Late post 7/15/26 I needed to purchase cleaning tablets for our washing machine, and a representative at a repair shop recommended that we check Lowe's. I wasn't sure if they carried their own brand or the same cleaning tablets sold at Walmart, Amazon, and other retailers. When we arrived, Michael in the appliance department was incredibly welcoming, patient, and knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all of our questions, explained the different options, and made a recommendation that helped us make an informed decision. Afterward, we headed to the air conditioning section, where Larry was equally friendly and engaging. He gladly helped us locate a drip pan and offered additional assistance to ensure we found exactly what we needed. We don't shop at Lowe's very often, but both Michael and Larry provided outstanding customer service. They listened carefully to our questions, never made us feel rushed, and genuinely wanted to help. It's refreshing to encounter employees who are so knowledgeable and customer-focused. We sincerely appreciate all of their assistance and highly recommend this Lowe's location for its exceptional customer service. Bought a Hisense portable air conditioner from Lowe's, got it home, set it up, only to find it does blow cold air but will NOT COOL A ROOM!!! I took it back six days later and now, surprise, suprise, they tell me Lowe's has a forty-eight (48) hour return windo!!! NO one bothered to mention that to me when I picked it up!!! Will NEVER SET FOOT in Lowe's again!!! I have shopped at Fernley lowes for the last 7 years and spent thousands of dollars but now my business goes to HOME DEPOT!!! Came to get a replacement smoker for my husband yesterday and Cody helped us out. He was very nice, knowledgeable and helpful! We appreciate his professionalism and willingness to help us. We got an Oklahoma Joes smoker here in September 2023 and it broke (manufacturer is slow at sending replacement parts) and after the year had hit we reached out to the protection plan through Lowe's. Finally got a refund on the smoker (since we purchased the protection plan) and got a PitBoss. Looking forward to smoking some meats in this bad boy soon! Thanks Cody for your help! read more

My main problem with Lowe's is their change from a veterans account card to a cellphone app. It only works occasionally. When it does work I am surprised. Staff cannot or will not say why. Another issue is that most elderly veterans are not tech savvy. So the app constitutes a barrier. I have been dealing with computer technology for 40 years. But most older people just give up after one failure. Otherwise, Lowe's store and staff are good. read more

Then there was an awkward pause of her staring at me. She then said hi again and I returned with a hello. She waited for me to speak again which I then asked for brochures. I think this store would of gotten 5 stars had it not of been for one employee. The store was clean and well organized. I was on the hunt for my husbands birthday present and couldn't find it so when I asked one of the staff members if they had a flag pole. He asked me, " what do you mean?" I said, "do you sell flag poles?". In a very condescending tone he said, "what for?" I wanted to respond with "Umm to fly a flag" but I went into further detail. I told him I was looking for a 20 foot flagpole. Again in his rude and condescending tone he said, " a 20 foot will not work in this area". I explained to him that it would and I just needed to know if they had any at all. He said, " you'll have to buy a galvanized pole and cement and that I would have to have help putting it in" Ok, I didn't ask you if I could or couldn't do it so let me ask you again ..." DO YOU HAVE ANY FLAG POLES?" His response was, " I don't think we sell any" . At this point I politely said thank you and walked away. Ugh. First I despise it when men think that a woman can't do a particular job. My dad didn't raise a snowflake or a woman that has to wait for others to do what needs to be done. I found another employe and asked if they sold them and she kindly said, " they are on isle 27". Thank you!!!! This Lowe's is well organized and staff is usually easy to find if you need assistance. I have had good experiences at this location. I definitely visit when the local small hardware store does not have what I am looking for. Worth the trip. read more

Lowes outsources their Deliveries to a third party company. WARNING!! if you pay to have your items delivered be cautious because this company doesnt care about your products nor do they care what happens in the process. They also have a lack of people skills, professionalism was tossed out the window. Never had I been approached by two guys that didnt say a single word "Not even hi how are you we are from so an so company" its awkward to see an enterprise truck pulling up when you ordered from lowes. Now I had an AC unit as well as a Waterheater Delivered last year an after seeing the ac unit dented an broken to my water heater being dinged the hell up I took it to Lowes an their supervisors and they informed me that they've had issues with products coming back to the store damaged and well I explained that the third party company doesn't care about Lowes customers and the quality that lowes stands behind he clearly said that he would look into this an well here we are a year later and today my Wifes aunt had something delivered from lowes. Guess what, the same company that delivered our items were delivering hers an would you believe it I guess whom ever is in charge at the store here doesnt care about the customers who pay their paychecks because when these guys showed up. Kind of tricky to get into the parking lot. There's a few twists and turns before you actually get in there. I try to "Shop Local" most times in Fallon, but sometimes there's not the variety and price that you are looking for. Shopping at the Fernly Lowe's is a good rationalization. It's local, even though it is "big box", but it employs local residents and hopefully gives back to the local economy. Bought a ceiling fan for the dining room this go around. They have a nice selection. I usually get big items here at Lowes for home improvement. People are helpful. Store is huge, but well organized. Not too crowded as though there's some building in Fernley and Fallon, they are still fairly small towns with a small population. I like the variety of plants Lowes has as well as the flooring and window coverings. Next big item to buy here for me is brick fascia for the outside of the house. read more

