to do with poor customer service. If they read just one review, I hope they read this review and hire more people like Tala. read more

Horrible experience. Ordered item, paid for shipping. The sold the item to someone else and wouldn't do anything about it until almost 30 days later because the receipt said it would arrive today. They never shipped it. Can't find it. All the other stores are sold out (was a holiday inflatable item). Manager refunded money without talking to me to check if other stores had it. Instead I was told "I didn't think about doing that." Asked to talk to the district manager and was told no. He didn't have the district managers number and had no one else at that store that could help locate it. Seriously. A manager that can't reach the district manager? Don't worry, I'll reach out to the regional manager as well. It's unacceptable to hold onto someone's money for a month, refuse to help them before a certain date, then when that date comes tell the customer "So sorry, but thanks for the interest free loan for a month!" Will be filing complaints with multiple agencies for these practices. read more

THIS IS FOR THE DUBLIN STORE AND I AM NOT IN OREGON. Unless you plan on buying something right off the shelf and need no help, don't even bother coming in here. "Help" is non-existent at this location and customer service "hates the customer and provides ZERO service". I was there yesterday around 4:00 to look at some window shades. The store was like a ghost town. The parking lot was fairly empty. The store had few shoppers and almost no one in line to pay. There were plenty of red vest employees running about the place including two young woman at customer service. I looked at the shades and found a pair that I wanted. They were Levelors that were on sale. However, they needed to be cut and the machine at hand was one that only an employee is allowed to use. They are sold to be custom cut in the store aisle on a dedicated machine. I waited and waited in the department while people in red vests went by in the main aisles. They hurried past and pointedly avoided looking at me. So I finally went to the self checkout where I had seen a stationary worker to help me get help. When I got to him there was no one checking out and he was dozing at his station. I asked him if he could find me help and all he told me was that I should go to customer service instead. OK I thought, i'll stroll down there which I did and encountered the two young women. There was one person being helped at customer service. I asked for help and one of them called out for help on the store intercom. I told them I would be in that aisle by the machine. They acknowledged that and off I went. I stood there waiting for a good twenty minutes and no one showed up. Not only did they not show up but, by magic, not a single red vest would come anywhere near the aisle. I could see them detouring around the aisle as if to avoid being anywhere near it. By the time I was an hour into this process I decided to leave. As I walked out I stopped the napping dude at self check-out and told him what happened. He started at me like I had just spoken to him in gibberish. I was fuming. When I got in my car I decided to call the store and complain that they let a customer who wanted to buy an item hang with no help and then leave. The phone tree is Byzantine at best but I finally got through after the third try. I got customer service. When I told her what happened, she merely said, "Oh well, we are short staffed" and hung up. No resolution and no attempt to make one. The explaination was horse sh-t as I saw a worker to customer ratio of maybe two red vests for every one customer. They were busily moving things around shelves and keeping a clean store but for whom? They were ignoring any and all customers. It's a nice place. The selection is decent and they are a notch and a half above Home Depot in cleanliness and in selection but they are a thousand time behind on any kind of help or even any kind of customer service. They weren't like this a few months ago in the summer. I don't know what changed but I would warn anyone reading this that if they need any kind of customer service for their purchase, to go elsewhere. I would stringently warn against any kind of install or appliance purchase because of my experience and the previous reviews on the subject. Those things are VERY customer service oriented and if I couldn't get anyone to cut a shade on an automated machine built for that purpose then think about what it would be like trying to coordinate an install!!! Terrible cust service. Ordered a window - received over 2 months late. Needed to return within time period allowed but guess what? Clock starts on order - not delivery and payment. Was already out of warranty when it was delivered. Store Mgr. would not honor. I have heard stories about Lowes in this regard but ignored to my own detriment. update- some calling, some writing - fixed. Was not actually store Manager who said clocks starts on date of order- they were 1 level down. It was the Store Manager who resolved. A professional Footnote - On the receipt itself, it has the refund policy and the number of day you have to return your purchase. Its say nothing about "starting the clock" from the time the item is ordered, only from when it is received by cust. This is regardless whether ordered on line or in-store(in this case, had to be done on-line) I can only assume that the Employee I initially communicated with was not aware of this. -whew read more

Paid for propane exchange then waited forever 15 mins for someone to come outside exchange tank!!

So far there have been 5 attempts to deliver my washer and dryer...two because the truck that they sent was too large - even though they were warned repeatedly about the dead end street, one because they did not fit (our fault) but delivery insisted on leaving them (even though Lowes was going to pick them up) The replacement washer/driver/stacking unit finally arrived..."the stacking unit was incomplete" - the driver did not pick up the first set (even though I have the return authorization)...did not install anything and just left everything. I am $3,000 in and the assistant store manager was "going to get up to speed" and call me back...no call. The delivery department says "oh yeah, I guess we need to find the stacking unit at another Lowes"..has not gotten back to me. * The original sales man is helping but getting nowhere... * I have called three time today and gotten cut off ALL THREE TIMES before even being able to speak to a human ... I have two washer, two dryers and an "incomplete" stacking unit....sitting outside my house and no one is getting back to me with an answer as to what they intend on doing and when. read more