Update to 2021 review: It has been over 33 months, yes nearly 3 years, that we have been trying to contact the contractor who installed our doors to no avail. Apparently, the store is unable to call or even attempt to call their own contractor & simply gives us his information to do it ourselves. Whenever we do, it goes to voice-mail & he never calls back. I suppose this is what they consider to be "customer service". 2 out of the 3 doors which were installed by Lowe's have been drafty for 3 years since the installation. The draftiest door is in the master bedroom, go figure. Due to this, a space heater is required every winter, otherwise the room is unbearable to sleep in. This wasn't an issue pre-installation. The door in the kitchen is not only mildly drafty, but it leaks horribly whenever it rains. We actually have little rivers that run into the kitchen & dining room, creating puddles if we do not put towels down by the door frame during rainstorms. That also was not an issue pre-installation. If I could go back in time 3 years, I would absolutely have NEVER contracted Lowe's for this, nor bought all of the doors & frames from them, as they did a piss-poor job & don't even have the decency or respect for their customers to simply call them back when there is a problem. Thank you for the puddles, but if I wanted to go swimming, I'd visit Lake Tahoe. read more

Don't ever buy the warranty plan here. I spent $200 for the extended warranty for my drier. I called for service and it took over a month for anyone to call me back. When they finally did schedule a service (3 weeks later) the tech refused to do any work and just left. What the hell? So I paid for a warranty just for someone to give me the middle finger and I'm stuck with a broken drier Lowes refuses to fix and honor the warranty I paid for. read more

It's ridiculous that they want you to pay full price for a broken item. I bought first one March of 23 finally got a working one in Sept. of course the delivery guys could not pick up the old one because no paperwork. They came again the next weekend. I called up customer service and they told me to come down with my receipt. When I came in, they reviewed my receipt and items I was missing and told me to grab new ones. I really like the Fernley Lowe's store. I've been going to this particular Lowe's for about three years and buying such a variety of things for my property. Their selection of products is second to none! I've bought about 5K bucks worth of fencing, bags of concrete, 4x4's and about 1K worth of livestock panels. Thank goodness I have a trailer! Lol. I've also bought a lawn mower, a dishwasher, a refrigerator, and a washer and dryer set from here too. I've probably spend another 1k dollars on trees and bushes from here as I recall too. Each time I've gone here, the store always seems to be in good order, meaning clean AND a safe shopping environment. No lumber in the isles to trip on, or other safety concerns. The staff are always asking if assistance is needed, and ready to point me in the right direction. Any time I've needed to make a return, I show them my MILOS card, and BAM...done! This store is hit and miss. Occasionally you will get an irritated employee when you ask for help. I went in with my mom to look for a door to replace a busted one. They didn't have the size we needed and the gentleman we talked to offered to order a size that we need. When we decided to try and patch the hole in the door he gave us a few suggestions to fix the door. Tammy in the garden department is amazing. I have known her for years. She is very friendly and knows her stuff! They have a great selection of holiday items that change with the seasons and occasionally you can get a good deal on things if you watch for clearance and end of season sales. read more