Manager with bad attitude! In past as well, we had bad experiences at this store hence generally I go to Home Depot rather than this store. We used to love going Lowes in Fremont! We had to buy miter saw, and price for this model was $219 at home depot, amazon, walmart except Lowes whether it was $299. I talked to lowes sales agent and they told me that they will match the price for any retail online store. I told them about home depo and amazon, they said, dont worry just to to counter and show them price and they will match. That saw was not available in Pleasanton Home Depot, it was available in Fremont/San Leandro so I decided to go Lowes. I get the saw to counter and the sales person had to call manager to match the price. The manager comes (like he fought with someone), show me the proof. I showed him both amazon and Home Depot. " We dont match amazon" " We will match home depo only if they dont have it in store". What?? Why would you match if they dont have in store? No sir, thats our policy. OK, I knew its not available there in Pleasanton store and I was already there in Lowes, I said, sure its not available in Pleasanton. The manager called Home Depot and comes back with an absolute lie, oh thats an "special order" and we cant match. What???? Then I took my cell and show him by adding and shipping to store by 3 days.. I asked him, what price matching policy really means then? Manager "OK I give you man" rudely. I had no time to argue, so we paid and walked out. And decided to never come back this store! It's a big warehouse, what could go wrong? Well, in Covid times line management is important. It was challenging to find the right isles where the lines were located, and the lines did not move very quickly. Like all home improvement stores, staff quality is hit or miss. I had good experiences looking for tools, but checkout staff was checked out. They were out of take-out bags, even though I paid for one at checkout. The parking lot, I was greeted with a friendly staff member and he was happy to help me with a flatbed cart. I was also very happy having a knowledgeable team member by the name of Donald in the lighting and ceiling fans department. He was awesome! (IN REGARDS TO THE APPLIANCE DEPARTMENT) WARNING!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE! The prices look good but the staff are clueless and indifferent. If you decide to purchase your major appliances here expect to not get them during the guaranteed delivery time frame. I ordered a GE convection oven and dishwasher in October 28th,2019 with guaranteed delivery by Nov. 23rd 2019 and I didn't get it until JANUARY 7th 2020!! The appliance department associate Alfredo handled my purchase, took my $3,200 and when I called in November to inquire about my appliances he said I would haVe to call the manufacturer and figure it out. EXCUSE ME SIR BUT YOU HAVE MY MONEY SO YOU SHOULD FIGURE IT OUT. Avoid this associate at all costs, apparently he gets paid hourly just to stand there and gossip about other employees in front of customers. It's not his fault however, his department manager Tala is equally as clueless. This woman was no help, I visited the store on 4 consecutive occasions to speak with her and every time I spoke to her I had to remind her about the entire situation. Every time I spoke to her she was allegedly making notes and emails in the system but the very next day she needed me to remind her of everything. And no surprise, the general store manager Philip was zero help. In fact when I asked him for help he said he has to talk to the other store manager when his picture is posted in the front of the store as the only store manager. Useless, absolutely useless. The cherry on top would have to be the subordinate named Tonia working the customEr service kiosk at the front. She's just outright despicable and rude with a permanent sour look on her face. I heard in the news that's they are closing underperforming Lowe's stores and laying off thousands of employees. I spent 15-20 minutes in the appliance section looking to buy a refrigerator. Two employees walked away from the desk with no acknowledgement of me at all. The third person greeted me and said they had to take a break. I spoke with a manager and told him what happened. He did apologize and I guess I was expecting a response more like " let me get someone to help you". Nope total disregard so he could go back to talking with his buddy instead of helping a customer about to drop $3500.00 on a new appliance. I am a longtime visitor of hardware stores and a DIY kind of person. All the reviews are correct. That is, this store is clean, organized, lots of parking, and the Staff are helpful - they are more knowledgeable than the help that I received at Home Depots. The Staff even approached me without me having to look for help, which is a unique courtesy. What I also like about this store is the variety of products offered. In general, their products seem more diverse than other hardware stores. This store in Dublin seems to offer alot of products that Builders offer as extras when you buy a new home. So you can save yourself some money before you buy that new house in Dublin or San Ramon by looking into some of the extras that you can buy here and install yourself. Overall, the store is worth returning. read more

Plenty of home inventory and just about anything home related you could want. Self checkout is handy too. Major downside to such a large store. I would have given a 5 star review but had a glitch with the purchase of my refrigerator. The salesman advised that it was in stock when it wasn't. This is when Lisa Zarodney saved the day (Delivery Manager.) She took the extra steps to call other stores and found it at their Livermore location. It was delivered the next day! Ive never had any special requests and know my way around this kind of place so I am satasfied as a long time customer. I do remember an odd comment from a worker there in the paint department. Coming in today, they tell me that the only 2 that they have, one is damaged ams one os an open box. The manager Aida, couldn't even apologize for their error. Had Lowes to install Whirlpool water softener for me. Always problems from purchase to install to use. Take many days for installation, they first sent a contractor who does not how to install the softener I purchased. Then after 2 more weeks, they sent another contractor, who first missed the scheduled installation date. Finally, he installed it. After two months, the water softener never does any regeneration. The water in my house is still hard. How much more terrible can Lowes be? I think the store will be closed for poor customer care. read more

If I am choosing between here and Home Depot the customer service here is better. They may not know everything I want to know but hey it's a big box store did you EXPECT them to? Go in after you've researched what you want and you're very likely to find it here. If you want someone to hold your hand and tell you how to do something I'm not so sure this is the place, but I'm not so sure ANY big box store is the place. I like the garden department, the plants look much healthier than some of the other big box stores. Curbside pickup for online orders does not work at all. Ditto on the previous reviews about calling the store for curbside pickup and no one picks up the phone. So I went inside , it was 9/26 at 11:05 am, the worker named Karen who worked at the pickup window gave me an attitude when I told her no one picked up the phone for curbside pickup. She ignored my comment. I told her again, thinking she might not have heard me the first time, she ignored me again. Multiple layers went wrong: 1) no one works to pick up customer calls for curbside pickup 2) employee with bad attitude 3) poor management who is responsible for 1 and 2 above... Do they forget that with high unemployment rate they could be the next to go? Why not give customers the best service and show the boss that they are valuable employees? read more

UPDATE: it has been 1 month (!!!) since I called to re-order some blinds that their installer screwed up. Nothing, crickets, no idea when or even if they'll ever complete the order I paid for. Worst customer service of any home improvement store I've been to. It will be so very painful, frustrating and time consuming if you need any human interaction at all. Staff is extremely rude, hangs up or just disappears when they don't have an answer (this happens often). Then they talk back when you chase them down again, expect head rolls, eye rolls and general attitude. This one girl in windows had the most stoned, glazed over look, giggled stupidly/nervously while replying "uuuuhm, I'm not suuure" to every question. Never have I come across a more apathetic, clueless, disinterested set of employees in my life. I challenge you to walk in and find an employee to help you find something. Since it opened, notwithstanding their opening day where you're required to look like a competent business, I have yet to be offered help finding something. You'd think I was a Centaur, the way these guys avoid me like the plague when I CLEARLY need help finding a particular item. And when I attempt to chase one of these half wits down to grab their attention...they all turn into Usain Bolt. Useless. As recently as today I went in to pick up an online order, thinking if I can't get help finding things in their physical store, then I'd use their website and let these guys gather the things for me. Genius, I thought. I'd finally be able to circumvent their apathy and "who gives a shit" attitudes to get what I needed without wandering around like a leper! Well...much to my chagrin, I underestimated their incompetence. Two of the five items I went to pick up were wrong. After a terrible experience at home depot, I went in had my business done with the help of the staff and everyone was polite and helpful.

Ordered a skylight online, received email said it arrived. Went to pickup,after waiting over 15 minutes was told they can't find and I'd be called later,after 3 hours no call. Called customer service after being on the phone for 30 minutes was told it was scanned in and was there but can't locate. Then I was told I'd have to wait till the next day for shipping manager to call me, not sure what he'll have to say to make sure I get it,meanwhile the people hired to install will sit idle. This is just such a level of ineptitude, I will never order anything from them again,if it's not on the shelf I'll move on. After another call and 15 minutes of punching numbers and waiting reached a mgr named Aziz, He took it upon himself to look for my skylight and in less than 10 minutes he found what a couple of the other workers couldn't. Although I prefer Lowes to its competitors, I was disappointed with their window coverings service. My wife and I went in to schedule a consultation on Wednesday and were told we would receive a call by Friday to setup an appointment for the consultation. It's Sunday and we haven't received one. I called in on Sunday to try and speak with a customer support agent. I followed the automated voice to the blinds section to which my call was not answered. So I called back and tried customer service (pressed 0) which got me to someone who transferred me to blinds and my call was not answered again. So I called back and no one answered when I pressed 0 and my call was once again directed back to the operator. I pressed 0 again and finally reached someone who assisted me. This doesn't match Lowes in store high level of customer service. Once I finally was able to talk to someone to help me, I was told that I was never invoiced for the consultation. Turns out that once I talked to the person in the blinds section that I should have proceeded to a checkout and paid for the consultation to initiate an appointment for a quote. That was not told to me and I have been waiting around for a call. In short, because of this lack of direction and customer service, I have contacted Costco who promptly setup a consultation without a fee I might add! Costco gets my business even though I first went to Lowes. read more

How long should it take to exchange a propane tank? In my case the answer was 30 minutes, and that's after making two trips to the cashier, AND having to call the store operator. Three separate times I was promised "someone will be right with you" and was left standing by the propane cage alone until my last cashier visit. This is unfortunate, as I've always preferred Lowes to Home Depot. But lately, I've found HD to be more customer service oriented, a huge advantage. The next time I need a propane exchange, I'll go somewhere else. Someplace that actually cares about not wasting their customer's time and patience. read more

Not pleased at all with the customer service. I told the cashier that I needed help with the concrete bag I got, which was very heavy. The guy just sends me outside and that someone will be coming out. I waited at least 10 min and no one came I couldn't go back inside since the shopping cart was heavy so I ended up messing up my back by lifting the heavy concrete back.