I called twice and emailed once and was answered by Claudia, she is the Order Pick Up girl and let me just say, she saved the order, without her I would've given up on those, canceled and went to Reno, but she has a handle on the new system and she is my hero! Extremely disappointed in how our home town Lowe's has gone down hill over last several months. Today went in due to a mix up and shortage on building material we had purchased for our new him. We were shorted 4 cabinets and didn't notice until we went to install. something that clearly would show up on their inventory. We had a picture and time stamp of the order the day we picked up. The manager Patrick was a complete butt interrupting me. Had zero respect for customer service. Talked down to me and made me feel like I was a liar. my husband and I have spent over $50,000 dollars in material purchases in the last year at the Fernley Lowe's. I asked for a discount on the cabinets I needed to finish the job and he offered the current 10% the store was offering. Then he said the only way I could get that discount was if I didn't call customer care. Needless to say I didn't take his 10% because it was a slap in the face. Then after I made my purchase which I waited over 40 minutes to get any help, leaving the cabinet area to navigate a flat cart thru the disorganized store, narrow isles with several employees walking past seeing me struggle and zero offered to help. zero customer service. What a total cluster schmuck! I ordered a refrigerator online, said it would be delivered today between 4 and 8 PM. So I sat around for four hours... No refrigerator. I check online AND call the store to find out the new window is between 7 PM and 11 PM so I waste my entire day sitting here waiting for them to come. Still no refrigerator. apparently the refrigerator is not available in Fernley, it is Reno that has the item. So they have to truck it over to Fernley. This whole operation should have been better organized. Do not give me a time to wait unless your people are going to show up. We work our lives around these delivery windows. Work schedules, kid schedules, people that sleep during the day and work at night! Reno and Fernley manifest managers need to get together and figure this crap out. Also have the computer correlate a correct timeframe that matches when the trucks are dispatched. So today... I get to wait for a freaking phone call for my delivery. They refused without a receipt. They have the same faucet in stock snd I just wanted to change it out for proper size. Lady at counter and manager refused to switch them. Caitlyn in customer service seemed miserable and anything she said or asked was super aggressive. We misplaced our receipt but had our transaction number/mylowes account info which showed our order/proof of payment. She kept mumbling to herself and was acting very irritated. She then told us that the return was past 30 days, mind you we knew that but it was an item that needed to be ordered and was never delivered. However, Terrie and Frank are awesome. We ordered a washer/dryer a month and a half ago and didn't find out till today(delivery day) that they couldn't get the dryer. They helped us find a replacement set! I had a granite counter top job done. They will be nice to you until you run into problems. And I did unfortunately. The installer drilled a faucet hole with plenty of chips and chisels around so that I had to put plenty of putty just to be able to stop leaks from the brand new sink that is built as putty free. The installer is US Granite. After complaining about the problem, Lowes wanted to stay clear of the responsibility and Ken from US Granite gave me a bogus response saying chips are normal and leaks should be resolved with the plummer. Well 5 other holes that installer has drilled did not have any chips. I guess then they are abnormal. I am glad I did not buy any of their extended warranty. Around the same time I bought a bunch of electronic appliances and delivery service was simply amazing. They pretty much left everything disconnected except for the refrigerator. I had to hook up the dish washer, the counter top oven, the Microwave, and the full-top oven. I had to sign a bunch of paperwork that stated what Lowes installer did not do. Lowes claimed they have explained everything in details on the day of purchase. So it was wrong for me to expect that anything would be hooked up except for the refrigerator. I do not know about you but this will be my last purchase with Lowes. I will boycott it for the rest of my life. read more

They also tried to get me to take a second order they sent me a pickup on, short four pieces, because it was going to be hard for them to get them out of the stack in the back. We just had our home built in Fernley but wanted a better looking front door. We purchased a door with four frosted glass sections, nice door. We were told to have there door expert hang the door Incase anything went wrong. So we agreed and had Carl come out. He is Lowe's door install expert. My husband let Carl hang door but to my husband shock and surprise Carl hung door up side down. Where the kick plate should be is now at the top of my door. This was in Sept. it's now months later after ordering doors from Lowe's and finally got the new door painted. We call Lowe's and guess what? Carl does not want to install our door. Guessing he could be embarrassed by what he did, but no he never admitted or apologized and kept the $40 tip my husband gave him. I guess at this point I should be happy he's not coming back. People at Lowe's are very nice and we try to spend our money local but really! So unprofessional. So heads up if your looking to have a pro hang a door watch out. Finally got a Lowe's installer to come out and install our new front door. He's name was Hoi. Fantastic job. Young man with his act together. Did a professional job. Thank you Hoi. I was there a few weeks ago and the poor girl at the return desk was swamped, and she kept running back and forth answering the phones and helping customers at the counter. There was a manager named Stacy behind her just talking and laughing with another employee. When I asked the girl at the counter why no one was helping her, she said "because they are managers". I almost said something to Stacy myself, because I felt so bad for the girl. I don't know what position Stacy is, but I could not believe how she saw this poor girl struggling and literally sweating trying to help 3 people and answer all the phones and Stacy did not step in to help at all!!! Outrageous really. And Kat in the garden section is always rude to me when I ask simple questions. She always acts like I'm completely interrupting her to ask a question. I get the loud sigh and eye roll, and I'm pretty sure she muttered something rude about me under her breath. I am an independent contractor and I shop at Lowe's all the time. I spend a lot of money here. Most of the employees are top notch! Like the guy in lighting and electrical, he's amazing. Forget his name. And almost all the cashiers are wonderful. Horrible customer service and gives you the run around!! I ordered 75 boxes of hardwood flooring 2/25. It was supposed to be ready 3/4. We called last week and was told they didn't have a record of our order. So, I called again yesterday 3/14 at 1013. Misty told me that she didn't see an order and she would call back. She called back at 1038 to tell me she's getting her manager involved. I never heard back. So I called at 1714 and was placed on hold for 20 minutes!! I called back and asked for a manager to which Misty told me there wasn't one and to come in 3/15 and Bruce would be there. When I asked when he would be in, she told me 0600. I drove from Fallon to Fernley at 0840 and was told Bruce doesn't come in til 1100. When Coral, the flooring manager on staff heard I was there for a complaint, she said "you have to do a refund re-bill and it will be a few more weeks until we get the flooring in." Due to this mistake, I am paying for a rental AND a house mortgage. There was NO sympathy, no apology and no remorse or offer to make this right. Once I brought up the situation, I was treated with resistance and disdain. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE! GO TO HOME DEPOT OR ANYWHERE ELSE!!!! read more
